Re: RED vs. BLUE: Endgame
Not 100% on what you're asking, but here's what I got in a PM when the game began.Ricochet wrote:As for INH, whilst this is in no way an implication regarding what he could have done, I'm noticing that, if he received his role card the way it's written in post-game, there isn't a mention that he has BTSC. Lover role cards usually go both ways.
No, we're talking role cards here. If there's a "Julianna, you and Dave have BTSC" card, there should be a "Dave, you and Julianna have BTSC" one.Golden wrote:I think he noticed from the fact we had a btsc thread.Ricochet wrote:Lover role cards usually go both ways.
Me and Leetic/Golden never completely shared our roles with each other until Day 5, when I laid out that Trump had to be still in the game because of my power. So I didn't see what his role card looked like at all.Good morning,
You are IVANKA TRUMP, a member of the Trump family. You are one of Donald Trump's most trusted children and advisers. You're strong bond to your family gives you the strength to protect them. Each night, you may protect one member of the Trump Family. This will keep them safe from nightkills on the night you send their name in. PM your protection choice by the end of the night phase, specifying which Trump family member (not a player name) that you wish to protect. You cannot protect anyone whose last name is not Trump, so you cannot protect your husband.
You also have BTSC with your husband, Jared Kushner. Here is a link to a private chat for you two until we can get a BTSC thread set up.
I poked G-Man along in regards to replacing Leetic, as from my perspective he'd been inactive for multiple phases. G-Man couldn't really keep him in the game for much longer without me needing some form of explanation as to why he was still around. I kinda forced his hand there.
As for the whole PoE thing, I rest squarely on Rico's side. Frankly, the whole entire thing is just exhausting at this point, and I hope that in the future everybody can recognize everyone else's viewpoints as valid without dismissing them solely because they disagree on strategy. I also hope we can avoid people emphasizing one particular playstyle as the clear, superior, and obvious choice based on their anecdotal evidence, and chastising others for not getting behind them.
And that's all I have to say about that.

So 3J getting lynched would have probably resulted in a civ win.

Re: RED vs. BLUE: Day 5
I don't necessarily know if I'd call myself a "survivalist", but there have been one or two specific moments where I may or may not have deliberately refuted one or two assertations that may or may not have been true in order to protect myself from NK's.
It wasn't to hurt the civilians, that's for sure, and I've been genuine 99% of my posts.
Call it intuition, but this is probably the most important vote yet.
Presumably, we have this role line up:
Civilian 1
Civilian 2
Donald Trump
Serial Killer
Now, I know that I'm one of the first two. And I read Golden as civ, but I doubt he's Big T himself.
That leaves you and MM.
One of you is Trump.
One of you is the Serial Killer.
If we make the wrong decision, I very much doubt me or Golden will survive the night, and we enter into wacky 1 v 1 territory.
Also, G-Man has heavily implied that the Serial Killer's win condition relies upon Trump being dead.
So, if we choose the wrong person, the Serial Killer wins. I dunno if the SK's win con necessarily conflicts with the civ's, but I certainly don't want to risk it.
I guess what I'm trying to say here is, 3J, what's your read on MM?
And MM, what's your read on 3J?
Also, what's your stance on walls, immigrants, and taco bowls?

I think it's more the mass of posts from about Day 2 to Day 3 that show you listing every player in a rainbow list as yellow. There was a definite attitude of indifference there that, looking back, still reads blend-y to me. The explained inactivity isn't something that I find suspicious.Sloonei wrote:Sloonei wrote:Every word of this is bullshit. We are in 2 games together right now, are you aware of this? And then I am not feigning any confusion. I am not saying I don't know who I'm gonna vote for either. I am voting for Metalmarsh. I have been voting for Meetalmarsh for a long time now. Look at the poll. See my vote on Metalmarsh, and all my posts saying that Metalmarsh is my top suspect to be the serial killer. But then you came in here and dropped this turd of a vote on the poll, so now I'm not sure what to think.
Also, your vote is on Quin, not MM.

Voted Sloonei.
I think both him and Quin have cases directed at them with decent reasoning behind them, but I still see Sloonei as the SK more than I do Quin.
Plus, I don't like surprise lynching someone who made clear that they wouldn't be around at EoD.

Rainbow List:
Golden 2.0
I may not always agree with your opinions, but I will say that my annoyance with you has been for purely game-based reasons. I know everybody, especially me, got very frustrated earlier in the game, so I took a bit of a step back from the computer screen and repeated a slightly modified version of the Mystery Science Theatre 3000 Mantra:
"Just repeat to yourself, it's just a game, I should really just relax."
MetalMarsh
Metalmarsh has struck me as an especially zany civ. I realize his "Stop Making Sense" thread behavior can seem off-putting, but I'm not viewing that as a reason to start exterminating Marmots everywhere. He doesn't really line up with my idea of a SK, and how an SK would behave.
JaggedJimmyJay

Yes, hardy har, it looks like I was dead wrong about 3J being a part of the mafia. But I'm not willing to clear him 100% from suspicion just yet. He's still done some things that makes me raise my eyebrows so high that my face starts hurting, but I'm not exactly sure how the kills match up to him.
He's not somebody I want to lynch today, but someone I'm not gonna look away from just yet.
Quin 2.0
Quin 2.0 came back into the game with some pretty nice cogent thread analysis. It didn't quite make me go "WHO IS THIS NEW AMAZING QUIN, AND WHERE HAS HE BEEN ALL MY LIFE?", but it was cool beans. But, as things and times get tough, Quin's still Quinning along, and to take a page out of Edgar Allen's playbook, he's someone I don't have as many reasons to call civ than some of the other players. I don't like his sudden case against Marmot, and nothing else he's done has inspired much confidence in me. He's definitely someone I'm looking at today.

Re: RED vs. BLUE: Day 4
So, Golden has been taken in by the paradoxical WIFOM tornado of scumminess that is 3J.
Quin and Marmot are now at each others throats for some reason.
And 3J is just encouraging the Quin and Marmot thing, drawing a line in the sand between him, Golden, Marmot and the treasonous Quin.
Quin and Sloonei, what's your read on 3J?
I feel at this point, forcing a tie is the best possible scenario here.
Marmot, are you dedicated to voting Quin?

Re: RED vs. BLUE: Day 4
The only time you've been even relatively right is when you suspected Rey. And even then, you tried to lynch Wilgy first. It took Marmot intervening and forcing a 3J vs. Rey situation to get you to lynch him.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:I'm honestly confused. I understand that I am not immune to suspicion and that everyone deserves scrutiny. However, in this game, it seems as though no matter what the circumstances, to some people I just can't be town -- the tinfoil case is always more moving. What have I done in this game that is so suspicious? This isn't rhetorical, I'd like an answer.
Every other concrete thing, by concrete I mean not speculation, that you've said has been wrong.
I don't trust you as far as I could throw you.
Here's another decent summary from the late, great, only person who actually agreed with me, Epignosis:
And using your own logic, you're the person left who I have the least reasons to call town.Epignosis wrote:I decided to do this differently. Instead of pulling quotes and all that, I'm just going to summarize my view.
1. 3J argued with Ricochet over pointless things.
I suspected you early on because I believed your back and forth with Ricochet was nitpicky and exploded into something stupid. I also believe you were nitpicking over things I thought were obvious.
2. 3J fought against Scott's lynch.
The biggest issue is that 3J wanted INH dead (or leetic) instead of Scotty. Why did you do this, and why wouldn't you let Scotty die?
3. 3J voted for Quin.
I understand you were the counter choice, but if you are good, and you get to win with you faction, then I would think you would have been doing what it is you are doing now. Now it looks like you are trying to scare people from voting you. See below.
4. 3J called me the serial killer.
This was your first reaction to the idea of a serial killer. You came after me.

Re: RED vs. BLUE: Day 4
Let's break this down.
Night 2: Ricochet and Golden 1.0; Golden's someone I could see being a prime SK target. Someone who was uber-active, uber-opinionated, and widely seen as civ would be hard to contend with. Ricochet makes perfect sense to me as a 3J kill. After getting into numerous disagreements, they sunk into a passive-aggressive weird-ass relationship where Rico would vote with 3J while sarcastically making fun of the reasoning 3J provided. Rico in this game was all bizarre Trump tweets and indignation, someone I could see a 3J baddie team wanting out.
Night 3: DrWilgy and Epignosis; Remember when 3J directly told the SK to get out a baddie or else we all may be screwed? Lookie at what happened. Now, this is a WIFOM minefield, but the scenario that makes the most sense to me is the SK killing Wilgy, and 3J using that as cover to eliminate Epi, a player who was both unpredictable, clever, and against him.
These kills often work out quite well for 3J. At least, half of the time.
Did anyone else notice that Rey's alignment was revealed in much the same way as Scotty's? Meaning that Scotty most likely didn't have some special seemer role.
I think G-Man is just trolling us with these delayed reveals, and there isn't an explicit role-based mechanical reason for them.
Meaning that if 3J was Scotty's teammate, he'd have no idea that Scotty would initially flip civ. So there's no reason for him not to defend Scotty.
We're both so damn far down the WIFOM rabbit hole in regards to 3J's Day 1 behavior, that I doubt me bringing up these points will change your mind, Golden. But I'd feel like an absolute failure if I didn't try.
Either 3J is playing the worst scum game ever or the worst town game ever. I think he's cannily manipulating you, Golden, and using his thread cachet to spread the suspicion, and quash any legitimate cases against him.
I'd argue the opposite, but okay.Golden wrote:Because nothing about Jay's game makes any sense if he is mafia.Sloonei wrote:Why are you confident it's not Jay?
Night 1: Boomslang and Wilgy 1.0; They were both fairly non-entities, Wilgy being Wilgy, and Boomslang voting for Leetic/Golden 2.0 after Leetic made his one weird post that's still somehow still getting quoted. Neither I couldn't see a bad 3J, Scotty, and Rey team going after. The kills are very poor choices for him.

YES IT DOES MAKE SENSE.Doing things like defending scotty on day one makes no sense if he is a teammate.

Uh-huh.Jay's entire game has done nothing but put him under lynch pressure for the entire game when he would know he had to be the guy who would see this through if they were going to win.
"This guy is acting too damn scummy to really be scum."Jay's game is, for me, beyond obviously town. I really don't see any way he could be mafia. If he is, it's the worst game he has ever played as mafia. I guess people do have bad games, but really... SK, possibly. Mafia, no.
Either 3J is playing the worst scum game ever or the worst town game ever. I think he's cannily manipulating you, Golden, and using his thread cachet to spread the suspicion, and quash any legitimate cases against him.
No, he kills Rico and Epi. He leaves me alive because I'm not what you would call the Syndicate's most persuasive player. He kills me and keeps you, epi and inh all alive?
He would have voted for literally anyone other than himself. He certainly said enough and set up enough in the thread to basically justify anything. Plus, there's the ol' self-preservation excuse. He only escaped lynch yesterday by the grace of you going for rey, which given you suspected Jay was by no means any guarantee.
It just doesn't make sense.

Re: RED vs. BLUE: Night 3
Personally, I think Golden's claim about Epi suspecting 3J, "because he disagrees with his methods" is utter hogwash.
Then again, I believe that the only difference between how 3J/Golden and everyone else plays the game is a combination of apathy towards lynched civilians, complete and utter conviction in reads that will never be doubted for a second, (that last one describes Golden more than 3J) and an air of superiority.
So what do I know?
and lol at 3J calling everyone who doesn't like PoE's "clueless" people who just DON'T UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT, MAN!

and lol at 3J calling everyone who doesn't like PoE's "clueless" people who just DON'T UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT, MAN!

Re: RED vs. BLUE: Night 3
Here's a good question for the entire thread:Golden wrote:Also, thoughts on my kill are, mafia did it. I think that the vig/sk kill was rico given he was literally asking for it. Which means I think the sk is someone with a sense of humour (although that doesn't narrow it down a lot in this group).
One thing I still feel very confident in saying is that I do not believe Jay is responsible for any of the kills. His posts from the start of the game until now reek of trying to solve the game, and the kills don't make sense from his perspective.
One thing I realised I didn't fully think through and explain while I was alive, when epi said 'thats what makes it a good play' in response to my points about mafia not doing what jay did, is this:
1) What makes something a good play for mafia is that it makes them less likely to be lynched.
2) Defending a person who ends up flipping scum on day one makes you MORE likely to be lynched. People get lynched for it over and over again... it's usually inevitable.
3) That's why mafia don't do it. And while I understand epi's point about 'doing the unexpected' as a baddie, it's still actually a bad play, when you are mafia, to do the thing that has a much bigger chance of getting you lynched, even if its very uncommon for baddies to do it.
I was able to finally fully figure out why I don't believe Jay would ever have done that. It's just a bad play on any level.
But besides that, I think jay has done a lot of good solving in this game. If he is bad, bravo for having me fooled.
What has Jay solved in this entire game?
What has Jay done to help the civilians this entire game?
What can we point to Jay providing to the thread that has benefitted the civilians in any way, shape, or form?
I believe the answer to the above three questions to be a loud, hearty, all-caps: "NOTHING"
He's done a whole lot of analysis, sure. He's analyzed and postulated and WIFOM'd until he's red in the face.
To what avail?
Here we are, Night 3, and he's encouraged us to lynch a civilian every damn lynch.
When are we going to stop defending him because he types a lot of words and just lynch him already?
Golden, it's time to set aside your rose-colored WIFOM glasses. You could interpret the Day 1 vote a hundred different ways, and I'm still not going to buy you clearing him as civ for it.
Here is my platform:
1. Lynch the biggest and most ineffectual thread controller in the game.
2. Not lose from the probable LYLO Day 4.
3. Change the American government system to a dictator, and make me that dictator.

I mean, if votes were piling onto me, and nobody else found you suspicious at all, I'd consider possibly placing a self-preservation vote on either of them. Why would I vote for either one of them over someone I've suspected for the last two days?
Wilgy and Rey are only in my suspect pool purely in a PoE, "everyone I don't townread I find suspicious" sense.
I think the baddies are more likely to be movers and shakers as opposed to inactives, but that's mainly based on gut than anything concrete.
I do believe that they represent a nice spectral figure for you to draw attention towards and hopefully away from yourself. If I desperately wanted to change the in-thread conversation, I could certainly do worse than leading a charge against inactives. There's no way anybody can really trust them, so it's unlikely anyone will attempt to mount a defense. Plus, it's not like they're going to show up and challenge you.
The above passage is mostly WIFOM funny business, but you yourself are always championing the ol' Wine in Front of Me. I figured I might as well give it a shot.

You're the person who I have the strongest scummiest feelings about in this game. You yourself said, we need to lynch a baddie today, or else we may be screwed. However, right now I get the impression that you were counting on me being lynched -- it's in all of your language. You're asking Epi why you're more suspicious than 3J. You're asserting that my lynch is not only the most "likely" to yield a productive flip, but that it'd also be the most informative. You made it quite obvious after Quin 1.0 flipped town that you were committing the eggs in your basket to my lynch eventually, and though you've expressed minor doubts it still seems to be at the forefront of everything you're saying (even where it isn't pertinent).
Specifically it's that "more suspicious than 3J" thing you're feeding Epignosis that is bugging me. I think it may support the INH-as-SK theory, where your premier concern would be getting out of this day alive -- and the obvious method for doing so is to use me as your meat shield.
Why the hell shouldn't I be going after you full-bore?

I wanted to see if he had anything against me that had more substance than the above points.Epignosis wrote:I decided to do this differently.
For this to make sense, I want you to tell me whom you couldn't see me killing. You used a linguistic formula I love. "I could see." I could see MM or even Epi in that role, now that I think about it. Granted, this is kind of the first time I have thought about it. You yourself say that we need to lynch a baddie and not the "SK" today, but you're devoting almost half of your time to researching possibilities and questioning others about the "SK".
