Re: Retrocausality Mafia - ENDGAME: A Reprieve in the Desert
Thanks speed for hosting a great game. My role's penultimate action was to bring Scotty back after he died but I needed another night to do that (and speed said it would work even if the mafia killed me the same night). My role card said it was important not to reveal that piece so I knew spirit was bad when he started revealing I was kind of a doctor cause he had to have seen the warning not to reveal that part. I really just kept the spot warm from Golden's spectacular play though and I believe he should be able to fly the winners banner. Also good job everyone I played with.

Re: Retrocausality Mafia - Day 5: Timelapse Painting
I think this will work out ok, I just want to remind everyone that I have to vote early tomorrow morning at the latest because I will be traveling tomorrow. I should arrive at my destination before EOD BUT the last time we made this trip the internet didn't work when we got there and we had to wait for someone who knew how to make it work. So, I want to be prepared just in case that happens by voting before we leave.

Re: Retrocausality Mafia - Day 5: Timelapse Painting
Busy night. I agree with the plan for Daisy to shoot sprityo. Also, Epi should be able to confirm whether he targeted me last night. Nothing bad happened to me in the night so if he targeted me it didn't hurt me, thank you Epi. That would rule Epi out in my mind from being PP. Also I can confirm Daisy targeting Golden after hinting is what caused Golden to call her civ.
Scotty, rip damn it. I'm hopeful we will win anyway though.
What else? I'm going to read Colin but are there any other questions directed toward me?

Re: Retrocausality Mafia - Night 4: That's No Moon; That's a Canvas
Wow, cool, thanks for the great explanation.Epignosis wrote: ↑Wed Jun 27, 2018 3:43 pmWhen I claimed doctor the first time, I wasn't entirely lying: My original role was such that if my target was the mafia's pick to go bye-bye that Night, I would go bye-bye in that person's stead. The existence of my role implied that there had to be precious civilian abilities out there to preserve.
I figured if the sole purpose of my role was to make like Jesus and save someone from death at my own expense, I might as well see if I could draw a kill the old fashioned way.
Maybe it was a stupid plan, but hey, I tried.
I targeted Golden Night 1, just as I said here.
This was just me amusing myself.

It is the year 2483, and I brought you here to try the Brew of the Modern Gods. Pip Lagosi.
Now, in 2483, something interesting happens.
I get elected.
The result of that election was the removal of the consequence that I would be eliminated when successfully protecting someone.
Guess what that makes me?
A damn doctor.![]()

Golden said this once and I will say it again, I am a searcher and I found my person early in the game. Why would you say things like this if you are civ? It looks like you are trying to place a target on my back.

Re: Retrocausality Mafia - Night 4: That's No Moon; That's a Canvas
Thanks you guys, this happens to be Golden's submission so I am happy if elected.
Epi, so you are saying you're not a doctor? Why did you say earlier you are a doctor? What are you then?
I'm very surprised about sig because here, he universally is accepted as bad but his voting for Mac says otherwise.
Golden, Moobyworld was exactly my thought too!
Mac, I'm glad to see someone else sees U-Pick when they look at Kyle. Kyle I hear what you're saying about your meta and maybe I should look at another game. Can you name one where you were civ?
I have work again today so I'll be back this afternoon and then I will need to vote tomorrow if I live tonight because I will be enroute to the lake on Friday and not sure I'll get there before EOD and many times the internet doesn't work immediately when we get there. Good news is EOD will be at 10 instead of 11 cause I'm changing time zones so maybe I will be able to keep my eyes open that long, lol!

Re: Retrocausality Mafia - Day 4: The Iliad was Lost to Time
So I just resumed my reading and decided to read lap since she was short. There was hardly anything there. She did indicate some suspicion for Luna but we don't know if Luna was bad and even if she was bad lap could have been bussing, though it doesn't seem like something she would do. She indicated she's on vacation now, unlikely to catch up, and she hasn't been back. What do those of you who have voted for her (I think that's Daisy and Epi) see that causes you to vote her over anyone else?

Re: Retrocausality Mafia - Day 4: The Iliad was Lost to Time
The only thing my role learns has already been disclosed to the thread. Did you learn anything last night?
I started reading your ISO and fell asleep - not because you are boring but because I was tired. It did occur to me as I was reading though that I felt like I was reading Kyle from U-Pick and that's not good (for those who don't know Kyle was bad in U-Pick and had us fooled so bad that he almost won). So Kyle, would you say there is a difference between your game here and your game in U-Pick? If so, what is that difference?

Thanks sprit. I don't remember ever seeing such a role before.
Also, I meant to say before that I am in agreement with trying to find someone that Scotty, Daisy and I can agree on. With that in mind I'm going to read Kyle, lap and Epi. I hope they didn't post as often as Golden.

Re: Retrocausality Mafia - Day 4: The Iliad was Lost to Time
Scotty what do you mean by "strongarmed"? Is that a term for a kill that goes through even though there is a protection?Scotty wrote: ↑Mon Jun 25, 2018 3:51 pmIt’s just circumstantial based on his confidence that mac wasn’t going to die and then he did.Spacedaisy wrote: ↑Mon Jun 25, 2018 3:38 pm Scotty why Epi? I don’t think he is bad, I’m willing to listen to why you might but I really really would like you and Juliet’s and I to find someone we can agree on today.
Colin, did you get your vote doubled? If so, where are you planning on putting them?
Epi, my problem with Kykeis he spent more time apparently defending and helping a 3P than he did scum hunting. And I still think he trusted me very easily at the beginning of the game. But much like lapluie, with him it’s less what he did wrong and more what he didn’t do much at all.
Was Mac strongarmed? Did Epi actually protect him? He never said it, only implied it.
I could very well vote lap or Kyle. As I said much earlier- nutella had BTSC with nijuu in GOC and the former was bad while nijuu was not, so an indie BTSC with mafia doesn’t seem unlikely as any other.
Lap I got nothing. Read her as town early but she’s just not here.
But someone is sending in kills, so I’d err on the side of lynching someone active for now

So did Kyle and Turnip Head confirm they had btsc? Or we know for sure some other way?Epignosis wrote: ↑Mon Jun 25, 2018 3:24 pm Kylemii inhabits a neutral zone for me, because he asks a lot of neutral questions and usually ends up finding the answer himself. I'm trying to go over how an evil Kylemii could use his BTSC with Turnip Head to his advantage, and I'm coming up short, but even then Kylemii has never struck me as a terribly manipulative sort.
I would vote Kylemii in hopes of getting lucky (which is what I've basically been doing this whole time), but there's been anything that makes me want to vote for him.

Oh nooooo Mac! I hate that you are gone and I second Daisy's request that someone bring you back. I need to read through Mac's posts to see if I can determine why he was picked for the kill unless the rest of you guys know the reason already.
I will be at work today in a little while until this afternoon and then I have therapy so I'll be back in the thread later this afternoon.

Re: Retrocausality Mafia - Night 3: Enter the domain of Chronos
Ok, I haven't finished reading through Golden's ISO yet but there are a few things I can say at this point.
First, I have now been briefed and had the benefit of reading most of Golden's thread and some of the posts he was commenting on and I can say I absolutely see Scotty, Daisy, and Mac as civ.
Second, I am not sure I concur with his list of baddies, I will have to put in more effort (i.e., read sig, Luna, Epi, lapluie) before I can give you an opinion there.
Third, I have no intention of pursuing the argument with Epi and to an extent Mac about voting with people I see as civ in a block. Golden was passionate about that but I think it started because as he said he really didn't have time to coordinate/convince the other three of his opinion. Me personally, I have no interest in the argument and hope we can resolve any bad feelings that may have arisen.
Fourth, I am no Golden. I am not the savvy player he is and tend to be less confident in my reads. He appears to have been quite a force in the thread, very dynamic and charismatic. I have a much quieter affect so I hope we don't lose too much momentum as a town because of my personality difference.
Ok that's all I have to say for now, back to reading.

epignosis, scotty, and mac are oops all doctors
scotty and spacedaisy and I think someone else are all town if you have a town role card, if you don't then who knows i guess
turnip head and i are mixmasons and he's claimed an indie with a predict 2 elections win condition, it's like this whole thing. we'll hopefully resolve it tonight.
I am the christmas time ghost warlock played by, Michael Caine.
colin says he's a guy who gets an extra vote when he predicts night votes
sig and luna wree hopefully mafia but maybe they weren't and we're fucked but hopefully they were and we're doing fine but who knows
those are the main points.
What is a mixmason? And Kyle have you said what the Christmas time ghost does?
Also Kyle I don't quite get the meaning of this sentence:
"scotty and spacedaisy and I think someone else are all town if you have a town role card, if you don't then who knows I guess"
You think someone else are all town? who? Or is there a word or two missing from the sentence?

Re: Retrocausality Mafia - Night 3: Enter the domain of Chronos
OOOOOh very interesting. Two people claiming the same role in addition to what I've picked up reading Golden that two people are also claiming doctor. I'll have to think about this though my gut reaction is let's test his veracity. What are the downsides of this alternative? If it's not true I think I would assume he was bad and vote for him for lynch. Did he guess Scotty for tonight 'cause looks like he's gonna win unless theres a last minute changeover. I'll ponder this situation while in the pool.ColinIsCool wrote: ↑Sun Jun 24, 2018 1:14 pm Turnip Head has claimed to be an indie with a wincon of correctly predicting 2 night elections, at which point he will leave the game victorious while the rest of us compete to join him.
I’m skeptical because my role as a town election predictor just gives me an extra vote, so I feel my role reward is mechanically incompatible with his. Most other people have reacted ranging from “TH’s story is so weird that he can’t be lying” to “Let’s just give him what he wants and test his veracity that way” to “IDGAF.” I’ll leave you to come to your own conclusion

I'm convinced by just the mission to read 12 pages that I probably won't get through all 61, at least not today.

Re: Retrocausality Mafia - Night 3: Enter the domain of Chronos
So the poll doesn't seem to have a time. Looks like Golden already voted so I guess I don't need to worry about it but when does night end? Anybody know?

I'll ask the question and see if I get an answer.Spacedaisy wrote: ↑Sun Jun 24, 2018 12:22 pm This sets us back if he didn’t get to communicate why he trusted me. Meh.

No, though I have some very limited info from speed which frankly doesn't help me much (not your fault speed).Spacedaisy wrote: ↑Sun Jun 24, 2018 12:16 pm Was Golden able to leave you his knowledge before he replaced out @juliets ?

Re: Retrocausality Mafia - Night 3: Enter the domain of Chronos
Thanks Colin for the info. I will read as much of the thread as possible. I just dipped my toes in a couple of places and there seems like there are a lot of things going on that I need background on. I'll keep up with actions going forward as well and try to contribute. I normally ask a lot of questions to probe people but this game I'm likely to ask even more questions since I'm not fully informed. Please forgive me in advance for things I ask which have already been covered.

Re: Retrocausality Mafia - Night 3: Enter the domain of Chronos
Hi everyone! I started out reading this game, then got confused and started playing another game so I dropped reading this one. Big mistake. I'll read the rules and the host posts and then what would you suggest? I don't know that I can back read everything - are there things I should know that any of you can share with me? Certain people whose iso's you would suggest I read? Any advice or info would be helpful.
