Well, I'm looking at JOH's ISO and despite all the content I'm not feeling super inspired. Also, despite recent reservations, I'd rather keep Llama around for now.

Vote JOH

....Nevermind, just tried to vote and saw that I missed it just barely. :overreact:

I don't have much- sorry. Too many new people.

As I implied, I won't be voting fishfunk. Unfortunately I have to vote now. I'll probably just vote to make sure there's no tie.
:sigh:
I realize that's disappointing to you, but I doubt I'm going to play leader this time out. Without knowing about half the field, I would rather observe and speak up when I find something worth mentioning. I found nothing noteworthy today.

I am changing my host color for the people using the white background.

thellama73 has been lynched. He was:

Dr. Karin Chakwas

You’re a highly experienced Alliance doctor, and though you could easily serve Earthside or with any other post, you like the thrill of the frontier and working with Shepard as the Normandy’s doctor.

Twice during the game during any separate night phases, you may select a player. That player will be protected from any fatal night actions.
Night 1 has begun. You have 24 hours to send your night actions to the Hackett sock account. It is legal to post during the night phase. malakim2099 will be around when he can to provide some flavor.

Yeah. If you live in a town where they execute you for tilting against windmills, unjust as that may be, and you get executed for ... tilting against windmills, on some level, that is on you.

Going after someone relentlessly without reassessment. Sometimes the connotation of the word implies that the player doing the tunneling is town, but I wouldn't say that's necessary.

Bleh.

At least we can talk at night. Part of why my defense sucked was my boss being over my shoulder and then me driving. Sexual favors are quicker than giving nuanced defenses (when you're good at them). 4-6 central is not my best timeframe.

If there's anything I didn't answer satisfactorily, point it out and I'll get back to you before phase end.

Sorry, Llama.

I don't fully understand this pity party post of yours, considering Llama JUST RECENTLY hosed us both and won as a baddie, and I suspected him from Day 1 and allowed him the benefit of the doubt. I have no more sympathy for him than for any Civ lynched Day 1, and I'm certainly not in the state of mind to just let him go through the whole game again with me squashing down my bad feelings about him every EOD.

Is There A Doctor In The House?

She had only wanted to see the stars, and work once more with Commander Shepard. However, the discontent growing amongst the crew showed that it was not to be. She was reassigned to the colony on Eden Prime...

thellama73 has been lynched. They were Dr. Karin Chakwas (Town), experienced Alliance doctor and former CMO of the Normandy!

Meanwhile, on Eden Prime, a hapless soldier stumbled onto a hive of Geth Aerial drones. And thus, he was laser meat.

Marmot has been lynched. He was Corporal Richard L. Jenkins (N/A), mook who dies in the first combat scene of the first game and foolish player that thought he couldn't be lynched in a game he wasn't playing in.

Enjoy your night phase!

Spoiler: show
And yes, the Marmot thing was a joke from the sign-up thread. There's really no game effects.

Honest.

No, really!

I guess I'll just have to start playing Mass Effect again.
The new game is horribly underrated. At the heart of it, it's really just a redo of the first game's space exploration. The XB1 version isn't glitchy save for a few minor bits, and the open world-ness can be overwhelming, but I think it's in a good way. I've been playing it a lot and enjoying it tremendously. The combat has definitely improved over the previous games.

(And really, this game is spoilertastic for the entire original trilogy. But it's been a few years...) :faint:

Maybe it's you llama.
I don't care about recency bias. You apparently do.
But you're willing to let past instances of Civ Llama getting lynched early decide your play in this game.

Is "recency" a word?

Correct- that's out of courtesy, not strategy.

Yes. It's the nounal version of "recent."

I would think that allowing him that "courtesy" so recently all the way to Mafia Llama beating you and winning the game would alleviate some of that inclination. How many times, in your estimation, will it take for Llama to beat you before the scales are balanced, and you'll treat him like other players?

Or is this actually a strategic attitude on your part in this particular game? Maybe.

What you have described is recency bias. What llama did elsewhere has no bearing on who he is here. Therefore, it doesn't matter to me. The fact that he gets lynched so often Day 1 for just being himself is a different matter. I'm inclined to allow him that courtesy until I can form an opinion that is independent of (or in light of) his Day 1 silliness. None of that precludes me from lynching him Day 3 or 4.
Long Con wrote:How many times, in your estimation, will it take for Llama to beat you before the scales are balanced, and you'll treat him like other players?
Now you're coupling it with gambler's fallacy thinking.

By this logic, I should be lynched Day 1 every single time.

It is quite strategic.

What's my strategy? What am I trying to accomplish?

I just think it's a comfortable place to be. You didn't vote Llama, so you didn't lynch a Civ. You didn't defend him as a Civ, so it doesn't look like you knew he was Civ. You just quietly sat in a corner and lamented the lynch of Llama in a broader, multigame sense. Difficult to criticize that stance. Epi protested softly against the Civ lynch. And if Llama had turned up bad, hey, Epi wasn't technically defending him. His opinion had nothing to do with this game at all. So, that's safe.

A careful, comfortable place to be. Nothing suspicious about Epi, he's just a broad-minded, sympathetic, sensitive guy who wants everyone to have a fair shake.

MP is always bad. He just has that sort of luck with Random.org. No, I'm not bad. In fact, my first post of this game was to point that out.
I haven't actually rolled a bad role in ages now. I'm on a long stretch of town roles these days. I'm loving it. :slick:
So you're saying you're overdue...
The only legitimately evil role I have ever received is in a one night mafia game where I rolled solo werewolf. Every other game has been town or neutral survivor.

The town trend has continued here.
