We lost Home Alone Mafia because everyone was too polite to just role-claim when it was within the rules to do so. Our community is really touchy on roleclaiming, so much so that many of us can't do it even when it's an allowed part of the game.

Why is that?

One answer could be that if everyone just claimed their role, then it would be far too simple to find the baddies and the detective-style Mafia game would be shunted aside for a simpler version of the game called "Who is lying?"

However, I don't want to lose because I'm too polite. I don't really see the difference between saying "I'm not the moon

So, if we're doing this, then let's not dance around it. Why not just state our roles at (or near) the outset?

Matt, my dude! You were one of the most special gems in the entire game for me. Your passion and drive and successes were shining examples of what makes it all worthwhile to me. I was deeply grateful that I had a fine player like you in A World Reborn. If the game was made up of 30 Matts, it would have been absolutely spectacular.

This is dangerous on many levels, LC.

DON'T JUST WILLY NILLY CLAIM YOUR ROLE.

In Home Alone, town would have won on the onset if they just outright claimed due to the open setup.

But this is closed set-up. I don't know if you've ever done a closed setup before, LC, but claiming roles THIS EARLY is very bad.

Don't you think Golden would put safeguards in place for that very reason? Anyone of us could be lying.

Granted, no one has counterclaimed Sorsha and Typh did not die last night, so that is a safe assumption. But color me pissed that that came out in Day 2.

I do not wish to claim my role...yet. Suspect me for that if you like, but I am immediately suspicious of anyone that asks everyone to claim.
