No one talked at night because that is part of the rules in the original Mafia party game. Mafia would acknowledge one another by gestures rather than words. There was no "BTSC" in original Mafia either, but we have it now.
How did the first game of mafia get started.

I've actually played Mafia in person. You sit in a circle and people have to close their eyes at Night. Mafia acknowledge one another and gesture at whom to kill. During the Day, everyone talks. So on and so forth.

My first time playing mafia was as a kid in summer camp, while stranded in the middle of the forest in a rainstorm. But it's even more fun when you turn it into a drinking game!

Hey Bea, unfortunately not much has happened in this game that can be discussed in bullet points. We finally got a baddie, MP, who made a lot of posts and mentioned a lot of players, and Mongoose was lynched for dubious reasons but later rezzed, but other than that we've just been churning along, waiting for something to take us into the next stage of the game. I'd say the MP lynch is the turn that we needed.

Weird that you wouldn't elaborate on your Hedgecase, Epi. Three people asked for more but you continued to refer to those two posts you made. But in those posts you don't really make any substantial points, just quoting her and making somethings out of small nothings (like how she didn't want to vote for you when you were insanified, or how she was going to be targeting top posters instead of low posters). It's probably your weakest case yet. In fact seems like all you were really trying to do was goad Hedgeowl to keep responding to you.

I don't necessarily trust Hedgeowl, but I see nothing of merit so far in your suspicion of her. I would, however, very much like it if those big quotey posts stopped getting quoted.... talk about a headache to scroll through.

Was I asked to elaborate on anything specific? I was asked if my suspicion was based on Hedgeowl surviving a kill. I made a big post on Hedgeowl. Two. Why would I get asked that?

Ok, as I read the unfolding lynch of MP Turnip Head's crusade to get WOG lynched instead of MP really jumped out at me. It looked very much like he was trying to save a teammate...
Turnip Head wrote:I believe MP to be civ and don't really want to see him lynched. I'll be voting WOG. No posts and no votes, I'd rather lose WOG on a 50/50 chance of being baddie than lose MP, who's making contributions and while it may not have led to anything yet, I do want to give him more time to help us find baddies. Plus I don't believe DFaraday answered the question of whether or not WOG was looking for a replacement. While I don't want to make assumptions based on the lack of a host post, My gut is telling me that WOG is a baddie who couldn't be replaced by an undead BWT. If other people are feeling like MP is worth saving but don't know who else to vote for, I offer WOG as an alternative for your vote. Not much, but meh, that seems to be the story of this game so far.

It would be a shame to lynch the most active player in the thread for not much at all, especially when there seems a decent number of people who believe that he's innocent. But he could be baddie scum for all I know. I just really don't want to lose another civ today.

For what it's worth, I fight just as hard for my life when I'm civvie as when I'm baddie. I'm pretty sure I've seen MP do the same. I don't know why anyone wouldn't.
Then this exchange looked extremely canned to me...

Interesting. I don't disagree with your WOG sentiment here; in fact, I empathize. However, you don't find that anyone who currently has votes is worth voting for instead?
Turnip Head wrote:Not really MP. Out of the people who currently have votes the only one I have any suspicion of is Boomslang, and I can't even really articulate my suspicion of him, let alone vote on it. While I feel strongly that you are civ, I also don't want to vote on a half-assed suspicion to save you and potentially cause a different civ to get lynched instead. I don't really feel bad about losing WOG though... She is likely not using her role if she's civ, and it's been two weeks since the game started. I really don't think she intends to play.

Point well-illustrated.

I'm still holding my vote though because I obviously don't know what's going to happen.

Linkitis: Ahhhh!! More vote spread! While I understand both WOG and Sorsha votes... actually more so than most of the others who have 1 vote, this is scaring me. Definitely still holding my vote.
Turnip Head wrote:I'll say that I like my completely circumstantial, no actual evidence case on WOG more than I like the case on Sorsha. I feel that Sorsha is one of the most mis-read players in the game Not unlike MP. Although she's definitely not as talkative :P
MovingPictures07 wrote:Dammit, I didn't necessarily PLAN on staying up until past midnight.

And what you say TH is precisely why I've been so wishy washy on Sorsha.
Then this after the flip post read like scrambling to cover his butt...
Turnip Head wrote:Wow, that might have been the craziest lynch I've ever been a part of. I guess this is where I hand in my badge and scumradar. MP had me fooled pretty well. Good job those of you who saw through him, we finally got a baddie!
Just watching all this play out, my gut was positively screaming that these guys were on a team together. I will likely vote TH tomorrow I think.

Also, I think it is funny you all thought I had info. I did not have info. I voted MP for exactly the reasons I said I did. If my post seemed short and to the point it was because I was tired and too lazy to go find my iPad so I posted from my smart tv, which took forever for those just short little posts.

Anyway, that is my two cents.

Yes, in a lynch where votes were obviously not unified the best shot of unifying enough voters to save him would be to vote out someone who is clearly not participating. It would have been their best shot to save him and still try to avoid being obvious.

baby still awake... :wall:

We are all clearly using the word "save" differently. MP had 4 votes, so it wasn't a last minute save vote that any of us made exactly. It's that there was a "save" effort that happened in the thread. TH initiated a possible option, you voted 2nd (why btw if it wasn't to save MP? That was TH's whole reason to vote WOG and for the rest of us), and then MP tried to gauge where the last votes would go so he could hope to save himself. It wasn't guaranteed for sure, but there wasn't a lot of thread consensus since K4J and I actually wanted to vote MR, but were debating how civ we thought MP was. Also, I didn't suspect Bass, Lizzy, or Sorsha and that's why I didn't vote for them. Those were people MP suspected and was trying to get consensus on to save himself.

I've had good vibes on TH so far in the game, this does make me wonder but I don't think it's enough to say I am suspicious of him. He seemed fairly civ to me in earlier on.

What other definitions of "save" am I not aware of? I'm only aware of one in this context.

I voted for wrathofgod because I wanted WOG lynched. The end.

I had a vote on me. And you voted me Day 3. You still suspect me. Why did me being insane keep you from voting me when I had a vote? If you're insane, I will vote you in a heartbeat if I think you're bad. Count on it.

You wanted WOG lynched? Why? I mean she was suspicious as hell obviously, but you realize of 6 voters you are the only one to claim that. :p

I voted you on the equivalent of my Day 1 and you clearly weren't getting lynched. No I don't like to vote for insanified players unless its later in the game and I feel much more certain. I tend to agree with SVS that it sucks if it happens and you can't defend yourself. Don't worry I will still consider you tomorrow if it makes you feel better. :)

She's bad because you don't read the thread.

Well was that really necessary? I read the thread, I was asking for YOUR opinion but I guess that would be too much work.
What the hell? Too much work? I gave my opinion. I actually spent an hour putting that first big post together. And I just reposted my opinion. Would you like me to post it for a third time? I really don't understand what you want.

If you're looking for a summary, you won't get one from me. If you did read the thread, you would know my opinion regarding Hedgeowl quite clearly.

In summary, I don't believe you, Dom or Eloh actually read shit.
Actually, Epig, I do. :) Sometimes, though, the site glitches (or maybe I'm fucking up), and the thread doesn't start where I left off and I don't notice. It will skip a few posts. Your posts must have been a part of that, as I don't remember ever seeing them.
However, I have a question about this. Do you think this is really indicative of a baddie Hedgeowl? Do you think a baddie Hedgeowl would act like that? I think it's possible. But I don't know. I didn't see this Hedgie in LOST Mafia where we were bad together. :)

Night 5 - Sunday, Bloody Sunday

Summerslam was once again upon us!!! All the wrestlers were gearing up for their big matches on the biggest show of the summer. Backstage, MR warmed up for his match against the ever-obnoxious Damien Sandow. However, it was not to be. Vince McMahon burst into MR's dressing room.

"What are you doing here, Vince?" asked MR.

"How dare you address the Chairman like that!" exclaimed the boss. "I was coming out here to wish you luck, but now I see that you don't need it. You need...a machete!"

With that, Mr. McMahon pulled out a machete from his suit jacket. "For Shane!" he yelled, then plunged it into MR's chest.

Out at the ring, Damien Sandow waited for an opponent who would never arrive. Finally he just grabbed the mic.

"Since my opponent's tardiness has prevented his dissection at my hands, I hereby declare myself the victor of this bout via forfeit! You're welcome."

***************************************************************************

Triple H was on the prowl. He had been killing a lot lately, and he'd developed an insatiable desire to take out anyone who got in his way. There was one man who was too much of a threat - Epignosis. HHH tracked Epig to the parking lot, then made his move. He jumped out of the shadows with his sledgehammer, but Epig saw him at the last second and ducked. Unfortunately, Dom just happened to be walking next to Epig, and the hammer collided with him. Triple H fled the scene, but when Epig went to check on Dom it was too late.

*****************************************************************************

MR has been killed by the Corporation.
Dom has been killed by Triple H.

It is now day. You have 48 hours to lynch someone.

Promo time!
WOOO!!! Let me tell you, I have met some crazy guys in my time, but there is NOBODY who's got anything on the Dirtiest Player in the Game. Now I know some of you think you're dirty, but SVS, MR, Devin, no matter what you do, you can't outsmart the Nature Boy!!! And K4J, Epi, Daisy & Lou, I know you've got Naitch's back, so whoever you no-good rats are, you've got a heck of a team to deal with! Because leading the way is the stylin', profilin', limousine ridin', jet flyin', kiss-stealin', wheelin'-dealin' SON OF A GUN, the Nature Boy, Ric Flair!!! WOOOOO!!!
"Let me tell you brother, there's only six I trust. I trust myself. That's one. I trust Mongoose. That's two. I trust Epignosis. That's three. I trust kneel4justice. That's four. And I trust a set of 24-inch pythons. That's six.

I fear no Captain Bunny Killer, no Hedgeowl, or evil, brother.

To all the little Mafia-wannabes out there, say your prayers and take your vitamins...I'm still going to hunt you down."

I wasn't really thinking you had info but that you were on the same team.

Your thoughts on TH are good though, something else to ponder.

Rest in peace, MR and Dom. Ric Flair's post is full of awesome.

I admit that I don't come out of the MP lynch looking great. I was fairly convinced he was a civvie and voted according to that belief. I'm surprised that WOG ended up with as many votes as she did because at the time I was the only one really considering a WOG vote.

But your post on me, Daisy, is just a bunch of quotes where MP mentioned my name or asked me a question, and where I responded to something about him. Just posting those quotes all in order... that's not analysis and it lacks any sort of context with what was happening in the thread at the time of these actions. MP mentioned a ton of people, not just me. MP was trying to get all sorts of people lynched yesterday instead of him, but I didn't like any of his suspects and so I went with my own suspicion and voted WOG. I had no idea anyone else would agree with me.

And if my WOG vote was an attempt to save a teammate, it probably would be the worst attempt ever, and not something I would consider if I were MP's teammate. Especially since he ended up being Shane, basically that team's least useful role and one they would probably rather have lynched since he gave the baddies an extra night phase.

I expected to get called out eventually for being a WOG voter, but I find your post on me really odd. I'm wondering if MP put you up to it before he died. "Hey, try to go after TH, he comes out of my lynch looking really bad!"

linki: k4j, the baddies' decisions on who to kill have definitely been odd, yes, but I tend not to question it as long as it's not me or people I feel good about.

Well ship and a steamboat, I've got my work cut out for me today. I just want you to know I will take this next vote very seriously as someone who is unlikely to be voted. And I promise not to steer the thread into unprecedented levels in chaos sheerly through whimsy and watermelon iced tea.

Vomps, as my fellow Lazarus kin, do you have any opinions on where we should start today? We've got about 36 hours today, and I want to:

1. Make an excellent vote.
2. Not be led astray.
3. Assist where possible.

I am actually trying to do a thorough read of the first 30 pages. I believe Epi was claiming he didn't suspect K4J in the beginning, but that is definitely not how it reads in thread. Just leaving this little MP nugget here. In my current thought Epi is either Indy or baddie and this is MP deflecting for a teamie.

RIPiywg MR and Dom! I am quite surprised by these kills actually.

That was certainly unexpected~ It might be worth reading back on MRs suspicions. I looked over the roles, and the team that killed him has a role checker so perhaps suspicion of him was off base.

I got the impression the way the post was written that the SK tried a kill on Epi, but Dom died instead. Could be just for drama, but Faraday has not been writing that way up to this point, not sure why he would start now.

I was not getting the warm fuzzies from Dom, though, and (much as he might dislike being associated with "warm fuzzies") I HAVE been getting them from Epi. So

And Dom could not be the SK, Lizzy, if Faraday has been showing all of the kill attempts (and it appears he has been). HHH survives the first kill on him.

Also @ LIzzy~ where did you see me do that? I am rumored to do so, but in general i don't throw people as hard as I would have had to be throwing MP in this context, and in a traditional game set up (which is all I have played with you) i don't do it unless there is no hope. I dislike faux distancing as well, which is known, which is what I would have been had to be doing earlier in the game.

I will have to look back to see what games we have played together. If i am wrong, i am sorry, but i really don't recall doing any hard throwing in the recent past.

I just quickie looked in in the HOF, and the only big game here that may have happened was Grimm, and i tried hard to keep my whole team alive in that one. I was a civvie in most of the speed games that i could see, or otherwise had no teammates.

There was Supernatural at RM, but there was no hard throwing there either. I did not draw suspicion on anyone on my team, as i totally HATE when people do that, which anyone who has had BTS with me knows (other than in Survivor, or similar LMS games) and only vote for them when they are already going down.

This would cover our game playing history, and i don't see where you might have seen me do that.

K, I should have been out of here 20 minutes ago, turning off the laptop, putting the phone across the house, lol.

For both SVS and Hedgie, I was thinking about the Supernatural game in particular. I know I have not been too active on that, but one thing that struck me was SVS's cool voting record on those stats one of the players used to post. I very rarely judge someone based on their voting record because most of the time my votes are all over the place, whether bad or civ. Anyway, SVS is not a primary suspect for me, not now anyway, and a mea culpa in Dom's case.

Hedgie, I don't know what peeps you would have targeted, but dayum, HHH's hit list thus far looks a lot like what I would have done if in his shoes. :mafia:

MR has been killed by the Corporation.
Dom has been killed by Triple H.

It is now day. You have 48 hours to lynch someone.
Oh wow, MR too? And Dom. Hmm...I don't remember having any thoughts about Dom but I was a little suspicious of MR. Guess I was wrong on that one

Well, thanks to you Epi, I now have the first two votes. Explain to me how this isn't a bandwagon you started? Sadly, Lizzy and Elo didn't even have good reasons, but you provided an excellent choice for people to latch onto if they need an easy vote.

Please explain to me what possible baddie you think I actually could be, because I am not alone in thinking you had a pretty weak "case" on me. I most definitely would not have killed Dom (He was actually defending me and noted this isn't my baddie style). He is 100% correct and several others in this game who have had baddie BTSC with me know how I avoid/ignore Epi as much as possible to not draw attention to myself. :disappoint:

Several people seem to trust Epi and maybe I would more if I finished the 20 pages I have to catch up, and he wasn't working really hard to get me lynched. However, based on what he has said about his survival, the odds do seem to be in his favor that he is actually a civ when looking at roles.

So one civ to a possible other, keep me alive yo!

While I am flattered that you think I have an 18 in charisma and a back pocket full of charm scrolls, I have but one vote. That's it. I don't control what anyone else thinks or what anyone else does.

The problem with this defense lies in your second post. The one where you said you would "try a different tactic." In that post, you implicitly asked us to not consider previous Hedgeowl styles and methods. You can't have it both ways.

If your time zone / sleeping pattern permits it, the best thing to do is wait until the final moments of the Night period to say what you need to say. Most likely the PMs will already be sent and won't be amended.
