Anyway, Agnes died on Night 1 yet she has more posts than these players below even though it is now Day 4. Alizon and Anne are exceptions because they've been replaced, but that leaves seven more players with fewer than 12 posts.

Merga Bien, Alizon Device, Sarah Good, Kael Merrie, Alice Nutter, Margaret Pearson, Karin Svensdotter, Anne Whittle, and Britta Zippel

Resurrection Stone Event Signups

Due to the nature of this event, I am asking any and all willing participants to please pm me (NOT Lizzy and me) with the day/time most convenient for them this weekend. The event may need to be rescheduled if I am not unexpectedly busy.

The event itself is a game that will be played in real time (or at least as close as possible) and is very similar to hot potato. A random player will be given the snitch containing the resurrection stone, and that player has the option to either try and open it, or to pass it to another player who then has the same options. The snitch will only open after a certain number of passes (that is unknown to the players), and if a player attempts to open it before that number is reached, they are out of the game. The winner is the first person to attempt to open it after the number of turns has been reached.
Well, that sounds stressful considering how nerve-wracking it was to just watch The Hurt Locker.

Thanks for the clarification before we descended into chaos.

Seems a bit too...unlikely? for that to really be a badslip.

Interesting, I wonder if this is a result of Hermione casting her spell? The role doesnt say that the results are made public...
These are your last three posts, spread out over roughly 29hours. You didn't answer "a few posts" and you haven't said a thing about this.

You had ample time.
This is a fair point.

This response feels a bit to me much like the response Rebecca Nurse gave to me. I had a legitimate question and somehow it was turned around to I'm a jerk for wanting to keep tabs on her 24/7.

I believe it was Harry that was killed for you to dismiss it so quickly cricked my brow along with the general tone of your posts.

I also do not like how Barbara completely ignored Bridgets last post.

I do not think Entjen should be overlooked just bc she is under some sort of posting restriction. She was front and center for 2 lynches both times we lost important civ roles. I imagine they gave her the restrcition hoping she would be giiven a pass today. I do not like it. It feels all icky and covered with baddie hands.

My vote will go one of these people.
I don't think entjen should be overlooked, but I don't think the case against her is strong enough to warrant voting her under a posting restriction. This goes 2 ways. Either Entjen is a civ and the post restriction makes it impossible for her to defend her self. Or Entjen is bad and it gives her another cycle. I've been lynched more than once under a curse and I was a civ every time. I'd rather - early in the game, give her the benefit of the doubt. I could see baddies cursing her *because* she is so under the microscope. And because someone will say "Entjen is prolly bad and cursed her so she would get the free pass."

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but I won't be voting Entjen while she is cursed. That's not to say - I won't vote her the cycle after that. IDK. That's really my point. I'd rather talk to her than deal with insanity posts.
Jane Southworth wrote:I didn't dismiss anything, Anne Whittle. I agree that it is likely we've lost Harry, but I'm wary of how the information was given to us. Why would the hosts reveal that? And do so on Day 4, when she died on Night 1? Don't you think that is worth looking into, at least a little bit? If you don't want to question it, fine, that's your choice. But I think it's worth looking into and I don't think it's suspicious to want to discern why we are being told now.

I think you might be wrong about Entjen, but either way she is insanified and so I think that discussion should wait until another day. By the way, the insanifier is a civvie role in this game.

I would like to hear from Barbara today as well. I didn't see how big the connection was between her and Jennet until Alizon just brought it up. Barbara has indeed been lurking in Jennet's shadow for most of the game. The only thing Barbara has done differently from Jennet was her vote for Margaret yesterday, a suspicion she never mentioned until she set it up exactly one post before she voted. When Alizon called Barbara out for not responding to Bridget's post, all Barbara said in response was "I stand by my vote".
I agree with all of this. And also - I think it's VERY important to note that the insanifier is a civ role. It can be used for protection. I think maybe Luna felt the jury was still out on Entjen - enough to want to make her insane enough to not vote for her another cycle.

I can't really say anything more about Jennet. Her play has struck me as civ and in this game, trust is hard to come by. But, the irony is that I apparently misunderstood some of her points and leapt to a conclusion that she had not made, so... XD yeah, I'm not sure what to say except that I'm a bit of a spaz...

Ok - I'm a bit confused as to what you think this game Barbara. Please for the slow wiches (that would be me) explain it all out. :)

That's a fair point too - on both ends.

Anna Koldings has 14 posts, and said she would be more active today, but that has not happened yet.

Of the higher posting players, I am getting more civ vibes than baddie ones. Rebecca however stands out to me for the way she acted at the end of the last lynch and into this one. She came through yesterday with some suspicions and pointedly asked for thoughts. When thoughts were given, and she was asked in return to respond or said she would respond, she twice used the excuse of having to go to work instead of ever getting around to answering those things. I've been trying to give her more time so she couldn't use the ol "Don't rush me, I didn't realize I was being timed" excuse, but she has not shown up yet today and I have to bring it up eventually. Here's where she said she would reply to some stuff:
Rebecca Nurse wrote:Everything I say is meant to be lighthearted and jokey :fiesta:

Thank you for reminding me of those, I'll reply when I get home tonight. If I'm still alive :ninja: I know I will be though, nobody would kill lovable old me :lorab:

Well she survived the night but she has not made another post since this one, not even to make a dick joke. :P But to be honest, she is not the only person who is missing. Lots of players aren't talking at the moment, and silence is not going to help us get on the right track to nabbing a baddie.

I agree that we should still be looking at Entjen, but I'm willing to give him a free pass. I also think that looking at low posters is a Good strategy for right now. My general rule of thumb when looking for low poster baddies is seeing who almost never talks about the game, and is mostly OT. Two people fit that description, Merga Bien and Sarah Good.

Merga seems to be not even playing at all, only voting in the Day 0, and Night 1 polls. She posted this:
Merga Bien wrote:I'm sorry for not being more involved so far. I may be quieter for the next couple of days, but things are slowing down for me and I will more available.
Which makes me think that she just doesn't have time for this game.

Sarah is much more suspicious. Her "strategy" is to make puns with her name. She voted for me Day 1, without really offering an explanation, and then self voted Day 2. This seems to me like a baddie who is participating the bare minimum at the request of her teammates. She's definitely someone I'm going to be looking at today.

I'm also not going to vote for Entjen today. It's one thing to vote for someone you think is a baddie when they are silenced/insanified when there is overwhelming evidence of their baddiness but I don't think thats the case here. I would want Entjen to have an opportunity to respond to her accusers so I won't vote for her while she's insanifed today.

I'm going to take another look at what the case is against Barbara. There is a possibility I could vote for her today but I want to see a good case before I do so.

This may be a vote where I throw a vote to a non/low/OT poster to let them know I'm paying attention to them. There are some people I cant remember hearing one thing from.

It's Day 4, so I was going ahead and placing a target on those players that aren't offering much (also to gauge reactions). Here's my active player list as well (Players with 20+ posts to this point). I'm going to copy the color coded idea from someone else.

Jennet Bierley - Hey that's me. I'm good.

Mary Eastey has given me the highest ping out of active players. Yes she was Lunafied yesterday, so she fell off my radar completely. However she was trying to spread discord among us about the professors not being pro-town. She's also had a vote on every single lynched player this game so far. If I don't decide to vote an inactive player, Mary would be my choice.

Entjen Gillis - Well, she's been Lunafied today, so I'm giving her a pass. I don't have enough time to go over her now.

Katharina Henot - She never struck as being bad, so I'll go with good for now.

Märet Jonsdotter - She's been the most critical player this entire game, and she spread the love around. I see this as a definite sign of a player who is not in cahoots with anyone. Looking back, she also shared my thoughts on Mary Eastey, which I quoted below.
Märet Jonsdotter wrote:
Krystyna Ceynowa wrote:
Mary Eastey wrote:"So, if they are a baddie team, why don't they have an NK? And what about the fact that they are each head of houses, and all of the students are evenly divided between the houses? That has to mean something, right?"

This is speculation, but I think each of the teachers can recruit someone from their house to their team. They have to search for them every night. So yes, they may not have an NK, but I think that they could probably lower the amount of civvies drastically.
Those numbers don't make any sense. If every teacher recruited someone, and they are baddies, that would result in 12 baddies total. You're pushing things that aren't likely. Mafia teams have kills. You use not knowing the teachers alignment as a reason they are bad, but we don't have the alignment for any role, and there are no grounds to believe the teachers are bad (once again, I'd say Snape is a possible exception, perhaps some kind of solo baddie).

We KNOW that Lucius is searching for Draco each night. We don't know what happens if he finds him, but we do know neither he or Draco are anything that could be considered good people, and Crabbe, Goyle, and Pansy are worse. You're trying to force role alignments that are consistent with a standard layout, not alignments that make real sense, and not alignments that are supported by what little we do have to go on.
She literally says that somehow, civvies are worse. If this isn't fear mongering, I don't know what is.

:eye: Big time.
Barbara Kollerin - She doesn't strike me as a baddie, but she's not playing a great game either. Yes she has been "lurking in my shadow" and "tagging along my skirt" as others have said, but I am the only player she has remotely done this to, which is why I believe she is probably good.

Malin Matsdotter - Malin seems to be the most level-headed player here. I don't see anyone else making as smart, thought-out decisions as she is. She strikes me as town.

Rebecca Nurse - Okay, here's a tricky one. She made a post of her top 4 'baddest' players, myself being one of them. However, she didn't really pursue any of them, with the exception of Jane. However I can also see Jane as being bad, so there could be something here.

Anne Redferne - A lot of her posts are early, off-topic posts, so I don't really have a good grasp on her yet.

Margarethe Reinberg - She strikes me as town so far.

Jane Southworth - Well she premeditated my player post list, you witch. :ohyeah: Anyway, she was prodding a bit yesterday when Anne made a suggestion about my role. More likely than not, that is a baddie 'politely' looking for more info than she needs, especially in a game where info-sharing isn't allowed. She is next on my list after Mary.

To sum this all up, Mary Jane are my top two suspects at this point in time (yes I intentionally left out the 'and').

Another little thing I noticed was Karin's vote. She popped in right at the end of Day 3 to add a vote to Krystyna who was ultimately lynched (after the switch) and flipped good. She offered no reason for her vote, and that vote was her only post of the day.
Karin Svensdotter wrote:I am sticking with Krystyna.

A case hasn't exactly been built on Barbara yet, but there are a lot of questions going around.

As far as voting an inactive player, I think that's the best way to go if you don't have a case on anyone. @everyone else, please offer a reason for your votes today, as we've not gotten a whole lot of it yet this game, and we're far enough in that you should be able to list something with your vote.

Hmmm... but didn't you say that baddies are more likely to play a careful, mistake-free game than civs are? Malin hasn't really stood out to me this game so far, but I can see how she could either be a smart civvie or a baddie who knows exactly what to say.

I didn't really think Anne's suggestion that you were responsible for the role reveal was probable, but it seemed like something we could confirm or debunk really easily, so I asked you. I didn't really realize that "info sharing" wasn't allowed... but the hosts clarified this for us anyways.

I agree with most of your other thoughts on the active posters, including Mary. She's someone I want to look at more closely. I expected her to have some extra insight for us after spending the day insanified yesterday, but she has been much quieter today than she was while Luna'd.

Like Jennet said, there's not really a fullblown case here. She's been questioned a few times to explain her odd behavior this game. I questioned her and the responses I received have made me feel better about her, but I'm still keeping an eye on her for sure. Don't see myself voting here today, though.

Lots of people haven't even checked in today. 9 witches have 10 or fewer posts: Alice Nutter, Alizon, Brita, Karin, Margaret P, Sarah Good, Kael, Anne Whittle, and Merga. There's likely at least one baddie in that group, lying low and blending in. I'm giving Alizon and Anne W a pass for now, as they were recently replaced and seem to be participating. Anna Koldings has 14 posts, and said she would be more active today, but that has not happened yet.
So witch one is it?

I had been feeling pretty good about you Jane, but in my experience, throwing out a bunch of names is something baddies do.
I don't know witch one it is. I do think it's likely that a baddie is lurking there. As for throwing a bunch of names out, it's not like I said "Hey, here's 10 people you might think about voting for!" I simply made a list of the low posters who need to step up their activity for the good of the town. Light a fire under their feet, if you will. Maybe in the process, we can ferret out which ones among them have bad intentions. The main point of my post was to get some discussion going, because the first half of the Day wasn't very productive from a suspicions standpoint. Bringing up the low posters isn't the most assured way to get people talking, but it's a start. And it can be telling, to see how people react to it.

Ooh, I've got a hidden vote already.

I'm headed out for the day, so I'm going to go ahead and drop my vote on Mary for reasons already explained.

A lot to take in today. I think there is probably something to the idea that a baddie is hiding among the low posters. I still don't trust Entjen, but am willing to give her a pass today because of the insanification.

Of the low posters, I am starting to get pinged by Alice Nutter.
Her posts, few as they are, have been sloppy, dismissive and defensive.

I agree Mary's vote record looks bad, and that should not be dismissed. Vote records are always a good way to catch baddies, ecuase they can lie in the thread, but ultimately they have to cast votes and not lynch their teammates.

I am a little hesitant to jump on this yet, however, because it is only day four and I can think of plenty of games where I have been a civvie with an equally terrible vote record.

I don't think we'll be able to make much out of voting records until we get a baddie lynch under our belts. Then we can start drawing connections between votes, thread activity, and who tried to save whom.

Mary: other than Sarah for her lack of participation and punny posts, and Entjen who you said you are giving a pass to today, is there anyone else you are suspicious of?

Welcome, Merga! I don't think a recap will do you much Good, so here is a link to a list of all of the players in the game. The names you find there contain links to all of that witch's posts in this thread. I suggest you start trying to read the full thread, beginning around the start of Day 1, and if something you read catches your eye, you can use that list to quickly peak at any player's contributions to the game. Do try to keep in mind the context around posts that you find in this way, because if you aren't sure what's being discussed, you might draw wrong conclusions about what you're reading. You must only use this shortcut for Good!

Unfortunately there is not an easy way to recap the thread for you because we haven't caught a baddie yet. We're still flying a little blind, and the thread will probably reflect that. Most everything that you NEED to know can be found in the first few posts of the game.

It's been kind of a hard game to keep track of becaue of all the pseudonyms and a lot of off-topic posting and low participation, but I will do my best.

Day 1: an early rivalry emerged between Agnes and Entjen. Agnes got the most votes, but no one was lynched. Agnes said "I will not be lynched" and she wasn't."
Night 1: Agnes was killed. Later, it was revealed that she was Harry Potter.
Day 2: Bridget was lynched with broad consensus due to the perception that she knew too much about what Voldemort's team was capable of. She flipped civvie.
Night 2: Katherina survived a kill attempt.
Day 3: Krystyna caught a lot of heat for suggesting that Slytherin students marked as civvies were pretty much just baddies waiting to happen. Entjen was still suspected from Day 1, and got quite a few votes as well. Krystyna ended up lynched and flipped civvie, even though Entjen had more votes.
Night 3: Jennet survived a kill attempt.
Day 4: A lot of people have been looking at low posters, suspecting hidden badness there.

I was going to vote Kael Merrie because I couldn't remember one single thing she has said. I looked up her posts and understand why - she hasn't really said anything. She has voted but not given any reasons for her votes. I could see potentially voting Margaret Pearson - I'll hold until I see what the rest of the people who are voting low posters want to do. Please, if you are thinking about a low poster mention who it is and why.

Go for it. My head's not quite in this game yet, sadly. :(

Or perhaps your team could kill me later tonight. ;)

I'm voting for Margaret.
Does the name "Entjen Gillis" make anyone else immediately think of singing it to the tune of "Weird and Gilly" from "Ziggy Stardust"? Just me? Ok...

I'm going with Karin today. I pulled these two quotes because a) Of the few posts she has, these are the most involved in the game ones there are and b) These posts back to back are interesting to me.
Karin Svensdotter wrote:I think it is safest to assume that The Teachers are a separate unfriendly group with their own win conditions. I would really like to know if they have BTSC.
Karin Svensdotter wrote:
A Person wrote:Also, the only group that had btsc initially was the baddie team. Whether anything has changed, who can say? ;)
This is pre host clarification on the teachers being indy's.

If the teachers have already developed BTSC, that was quick. It's only day 2.
Katharina Henot wrote: I think that given their clarification that the teachers are Indy and we have kills from Voldy and the Death Eaters every night, they should be our priority. Indys that have no kill typically just have "survive to the end." win conditions.
I didn't read anything about the teachers not having a kill. What makes you assume this?
Bridget Bishop wrote:For various reasons, I predicted that I would not live long, and that this would be the best way for me to help the students. When I mount the gallows, and you tighten the noose roundabout my neck, and I breathe my last, and you see that my name be entirely white among the village, then those likewise innocent will have guidance.
This is literally the next post roughly 24 hours later from her. I get we have host clarification on how the teachers are aligned by this point so that may be some of the reason she's turning things down a lot, but also she asked me a question, which I did respond to and then the whole thing was just dropped. And she's said very little before or after this.

The final vote getting thing for me is that I actually responded to her posts and I had no memory of her in the game at all till I pulled her quotes. That officially qualifies as "I forgot they were even playing." for me.

It tweeks my eye just enough to want to vote there. Back to back, these posts feel like attempted fear mongering that didn't take with a side of backpeddling.

vote karin

Alice it's "Wynn and Gilly" ;) also - every time I see Entjen's name my head will be singing "....and the spiders from mars..." *and* now the song is stuck in my head. So...yea. Thanks for both those things. :p

Thanks Malin, I appreciate the help. It may be a day or two before I have the time to read a whole new thread full of sockpuppets. I do think i recap can be a helpful starting point! I am sorry to hear that Harry is already dead.

So I am going to start out rereading Krystyjna. I remember noticing her when I was not playing, waiting on my enrollment application owl to arrive, yeah, that's it :D

She made a big splash, and Death Eaters like quiet compliance.

First, you are not allowed to vote for me. Second, why should a replacement reread mislynched dead civvies? Are you serious?

OK, I have another 10 minutes to vote and have no idea who is who, and am not close to caught up enough to make an educated guess. So this earned you my vote Alozon.

I voted for Karin. Karin has indeed only said a few on-topic things, all related to the professors and/or their alignment. Other than that, she just has voting posts. Talking about the professors seems like a good way for baddies to join the discussion without having to talk about themselves.

If we're going for a low poster today, Karin seems the most suspicious to me. *votes Karin*
