I haven't. I mostly agreed with the post LC made laying out why he voted for him, but it's LC, and from what I recall he tends to give better reasons for votes when he isn't civ than when he is, so I don't think I'll be voting using his argument unless I actually get a read on him, which atm I don't.

DF is being DF. Getting a post or two each phase from him is typical. In the past, I've always been fine with lynching him for it (and often argued for it), because either he gets lynched early for it, or he skates to the end of the game after people bring it up and it largely gets ignored. If the lynch goes in his direction today, I'd be fine with that. But it's only ever my first choice when I have no actual suspicions, and I think we got enough to work with from D1 that we could get another baddie today with the information available if we're smart about it, whereas with DF, lynching him is just a random result that might (but statistically probably won't) go well, but even if it does, won't give any actual information to then use going forward.

I already voted for Hyena. At the moment, I'm satisfied leaving it there.
Is the main reason because he was driving for a tie?

As I've stated, I don't think what he was doing was open-wolfing by any stretch. I fully agree with Hyena's tactic of trying to have tied wagons close to EoD. I don't think anyone literally wanted a tie; we just wanted it to be close to potentially expose some wolves once we see how players flip.
Not so much that he was driving for a tie (other people were doing that too, and it isn't enough reason to get my attention on them), and moreso how he went about trying to do it. I can see the strategy of moving things around so mafia have a harder time pinning down how to work out if they need to bus or not, but I didn't feel like that was his goal. The asking me to help draw a tie, for no particularly good reason (things were already getting busy at the time he did that, so votes were moving around enough without my being relevant to it) doesn't sit right with me. Nothing from him today has made me feel any better. He seems to be pick and choosing what to reply to pretty carefully, and I don't trust that.

I did read over LA and wound up not feeling as bad about her as I did going in after looking at things on the whole.

At some point it did bring my attention to iaafr (who I know isn't in our thread, but I think it's still worth bringing up) though, who I also then read over and I now wish I could vote for because those vote flips in the last hour and a half of D1 (from Drago to Epi to 112 to... no lynch, where he ended up) just looks reeeeeeeeally bad to me.

I am really too paranoid for this, you know??? Especially in situations that can be anticipated by the mafia team, a townslip can be premeditated. But maybe I have not seen the same thing that you saw.

I don't understand, you only asked for one quote and her ISO is only one page, lol. But I do think Creature is town, just for a different reason.
I'm suggesting that his apathy is villagery because he seems unconcerned with how it'll be perceived. I anticipate if he were a wolf he would try to appear helpful to avoid criticism.
Oh I see. Yes I think you're right about that.

boo, I totally agree about iaafr. Going through those votes I was thinking what the hell and then the land on no lynch was just bizarre given the circumstances.

I seem to be off the mark on TL because unlike everyone else I don't see his case on Drago to be weak for a Day 1 case. Many of the rest of you voted Drago, what were your reasons?
He had a few wolfy posts I'm too lazy to pull up. In one he had this attitude about "catching" Mac in a TMI that seemed super fake. Also, when mac started getting votes he had the wolfiest pop-in to tell us he was working on a case against Mac.
Him not showing up on Tuesday what-so-ever meant he was worse than 112/tony/TL in my mind. And finally, I REALLY liked the people on the Drago wagon compared to the others.
Ok so TL mentions Mac in his reasons but he wasn't as specific as you were and he cites Drago not being around on Tuesday as another reason. Hopefully some others will respond too, thank you for yours.
Trustworthy Liberal listed four points. The first point is indicated as NAI. The fourth point, not showing up, is also NAI for me, because I tend to assume that life got in the way. The second point was on a Day 0 case, I believe, which must be shallow by necessity. The third point makes sense if you expect Dragomir to be analytic; he wasn't, but neither is Trustworthy Liberal, who also has little progression on Dragomir. As written, it's a weak case. And therein lies the rub: I would not expect Trustworthy Liberal to produce a strong written case as town, either. He basically decides he wants to vote Dragomir, reads the ISO, and then supports the vote with thoughts derived from that reading.

You should place a vote. :P

That goes for @DFaraday , @novaselinenever , and @Rej, too, even though they haven't been active.
Hyena if you remember i am very reluctent to vote every since it got me killed in my first forum game thats why am ready the Dragomir person first
Trustworthy Liberal wrote: Tue Oct 29, 2019 5:07 pm Okay just finshed Dragomir's ISO don't see multy quotes so heres my thoughts on him

-Seemed to go alittle far with evenstar (not alignment indicative)
-Made a case on 112 based off characters claims saying that a town wouldn't play that way but the case became empty due to random characters
-Not a lot of depth short anwsers threw shade on Mac leaving his vote there before leaving
-hasn't posted in thread since early yesterday morning (my time atleast)

Don't think this is enough to call him 100% scum but i don't think he has been pushing a town presence would love if he could come back and post a little. I know this is ironic coming from me but atleast am here now.

Conclusion
----------------
Scum lean on him based off what he did push when he was fairly active so willing to lynch this today, him missing for a long period doesn't make him look any better either.

(someone tell me the command for voting i didn't see it when i looked sorry for being a bother)
This is indistinguishable from scum manufacturing a case, except that Trustworthy Liberal does it overtly.

@Trustworthy Liberal, why did you read Dragomir's ISO before placing your vote? It seems to me that you had already decided to vote Dragomir before you read the ISO. Why did you want to vote for Dragomir in the beginning, before you read his ISO? Why did you pick him, and not another wagon?
The fact that it is overt is something that gives me pause about my vote. Would scum be so overt?

One more thing and I'll shut up.

In some of the games I've played where they split up the thread, once you are back with the big group you no longer have access to the split thread. Some you do have access. Because of that I'm saving some stuff in word documents like my voting records. You might want to do the same.

Shouldn't be a problem, this is the 'real' thread, since we have the whole post history. They would have had to make a new one for the other group(s), can't copy and paste them. Unless they blow up this thread and move everyone to the other one. That'd be kinda evil though.

I just finished vanity's iso and I didn't read anything that screams "town" at me like I thought I remembered. One thing I didn't like was when she (she is a she right?) used some vague words like "stiff" and "conservative" to define me, offered to bring up some posts to someone as examples, but then when I asked for examples she wouldn't do it. I'm not calling her scum but my lean on her is more "slightly town" than definitively town.

The Elephant brain take of today's events is depressing. We started off with vanity. suggesting to look at a group of 5 players only, those whom I have mentally dubbed The Expendables, and despite my protests, this is largely what we have been doing. The fruit of this effort leaves us no wiser than before. DFaraday is still absent. Boo acted as I did, and voted outside the box, but found no traction. Trustworthy Liberal stayed in character and stood up for himself. Long Con actually made a case inside the box, and we looked at it and said "meh". Juliets was Juliets, digging. Elephant was Elephant, seeds and all.

vanity. is absent. Long Con's D1 vote looks like a bus, but his rainbow reads already have Dragomir at the bottom. We are looking at the votes that were called out; Juliets, do you know if there were votes that had no call-outs? We have somehow been treading water all day, and I wonder why.

I am going to be absent later on as I need to be a Singing Elephant today. I hope to be back in time to maybe sling my vote somewhere else and not stay on my vanity wagon, and who knows if I'll ever have an opportunity for that pun again.

Ok so you saw in my posts why he was calling me stiff and conservative - good to know. I just don't really get why that equals scum, but we come from different cultures so I have to keep that in mind.

Elephant, unfortunately I do not know if there were votes that weren't called out except for my own vote where I later said "I forgot my call out" and did it in the thread. There were a couple of votes (vanity was one I remember) where the person called the vote out but didn't vote in the poll.

The major wagon tallies came out right in the end in my Oct. 29 vote details so I felt like everyone had called out their vote on that day at least. (I didn't bother checking the tallies on the people who had 1 or maybe 2 votes.)

Ok thanks for clearing that up.

Hyena forget my question about your Epi vote, I just found the answer in your ISO. You said others were scum reading him so you wanted to get him to engage with you and test other's reactions. I just didn't remember him being scum read on Day 0 (your vote was first thing after Day 1 started).

Looking a little at Spiny's ISO today.
Spiny Creature wrote: Sun Oct 27, 2019 6:16 am ok if i'm gonna start posting from the point I'm caught up at, these were my ~vibes~

anyway Eva is town. and not JUST because her savagery in response to Drago's flirting attempts was the most beautiful effortless thing she's ever done. (more because of her responses to iaafr and 112). Her read that Drago continuing that flirting so long was trying to force conversation, thus scummy, was not one that would've occurred to me, but ig she could be right there.

I do not understand where iaafr's "always town" read of 112 started or came from or what the vibe is that he likes, even though he has since made posts explaining it. i like other posts of iaafr and his overall tone, but that whole read is so ???? to me.

lol at Mac saying he's policy never-lynching me and then immediately asking other people to build a case on me :P that and some overly defensive early posts / questioning things I thought were obvious had me side-eyeing him. but i liked his later posts. will see how he engages with Eva.

I do vibe with IAAFR saying that there's too much "hey i like this guy" and "this guy can be town" going on. from loose recollection Hyena and Epi felt like offenders there. Hyena maybe felt less sincere? this is loose memory.
This is a nice post that bears remembering (especially if the thread is lost to us in the future).

The Eva part is worth analysis, after Drago's flip. If the Eva-Drago thing was a distancing ploy between them as someone suggested, then it looks bad on Spiny. He does offer an offhanded nod about Drago's scumminess, but I don't know if I could craft a weaker agreement. Even with Eva being town in this scenario, Spiny looks a little shady. Scum lean over here.

He almost suspects iiafr for the odd 112 townread, but he turns it around shortly after when he gets caught up to iaafr's updated opinions, which looks pretty good to me. Could be a w-w strategy kind of thing, but I'd lean town on it.

The Mac part doesn't make me lean either way, but bringing it back to Eva is :ponder: .

So much for looking at the ISO - I got to this post and used up all my time. Oh well, I'll post it, and I'll be around a few more times before the Day's end. Right now, I feel like I could vote for Spiny. Not my old pal boo, just Spiny.

Ugh as much as I feel attached to my spiny suspicion I have to say boo is looking town now. I think his takes are largely misguided due to culture clash, but I think he really believes them.

Gonna move to [VOTE: vanity] aubergine for some pressure. Where you been dude? Kinda seems like you're coasting

vanity. you don't have a huge number of D2 posts, and in most of them you have some focus on whether or not certain players were on the Drago wagon and ensuring that we consider potential bussing. I feel like we all reached a consensus that yes we need to look for bussers but somehow your contributions stop there and you haven't been very active in our actual hunting activity so far. If it's just a time issue I won't hold it against you but I do expect a little more when you're available.

I changed to the computer to do a proper multi-quote ISO. The takeaway:
- Vanity tunnels Juliets from the star, never re-evaluates
- vanity is quite self-conscious on how towny he's being
- vanity thinks Benson subtly shading him as a wolf, Benson denies
- vanity stalls any initiative to introduce structured conversation
- vanity votes players pushing her: he votes me for suggesting that he could have engaged Jack instead of observing that no group talk was happeneing, and votes Michelle for pushing him over that unmotivated vote
- vanity's reads have very obvious strong player bias
- vanity attempts an in-thread ISO of Michelle
- vanity announces intent to "kill Drago" at -1:45, his reason on the actual vote is "don't want epi lynched"
- vanity establishes a D2 pool of suspects along his old, biased reads
- vanity skips a day
- Subjectively, vanity does not feel like the town!vanity from wildcards 1.

Actually, that's more than I remembered seeing. I'm less happy with this ISo than I am with Trustworthy Liberal's, because I can understand Trusrtworthy Liberal, but I do not understand this.

To be fair, I've not seen your scum game. But I read you in G7 (you died as I subbed in) and watched you in in WC1, and you play this game similarly to how I do. Everything I see from you so far has been so pure, IMO.

How would you describe your wolf range, then?
my wolf range, huh...

while i haven't wolfed on forum before, and this game is another non-turbo village game from me, because randing wolf is impossible for some reason, but i'm the powerwolf type. a lot of people that know me from dm wouldn't give v reads on me this early, because they know i can give compelling thoughts on the game as a wolf.

i'd post around the same as either alignment. if i'm in the thread, i'm posting. that's all there really is to it. if you think i'm pure, cool. i don't think you're a wolf at the moment, so i'm comfortable with this.

Idk if I trust you completely though. But I mostly agree with your do not lynch list at least.
that's fine, i haven't been overtly obvious villager with my spam-y posting at tbe moment but i'm trying when i can

you might've picked up on it, but if hyena and evenstar perceive their town games to be similar, and they're not finding each other, it's making me think something is there. though i understand any given game a disconnect can happen between 2 villas, as i've seen it before elsewhere

eva is definitely more in her chaos-posty archetype too but i don't want to touch her at all

why does pawn have to be right in this instance? and more importantly, why is pawn towny to you? and if pawn is a wolf, what does that mean for iaafr and mac's alignments?
Why are you pushing for associative reads? Isn't this too early into the game?
i'm not the one pushing for associative reads? eva is saying that pawn saying mac and iaafr are town, makes mac and iaafr town. i'm not the one that is making that association, eva is making it. hence why i'm questioning her.
I find this notable, because Evenstar had stated that Pawn would usually be correct in his reads independent of his alignment. MIchelle's question was well justified.

vanity interprets Mac's initiative to require specific times, and then sets a schedule that is hard to match. By contrast, Juliets just set out to working and addressing her group as soon as she was online, because a forum is an asynchronous medium that does not require scheduling a date to get engaged. In comparison, vanity is stalling, and Juliets is not.

Hyena
Just read through Hyena's ISO so gonna sort through some thoughts.

Note instead of reproducing whole quotes for the most part I just lifted the parts that were relevant and put them in italics (except for the quote in the spoiler tag). If anyone wants post number I can get them

Regarding Spiny -

At the end of the poking and prodding of Spiny she said she was leaving. Hyena's response was "WAIT NO! I’ll be serious for a second!”
indicating to me he might have just been poking her for reaction.

He goes on to make this statement as he is discussing here:
"On the other hand, if she's townreading me, she's exercising a lot of patience with me right now in spite of me intentionally playing dense" which also seems like he was just poking for reaction.

Then later he says he will give an "actual read" on Spiny at which point Epi says:
" ''Actual read", were there phony ones?" And Hyena responds: "yes".

And then finally, when he was asked if he could explain what he was doing with Spiny he had the following reply (putting in spoilers because it's a little long):
Spoiler: show
So, the first time I mentioned Spiny, I was comparing her way of just mentioning me in her post to Dragomir's way of asking me about it directly. I liked the way Dragomir approached me about, and plus, I figured it might get Spiny's attention if I spoke up about it. However, I think I got sidetracked with something or someone else because I forgot I had prodded her until she spoke up again while I was around.

It was at that point I just figured I'd return to that earlier point to see what she'd say. However, I didn't realize she had said that she wanted to catch up first before commenting (yes, I didn't read the entire post, lol). I still wanted to prod her, though, so I just started being troll-y. That's where the "over explanation" and "fence sitting" stuff came from. As for saying she was townreading Pawn, I wasn't completely paying attention to her posts, but it felt like a good thing to say. :3

I already posted what I thought about the interaction earlier. Just to repeat, I did find it odd how eager she was to make me understand what was going on with her and what she was doing. I don't even know if she was scumreading me or not. If she was, I don't know why she didn't just tell me to shut up, lol.

My conclusion is though several people pointed out that Spiny's responses were off, I think we also have to say Hyena's tactics were probably confusing her. She was adamant about not having town read Pawn and Hyena's post makes it sound like he wasn't even really sure he believed that she was. Given what I see here I have a hard time calling Spiny's responses odd or scummy and thus I'm not inclined to vote boo. Is this a legitimate scum hunting tactic? Based on what I've seen in this game I would say it probably is so I don't scum read Hyena for this either.

I would certainly appreciate argument/debate on this and if Hyena thinks I've got it wrong I'd like to hear from him.

Otherwise, there are just a couple of other things I have a questions/comments about:

Hyena, this interaction caught my eye:

Vanity: you might've picked up on it, but if hyena and evenstar perceive their town games to be similar, and they're not finding each other, it's making me think something is there.

Hyena: no comment yet

Can you comment on this yet?

Also the following:
Hyena wrote: Mon Oct 28, 2019 5:06 pm
iaafr wrote: Mon Oct 28, 2019 5:05 pm oh yea tl is probably scum

let's go

[VOTE: trustworthy liberal] aubergine
What if I told you TL was town? :P
Hyena, have you said everything there is to say about TL being town? I know you think he town slipped but that was after you made this comment I think.

Finally, the one thing I really didn't like in your ISO and again this could be a culture thing was you asking boo to vote for 112 to tie it up. I'm torn whether to call it scummy or chalk it up to differences in mafia playing methods and culture.

I'll be around though eating lunch in a bit.

juliets while I see your point about Hyena's odx tactics re: spiny, the thing that bothered me most was when spiny very clearly refused to address two out of three things hyena said because the third one was the pawn townread thing which she (justifiably) found ridiculous. I wasn't gonna make too much of it when it was just a throwaway thought from you, but when it's repeated with the exact same wording ("directly confronting me") 12 hours later, that feels like a static read. and maybe forced.

me in one post: "I'm still catching up and wasn't feeling like replying while still reading, but I do want to reply to this one specific thing from Tony"

me in the very next post: "now that i'm posting i might as well post the loose vibes I have on about 5 people so far, including a vague half-remembered read on Hyena, but these are not replies just memories"

like... dude, the lack of direct reply to you is explained. also "directly confront" as if my read on you wasn't as weaksauce as "I think I remember X scummy thing about Hyena, but not sure, will finish catchup first".

tunneling me for not replying directly to you, when I hadn't replied directly to ANYONE IN THE GAME except for Tony, and then repeating the same wording to explain the scumread 12 hours later, just feels insincere to me.

- vanity thinks Benson subtly shading him as a wolf, @Benson denies
- vanity stalls any initiative to introduce structured conversation
- vanity votes players pushing her: he votes me for suggesting that he could have engaged Jack instead of observing that no group talk was happeneing, and votes Michelle for pushing him over that unmotivated vote

To be fair, I've not seen your scum game. But I read you in G7 (you died as I subbed in) and watched you in in WC1, and you play this game similarly to how I do. Everything I see from you so far has been so pure, IMO.

How would you describe your wolf range, then?
my wolf range, huh...

while i haven't wolfed on forum before, and this game is another non-turbo village game from me, because randing wolf is impossible for some reason, but i'm the powerwolf type. a lot of people that know me from dm wouldn't give v reads on me this early, because they know i can give compelling thoughts on the game as a wolf.

i'd post around the same as either alignment. if i'm in the thread, i'm posting. that's all there really is to it. if you think i'm pure, cool. i don't think you're a wolf at the moment, so i'm comfortable with this.

the fact that they're not finding each other is raising red flags but independently speaking i think both are very villagery
Oh this is an interesting point.

Idk if I trust you completely though. But I mostly agree with your do not lynch list at least.
that's fine, i haven't been overtly obvious villager with my spam-y posting at tbe moment but i'm trying when i can

you might've picked up on it, but if hyena and evenstar perceive their town games to be similar, and they're not finding each other, it's making me think something is there. though i understand any given game a disconnect can happen between 2 villas, as i've seen it before elsewhere

eva is definitely more in her chaos-posty archetype too but i don't want to touch her at all

vanity. wrote: Mon Oct 28, 2019 4:00 pm like eva, i understand that you find pawn to be right very often but...

why does pawn have to be right in this instance? and more importantly, why is pawn towny to you? and if pawn is a wolf, what does that mean for iaafr and mac's alignments?
Why are you pushing for associative reads? Isn't this too early into the game?
i'm not the one pushing for associative reads? eva is saying that pawn saying mac and iaafr are town, makes mac and iaafr town. i'm not the one that is making that association, eva is making it. hence why i'm questioning her.
I find this notable, because Evenstar had stated that Pawn would usually be correct in his reads independent of his alignment. MIchelle's question was well justified.

vanity. wrote: Mon Oct 28, 2019 10:08 pm whatever i guess 10-11 am and 1-2 pm eastern work best for me
vanity interprets Mac's initiative to require specific times, and then sets a schedule that is hard to match. By contrast, Juliets just set out to working and addressing her group as soon as she was online, because a forum is an asynchronous medium that does not require scheduling a date to get engaged. In comparison, vanity is stalling, and Juliets is not.
vanity. wrote: Mon Oct 28, 2019 10:13 pm group 1 is like probably infested with wolves btw lol
vanity is not using teh groups for their intended purpose, and instead launches into a very different discussion that looks like it is engaging with teh groups, but is really just about wolf reads, but not even

Also like she said she "only specifically objects to the last one" which is I guess a passive concession to the other points/admission that she can't defend against them really. I could be convinced that's twtbaw or something but I don't like it at face value.

*narrows eyes*

Spiny Creature wrote: Sun Oct 27, 2019 7:04 pm that said, I gather that you votehop as you remember people and form new reads, based on how much I've seen you voting just in the past few pages.

so if it was just a stray thought from you and not a continued tunnel i find it less static. and therefore less weird.

Spiny Creature wrote: Sun Oct 27, 2019 7:27 pm not gonna quote that whole thing @Hyena but i only specifically object to the last one

no. i just straight up, by no stretch of the imagination, ever townread Pawn. I said to him "hey I haven't seen any of your posts because I left before you, here is a question for you". that is 110% of our interactions at the point where you said I was calling him town.

you can't just manufacture a nonexistent townread on Pawn and then call me "fencesitting" lol

point out where specifically you got the impression I was townreading him with a quote please?
^here. Maybe I'm overblowing it but she outright refuses to acknowledge the other points, which I thought were ok, because she was completely flipping out over the last one being inaccurate. Sort of a caught for the wrong reasons thing going on here.
