I can't agree to 24 hour days, sorry. Today and tomorrow I am so ridiculously flat out, that my participation in the next day phase would probably amount to not much more than a vote. It may not anyway, but I'd at least like to have the possibility of being a bit involved.

I could probably go to 24 hour days the day after, assuming the game is still going.

I also can't agree to 24 hour days yet. But it's completely game related for me.

Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Night 14

-= Stolen Dreams =-

Sorsha loved the City. She had been here before, it's true, but the Marketplace was enough to keep her coming back. So many wonderful things to buy, if one was willing to take the time to browse! She even ran into an old friend, and they decided to have lunch at L'olive Mariné, a local fancy restaurant. Many laughs, and talk of old times, and perhaps one too many drinks. Sorsha said her goodbyes, and gave her hugs, and went on her way.

She hadn't realized that it had gotten dark. She was in a part of the City that she was less familiar with, and she furrowed her brow as she tried to figure out which way to go. Her head was spinning a little, and she put a hand to the wall to steady herself. Looking ahead, she saw the Essence Elemental, flitting through the streets. Her glowing form was easy to see in the fading light, and Sorsha hurried to catch up to her, if only to get directions.

To Sorsha's dismay, she was unable to catch up with the emblem of purity, and she lost track of the Elemental. She shivered as a harsh breeze blew down the narrow street, and looked around, recognizing with dismay that she DID recognize this part of the City. Last time she was here, many days ago, she had been assaulted by thieves as she tried to sleep. She realized there were several ominous shadows around, low-life folk eyeing her up, and she became frightened that there would be a repeat of the past beating she had received.

She picked up the pace, turning corners and taking shortcuts that she thought would get her back to the main streets, but she only got more lost in the dirty slums. Finally, she ended up at a dead-end alleyway. A high fence stood between her and the Marketplace, where she could see parents and children walking and talking happily, bands playing, and colourful lights illuminating precious wares and artifacts that friendly salesmen were offering.

A voice from behind her made her blood run cold. "So close... and yet so far..."

She spun around to see a Witherdeath assassin standing between her and the alley's exit. As the killer advanced upon her, she tried to jump and climb the fence, but a dagger was plunged into her back, and she fell back as her fingers stopped obeying her commands. She slammed to the ground right on the dagger, causing it to bury itself so deep within her that the blade burst out from the middle of her chest.

Her killer roughly shoved her over with his foot, and tore a piece of cloth from her shirt to grab the blade and clean it off, as her blood mixed with the mud and garbage in the filthy alley.

Sorsha has been nightkilled by the Witherdeath Cabal. It is now Day 15.

Tranq :disappoint: :disappoint: :disappoint: :disappoint: :disappoint: :disappoint: :disappoint: :disappoint: :disappoint:

I'm disappointed in you.

Very disappointed.

Very very very disappointed.

I came into this day intending to vote SVS. But for all I know she isn't even bad. Actually, you know what I think this plot is? I think it is that SVS isn't even bad... and she has been honest about the fact she is ok losing to see circle win. But it's not the civs she is going to hand the win. It's the cabal. It's you.

Oh, you've been so clever with your words. So, so, clever. But not clever enough... not clever enough.

*vote tranq*

I should have stuck to my guns on this yesterday, but I finally have you. You are cabal. I am very afraid there is nothing I can do to stop you winning. I've been afraid of that for a while now. But I HAVE TO TRY

PS - I didn't even know SVS wasnt on the poll when I made this post. It wouldn't have mattered. I would have voted for you anyway.

EVERY CIV LEFT IN THIS GAME, ANY CIRCLE MEMBERS OUT THERE. LYNCHING TRANQ IS OUR ONLY HOPE. PLEASE< EVERYONE< LISTEN TO ME AND DO IT.
And there is not even the slightest chance my vote will change.

Draconus - its on the line here for you. If you vote with tranq, instead of voting for him, then I know you are on his team.

thinking on it more... SVS could still be cabal and tranq could be circle. Whatever. Tranq is either decieving SVS, or decieving us, or decieving everyone. He is certainly, though, absolutely, certainly, the right person to lynch today.

I knew it yesterday. I even knew it the day before. Dammit, I should have been shouting the house down.

With any luck we still have a chance.

I won't be back again till near end of day, if at all. Tomorrow is a write off for me. This is it. Please, please, please trust me.

Golden, you're wrong. I suggest you re-evaluate your thoughts before jumping the gun. You'll single-handedly be responsible for a civ loss if you lynch me today.

Tranq, there is nothing you could say or do under the sun to convince me that this is the truth.

I am absolutely certain that I will be single-handedly responsible for a civ loss if I listen to any more of your bullshit.

Yesterday should have been tranq vs SVS and somehow we lynched LoRab. I'll put my hand up and take my part in the responsibility for that, but I was stupid.

There is no chance today that I will do anything but vote tranq. I would vote tranq a million times if I could. Even if SVS was on the poll, I would.

Goodbye, tranq.

I wanted to lynch Dom yesterday over LoRab.

Golden, you've been wrong before, you are wrong again today. SVS is the last Cabal, Dom is the last Circle. I'm confident about this. Either LoRab or Sorsha was Circle. I'm civ. I trust you are too, but you're dooming us if you keep your vote on me.

Sorsha was bad, no doubt in my mind. Trusting her was foolish on my part, but the last time we talked she said somethings that gave her away. SHE was the one trying to make the deal, kiddo. That whole business about being "forced" to change her vote for me to a vote for Lorab, and not being happy about it?

Bullshit. That was part of her deal. You should be very pleased she is gone :nicenod:

I am not sure why we had to stay at 48 hours so Golden could make two posts and then not come back, lol, I don't see why we should need 48 for this. But I could see either Dom or Tranq being Sorshas partner. Lorabs flip makes me less sure of Dom, although he has this bitter angry quality about him in this game that I associate with baddies. LP baddies, specifically, for some reason, but meh. His entire game has been alternatively tossing jargon and acting it out. When he was under attack early in the game, I thought I say civ Dom there, but I am not sure I have seen him in a long time since then. And Tranq & Sorsha, who I am rock solid sure was a thieving baddie, had this whole plot/deal all cooked up before I even got there. Then she sat in the thread batting her eyelashes, "I am not happy about it either, Dom". Although, tbh, Golden being so sure is a point AGAINST a Tranq vote to me, lol. Maybe he just spent too much time with Sorsha.

linki~ When there is only one baddie left isn't their range like half the board or something?

There isn't only one baddie left though right? I mean we know both teams are still around. Unless it is one per team. I have to go read up on that. I just find I interesting if Tranq is bad he would pick Sorsha when he could have killed others instead.

3 dead from cabal would put the range at 5. The bit about the kill range increasing by one when sharing a square with a teammate - I wonder if this includes dead teammates bodies.

Players who know who i have travelled with early in the game should've gotten the hint. Golden should've gotten it aswell.

SVS was on the same square as us. She killed Sorsha. She was convinced Sorsha was Circle. She tried to kill fingersplints. She's the Cabal, not me. I mean, really? The Cabal NK'd me Night 4! I need clarification from LC on something, but i should be able to prove to fingersplints i wasn't the one who tried to NK her.

Dom is the only baddie on this poll. He's the last Circle. Even today he lied about "having reason to believe they're at the Tribunal". SVS might be there today (though i doubt it :p ), but it's impossible for her to get herself off the poll all by herself. The square i am on today is 5sq from the Tribunal.

Uhh... Well, thanks for confirming. I didn't catch that hint before, but makes sense now...
Please do clarify. I had forgotten about that little factoid. I'd hate to mislynch this close to end game.

Also, are you still convinced of the Trickster having an influence on Lorab's flip?

I'm not Circle either. I was the one who asked Timmer to name his alignment check item which ended up confirming him bad. Also i went after TH pretty hard, causing the Lich to lose his protection. Also if not LoRab, Sorsha or Dom, who would my Circle teammate be?

linki:

I was sure about LoRab. You know i've suspected her for a while. I don't like being wrong, but looking back at the MM-TH lynch i'm considering Sorsha-Dom being Circle rather than LoRab-Dom. I'm going to dig deeper into this.

I've kept your attack on the Circle members in mind. I've also kept in mind the fact that MP has done the same to his teammates in the past (it got him at least one win).

I'm not convinced about Lorab or Dom, yet. Plus with their interactions in thread right before her lynch, I would most definitely say that Dom was recruited by Lorab. She was starting to say things about him not voting in thread that I would expect a baddie to keep in btsc. If she was a baddie, why be so open in thread about your concern with Dom's lack of a vote? Especially if you know you're going to flip civ.

Linki: Dom: He did admit to being on Sorsha's square :)

LoRab and Dom shared a square together Night 12. I don't think they shared a square yesterday. I assume they were talking about something they previously agreed about, but didn't follow through.
Again, i'm not convinced about this either yet. I know SVS is without a doubt convinced about Sorsha-Dom being Circle, i still think LoRab could've used that Seemer item. In both those scenarios Dom would've know LoRab would flip civ.

That's a fair point worth considering...

My head is spinning from this game and nearly 120 to 130 hours of work in the span of 2 weeks. Tomorrow I will begin the end of my second 6 day work week in a row :why: But it will be over after that.

I guess the following post gives the Sorsha-Dom recruitment some merit:
Sorsha wrote:
Metalmarsh89 wrote:
Golden wrote:I've done a lot of thought about the likelihood of the Living Statue to be civ.

I tend to think it more likely the role gets recruited by a baddie.

The advantage a baddie team would have is that if one of their people get the gem and then die, the rest of their team would still know where the gem is and would be able to complete the task. If a civ died with the gem, this wouldn't be so easy. The baddies also have the advantage of getting to know more about what is on each square by covering more squares per day, given they have non-square related btsc.

On the other side of the coin is that there are more civs (or at least at game start there were).

It could go either way.
I feel the same way.

But what civ would take it upon him/herself to find the gem, find the statue, and recruit the statue to the civ side? (Assuming that's how the role works)

I think a mafia team is more likely to coordinate such an event.

One who is on a quest to do such a thing? :knight3:

Also Dom, stop ignoring the case i made against you:
Tranq wrote:Why Dom is a Circle of Decay member:

Dom hasn't interacted with Timmer at all this game. He made 3 mentions of Timmer, before it became obvious Timmer lied about everything.

Day 7:
Dom wrote:I think Timmer might have been misrepresented. I was gone during his almost-lynch and the leaders of that lynch no longer seem to support a Timmer lynch, so I won't either.
Dom's first mention of Timmer v2. No thoughts on the Obsidian Dagger situation.

Day 9:
Dom wrote:
Metalmarsh89 wrote:Why aren't we lynching timmer anymore?timmer
I never fully understood the case against him. So :shrug2:
Dom's 2nd mention of Timmer. Doesn't get the case against him.

Day 10:
Dom wrote:I think I can trust LoRab and think you are very wrong about her.
I do not trust Matt F because he clearly has no idea what he's talking about.
Timmer? I could see. I'm more inclined to think Bass or FS are bad.
Dom's 3rd mention of Timmer. Now he does see something! Note this is the day Timmer brought up the Figurine story.

Night 10:
Dom wrote:Yikes.
I think it's pretty obvious why TH was not lynched instead of Timmer if you paid attention the other day.
Sorry guys. I just got home and caught up-- worked way more than expected. :/
TBH i'm confused by this whole situation and don't trust anyone involved. Matt F's witholding the knowledge sketches me out as much as Timmer's apparent murder.
4th mention. This post was made after the failed Timmer/TH lynch. His posts after this only focus on Bass-SVS-Matt, he makes no effort in trying to find Circle members. After Matt, getting rid of SVS and the Cabal NK is his only focus. I pointed out the flaws in his logic several times, you see how he reacted :p

---

Timmer has 0 interactions with Dom. He mentioned him twice:

Day 8:
timmer wrote:So Mac... going through your posts, you've listed at various times about 8 people who you think are scum, but you've never stuck to one thought for more than about half a day. Can you clarify who you are most suspicious of, and why?

I also notice that you asked me about Dom way back. I have no opinion on him, like I've got no real opinion on most players in the game. I'm trying to catch up here, though.
One neutral post on Dom, and one agreeing with Dom:

Day 8:
timmer wrote:Dom's got a decent point. If you are paying attention enough to have people you trust, you must have people you don't trust, Bass. If you aren't paying enough attention to have any suspicions, how do you have people you trust?
Conclusion: Timmer and Dom are teammates.

---

Turnip Head's interactions with Dom:

He had several interactions early in the game until Day 5. Then his early-game suspicion of Dom stopped. I suspect the earliest they recruited him was Night 5.

Day 9:
Turnip Head wrote:
Dom wrote:I'm feeling good about Golden, I think. I'm looking at you, FS, and Wildgy. I'm on the fence about most players.

This however, STILL does not answer the question I asked you.
What makes you feel good about Golden?

I agree with you about splintsy and to a lesser extent Bass. What do you see in Wilgy? He's a bit of an enigma to me.
First interaction/mention post-recruitment. Asks an innocent question.

Day 10: This happened after Night 9, the "failed" Circle NK on Dom:
Turnip Head wrote:I suspect you because none of your cases have been thread based (until now I guess XD ). You went after solely MM and me for days on end, based on assuming MM was an indy Dr. Dre... I think that is exactly the type of case a baddie would want to push. Then you moved onto Dom, you asked him if he had been recruited during the Night, and quickly voted for him today, again this is not a case that seems to be based on anything happening in the thread. Combined with the Circle kill attempt on Dom, it feels like they want him out.
TH shares Dom's suspicion of Matt and accuses Matt of attempting to NK Dom.

Day 12:
The limited Dom-Matt-TH poll option lynch:
Turnip Head wrote:I will be voting for either Dom or Matt today.[/obviousolive]

Matt, why are you voting for yourself if you're an important civvie on an important quest? How can you be sure that Dom wasn't recruited by a civilian? And why does your first suspicion of Dom come 4 RL days after your quest had failed? You said your quest failed on Night 7, but your first mention of Dom as suspicious comes on Night 9, the same night the Circle of Decay failed to kill Dom, and you have only accused him more heavily since that kill failed.

Dom, why are you getting defensive over Matt knowing your role and accusing you of being recruited? From my point of view you should be defensive over your alignment, not your role. What exactly is Matt lying about? Did you trust him until he accused you?

I think you both could be bad :ponder:
Obligatory questioning of Dom. Followed by these two:
Turnip Head wrote:Dom too ignored my questions directed at him. I think Dom looks bad for making a big stink about Matt "outing" him. Even being outed, Dom should have nothing to fear if he's civvie. He's getting defensive over Matt outing him but he's not getting defensive over his alignment, which makes me think he has something to hide.

They've both accused each other of lying, so something's gotta give there. I don't know which I'm voting for yet, I think there's a chance they both could be bad, and they're both better options than me today.
Turnip Head wrote:
Matt wrote:Oh, and at this point, I've said all I can about Dom really. He tried to say he didn't send me to fetch the Gem, then backtracked. He knows my role yet insists on lynching me. I mean, once everyone else sees my role, if I'm lynched, I hope you take the time to consider how utterly preposterous it is to think I'm bad.
So, you have nothing more to say about Dom, thereby dodging my questions... and then you proceed to accuse Dom some more. :smoky:

Why would Dom lie about sending you to fetch the Gem? I must have missed that bit... it was a dense read
He mentions Dom, but he doesn't attack. He defends Dom by attacking Matt. That lynch poll only had 1 civvie and 2 circles on it, so they ganged up on Matt.

---

Dom's interactions with Turnip Head:

Day 7: Agrees with TH on juliets. http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 81#p198381
Day 9: See above. Answers a question asked by TH. http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 21#p200121
Day 10:
Dom wrote:
Turnip Head wrote:I wonder if Bass genuinely doesn't know what the case against him is because he hasn't read :P But boiling it down to being a low poster is inaccurate and no excuse. My biggest concerns with him are still his vaguely justified Canuck vote and now the fact that he won't tell us who he thinks is bad except to NO U Sorsha.
Lest we forget "two days in a row is bad"-gate
Agrees with TH's suspicion on Bass. Note how they tend to have similar suspicions.
Night 10:
Dom wrote:Yikes.
I think it's pretty obvious why TH was not lynched instead of Timmer if you paid attention the other day.
Comments on the obviousness of TH being not-lynched instead of Timmer, despite never once addressing the TH-poison issue before.
Dom wrote:
S~V~S wrote:I think lynching Matt before TH is putting the cart before the horse. The main reason I suspect him is the connection to Timmer, and subsequently to TH. The only person he could have been saving with that list is TH.
Where do you see a tie between TH and Timmer? That's where I lose you.
Doesn't see the TH-Timmer connection.
Dom wrote:No because I'm not sure I suspect TH in the first place. I think Matt might've thrown Timmer under the bus to gain cred.
Doesn't suspect TH.
Day 11: nothing

Day 12:
Dom wrote:Teammates? Maybe TH... maaaaybe Matt.... not sure.
Very first mention of TH as a possible Circle suspect. Because i asked him to.

Day 13:
Dom wrote:Timmer's teammates are probably TH? Maybe Sorsha.
Because i asked him again. Dom focusses all his energy to not lynch Circle members. Only when directly asked he's forced to name someone. Sorsha isn't a Circle member, fingersplints isn't one either.

---

I'm not gonna bother going through the Dom vs Matt stuff. Clearly one of you got caught in a lie, and it wasn't Matt.

Dom, prove yourself. Make a good solid case against your top 2 Circle suspects.

I've been looking back at the Night Polls. Does anyone know if the Soul Shade was a civ role?
Tranq wrote:
Draconus wrote:I'm pretty sure the Soul Shade is dead.
Which team do you think the Soul Shade was on?

I'm thinking this could be a pretty straightforward poll. 1 civvie, 1 cabal, 1 circle
Sorsha being Circle makes sense if Soul Shade was civ and the Night Poll wasn't unfair to any particular team.
Image
Trickster: Cabal
Master Thief: Circle
Soul Shade: Civvie

Assuming the Night Polls are fair, it would also follow my Puppet Master as the dead Cabal assumption:

Tranq, your case is a useless pile of manipulation.

You have been linked to two NKs. You ignore the fact that there was an attempted NK on me by the Circle. You ignore that SVS is obviously bad. You are likely bad as well and I refuse to let you continue to manipulate this thread to your needs.
