Robin as well. Part of me was kinda hoping that the Mafia would kill him so I didn't draw attention to it, but oh well. :sigh:

"MP was the sacrifice the Island demanded." Lol

Nah, but for real, I'd rather not waste a day to lynch you. I don't want to lose either, but wasting an entire phase to lynch a civ friendly indy doesn't seem ideal.

Well considering that the possible Scarecrow list consists of self reporters, why wouldn't he just say he was targeted? He knows everyone he targeted so he could just pick a night he targeted someone dead. Why wouldn't he lie?

I think DH is more likely to have targeted me than not.
You not being targetted is interesting. It gave me a brief moment of paranoia, but I don't think you are the Scarecrow. But I do think it means you are in a telling position, in terms of mayeb having some insight into who would have targetted you by now.

I certainly would have targetted you :p
Here he thinks it an odd thought that Scarecrow would lie^^ In his reply to me, there was no mention of the lying bit, which was the entire intention of the conversation. And he makes a point of saying he would have targeted me. The post right after this he says, "And Typhoony too".

Then he happily embraces the Scarecrow lying as a wifom-y excuse for his own defense.

Golden wrote:
LoRab wrote:Would Golden target himself night 1?

As others have pointed out, I would simply just lie.

But I think there is enough of my behaviour in the thread to back up the fact it was not a lie.
Did any of you need Bubbles role dead to win? Or maybe the other Falcone?

Am I clutching at straws, lol?
@SVS - You have misinterpreted me. I did not ever find it an odd thought the scarecrow wouldn't lie. I found it an odd thought that you would say 'why would the scarecrow be honest', when either being honest OR lying seem equally likely to me. Either way creates equal wifom. That was the point of the last statement there 'I don't think we can assume the Scarecrow would do one or the other'.

Obviously, if the Scarecrow is someone who claims they are targetted, they are lying. If the Scarecrow is someone who claims they weren't targetted, they are telling the truth. If I am the scarecrow, I would have to be lying about being targetted. If you were the scarecrow, you'd have to be telling the truth about being targetted.

I have arrived! I just read through the thread to see what I missed and it looks like not much. For some reason i didn't realize the lynch was tomorrow night - i thought it was tonight - glad it's not.

I wish i had some good conspiracy theories to put out there for discussion SVS. Matt is the master of theories, maybe he'll have one. I also still don't know who to suspect for Scarecrow. All that work I did re-reading the thread and figuring out who would have targeted who was worthless because as DH reminded me the Scarecrow picks by role. It's interesting to think about what roles he would have gone after first. I don't think that would help us find the scarecrow though.

So I am flat out of ideas. If someone else thinks of something I'll be happy to participate or maybe i will, like SVS, think of something in my dreams. I will be in and out tomorrow, spending all visiting hours at the hospital so if you ask me something just don't expect a quick answer. I'll also be around some tonight.

It'd be helpful if those who claimed to be Scarecrowed also told us the Night they were targeted (maybe they have and we haven't compiled it), perhaps the targets can be made better sense of if they're arranged in order.

For example, after my no lynch, I'd expect Scarecrow to start targeting people to need me dead, but not before.

Perhaps we can pinpoint someone who seems as though they may be most likely to be lying that way.

Otherwise, I'm not sure how to hunt for this guy.

MP we have a list of who and what night, the problem is you have to scan through the thread to find it. I can't even remember who posted the most updated one. I'll scan for it while i have a minute and bring it forward if i find it.

Enrique - Night 9
Golden - Night 1
juliets - no
LoRab - no
Mac - Night 4 (?)
Matt - Night 5
MP - Night 7 (?)

Yeah, I was Night 7.

Still strikes me as odd timing because I'd figure the Scarecrow would have targeted me right after my no lynch (Day 4), especially considering they targeted me with needing Batman dead.

Why limit the list to those names? I mean, I think a lot of scarecrows would either self-target or not use the power one night and claim to have targeted. I think it is very short sighted to limit the list to those who haven't been targeted. I actually think it's a lot more likely that scarecrow is someone who has been targeted (or reports having been targeted).

Clearly, scarecrow is a good player--I can't imagine that a person playing the role the way they have wouldn't make it seem as if they've targeted themselves in the process.

I'd actually say that completely from a probability standpoint (putting aside players and posts), it's probably one of the people who was targeted to have Robin be dead. I mean, 2 players, maybe, but 3? Seems unlikely. And poor strategy. If Robin were to die, then 3 players are off the hook. And I think it better strategy to mainly spread out who to try to have killed.

I think it is also informative to consider who would choose, as far as we know, civ roles to be targets. Scarecrow needs to be a player who would play it from a baddie perspective.

Trying to decide if Dom's comment is short sighted enough to be suspicious. I'm not there yet, but I'm processing.

And trying to think through all of the living players and figuring out who might fit.

DH is still a gut read for this, but for no reason other than gut. But, still.

Just pointing out that one of the reasons we lynched a crooked cop last lynch was because there was a general consensus I am not the Scarecrow.

There was? Can you point that out, because I don't remember seeing that in the thread.

Several people did not vote for me because they found it hard to believe I was the Scarecrow. Pretty well documented.

I went with one theory and ran with it to see what it yielded. No one else is even talking. I'm just trying to find an angle here.
I have no clue who scarecrow is, but I do have to say that our fixation on him has killed discussion.

That's a very broad generalization of what was also suspicion of Bubbles by LoRab since Day 1 and myself/SVS for several days.

I went through LoRabs posts, mostly to see if she could be Falcone. But I hadn't seriously considered LoRab as scarecrow yet... and I think that makes more sense.

- It would explain why MP was scarecrowed later than his failed lynch. She was out of the country for the first couple weeks of the game so not a lot of time to keep up, it would make sense that she had not realized that MP basically outed himself until later on.
- She never really mentioned any of the Scarecrowed peeps (Golden, Mac, Matt, MP, Bullz or Enrique) until today, when she says Enrique is her top Falcone suspect. She has not pushed this beyone the one post, however.
- Her top 3 list for Scarecrow on Day 10 was DH/Dom/me, all not scarecrowed at the time. Today, Dom has been scarecrowed, and her gut read for Scarecrow is DH. She seems to now waffle on Dom.
- There is quite a bit of circumstantial evidence (her saying she thinks Scarecrow is more likely to be a male player) but you could probably find that for anyone who's talked about the Scarecrow so I'm hesitant to look too much into that.

No crazy theories here, sorry.

I do think Enrique is bad/indy somehow, like I really think he is, but not necessarily Scarecrow or even Falcone. If tomorrow was just a normal day looking to lynch any baddie/indy, I'd vote him.

SVS - You defended DH really hard saying he would have definitely targeted you, I believe we had a discussion about it but I'm super tired and am being lazy as fuck not looking it up. You did agree that it's possible that DH was simply blocked and/or you were protected at some point, though, right?

I was thinking maybe it was Dom, too, but I don't think Dom would march into the thread a day after we started to take the Scarecrow hunt seriously and announce "oh hai guys i was scarecrow'd too haha".

I defended DH really hard becasue I believe it.

The Scarecrow is a fairly malicious role. It is up with a kill; trashing someones win condition. In addition, in most game, people don't discuss who targeted who with what when. This is somewhat unusual, what we are doing here. With players presuming targeting would be kept in some confidence, I doubt DH is the Scarecrow.

Now, and I am somewhat hesitant to discuss this, but this is why I think what I think. DH & I have a fairly adversarial relationship. I don't mean in the friendly rivalry way, I mean with one or two carefully written posts, we can drive each other into absolute paroxysms of anger. We have both driven each other away from playing in the past. If I had a power like that, if nothing serious had happened to me on day one, I would use it on one of two people that were playing this game, and DH is one of them. Not for personal reasons, but becasue I can be fairly sure that at some point, our mutual mistrust would surface, and I would have to fight him off. Giving him an alternate win condition might distract him, lol.

And I think he & I are much alike that way, probably in a lot of ways much as neither of us would like to admit that; it's probably part of why we fight alot. It is totally possible he was blocked on another night if he tried to target me. I looked and could find no reason for him to target Golden. Perhaps I am being narcissistic, but this is what I think.

While I cannot say he is not a baddie (I have never killed DH night one, becasue it would point a giant finger at me, and I don't recall him ever doing the same; this goes back to the point I made about public knowledge of targetting being a consideration here), I am pretty sure he is not a secret targeter like the Scarecrow.
