Re: Nat'l Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
day 1 I had the initial idea that the ability used on him would likely be a wolf ability but I hadn't said it in thread, so when he brought it up day 2, I found it very agreeable. in hindsight though, after abbi claiming it so *so* openly, it strengthened my read on her and it weakened the argument I could have made for leetic earlier. but he has this sort of ... high energy to his posts that comes off as towny entitlement to me. I haven't seen leetic as a wolf before so I could be getting finagled here, but I'd be lying if I haven't seen towns push mac like this before. I did also consider that why would wolf leetic do all this in thread and not just night kill you instead if the wolves really want you gone, however this stank-slank-gamestate might be the only possible world where he could successfully try to push you and get it for free. i'm still just sort of clinging to my initial town feelings towards him, but I'm open to the possibility he is power

Re: Nat'l Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
also re: mac
I think mac is more likely town and my explanation besides being good at reading mac is similar to tutuu's - town mac has this thing where you can feel his genuinely frustrated tone come through in a way that I find is exponentially harder for him to emulate when he is wolfing
I was skeptical at first too cuz he just came off a strong game as a wolf and he had some of that ~tone~ that I associate with him trying to assert an air of confidence to appear towny, but as time went on and he got more pushback and the sig vote lol... idk I think it's just more likely him as town

So this was either a one-use power of the wolves, something they can do again, or they can give townies other post restrictions. In any case, you were most definitely stuck singing as per the host post, so an ability was most definitely used on you.
And I jived with you on reads. So
dm has hardly existed, guess she might not need to if not getting pushed type of player? easy to slank if nobody cares and the 1 person who did couldn't say anything about it
abbi, would wolf abbi just straight up admit she did it? part of me wants to say yes because in these instances she also always says yes but lol... could just not claim it - though maybe that makes her look wolfier to you now if she doesnt just say it was her action? but if she cared that much specifically about you, she could have nk'd you lol... unless this was w/w violence to appear towny and she doesnt have to fear claiming the ability use on you vis a vis being teammates (I highly doubt there is a world where its town abbi and wolf leetic here, cuz why would town abbi silence someone she thinks is wolfy and then also not provide that explanation when admitting the role use later?)
rondo... lol... I dont want to attempt to mentally extrapolate on what he would do in that moment - my gut says he wouldn't care enough to bother silencing you regardless of who is with
so my conclusion is that I dont have a conclusion

Re: Nat'l Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Look at you goMacDougall wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 10:35 pm Let's say the relatively consensus poe here is something like pyxxy/abigail/scotty. I personally don't have Scotty as mafia but let's say we arrive at a position where he's the third most sussed slot for arguments sake (which he might be).
If we as a town are content to say it's unlikely that there are 0 mafia in this group, which I am due to how many townreads I have outside of it.
We limit the amount of dialogue speculating outside of it and focus our energy on figuring out who to chop from within it, we serve a few purposes.
1. The town miselim is given enough opportunity to project themselves to avoid a shrug chop.
2. The Mafia are forced to pick a side in a way that can result in them bussing, or outing themselves choosing not to bus.
3. The town outside of it reveal themselves via solid teamwork and progressing the game state along a town agenda.
4. The Mafia get boxed out.
5. It prevents a lot of town on town posturing/ego warfare.
I try to force this paradigm in every town game I play and it's why my town winrate over the past couple of years is not just high but so so many of the wins are rapid.
In the games in which I am proven to have 0 wolves in the POE I end up operating within, mafia usually make the mistake of keeping me alive and I'm capable of being able to reevaluate eventually once it's discovered that the d1 poe was pure.
The caveat is the town wintate and the "rapidness" directly correlates with how hard the town try as a group and how committed they are to simply being townie. The more bad townplay. Low efforting. Tinfoiling. Open wolfing as town, that town exhibit, the longer the wolves survive and closer to parity they end up.
So it's important for poe clamped town to keep their neck above the water and keep trying to be town. It's also important that the day 1 poe gets resolved quickly so town PR play is very important ie. vigs need to shoot d1 cws and investigatives need to get green checks on possible miselims etc.
When towns come together in this manner town generally just absolutely steamrolls almost any mafia team except pure "we lost the game at rand" level mafia teams.

1) No. You said "porscha you over reacted" to which i said no i didnt, because i assumed you meant over reacted to our conversation. *then* you said it was about rondo, to which i said, i didnt over react to rondo and i dont know why youd think i was talking about rondo there. And then i followed it up again and made it very clear i was always operating under the assumption you had meant *our* conversation, not over reaction to rondo, and thats what i was referring to. So unless i missed you specifically accusing me of over reacting to rondo earlier, im almost certain you vaguely accused me of general "over reaction" and i dont know why you think I would assume you meant in regards to rondo when we were already going back and forth with each other. 2. This is absolutely typical of my Day 1 play, you described it almost perfectly. I don't have a hard time engaging, I just tend to listen more than talk, regarding Day 1 conversation. Most of the suspicions and accusations don't resonate with me this early.
2) it is getting harder for me to believe this has been a good faith misunderstanding that town long con just so happens to have so few other thoughts about the game, only focusing on me, and still trying to weaponize a misunderstanding to shade me. Im really trying to let you cook cuz i have witnessed and been privy to the "god i feel like long con is so scummy" early issue and seen you town up later. So if that world is possible this game, then please let me try and find it, this has been monopolizing for both of us (more for you than me)

Re: Nat'l Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
I think as an entire poe it didnt seem to have a lot of thought behind it... scotty at that time had hardly posted, youve pushed him (fair argument), already was on pyxxy. And then just threw abbi in there. Idk, maybe youre right and its easy like that, but if scotty is their loudest wolf and he immediately fucked it up, idk how abbi/pyxxy plan on pulling the game out of their asses and it doesnt seem like they care!MacDougall wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 8:05 pm Porscha calling my solve of Pyxxy/Scotty/Abigail LHF feels like a pretty bad defense and they feel a bit unusual to me so I could definitely have been wrong earlier on that townread.
Porscha/Abigail/Pyxxy or something could be the solve maybe.

I feel like that's generous but w/e lolrobyn wrote: ↑Sat Dec 23, 2023 3:25 pm this sucks, long con is probably town, his iso has actual solving [as in trying in good faith to understand porscha and get on good terms with her, and is still voting her aka good faith push]. i thought that me suspecting him would ruffle his feathers a bit more, especially with mac changing his stance on long con. maybe he actually has nerves unlike me, but i wouldn't chop him today. and he does have weird posts like "Why isn't Porscha voting for Long Con?" but after thinking about that post, it betrays the fact that long con is actually and non-performatively trying to understand and mentally model porscha instead of some nonsense
