I'm voting Sprityo. Top suss, best bet. Good discussion today, Fred.

I like being right.

I think it might be worthwhile to go back and look at Sprityo's justification for voting for Boo on Day 2. If it's flimsy train-hopping, then it might be as close to a civ-clear for Boo as possible. Sprityo also voted for Jack on Day 1. I did for the lynch drama but Dyslexicon voted for Jack as well. Go back and look there too.

Mac has no voting or posting history outside of Day 3. Tink has hardly anything going on. Re-read that whole EOD for Day 3 carefully. If it's possible that Sprityo and Tink were both baddies, then at least one of Sprityo's teammates could have been involved in that mix. If both Tink and Sprityo are bad, sudden changes to either don't necessarily mean anything or clear anyone.

At this early point in the game, I have my doubts as to how hard a teammate might fight to save Sprityo in discussion or in votes. The only reason they might want to try to save Sprityo would be if the third member of the baddies is hardly participating.

I'll be out of town until late tomorrow afternoon. I'll try to check the NK results tonight but reception is spotty.

I've been tracking data in my own spreadsheet. Here's what I have:

I stand corrected. On Day 1, Neverwhere voted for Nutella. My chart has it the other way around. Nutella was active but missed the vote deadline on Day 1. Good catch!

I made it out of the woods alive. I'll try to re-read to see why Fred became the lynch du jour.

I'm not so sure Fred is the right way to go today.

I have to re-read Night 3 and the rest of Day 4 yet but I poked and prodded the heck out of Fred Day 3 to test him. His responses were emotional, which is not what I would expect from a baddie with no reason to believe he or his teammates were on the chopping block. It's possible that he is an emotional player but I didn't see that early on.

Has anyone ISO'd Sprityo yet? I went back and saw several posts where he comments on his feelings about different players. I'll try to pull that together so we can digest it better. Unless something damning happened Night 3, I can't but feel that Fred is a sloppy if not lazy choice.

If Eloh were pulling this kind of play while not on vacation, I could vote for her. The vacation factor gives me pause.

I feel that if we lynch Elo today and she flips civ, there will be an assumptive rush to lynch Fred tomorrow. I can't say the same is true if we lynch Fred today and he flips civ.

I'm going back to look at who Sprityo mentioned and who he didn't mention. I feel like today was partly wasted by not digging into Sprityo's post history. We lynched a baddie for crying out loud and we haven't analyzed our catch much at all.

Not sure how I'm tied to Eloh, I counter voted her day 2. Pretty sure if I get lynched it will be for reasons independent of Eloh's flip, no one has even mentioned that.

I mean that, after spending much of the day talking about lynching you, some people will feel like it was a mistake to not lynch you if we mis-lynch on someone else and just waste Day 5 by voting for you and walking away. Eloh's flip doesn't confirm or condemn you at this point. It's more a patience thing.

I've gathered the following in chronological order. Some are Sprityo's words and some are my thoughts.

(i also just realized this post is half the people on my list, hmph. interesting) So overall jack actually.... looks good. i mean his disagreement with DDL wasnt a two sided thing, they both have their reasons. i would side with DDL on it based my personal opinion since having all vanilla towns is lame. but jack makes some decent posts in his actual banter, and he also throws down his opinions of people which is more than a lot of players have put out (then again it's day 1 and i can relate that it's hard to get reads sometimes)

I think that should be good, in retrospect, if i was to go into my list of 6, the other three, Dom, Mac, and DrWilgy, well i couldnt do the former two, and will change them if they dont show up tomorrow (the phase), and DrWilgy doesnt have enough for me to judge him im pretty sure. (at least, if im remembering right)

If you would be so kind, please lay out your reasons why you think DFaraday, Fred, and/or myself are baddies. This is the rush to judgment I was worried about if Eloh flipped civ. Short lists are not always helpful and insults even less so.

I plan on returning to Sprityo's lists. That was a gift that we need to utilize. There are 12 players remaining, making it 9v2v1 (assuming the indy is a threat to the civs). While we still have room to mess up, this is not the time to be hasty with either our thoughts or our votes.

Pretty sure Mafia can evolve too - so nothing is stopping them no. That wasn't the point either.

Also, if this plan goes through, you should probably try to mandate people not just alternate between the same people if they're still alive. In theory, a baddie could just switch back and forth between their teammates if two baddies wind up in the evolution pool.
In theory they could. The hope would be that the collective reads are better than chance and that we force mafia to not vote each other - at the very least not use all their three votes on each other. The ties between who votes for who to get the evo points could also be read into later with flips etc, if the information is out in the open.

It was a misread on my part early on. The more people talked about evolution theory, I cocked my head sideways like the RCA dog, went back, and realized my error. There was talk of black hole Pokemon (who don't evolve and would just render an evo vote useless), one of which was a baddie, but I misinterpreted the post. I'd have to go back and look for what set me astray. Equal parts poor reading comprehension and lack of focus.

It seems the first mention of 'black hole' Pokemon came after that post of mine. Perhaps I just screwed it up from the beginning with Faraday asking about Mew & Mewtwo getting evo votes. Neither one of them are baddies though, so that was a piss poor reading/assumption on my part. I've been pretty bad about keeping roles straight in my head lately, but this is a new low, as that post was the very first post from a player in the game.

That and all these Pokemon names are nothing but gibberish to me anyway, as someone who grew up preferring to shoot stormtroopers, crash racecars, and win Stanley Cups in video games than try to catch Japanamation monsters with big eyes. Besides, Pokemon was on Gameboy and my parents were poor. Tiger handheld electronic games and playing outside ftw!

It's been a quiet game but we've got to start looking for connections to Sprityo. Two of us are his teammates. Whom did he address directly? Whom did he talk about in general? Whom did he say absolutely nothing to or about? Flip it around- who among us addressed him directly, in general, or not at all? I'm going to keep digging.

Between maintaining the lists as the game moves along and ISO'ing for connections, we can win this game.

Of my list called dumb by Sprityo, only three are left. Do we take Eloh's defense of Tink to mean she had information on her? Eloh's role started out as 'psychic.' Could that mean info-gathering/cop-esque? If we assume yes, that leaves just Fredwood and Neverwhere to consider from that group. I will have to ISO Neverwhere again to see what might be there. Fredwood left me feeling somewhat better about him after we went back and forth the other day. I could still see him as the indy though, as his assertiveness came across as equal parts 'desire to help' and 'desire to survive.'

We know that there is at least one active baddie left.

Dyslexicon hasn't logged into the site since a week ago.

Mac recently showed up, which would throw off the hunt for an inactive.

Quin/Dom not only sounds like a kinky sex fetish but also throws us off the inactive hunt.

Has anyone else rationalized civ status for other players? If so, let's hear it because we can whittle those lists down to fewer options for today and also start thinking past today.

ISO'ing Neverwhere didn't get me very far. She's been away for a while and has some RL hang-ups. I could see that going either way, frankly, so she's still a null read.

If Mew and Mewtwo are listed with abilities but cannot evolve, why wouldn't the first role description listed for Eloh be her first power? If someone is listed as 'normal' on the role list, I assume that to mean vanilla. How have you been interpreting it? That everyone starts as vanilla until they evolve?

I'm torn. Having a consensus lynchee or two is nice. Keeping our options spread wide open until the deadline has its merits too. Today just feels like it's too wide open. Four votes so far for four different people. Three of those four are likely to be around at the deadline to vote anywhere they need to out of self-preservation. Dyslexicon has been MIA for a while, so I have my doubts that he (she?) will be back. If so, then that's a fourth self-preservation vote in the mix. This EOD could descend into utter chaos if we don't get some clarity.

Does anyone have other player observations to share? The holiday makes it tough for us all to participate, so anything, no matter how small, may help.

Is anyone suspicious of Dragon D. Luffy or DrWilgy? According to my spreadsheet, neither one has received a vote all game. There's been mentions of them but never any votes. Neverwhere hasn't received any votes either but her circumstances are different. DDL and Wilgy have plenty of content to comb through and haven't had as many things holding them back from the thread. Perhaps these folks haven't been high enough on our suspiciometers or perhaps we collectively latch onto other options that push them aside.

I've said all I care to regarding Dizzy, the case is simple, I'm not confident in it, but I'm confident that we need to not enable this afk gameplay. Sprityo never hard pushing for wallflowers reassures me, but it's hard to judge someone who's not here.

With fred I'd have to go back and find the exact instances that I agreed with him being bad.

DDL has assured us of his "bad civ game" and followed suit. I need to see some good civ game. Him asking me if i was trying to set him up to scum slip was my initial ping and it hasn't changed.

What are your thoughts on these 3 G-Man?

I don't have much of an opinion on either you or DDL because you've been present. For much of this game, we've been occupied with theories on inactives and hammering scum slips. The only reason I caught onto Sprityo was because he was a bubble player. I was looking for coasters. DDL has had diarrhea of the mouth at times and you seem about your average self. Between tempering my natural inclination to suss DDL and tempering my natural desire to trust you, I've been left neutral on you both. I need to ISO you guys but I'm not looking forward to it.

If we all end up voting for different people for an 11-way tie, I'm gonna cry.

I'm running out of battery, so I might not be able to stay until the deadline.

I just watched fireworks. Not great ones, because Pennsylvania bans good fireworks. Battery at 3%. I'm going to vote for Fred because he was on my original suss list. I suspect he's probably the indy, though. Check y'all when I can plug in. This day was a royal mess. We need to do a lot of talking tonight and lay out a lot of reads with reasons.

I don't necessarily like that I am voting alongside Dragon. Such is life.

Ignore my input from here on out. I've always sucked as a civvie without my silly technicolors. Nabbing Sprityo was a case of the blind squirrel finding a nut. That much is clear to me now.

Baddies, if you have any honor left in you, please kill me tonight. I don't want to giftwrap this game any more neatly for you than I already have.

I'm not throwing in the towel completely. Last night I was mad and overreacting. I will no longer try to lead / run point in this game. Granted, neither the Eloh lynch nor Fred's were entirely my fault, I just don't have the time to dig harder and deeper. Few people seem to give a crap because so many of us are busy. I suppose it's time for me to stop overthinking everything and just shoot from the hip like so many other are doing.

Sorry, I've been lazy with the role names.

I'm not sure I buy it. With a game this chock full of participation issues, it's not a stretch at all to think the baddies might abstain from using their kill to try and trick us into focusing elsewhere.

I've been a good worker bee today. I'll grab my last few ISO's and make myself available this evening. Glad to have you back Dyslexicon. Got any fresh thoughts amidst your catching up?

I'm here now. Aside from thinking Tink is a civvie, it's all a murky mess. I could see any of you as mafia at this stage and that's more than a little problematic.

I think people wised up and put away their Jump To Conclusions mats. Timmer got votes because of meta and Boo got votes because enough people bought into the idea that he was maliciously twisting Nutella's words. Neither one is a great reason to lynch someone on Day 2, but hey- it happened.

It's kind of sad, looking at who got lynched and why. Tony got votes because he was a no-show and lost a tie-breaker. Timmer got votes because of meta and lost a tie-breaker. Sprityo got votes randomly and based on a hunch, and lost a tie-breaker. Eloh got lynched because of meta and she was an easy target. Fred got lynched because I suck at mafia and we got collectively stupid for a day and spread the vote out way too far. Thus far, nobody has been lynched on anything concrete.

Linki: I'm beginning to get weirded out by Wilgy's game-long desire to eliminate inactives. It's almost nakedly opportunistic, which provides WIFOM.

I think it was Nutella's overreaction to Boo's misinterpretation that conflated their spat and made Boo an easy target. Neither one wanted to back down, so it just got worse for both of them. Boo was taking it too far, which is why he drew the vote fire.

It was in the way Nutella went about her business. She was being semi-critical of tea-partying evo votes but then joined an evo vote trifecta but said she wouldn't commit to it long term. It was very inconsistent in a short period of time. Boo saw it and latched onto it.

Linki: I don't want to feed him excuses, so all I can say is that I recognized Nutella's inconsistencies that he was arguing against.

In looking at the votes, Wilgy has a pretty crappy record this game. He missed Day 1's deadline because he was shopping. He was part of the Timmer meta lynch train Day 2. Day 3, he wanted to vote out the relatively inactive Tink. Day 4 he was on board for minimal-participating Eloh (possibly plus meta, though I'd have to go back). Day 5 he voted for absentee Dyslexicon, whom he voted for again today. His votes have been easy/lazy all the way through.

Since vote analysis is my bread and butter, I'm sticking with Wilgy.
