Re: Stanley Parable Mafia {CYCLE SIX; DAY ONE}
Here's my little breakdown of what happened cycle to cycle:
CYCLE ONE
The "Work Ending" is selected, and Llama wins the poll meaning that he starts off the whole chain of who saves who. MetalMarsh is the odd man out, which is unfortunate because of him being Stanley, one of the more important roles. I was hoping that people would discuss who they saved, meaning that the baddies, who saved each other, could possibly be caught.
CYCLE TWO
The "Insanity Ending" is selected, which means that Stanley is instantly eliminated, and Mariella (TH) gains any abilities he had. Of course, Stanley (MetalMarsh) had already been eliminated, meaning that nobody was eliminated. TH knew about this ending, and was the swing vote. He decided to screw over his fellow civvie in order to possibly gain powers. This wasn't the best choice considering that MM had died before gaining any powers. Ain't karma a bitch? Though, this was only the second cycle. TH was making a huge assumption that Stanley had gained some powers in the first cycle. It didn't pay off.
CYCLE THREE
The "Game Ending" is selected, after the "Art Ending" isn't even attempted. To be honest, the inclusion of that ending was mostly a joke, considering how much you all love posting challenges. This is the only ending in the game that has two eliminations, and also the only ending that functions as a normal game of mafia. Llama was lynched because of Mongoose's weird crusade against him. The un-dynamic duo of MR and Vomps received a NK. Vomps tried to use it on himself, probably as some elaborate in-joke that he assumes we all know. Luckily, me and MR managed to talk him out of it, and Turnip Head was eliminated, possibly because of karma rearing it's ugly head once again.
CYCLE FOUR
The "Museum/Second Narrator" Ending was selected, which meant that Stanley would of won the game if he wasn't the first person eliminated from the game. Mongoose launched her new vendetta against Vomps, which was actually accurate. The biggest question I have is how Mongoose knew, and what she based her accusations on. I look forward to learning how. So, Vomps was eliminated, making MR a rebel without a cause.
CYCLE FIVE
The "Life Ending" was selected, which meant that unless MR received no votes, he would be instantly eliminated, and the civvies would win. Mongoose's vote for him won the civvies the game, which makes this quote particularly ironic:

The "Life Ending" was a surprisingly optimistic note to end on, and maybe the most beautiful ending in my opinion. Fantastic game by Mongoose, who single-handedly won the civs the game based on her hunches. Congrats to all.Mongoose wrote:Enjoy not winning

Re: Stanley Parable Mafia {CYCLE SIX; DAY ONE}
Overall, a great game to host. This marks the second time both A Person and Mongoose have won one of my games, I'm not sure if that says more about me or them. One thing that was a bit frustrating was the overall lack of discussion when it came to the polls that decided where the story would go. I was hoping someone would notice, maybe in the second cycle, that it literally was a word-for-word picture-for-picture recreation of the game. Yes, all of the endings were the same. There was literally a road map stating all of the different endings, and nobody bothered to search it out. I had obviously planned for someone to bring attention to that, and bring a new layer of strategy to the votes. In the end, everyone was too afraid to talk too much about the poll options, for fear of seeming like they were trying to steer the poll in a certain direction. This was particularly aggravating, because as a host, I wanted some drama to occur. Turnip Head and Metalmarsh each had info about certain endings. MetalMarsh knew about the Escape Pod ending, which would instantly end the game. TH knew about the Insanity ending, where Stanley would die, and TH would gain whatever powers he had. If I had to go back and do it again, I would make it very clear that this was a direct adaptation, and give more people info about certain endings.
Vomps and MR were the dastardly duo. MR sadly had limited mafia-ing time, while Vomps was, well, Vomps. It wasn't a particularly active chatroom.

Re: Stanley Parable Mafia {CYCLE FIVE; DAY THREE}
But as sunlight streamed into the chamber, he realized none of this mattered to him. For it was not knowledge or even power that he had been seeking, but happiness.
Perhaps his goal had not been to understand, but to let go.
No longer would anyone tell him where to go, what to do, or how to feel. Whatever life he lives, it will be his.
And that was all he needed to know. It was perhaps the only thing worth knowing.
Stanley stepped through the open door.
Stanley felt the cool breeze upon his skin, the feeling of liberation, the immense possibility of the new path before him.
This was exactly the way, right now, that things were meant to happen.
And Stanley was happy.

Blackness. And a rising chill of uncertainty.
Was it over?
Yes! He had won!
He had defeated the machine! Unshackled himself from someone else's command. Freedom was mere moments away!
And yet... Even as the immense door slowly opened, Stanley reflected on how many puzzles still lay unsolved.
Where had his coworkers gone? How had he been freed from the machine's grasp? What other mysteries did this strange building hold?

This mind control facility, it was too horrible to believe, it couldn't be true.
Had Stanley really been under someone else's control all this time? Was this the only reason he was happy with his boring job?
That his emotions had been manipulated to accept it blindly?
No! He refused to believe it! He couldn't accept it! His own life, in someone else's control? Never!
It was unthinkable! Wasn't it? Was it even possible?
Had he truly spent his entire life utterly blind to the world?
But here was the proof. The heart of the operation. Controls labeled with emotions: happy, or sad, or content.
Walking, eating, working, all of it monitored and commanded from this very place.
And as the cold reality of his past began to sink in, Stanley decided that this machinery would never again exert its terrible power over another human life.
For he would dismantle the controls once and for all.

Yet incredibly, by simply pushing random buttons on the keypad, Stanley happened to input the correct code by sheer luck. Amazing.
He stepped into the newly opened passageway.
Descending deeper into the building, Stanley realized he felt a bit peculiar.
It was a stirring of emotion in his chest, as though he felt more free to think for himself, to question the nature of his job.
Why did he feel this now, when for years it had never occurred to him?
This question would not go unanswered for long.
Stanley walked straight ahead into the large door marked "Mind Control Facility".

Yet there was not a single person here either. Feeling a wave of disbelief, Stanley decided to go up to his boss's office, hoping he might find an answer there.
Coming to a staircase, Stanley walked upstairs to his boss's office.
Stepping into his manager's office, Stanley was once again stunned to discover not an indication of any human life.
Shocked, unraveled, Stanley wondered in disbelief who orchestrated this. What dark secret was being held from him?
What he could not have known was that the keypad behind the boss's desk guarded the terrible truth that his boss had been keeping from him.
And so the boss had assigned it an extra secret pin number: 2845.
But of course, Stanley couldn't possibly have known this.

Re: Stanley Parable Mafia {CYCLE FIVE; DAY ONE}
This is the story of a man named Stanley. Stanley worked for a company in a big building where he was Employee 427. Employee 427's job was simple: he sat at his desk in room 427 and he pushed buttons on a keyboard. Orders came through a monitor on his desk, telling him what buttons to push, how long to push them, and in what order. This is what Employee 427 did every day of every month of every year, and although others might have considered it soul rending, Stanley relished every moment that the orders came in, as though he had been made exactly for this job.
And Stanley was happy.
And then one day something very peculiar happened. Something that would forever change Stanley. Something he would never quite forget. He had been at his desk for nearly an hour when he realized that not one single order had arrived on the monitor for him to follow. No-one had showed up to give him instructions, call a meeting, or even say "Hi". Never in all his years at the company had this happened, this complete isolation. Something was very clearly wrong. Shocked, frozen solid, Stanley found himself unable to move for the longest time. But as he came to his wits and regained his senses, he got up from his desk and stepped out of his office.
All of his co-workers were gone. What could it mean? Stanley decided to go to the meeting room, perhaps he had simply missed a memo.
You have up to 24 hours to make a decision, but I will end the poll when a majority is reached.
Good luck.

Guys, you have to remember to vote or I may get very angry!
Seriously, I may use all caps to shout at you!
It won't be pretty.

Re: Stanley Parable Mafia {CYCLE FOUR; DAY TWO}
And so he entered the chamber and stepped into the machine.
As the machine whirred into motion and Stanley was inched closer and closer to his demise, he reflected that his life had been of no consequence whatsoever.
Stanley can't see the bigger picture. He doesn't know the real story. Trapped forever in his narrow vision of what this world is.
Perhaps his death was of no great loss, like plucking the eyeballs from a blind man.
And so he resigned and willingly accepted this violent end to his brief and shallow life.
Farewell, Stanley.

At this point, Stanley was making a conscious and concerted effort to walk forward, and willingly confront his death.

Although this passageway had the word "Escape" written on it, the truth was that at the end of this hall, Stanley would meet his violent death.

Re: Stanley Parable Mafia {CYCLE FOUR; DAY ONE}

You have 24 hours to make a decision.

Re: Twin Peaks Mafia {Night 3}
Good luck.

Re: Twin Peaks Mafia {Night 3}
I wonder what he found.
If what he wanted was to be the winner of his own game, well, perhaps he's gotten it. Down in... wherever he is right now.
I wonder if he's happy with his choice, and if he's learned the heavy cost that comes with it.
He'll understand soon what I was trying to tell him. He needs me. Someone who will wrap everything up at the end, to make sense out of the chaos and the fear and the confusion.
That's who I am. That is what I mean to this world.
Oh yes. Yes, I'll be back, there's no other way. Once this ends, after it all comes to a close, then I'll be back.
The end will be here soon. Very soon.
I can wait.

No, actually, you know what? I think that's plenty.
I really don't care much to see you stumble through any more of these games, and I highly doubt you're any wiser for the experience, which is why rather than continue to waste my time I'm just going to leave you here.
You can pretend you've won the game if it makes it any richer for you, but as for me I've had enough.
So, why don't you get cozy in this room and if you have any grand revolutionary ideas for the perfect game of mafia, you can just sit there and let it ball up inside you for all eternity.
I don't need your advice. I don't need your ratings, and I certainly don't need the validation of a man whose job is to push buttons.
I think I'll just go about my business making meaningful cultural contributions to the world, and perhaps every now and then I'll think back to a man named Stanley who was objectively wrong in every decision he ever made. The thought won't last long.
Goodbye, Stanley. Good luck with your work, and I sincerely hope that everyone lives happily ever after.
