Re: Radiohead Mafia [DAY 2]
I had Nutella as most likely chop pretty early. It was pretty clear none of the towncore was going to shield her, and none of the other possibilities had anyone on them that really seemed to have the combination of credibility and inclination to make a real push. I'd be reading Nutella as anti-spew very early assuming the wolves had someone who could read the room.Hally wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 12:17 amhm idk i can see that both ways. like i can see it as nut being scared off from pushing town!herm because alison objects or nut looking for an excuse to stop distancing from scum!herm and using alison as an outstaypositivefriend wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 12:12 amlikewise! i believe this is my first experience with you but i very much dig your playstyleMacDougall wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 12:05 am I've watched you play champs and enjoyed it SPF but I gotta say it's nice to experience it first hand. it's partially true. this was nutella's reaction to alison tr'ing herm:
you could say that this is when nutella "stopped pushing" on herm, but she was never really pushing on him in the first place as much as she was very gently shading him
how much pressure was nut under when she started pushing herm? if it was before she got a lot of heat, it’s probably less likely to be distancing. if it’s after she started getting voted it could be anti-spew maybe

Why wouldn't you like that? That's what an anti-snowball roll does, if the wolves are doing well, I as a towny get stronger. If the wolves get off to a bad start as they did, I as a town PR get weaker. Pushes against swing.Oddmerta wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 1:23 amIt has a specific meaning, it means incredibly bad. You really are committed to claiming that everything I say is bad no matter how it conflicts with reality, aren't you?
By the way, other than tunneling me and vaguely "feeling" deep wolves, have you at any point taken any kind of committed stance on anything in this game?

Oh, hey, you did tunnel JPIC too...for no discernible reason beyond convenience. I get it man, a wolf in this game really just needs to look for a townie that towncore is sussing and "lead the charge." Props for good wolfing. I mean it's kinda low level but in this environment it's probably effective...at least until the town core starts looking beyond themselves for the causes of some green flips. Whatcha gonna do then?

Tim, you are literally the only person that has posted today that would say I am glaringly wrong on you. You are clearly being scum read by town. Many, many, many town. Therefore even if you're town, you're empirically being scummy. Therefore how can I be "glaringly wrong"?
If you're town, just do better. Go after the people that you have a chance of getting over. You're acting like you've got 10 votes on you. You don't.
My POE will have mafia in it. Probably more than one. Who are the other town in it? Who are the mafia? Please, I am inviting you to help me yeet mafia and pocket me lol.
But, yeah, et tu. You are so dialed in on making these reads off just nebulous posts that you won't hear anything else...and you are leading the town. So I'm gonna argue with you. It's a tough deal, but why wouldn't I?
Other than some distancing exchanges with dying Nutella and some safe tunneling on people the town core wouldn't shield, what has Oddmerta actually DONE?

You're better off choosing your own favoured wagons in the POE and pushing them and trying to get yourself town cleared through more flips.
The problem is that you would know this already because you've scumread most of the POE and you would be confident that your existing reads on Nook and Herm in particular are sound because they've been qualified by towncore. Alignment cop isn't "a useful ability" it is absolutely fatal to wolves. Every person an alignment cop examines, no matter what, has to be NKed. The wolves HAVE to either roleblock him or kill him. Not the towniest of town towns by ACTION, no matter how townie you TALK.MacDougall wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 3:04 am Counterpoint, JPIC is using "his role" to confirm lock cleared townies.

Re: Radiohead Mafia [DAY 2]
So on the assumption the wolves have a roleblocker...if we chop JPIC today then the wolves block the doc and chop Mac or you. If they have to block JPIC then they have to doc dodge.
I mean, if we were down to the last wolf man I'd be all in to turbo him...but it isn't that way. Hell, we all know you have another suspect that everyone is itching to chop.

I cannot think of any role for Nanook that would allow him to know that, given that Hally saw Nanook visiting you.MacDougall wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 3:15 am There's no way from Nook's vantage point that he could think that JPIC is real unless he is real and Nook knows that he is.
But, cool. Glad you're convinced I guess.

Mac got post capped by Sprit, and that isn't necessarily w!Sprit. That's my guess.

Do I get to just say "time to die" when he doesn't answer, or is that just a town core thing?

Re: Radiohead Mafia [DAY 2]
Sorry. Like I said, at 70-79.9% civilians in the game my night action is just not that exciting. It was worth a try just to see if Ted talked himself into a corner, but his answers were cagey enough to avoid that. And since he obviously thinks I'm a wolf the caginess is NAI, so that was a bust.NANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 3:47 am I was fully prepared to unquestioningly believe another claim

Nice play, because if all the traffic around Mac really didn't include the faction kill you may very well have stopped it.Master Radishes wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 3:50 am In the interests of all info being on the table, and since I see nothing about not infodumping for my role and am just playing the game as a follower anyway, may as well confirm that I targeted Alison with a protective role last night that I believe I unwittingly stole from nutella. (I can assume roles from dead players.) I was not informed what role it was, just that I could protect someone.
Still more people who haven't given any clue to their activity though so there might be something else afoot yet.

Okay then.
I talked to the people I wanted to talk to,
I rode through the WTF really went on at Mac's place chaos.
I'm gonna take another break and...I dunno...sleep maybe.
Somebody find all the wolves and just vig them all, okay?

Re: Radiohead Mafia [DAY 2]
Sloonei calculates the percentage of players who are civilians. What night action I get depends on what that percentage is. Apparently somewhere between 70% and 79.9% of the players are civilians because I got the night action for that range. If town starts to get in trouble and the percentage falls into the 65% to 69.9% range I get a better night action, and if it falls lower I get an even better night action.Poison Chan wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 6:56 amexactly how tbh? i don't see towns or even scums getting roles that get improved when close to parity.Timsup2nothin wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 10:54 pm So one reason I bought into Nutella's claim was "it's complicated." Mine is too. In fact I had to wait for Sloonei to tell me what my night action was because it is dependent on the percentage of players that are civilians. Based on the night action I was given 70-79.9% of current players are civilians.
My role is apparently intended as a snowball stopper against the wolves, because the closer to parity they get the more powerful my night actions get.
My night action was pretty much a dud, but at least I could say what range we are in and narrow down how many enemies we face a little bit.
Anyway, I had a crappy day one and I'm not gonna argue that I didn't. Good job everyone bagging a wolf without much help from me. But day two is off to a pretty good start and I think if you look closely you will think better of chopping me. Hopefully by the end of the day anyway.

Re: Radiohead Mafia [DAY 2]
After puzzling through how Mac came up with the Nanook and JPIC clears...I get it.
Which leave Sprityo as having done the dirty on Mac's postcap. I find it very hard to think of any reason that a v!Sprityo would do that, but I suppose it is possible. However, I think it is more likely a wolf thing to do, and that there is a big downside risk in letting potential w!Sprityo live, even one night.
Here's the thing:
For w!Sprityo to approach Mac in the night is a big risk. Mac was going to potentially attract watcher types. Sprityo was potentially going to attract tracker types. That's a lot to take on just to screw around with postcapping. It seems possible that there could be some sort of "set up N1 to have power N2" in play here to justify the risk, and that N2 extra power may go very badly for Mac.
[VOTE: Sprityo] aubergine

Got to check that the towncore wasn’t breached
No sane townie does this. This is an excuse made up by a wolf who got caught blasting at someone.
Looks like the Watcher theory is correct, kinda coincidental that everyone who visited Mac was in the bottom POE then
Inconvenient.
