Re: Welcome to Night Vale Mafia [DAY 5]
Assuming that Eloh was Hiram or Kevin, no. I am not knowingly aligned with Eloh.
I feel like Kevin is more likely to flip as Cecil, but Hiram is a wild card as well, and one that (if I recall) was hinted at in the cecil text.
My money is on Hiram.

Actually, it makes sense no matter what. You could have info that suggests to you both are town and you don't want to be cast in a negative light for putting a late vote on a townie.
lol. Then I would have voted Jack without reservation.
Or I would have bussed Rico out of irritation.
"Info that suggests you both are town, fear being late decision on a town lynch"
So Mafia are never on the tail end of a lynch. Gotcha.
For the record, when I voted, I'm pretty sure there were plenty of people left to vote.

Re: Welcome to Night Vale Mafia [DAY 5]
Rico is a weird option. Golden was convinced he wasn't Pol, but his interactions with Pol have been weird.
Assuming Rico's telling the truth, the curse is on him again today, and it obviously isn't a reference or a joke.
Why would Pol drop the joke to hammer down on Rico?

Re: Welcome to Night Vale Mafia [DAY 5]
Rico is either cursed or fake-cursed today, with something actually limiting. Examining both of those options:
1. Rico has been legit cursed. That would mean that the Politicians have a reason to curse him. Rico has some knowledge that he just got recently. No idea how that's possible, or whether Rico could actually get it across to us even without the curse.
2. Rico is faking it. He is a politician, and has faked two curses while using two other in a weird theme-y way. Pros: Rico is clearly all about the post gimmicks. He's also been blaming INH for being FOL all game, and INH is... not that? I forget why we confirmed that, but I have a good town read on INH. Rico is not being harassed over his use of smilies today.
Con: 2 self-targets with a decently powerful role is bonkers. Then again, politician's whole play is bonkers. Also Golden's argument, which I'm not looking back up right now.

Updating ISOs
That removes my biggest barrier to him being politician.
Sprit looks worse now. Voted for Eloh. Complained about the TSP lynch. Possible he knew what the plan was for the Tan Man claim.speedchuck wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2017 10:42 am Sprit was not that useful D1.
Possible w/w with Boomslang on D1 interactions.
D2 Sprit stayed outside of the Dom/Golden spat and said he saw the lynch as a choice between them. Possibly a way to narrow the lynch to two non-teammates. Does suggest moving away from it in the same post, though.
Did vote LC, and decently early. Almost impossible that Sprit is a Strex
Is pro-INH on day 3. Seems to legitimately be a conclusion he came to. Doubt he would go pretend to ISOread INH as a teammate unless prompted.
Anti-epi around the same time
Soft defense of TSP. Votes for Eloh. Expresses distaste for the TSP lynch, blames it on a gut feeling.
While I don't know Sprit's stance on post gimmicks and cursing people to use them, I do know him. The emotional outburst at Jack on D1, and the vote for Rico... I suspect those are 100% genuine.
I've seen more than one Spritsplosion in my time.
Upon ISO, I cannot condone a vote on Sprit. He's not strex, and if Eloh is the dragon, he's probably not politicians. I doubt w/w with INH.
If he's doing weird thing with the Eloh vote, I guess Boomslang could be politician with him, but I find it very unlikely.
Moderate townread.

Moreso, was Neverwhere likely to use the curses like pol has? Timmer wasn't here, and TSP has been around about as long as I have.

Re: Welcome to Night Vale Mafia [NIGHT 4]
Spoiler: show
We still need someone who was around to curse people, and INH is technically still in the pool of dwindling suspects for that.
He voted Eloh rather than TSP on the TSP lynch.
He's consistently put TSP low on his readlist, but never made a case against him.
The thinking that LC and Faceless Old Lady are on the same team would require faking ignorance. Not sure, again, if that's the meta.
I forget what the really good arguments were for him not being FOL, but that's what I wrote.

Re: Welcome to Night Vale Mafia [DAY 3]
You had legitimate reason to think TSP was politician, and Jack had reason to think he's Marcus. If a person has a chance of being on both teams, there's a better chance he's on one.Golden wrote: ↑Sat Jul 29, 2017 4:14 pmSpeed reads supatown to me. I can't help it! But there's little in there for me to rule him out of being politician.speedchuck wrote: ↑Sat Jul 22, 2017 8:52 pm Ugh I do not feel like figuring all of this out right now.
Between TSP and INH... I've been more consistently bad-feely about INH, but the TSP case has merit. Not lynching Dom today. Wilgy is a possibility that I need to ISO, perhaps tomorrow.
Wait, are Jack and Golden voting for TSP for completely different reasons? Golden thinks he's a politician, Jack thinks he's Marcus. And there's a legit argument for both.
Sure, Vote TSP.
He did theorise Tony could be Strex. He also correctly guessed timmer could be on politicians. Would he have done either of those if pol with them?
But the above vote post for TSP is perhaps... odd. Speed, why is Tony more palatable for a vote simply because Jack's reasons and my reasons were different? (My reason for voting him - he was too concerned about proving he wasn't Marcus rather than proving he wasn't bad - seem to be correct. Should trust my instincts more.)
Just some weird statistical thinking, is all. I'd rather vote for a person who has scummy behavior that can fit on either team than a guy who might be politician because of meta-curse reasons.
Please ask any questions you need to ask. I'm out of town till midafternoon tomorrow, but I'll answer before the poll ends.

Re: Welcome to Night Vale Mafia [DAY 6]
I can answer that if you like.
...
I, uh, forgot.
On another note, Dom's insistence about Sprit makes me think he's the tracker. No way he would lie. Not at this phase. For all Quin's talk about being careful, I'm pretty sure that there's only one politician left, and no strex. With Jack's assurance on timmer, and TSP's lies. Which means, any liar must be willing to take the blame once wrong, and possibly die tomorrow.
So Dom is the tracker. Sprit probably didn't visit anyone last night. He's not the curse-giver. Wilgy is cecil, wouldn't fake it. All three of those are clear.
Down to Rico, INH, and uhhhh Quin. And me.
I don't know what to say to that. INH is the better choice, since he hasn't been cursed and isn't quin/Neverhere. Should I get lynched today, INH needs to go tomorrow probably. Dom can track one of them and see if a kill/curse happens. That will narrow it down.
Does this all sound right?

Without using POE?
Because, y'know, I've made several POE analysis posts since daystart.
I mean, if you're a lie detector (and a stingy one), try this: I had no idea what Wilgy would be cursed today. I did not curse him. I did not visit him in any way, shape, or form last night.
My arguments today have been based on alignment with other players, statements that don't make sense, and POE. I don't do tonereads. I can't read tone.

Re: Welcome to Night Vale Mafia [DAY 6]
Since I'm probably out of the game, I'll tell you why I was lower effort and not super-hard scumhunting this game, Sprit.
I spend a decent amount of time on my breaks at work looking at the game. During my lunch break, and so on. But one of the guys on my team, a real annoyance, decided without prompting to help me automate a 1 minute process. For convenience.
That automation has taken the last week and a half of him sitting at my desk, over my shoulder, guiding me to recreate the entire effing system for the smallest amount of convenience. I got only the smallest of breaks to catch up on the game, because this guy doesn't eat lunch. I have basically had a coworker over the shoulder for almost two weeks, one that will absolutely call me out for slacking on my unclassified computer.
If I seem frustrated, that's part of the reason. Anyone picking me apart for not keeping notes and following up on everything perfectly is just piss in the wind. The worst part is that we're testing his automated system when we get back to work, and if it doesn't work, this whole thing starts over again.
