juliets is my strongest civilian read in the game. How about a one-word summary of your suspicion that isn't itself "bad"?
Juliets is playing too nice. Giving information, asking questions. Playing good cop too much. Taking lines that look for a taker instead of carry themselves.
Do you know juliets to play in a way other than nice?
I think I’ve played with Juliets once past day 1. She played like this. I thought it was scummy. She was scum. I am making no meta judgment either way from that.

In my single game (Inception, a few months ago) Jack looked like he was trying to play like he is now, but without being too noticeable. He was scum in that game, so in retrospect I feel like he was trying to imitate his town game as he perceives it.

This makes me hesitate to vote Jack right now, as much as his overall play has been a bit questionable.
I find that town Jack is more unsure in late game in confident end game and scum Jack is the other way around.
Jack as town makes plays early (d2-4) and seems less certain as the game goes on. Jack as scum can float those days while still contributing and then enacts his plan in the late game.

- Tony you did something you called a Power Analysis. I am not familiar with that as a solving tool. It seemed like you were just saying what you would do if you were that role which would just be busywork, something a scum would do. What was the purpose of the Power Analysis?

I wanted to look over the powers. And doing that is a good excuse to get thinking about it. There are some cool interactions to note. And sometimes I get responses that spark good discussion.

The part where you keep downplaying Jack being god tier at reading you. I have demonstrable evidence that you know and highly regard his ability to read you. The lines of logic you are using are fallacious as opposed to what they would naturally be if he was actually wrong.
But what would be they be if he was actually wrong?
Surprised, or she'd have a fierce scum read of him.
I tend to disagree. We’ve seen this a few times with Rej and Drago (I don’t think in any of the cases where one had a strong day 1 read they were v/v, but I’ll have to check) and it’s been discussed there and my general idea is that the usual reaction is bewilderment, general anger, and resignation — in either case.
For me I’m thinking about what I would do if Sloonei came after me with a case in a few days. it’s a technique Sloonei can pull as scum, but I have to assume that Sloonei as town can misread me too or else what am I saying about my own ability as a scum player?

Did Sloonei lynch me in the game we played together as town? I have no recollection of that game at all.
I like this post 1+ Civ point.

TonyStarkPrime wrote: Thu Feb 27, 2020 11:45 am Let's do some power analysis
So his analysis was good, but I personally don't like random PA like this. Now after Nights I can see it since you want to look over what's happened. But, this was an odd time to do it and is basically just a more in-depth version of what G-man did. As in being around, looking active, but not really contributing anything real.

We have two major wagons going, with most of the players on them which isn't really something I personally like this early in the game.

Who outside of Jack, Nutella, and Radish looks the worst/could be a baddie?

I'm obviously gonna say we should go with Nanook.

But, I'm open to other ideas.
I don’t think any of those are good lynches probably reverse alpha best to worst
So you didn't like these three lynches and supported Dizzy, any reason why?

TSP: He's still kind off a mystery to me. I'd like to see more reads from him and why he voted/suspected Dizzy, until then he's staying null I guess.

Any scum reads? No. Not going to pretend otherwise. I think the list of people I wouldn’t lynch is pretty large though. I can expand it if you’d like but I think I’ll hold off til the day.

I would have been fine with any of the three lynches (least pleased with Nutella as I said) but I wasn’t content to let that be that. So I voted for Dizzy.
I liked your response in the first paragraph, open and honest. I'm not sure I get your second paragraph. You had just said "I don’t think any of those are good lynches probably reverse alpha best to worst" about Jack, nutella and Radish but now you say you would have been fine with them. And I still don't see the reason you voted Dizzy.

Overall Tony I'm not inspired (if I can borrow Sloonei's word) by your posts. You have not provided much content and I don't know what you are thinking. Maybe people who play with you more often can provide some insight because as you said, we have not played together a lot in my memory. I look forward to your response.
First two comments in red.
I think you messed up the spoilers so I’m not quite clear where to go from there. It is true that I have not provided much content. I’m sorry for this. The game is crowded. I don’t feel like I have much to say. A lot of my reads in this game are from overall feel rather than anything specific and I’m not going to pretend otherwise. I can provide a sentence or two on each one but I don’t have much else. Why did I suspect dizzy? Medium post count, no interactions worth mentioning. Saved it with a good reads list that showed straight thinking. Why do I suspect Jay? Cause where’s Jay?

So your hypothesis is that TH is MR's teammate and instead of casting a vote for me at the end thus saving his teammate he instead casted a vote on MR thus confirming his teammate's death?

I mean, stranger things and all but he doesn't need to do that. Even if TH had a town read on me, the smarter play there would have been to just note vote at all and hope the cards fell his way.

Why is this important?
Because it means that — especially for high capacity players, of which everyone in this game is one, there is no incentive to slack off as there can be in a normal mafia game. Thus, our scum will be found not in those who are unusually quiet but rather those who are unusually loud.

Town: 50
Master: 25
Anti-Monitor-25

Town: 60

I don't know why me voting for nutella who did not flip town and mac who is not confirmed town must mean I'm bad. I voted for mac because I thought his gameplay matched his other mafia gameplay before. We still don't know that mac isn't bad. I can see why people think I'm not playing well this game and that's a fair assessment because I'm having a hard time keeping up and making reads there is so much going on. So yeah I am trying my best and I always think it's better to be honest and to at least try to put my vote somewhere that I think makes sense than to make up fake reads or not vote at all. People always think I'm scummy because my posts are weird and my gameplay style doesn't make sense to them.
It’s more that your vote pattern fits a radish teammate
You also voted mac over radishes so what does that say about you? I have said before I'm not familiar with radishes and had nothing to compare to. I know they are newer here and don't know a lot of people and I didnt know if they came off as scummy because of that. When I played in all my circuits this happened to therealet and everyone gave them a super hard time and they ended up being civ. I didn't have any real read on radishes so I didnt vote there. When I made my post about mac and TH the reason I included both of them is because they were the wagons with the most votes so I put my thoughts on both. Then I saw slooneis post town reading TH which led me more in the direction of voting mac over TH at the time. Then I wasn't around because I was busy IRL. That's about it. I always think it's so funny when people look way too far into what I'm doing when there isn't anything behind it.
Sabie, can you give me two or three reads? In any direction.

I believe that. It must be very exciting to wait for an analysis from JaggedJimmyJay. But that doesn't stop you from doing things. :meany:
I think this entire project is counterproductive.

Two things
When a mafia team is eliminated, does the remaining team then kill every night, or still just every other night?
And re: the poll, Radish is on it and Colin is not.
Thanks, fixed. Tony is currently voting for Colin. :o

If a team gets eliminated, the other team kills every night.

I think our best option today is to lynch someone who has high equity for being on the master’s team with Mac and also without Mac.

Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Day 3]

That sounds stupid so let’s phrase this differently:
If Mac is scum, is there anyone who is surely also scum?
Lynch them instead.
Mac has a very limited range of possibilities and if we lynch him on autopilot and we’re wrong we risk having no leads on what will soon be a fully powered scum team.

You’re my stall vote before I get my computer out to do the work. I’m trying to figure out why I read you as town you on day 1. Realistically, you’re fifth suspect on the list but you’re first suspect for being on the team we need to kill someone on.

Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Day 3]

Alright before I begin, some words on method:

Jack said something earlier along the line of “Radishes flipping scum halves the amount of spots left for Mac” and I initially didn’t find much importance in that. But it has to do with plans: the plan yesterday was that if Radish were town Mac was very likely scum and if Radish were scum we could search and easily find links from that. Radish flipping scum opened up new possibilities, but I and others then pointed out that lynching two anti-monitor members in succession from this point probably leaves town at (11-13)-4 or so, not terrible but not great.
So then we return to a Mac lynch. Reasonable. But this, I think, carries its own set of problems: there’s no plan. Just as town has a bad winrate even lynching scum day 1 in normal games, lynching Mac now — when Mac is likely to not last the night (Bow and scum kill) and certainly not the game — leaves us without any place to go. So we should be looking for someone who has the highest chance of being bad WITHOUT being on a team with Mac or Rad/Sab. Maybe we lynch Mac at the end of the day, but we need to at least have some idea.

Therefore, I will split analyses into three groups of which everyone can be scored:
Bad with R/S, Bad with Mac, Bad w/o R/M

For instance
TSP:
Bad with R/S
Low
Bad with Mac
Medium High
Bad w/o R/M
Low

I think the ideal lynch candidate for today will have results of
Low
Medium
High

But anyone with
High
High
High
Or something should obviously be looked at.

Now I’ll pull out my computer and open a spreadsheet and read some ISOs.

Dom wrote: Tue Mar 03, 2020 10:34 am Question for all you Mac believers:

If Mac is good, then what's up with his position on me?
Am I bad? Am I good? Am I whatever is convenient to get Mac out of the situation he is in?

Mac has no scruples. He has no positions. When engaged with (on sabie) he rebuffs because you can't demagogue by acting in good faith. He claims the suspicion of him is all toxic personal attacks. It is not. I suspect Mac because he is not trying to solve the game. He is trying to win. We all are, however, some of us need to solve the game to win. Mac just needs to kill everyone else.

Turnip Head is employing the exact same strategy. Engage in bad faith. Make civ reads, and don't have a dialogue. Obfuscate. Do whatever you can to muddy the record.

I don't like these two in this game. They need to start trying to get lynched.
Has anyone town read Turnip? Is there any reason to?
