true but i think the latter has its own place and it's not 5 minutes after the game ended
That's literally the best time to discuss a game's balance.
Because that's the first thing the winner wants to read after a month of fighting for a win. :noble:
Yeah I double triple agree with this and it's not because I'm a winner (I mean I got killed too early to really contribute to the win). If it were me and I had a problem with the balance of a game and my objective was to give feedback to the host so they could improve in their next game I would give them the feedback privately. Why call out the host and winners publicly, what is the objective there?

That was amazing luck for me. I had the role I had and I landed on a square with a dead body on it right out of the gate. Since TH was a baddie I might not have bothered to see who targeted him... but he flipped Seemer. Kyle and I figured that either he really was the Trickster, or his killer was. Either way we would put the Trickster and his chaos to rest if we killed his killer. That was why whenever anyone brought up the possibility of a Seemer, I squashed it hard. No good could come to the town from that sort of speculation. So I checked to see who targeted him.

And the only person who targeted him was you.

Kyle and I lucked out having complimentary powers, we could actually prove our roles to each other, since DDL teleported to the square next to us mid day, and we were able to confirm for each other.

And win or lose, I will always come out for LC/BR games.
Oh wow that's awesome. It makes me feel better that you knew I targeted him. Good job!

Basically with the town leaders/high speed civs we need this strategy if they keep leading us wrong we need them gone. This is true fpr epi, mac, and sloonie. Since rhe longer they're alive and the more mislynches they led the more likely it is they're mafia
Wtf we have 30 people and I'm assuming something like 12-14 are civ, lynching 2 civs the first 2 days is always the most likely outcome.

Also I'm still reading but I don't see sloonei driving a wilgy train at all so far. Mac correctly called the wilgy lynch as Garbo, iirc Epi wasn't a fan either.
EBWOP 12-14 aren't civ
Haha I was looking at that 12-14 number and thinking he thinks we've only got 12-14 civs? How could that be?

Tranq thank you for your reply. I tend to think you're not lying because you're identifying your position on the map with the Magic Mirror thingy and there could be someone that knows what square you are on and can check to see if there really is a mirror there and what kind of info it gives. In other words, if it was a lie it was a risky lie.

Lunalee, in all fairness to you it has occurred to me that you haven't played one of these Long Rock games and my skepticism comes from years of playing them and knowing that information is often not what it seems.

S~V~S wrote: Thu Dec 13, 2018 6:59 am To be more explicit re Tranq, I would be amazed if baddie Tranq would say such a dumb thing in seriousness, joke or not. He is insanely careful. I don't recall ever seeing bad Tranq lynched. Maybe @juliets would have a better idea of that, and I am sure he will correct me if I am wrong there.

I am never comfortable in a game until certain people slip into place. That remark went far towards making me feel better about Tranq, but not good enough to greenlight him.
I concur that Tranq is insanely careful and I don't remember seeing a Tranq baddie lynch either. But I'm still somewhat shocked at his exclamation in the middle of EOD that Wilgy was bad when in reality he wasn't. (btw, RIP DrWilgy, thank you for answering my call to play with us). So I've got a question for Tranq this morning: why did you think Wilgy was bad? Can you share that or no? What do you think about the fact he flipped good?

As for INH, I couldn't help but laugh when I came to his posts. Chaos player is the perfect description for him. I don't know what to think right now about his pronouncements, I'll have to re-read them. He couldn't possibly have that much info on people though could he? We're only on N2 right now. Also, his sudden appearance after we were thinking he was silenced is a little disconcerting. I also need to re-look at his drunk post because I didn't see the claim on the face of it the first time I read it.

This Luna wagon is bizarre. I don't get why her being sure about something makes her bad.

I can't believe people are lynching Wilgy again. Then again I can believe it. Not gonna oppose it cuz it's fucking Wilgy. But I prefer Quin.

I usually believe claims because it's hard to fake this stuff, so sprityo is probably legit. The one I'm not sure if I should trust is the lady in the woods. Not feeling the switch to sabie right now, I think I wanna discuss about it longer.

I'm out, if you guys want me to respond to something specific you have 10 minutes to tag me. And don't tag me to ask me to ISO someone.
DDL I don't think there is a Luna wagon. She's only got one vote. I'm most likely to stay where I am and just move her to yellow on the list in my head. My issue is her lack of questioning what the info meant.

I am unsure about Luna now after her response to the sprityo info. I do not question that sprityo is giving us information that he got. What I do question is what the info means. sabie? someone she was next to? something I haven't though of? I just don't see how a smart woman as Luna jumps to the conclusion it's sable so quickly. So I'm torn at the moment as to whether that's enough to knock my opinion down to orange or red or just yellow. I'm watching TV at the moment but I'll be around. I WILL NOT be here at EOD though, I will be asleep.

Dragon D. Luffy I want to quote a part of your long post on the 5. This is from your Quin summary:

A lot of posts are good stuff. He is hunting. I don't feel him as civ that much after his ISO though. Something about him feels... thuggish I guess. He's making cases but not commiting on them, too. I don't know, Quin is always sarcastic, but when he's a civ there is this feeling of a poor kid who is desperate because people are wanting things from him and he's super lost, so he's trying his best. Here he seems a bit more arrogant, more overconfident.

I felt this was the way Quin was in Hogwarts - confident almost to arrogance. Do you feel like he was different in that game than he is here?

Re: Mafia: A World Asunder - GAME THREAD [Day 2]

I just thought of something. Where is INH? Hasn't been here in a couple of days. I hate to even bring his name up because we are juggling so many already but I didn't like his letting someone else choose his vote last go around and since then he's not around.

Ok I keep distracting myself from reading luna so I'm going back to that.

I don't like when people try to make big deals out of anyone's day 1 vote, because frankly, to me they ALL are weak votes. Why call one specific one out?
because if you want someone lynched you need to make a case on them. that is how mafia works.

There's a quick flourish from Quin against timmer, but then it's completely dropped and literally forgotten as the day rolls on and better options come up. I think if this is Genuquin, he maintains at least a light grasp on his timmer vote instead of having it dissolve completely.
Sloonei, I had exactly the opposite reaction to Quin's blow off of his timmer vote. It seems like if he were bad he would have kept a grasp of it so he could change votes more smoothly. I just don't see a baddie saying "I forgot why I'm voting for x". That doesn't mean I liked his timmer vote. I'm trying hard to see the bad Quin you're seeing but not doing it very well.
I could see his admission of forgetfulness as an attempt to look casual. By playing so loose with his suspects, he looks like he has nothing to hide. Or something.
Ok I see your point.

Luna, Kyle, DDL, Quin, G-man.

One of them killed nutella.
What's your plan if we lynch one of these 5 and they're civ?

Let's say we lynch Luna today and she's good.
Day 3 we go "oh it's one out of these 4 now, those are even better odds", we lynch Kyle and he's good.
Day 4 we lynch DDL and he's good.
Day 5 we lynch Quin and he's good.
Day 6 we lynch G-Man and he's either bad (you got good info) or not (your info was incorrect, or you lied and made us waste 5 lynches)

We could waste up to 4 lynches if the info is right, 5 if it's wrong.
Nobody has suggested that we ignore the rest of the game and spam lynches into these 5. Sloonei's just giving us more cards to play with.

Feel like you're twisting this into an accusion, almost.
And infodumping is awesome. #cpi4lyfe
Agreeing a lot with speedchuck today. Unfortunately most of it is metagame stuff but hey. This is one point of agreement that isn't.

Tranq and LoRab are on my list of teammates to the scum of the Sloonei 5, assuming there is one (which I think is a solid assumption for the time being).
Ok I like some of the things you've been saying this game so I have to add this to my reasons to re-look at Tranq. I seem to have the opposite read of a number of people.

Regarding your Lorab suspicion, is it all her talk of mechanics or something else?

Both Tranq and Lorab are part of the old school I began my mafia career with (Tranq was bad with me in my first mafia game) so I don't know if I've got blinders on or my read is in a way better because I know their old school ways of playing.

Enrique: Mostly goof posts. Not really hunting or grinding. Did that whole "Angle Shooting" thing earlier which is whatever.

Lunalee: After a fluffy, lighthearted start, Here she suspects people for jumping onto Epi's DDL "case". Jumps up Colin's ass when Colin suspects Sloonei here. Dunks on nutella's vote reasoning RE: Jack here. Has a "good reason" to vote Colin since he jumped on DDL so early. This might have been a joke on Mac's part but the response seemed a little "nervous" to me. Votes Wilgy cuz she figures Wolbre is town. Without knowing exactly where the votes were at, it could be she was covering her ass and trying to look civ AF by voting the off-wagon, but IIRC her vote pushed Wilgy further into contention with Wolbre, so looks good. Here she says she "likes to think" the Wilgy wagon is good. She was on the Wilgy wagon, and just got done talking with a few people about how there are 2 mafia teams lol. Here she advocates Occam's Razor RE: TH's flip. http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 02311]Here She sticks to her guns RE: Colin, and poo-poo's the G-Man train. Here She follows that up with "reason to believe" G-Man is not guilty. Anyway, something's up with Luna. She's still a Yellow for me.

Tranq: Defends DDL then Here he defends Sloonei, wants to hear more from G-Man. When asked to give his suspects here instead he says there are people he'd rather not vote for, then tosses Doc in the mix as a possible vote. After tossing out some more names of people he trusts/won't vote, (Epignosis, Me) Tranq Defaults to Wilgy. Follows that with Another Wilgy vote today, saying he doesn't like that Wilgy popped in and then fucked off at will, and that TH might have soft-defended Wilgy. Overall, I don't like Tranq's D1 forced ignorance of the poll, and when pressed for suspects he instead offers people he won't vote for, which indicates to me he's scared to ruffle any feathers. Doc is an easy option, even if it is backed up by Doc's behavior and TH maybe defending him.

Doc: Fucked off all D1 until he was in danger, then he showed up and now he's fucked off again. He's demonstrated that he's able to play, and that he jumped into the thread at EOD when he was in danger of being lynched demonstrates to me that he's either paying attention himself or has people paying attention for him.

---

I'd rank the Rainbow 4 in order of baddieness as such:

Doc
Tranq
Luna
Enrique
I know its not "I have reason to believe" or "I kissed an old forest witch on the mouth" but anybody got anything to say RE: This?
DH, I do agree with your Doc assessment. I said early in the day today he was a vote possibility for me but then there is this issue of the 5, one of which killed nutella, so I've been concentrating on them. If I just can't find another member of the 5 I want to vote for I could vote for him.

Tranq seems like the old Tranq I remember - pretty much to the point - and my thought right now is that he is not caught up with some of the new things we are doing now, for example, his stance against info dumping and outting one's role. I liked the post where he asked where we are going with this gang of 5 in that he questioned something that we've kind of accepted. I have had Tranq fool me big in the past though so I have to consider that maybe you are better at reading him.

Luna I'm going to re-read next. There is a lot going on with her so I will address your post about her after I re-read her.

Enrique - I'm not seeing a lot out of Enrique at this point. Maybe he is busy or maybe he's purposely not around. I'll take another look at him but I'm not having good feelings about him at this time. Maybe I will understand why he is your least bad rank when I look at his posts.

This post actually changes my mind on G-Man more than Luna’s vouching does. Why does a scum G-Man go in the thread to taunt the town with a mechanical quirk benefitting his team? Because taunting is fun, I gues, but this looks more like worldbuilding than anything.

G-Man, you said you suspected me after reading me - why? I would like specifics and not something general. Whatever your reasons were are they still present currently? And why didn't you try to address me on whatever issues you found? And the vote - Sloonei has asked these questions but I will ask them again - why did you say you were voting me and then vote for Sloonei? What happened there? Why didn't you share your thinking and if you couldn't before the vote why haven't you shared it since?
Of the five people I ISO’d Day 1, your’s seemed most plausible to be manufactured. Having read through the thread in full, I can still see it that way but I’m casting a wider net now and going back to ISO everyone.

My intent was to make an imperfect vote for you Day 1 but then I saw Sloonei taking the notion way too far. I wish I had been able to look through more ISOs for blenders but I ran out of time. Sloonei got my vote because he went from pushy to accommodating to cordial to panicky to desperate all in one day. That’s exhausting to read through and it looked lame in the moment.

I didn’t want to start a bona fide train on you. I just wanted to find a place to dump a Day 1 vote based on partial reads and imperfect understanding. Voting for you after Sloonei would have made you a train. I think my vote for Sloonei tied him with Wilgy at the time, which added to the cheeky fun of voting without posting.

Why aren’t I sharing more often? Because I’m tired most of the time, busy at home, stressed out at work, and fighting like heck to deny the impulse to let this game take over my life. I also don’t like answering lots of little questions in this sea of yip-yip-yip. I’m going to move forward because I choose not to explain the past too much. It slows me down too much. I remember pissing off MP a few times doing this sort of thing.

Onward.
G, I guess I don't understand what you mean by my posts seemed "manufactured". And I don't understand what you're using as a baseline from which to judge they are "manufactured". I'm not going to harp on this though unless you come back to suspecting me for these same reasons.

I do understand what you're saying about Sloonei, his behavior struck me the same way though it seems that is normal for him. I just haven't played enough with him to have known that to be a fact.

And I feel for you re: tired most of the time, busy, stressed. I know you would probably like to be on here more often rather than dealing with the issues at work.

I will mull over what you've had to say here. If I change my vote it will likely be to wilgy or sprityo.
