Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Night 0]
I've had a positive perspective of Epignosis since the early stage, with these as the starting point:
I don't think this is standard-fare wine. Epi morphed my stupid comment (confirmed teammate of nutella) into a stupid response that itself could incite bogus takes from anyone left to interpret them. I don't think anything came of that, but it suits the sort of early-game motion we've seen from his civilian fingers in recent memory. I don't necessarily refer to false wine, but more generally to making unfounded claims or saying questionable things deliberately to see how it makes the game move.
Since that initial moment I haven't been bothered by Epi's takes. His suspicion of juliets was quite on-brand. He looks the part.

speedchuck gripes
Not feeling the vibes on this joke.
I find this assertion hard to believe: nutella is a firecracker is responds severely to accusations of all sorts all the time. This contributes in some vague manner to the negative nutella climate, and I'm not on board.
i n t e r e s t i n g
Seriously though, chuck termed the Jacktella thing as interesting and specifically referenced tedxtr as a source of that intrigue -- without providing any actual take or stance. I don't know what the point of this observation is.
chuck sharted on both the Radish and nutella wagons before engaging himself in the concurrent dialogues. At face value, I think this post looks fake. He answered this accusation already. I'm not moved.
One thing I liked more from speedchuck was his dig into sig's takes on Jacktella. In the end though we get the highlighted bit to neuter its seriousness and for my money its credit.

Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Night 1]
I don't think "bravado" is out of place with Dom. That's a part of the persona he often brings to the game. He asked a question and it went unanswered, and so he made a stink. I don't think he has played with tedxtr before (either can correct me if necessary), so I don't think ted's own personality is an important variable to consider when judging Dom's treatment of ted. They don't know one another.Dyslexicon wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 11:09 pmI read the Dom/Ted thing, and I was confused about Dom's bravado that was suspecting Ted because he didn't answer a question. I also thought it was shade to say "avoided my question" cause it's such an easy gripe to have with someone. But Ted doesn't really strike me as someone who would flee away from a "difficult" question if he was scum, so likely he forgot or missed it, which he later said. I don't know. I was confused be Dom's bravado last game I played with him too though. I don't think I've seen him as scum before.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 11:03 pmYou asked about this. Jimmay, you know Dom better than me, so what's your overall feel there? Also, you know SVS better than me, so same question there.
Now that ted did answer the question, we may glean more from their interaction at present. [mention]Dom[/mention], [mention]tedxtr[/mention], whaddya think of each other?
I have leaned positively for S~V~S on the basis of tone and familiarity with what I remember of her hunting styles and what I know of the site norms from the era from whence she brings most of her background (Syndicate circa 2013-2016 or so). I haven't dug deep on S~V~S lately though and she is a priority for reassessment.

Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Day 2]
I wouldn't say "bored", but he has been less active and less effortful in some of his town games given external business or burnout. I do my best to put his general activity level away and assess his content purely for what it is.Dyslexicon wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 11:14 pm Not much there bth, and considering almost all of you are dirty scumbums, then yeah, why not.
Buuut, I have the feeling that Speed has been bored as town before? Does he like to play scum more, or is that only an assumption?
Of what you put out it's the first joke that I like the least. Reads a bit like guilty state of mind.

Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Night 1]
I assume you're referring to the bit where you asked about how he presented his civilian read on Dizzy? If so, I understand why you'd be inclined to ask your question. I am not especially bothered by it on ted's part. When you asked him to expand on his town reads, he did so with a mind for the start-to-present progression which, in the case of Dizzy at least, meant that there was some degree of conflict in the read. But he landed on town -- he expanded on that further after your prod. You got beef?Sloonei wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 11:23 pmyou missed the other part where ted responded and i asked him a few more questions.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 11:03 pmYou asked about this. Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Night 1]
I think it's important that this dialogue began when you asked him for his strongest town reads -- the genesis of these comments existing was your brain as much as or more than ted's brain. He gave a small pile of names and ordered them, and then expanded on the names you asked about. He's giving you a rundown, which could be said to go above and beyond the call of your question.Sloonei wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 11:32 pm A little bit. I'm getting hung up on the initial framing of his Dizzy read. It was "Dyslexicon is town. [Several lines of text explaining why Dyslexicon was previously not a town read]. Dyslexicon is town." The follow-up response was a better answer, but the first one felt like a non-answer, which recalled my Day 0 beef with ted.
The framing may be a bit different if ted had come up with the post entirely himself: "these are my strongest town reads and [here's why they're not town]"

Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Day 2]
Michelle stuff:
I liked her in Day 0 for her little contributions. They may not be much, but I am fond of the tone. That's worth less in Day 2 Land, but it's something.
She stood in Jack's corner when he was briefly wagoned on Day 1. If Jack is a civilian one may wonder about TMI; my alarm is not set off given that it's based upon Jack's read on her. There's a personal connection driving the read that I find believable.
Town reads on sig and I, the latter based on meta. I am not surprised by the comparison given that in Dogs vs. Cats I was very loudly mislynched. It sticks in the brain.
I don't care for this post. I don't understand what Michelle means in the first line about Dizzy. Her shade at nutella looks a bit cooked -- framing it as a question to the audience "what if they're both town???" is icky. Then there's vague references to vibes from Nanook and Radish, presumably negative vibes but not overtly stated.
I don't feel much either way from the big multi-quote post. I reference it anyway given its significant stature within the ISO.
Again drawing on meta when reading Sloonei town. I've no gripe.
Michelle's stances in the Day 1 lynch were dually concrete: vote Radish, don't want to lynch nutella. I appreciate the clarity.
sig gave her some shit and she was cool with it. The lack of energy in her response is awkward.
I agree with much of what she says about Colin
Well this ended up a whole-ass ISO post. I'm JaggedJimmyJay.
It's not a perfect report. When I am less-than-positive though I feel more like I am nitpicking than like I am finding something I care about. I don't view Michelle as a good lynch.

Spoiler: show
This all looks like filler. I see various reasons why you might view Sloonei as a civilian and no reasons why you might view him as a mafioso save for the vague "caveat" and "un-fakeable" stuff. It's meaningless. You talk with him often, you ISO him, you say all this about him, and the payoff is "null".
This isn't my only concern with you, but it's a good summary of why I suspect you. This kind of thing is apparent throughout your content.

juliets is my strongest civilian read in the game. How about a one-word summary of your suspicion that isn't itself "bad"?

I like sprityo for reasons I struggle to articulate. He is striking a balance between here are a few reads, take them or leave them and let me explain to you in great vivid detail who I think is mafia and why. He's giving reads and explaining them in some capacity, enough that one can mostly follow his thinking, but without it looking like he is working for appearances.

Do you know juliets to play in a way other than nice?TonyStarkPrime wrote: ↑Sat Feb 29, 2020 5:51 pmJuliets is playing too nice. Giving information, asking questions. Playing good cop too much. In recent memory Turnip Head has rarely been one to play the game loudly -- quiet but attentive is an apt description of him. I'd say he is on-meta. How does this impact your read?Master Radishes wrote: ↑Sat Feb 29, 2020 4:19 pm As ever, my lack of meta knowledge could factor in here – is TH playing his normal town game? Definite scum lean.

Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Day 2]
At least twice now you've referenced my suspicion of you only in terms of the least important point (the "4th voter") thing. In so doing, you have left the substantive digs hanging -- your handling of me and your handling of Sloonei. I am reminded of the dummy scroll moment from Romance of the Three Kingdoms that helped me to catch BadMac.Master Radishes wrote: ↑Sat Feb 29, 2020 5:58 pmAfter spending some time on jack & nutella’s little ditty, his vote on me comes a bit out of nowhere. He shaded me earlier, so there’s that, but he arrives back in the thread to hop on my wagon after it’s already grown in a little spurt. Very opportunistic moment, basically. Only explains it later, and for reasoning I find poor. Like, making a deal out of the ‘4th vote = scum’ thing? Come on. It reads like he scanned the thread for a few things to say that others already have about me.
"The most egregious one-line soft read" you've referenced here is not a read at all. I asked Jack a question. What?[/quote]Master Radishes wrote: ↑Sat Feb 29, 2020 5:58 pmBut then back to more one-line soft reads. The most egregious one I find to be this, which is just…weak. It’s meant to be jokey, but in the context of Jay’s larger play this game strikes me wrongly. Then, despite all his one-off reads here and there, he lands back on me as a vote.

Yes. Absolutely. Same questionMaster Radishes wrote: ↑Sat Feb 29, 2020 6:00 pmQuiet is one thing. Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Night 1]
I'd previously assessed the Day 1 Jack wagon that had ballooned. I didn't know why your vote was on it; you didn't really indicate that. I care less about that as of 5:48 PM EST on 29-Feb-20 than I do the larger body of posts in your history -- likewise whatever time it was when I said that.Dom wrote: ↑Sat Feb 29, 2020 6:45 pm....what changed, Jay?
