I picked sprityo. Don't really remember why, I guess I liked the way he was trying to organize things.

Because there are no power roles meaning the only tools we have are in the thread, working together to suss out the assimilated. If someones NOT here doing that, they're weighing us down.

And if they happen to be bad and they miss a kill, we're not stuck wondering if a kill didn't go through because of an inactive or because of a friendly-fire scenario, which when THAT happens, dramatically shifts the game.

I wanted to note, because the kill rotates among the assimilated, they will know how many of theme there are which is an advantage to them. This was probably very clear to everyone but I thought it was worth mentioning.
Initial impression: Trying to seem useful to the town while presenting information that "was probably very clear to everyone". Strikes me as a bit off, but Eloh is so often Mega-Manned that I don't want to do that to her this game and I won't be voting for her Day 1 at least.

I'll explain this post now:

Turnip Head wrote: Thu Oct 18, 2018 8:35 pm I have a feeling speedchuck's gonna be spittin fire on account of being the boring and sensible candidate... but I feel like we're gonna miss out on a fun wrinkle to the game
You better cross your fingers that I'm not as popular as everyone says I am.
"I have a feeling we're gonna lynch speedchuck even though I don't wanna" Is a semi-defeatist cop-out type of a statement. What makes chuck the sensible candidate :P Mucho suspecto.
I think he thought I was going to get elected.

Also Eloh's information is wrong, as I pointed out. As quin said, might even be a town slip. Not so useful.

For the record I voted DDL when there were no posts in the game and then never changed it.

Why you guys gave the fire gun to the person with the least knowledge of game setup, I'll never know. (Is it because he's probably town? It might be because he's probably town.)

Speed very well could be good trying to win the game, I guess I was thinking of some recent games where he wasn’t acting like that as town (Hydra and U-Pick) but Courage he did, so, nevermind that.

Sprit and Eloh have both, to some degree, messed up information that scum probably would have. Plausible townslips. I'd rather not lynch either of them at this point.

I agree that killing inactives might be important because if we can't win anonymous elections during the day, we won't even have a 'lynch' to use.
Actually if we publicize our votes and stick together, it's not that different from a normal lynch. I'd leave inactives, especially Macdougall, in the clear until tomorrow.

Dragon D. Luffy I picked Speedchuck, I liked his proposal the most compared to other candidates. If he's picked he would execute the one with the most vote. Seems good for D1, a bit boring maybe but better than picking some random dude with no clear proposal on how they would use the flamethrower :tunes:

I was sort of thinking this too, but actually, I’ve only seen going after an inactive on D1 work once (Easter) and only once, I think. I’m not sure if it’s ever worked on another phase in a game I’ve played.

And what if he ia civ? That's a stupid reason to vote him so soon. Give the guy a chance and go after someone you think is bad. Unless you are bad and are just trying to get rid of people you think could be civ. Maybe that's it
I mean I'm open to suggestions. I just really don't have a good idea of who to vote for on Day 1.

I don't know what this is. The whole game has been talking about this mechanic, and Sprityo has talked about how he'll handle the flamethrower.

I'll be the first to admit that I have no idea what your town game looks like, but what I've seen so far isn't great.

Elohcin wrote: Thu Oct 18, 2018 3:23 pm Hey guys...checking in. Not sure who I'll vote for yet.

You better cross your fingers that I'm not as popular as everyone says I am.
"I have a feeling we're gonna lynch speedchuck even though I don't wanna" Is a semi-defeatist cop-out type of a statement. What makes chuck the sensible candidate :P Mucho suspecto.
I think he thought I was going to get elected.

Also Eloh's information is wrong, as I pointed out. As quin said, might even be a town slip. Not so useful.
Oh then I misunderstood TH's fire remarks. Womp Womp. Also, the only really sensible option is me.

Also Eloh's information is not wrong. The kill does rotate between Assimilated so if it takes Ass #1 two nights after their original kill to get another kill in, then Ass #1 knows there are 2 more mafia in the game. Eloh was correct.

I already addressed the post. They won't know until day four at the earliest. If there are four scum, push that to like day 8 for some of them.
It's not factually wrong, but it demonstrates a misconception of the time involved. The game could literally be over before some of them know how many assimilated there are.

And what if he ia civ? That's a stupid reason to vote him so soon. Give the guy a chance and go after someone you think is bad. Unless you are bad and are just trying to get rid of people you think could be civ. Maybe that's it
It's just a vote though, and the only one on him. Over-reacting much?

Actually if we publicize our votes and stick together, it's not that different from a normal lynch. I'd leave inactives, especially Macdougall, in the clear until tomorrow.

As an aside for mechanics involving the flamethrower, If there is a tie in the lynch poll i choose one of the people tied

or i just burn whoever i want.

I really need you guys to sell me on some lynches here
How about you sell us on some lynches? If you're intending on using the flamethrower in a democratic way (following the lynch poll), then this game shouldn't be any different of any other game where you would be trying to get the person you believe is bad lynched.

If you look back earlier, I already addressed Eloh's comment, and she accepted the correction. I then used the word "wrong" in my later post instead of "wisleading/conveying a misunderstanding" and you jumped on that. That's you bringing up unnecessary semantics.
