Sorry, I missed your question. There’s no question mark, but Sabie said she wonders why Jack and Ultra followed Sprityo. The answer is in the early part of the game thread. But, I’m guessing she wasn’t really wondering.

Nutella is nervous. She’s flitting between suspects too much and practically seeking approval. Not seeing town Nutella here

Epig leads. When he isn’t town, his leading goes everywhere. He either puts too many scenarios in the thread, or he fixates, or both.

Daisy is too absent for my comfort. I know she’s busy, but this is unlike her.
DDL played a part in the lynchfest yesterday that seemed tailor made for a team. The people who switched their votes to me at the last minute were just waiting on him, or that’s how it seemed to me. Considering he’s been so busy, it’s just miraculous he was there at just the right moment, with just the right suggestion. Too miraculous.

Guys, I have been reading along and getting an education tonight. Yes, I’ve learned that things have changed a lot.
The school I come from hates to put a vote on townies, and it’s very hard to intuit people early in a game. I had a small ping on Lux because of a possible slip. When other people started taking that slip seriously, I Tried to reread Lux to make sure she was the best way to go.
She wasn’t defending herself strongly. She wasn’t trying to make cases on anyone. I asked myself why. My answer was an either/or. She was a scared mafia, or she was a clueless civ. I put my thoughts in the thread, hoping for some input. People instead pounced on it. I tried to clear it up, I thought using words like maybe and possible, would have been read, but apparently those words didn’t register. I made it clear enough that she was a ping, but I wanted to feel more sure.

I can’t make it any clearer because new mafia apparently goes by a mafia book of rules, and putting your thoughts in the thread must be frowned upon.
If this makes me bad, then just lynch me for heavens sakes. I’d rather be lynched than nk’d

And yes, my yuck post was pure frustration. I stayed in the thread after that post and watched the scoreboard. At two minutes before eod, Cooler and myself were the only ones with four votes. I switched, and then took a break from the thread. I have suspicions of a few players but I’ll wait until tomorrow to post about them. Also lots of linki will read later.

There is only one player I have solidly as town. That is Sabie. Juliets is close. Everyone else is neutral to pingy.

That said, I was wary of Dragomir earlier in the game, but I reversed my opinion of him somewhat. He is also just neutral now.
More than likely, my vote will go on Lux, because I think she could have tried harder to defend and do something town related than she did.
But you do things your way and I’ll do things my way.

I do not understand the thought process behind the enlarged.

I said several times that her weak defense might be because she is town. Might. I said that I would vote her if I didn’t see some sign of a defense. Maybe I’m just not clear enough, but I’ve tried to clear it up throughout the day. I’m too tired for this and getting frustrated over it. I’m stepping away.

So, to my way of thinking, why didn’t she suspect others? Why wasn’t she trying to bring up anyone else that she thought was bad. The only answer I have for that is the ones I listed before. Possibly town and had no real suspicion on anyone. Or possibly bad, and trying not to slip again. I posted about it, hoped for some agrees or disagrees.

But posting a lot can still be someone bad, just with balls. You said that yourself, in other words, in one of your posts with someone else. Still, so far, I’m not seeing any reason to say you’re bad, so you’re neutral, whatever you young people call it.

Talk to me about that middle paragraph. What exactly did Lux do, and why is “not pointing fingers” a good look?

She sounded like someone who wanted to save herself, but didn’t have any real suspicions to try and build a case on someone.
Yes, I know that could have been laziness. But I don’t know her or what she is like as a player.
That was just my first impression on reading through her weak defense. Do you see it differently? What other reasons would she have for not trying to bring up suspicions of others that might save her?

Would she have looked worse for trying to build a suspicion out of any component of her self-defense?

Are you asking me if she would have looked worse if she ‘no you’d’? That is possible, but not if she backed up her no u with a decent reason. Basically, make a post listing reasons why she thinks someone could be bad, so other people could decide whether it sounded like legit scumhunting or not.
The only reasons I can see are
she’s a clueless civ
She’s a lazy civ/Indi/maf who isn’t invested in the game
Or she’s is a scared Indi/maf.

Again, I don’t know her style, or meta, whatever it’s being called now. Just on face value, one read through, I thought possible town. Please give me your view, does her behavior in defensegate seem evil?

I saw a glimpse of confident Nutella, so maybe I’m concentrating too hard on players I’m familiar with, instead of trying to get a grip on players I don’t know. I’ll backburner her for now.

The TMI comments mentioned above are something I will reread tonight. I have forgotten much of it, but it occurred to me that because of certain roles in this game, there is a possibility of TMI. But I don’t know the context of the tmi posts until I get time to read later.

In the last two games, Nutella had confidence. The kind that seems like normal Nutella, who will say anything, whether you like it or not. Also, the kind of confidence that only a civ has. For reference, Gossip Girl and Steely Dan mafia

I’m not seeing it here. She’s not bold, rude, in your face, or any of the normal Nutella. I can’t fault her for not picking people’s posts apart and challenging them, because really, the posting hasn’t been especially suspicious, but I think she would be challenging more if she were civ. She seems like she’s holding back. That’s the best way I can explain it. That is going by old skool ‘feels’ and probably not helpful to newer mafia players.
I wouldn’t swear I’m right, but it’s enough that she’s on my watchlist.

I’m going to start with talking about the old school set-up. No, we can’t claim, we can’t info dump. But we can do the use-to-be obligatory town statement.

There are no visible lie detectors in the roles, but we do have Harrison. He has a secret, which could be a lie detector. He also sends out inventions to players, maybe one of the inventions is a polygraph machine. Only Harrison would know this for certain, but I’m not going to overlook the possibility. So this is my townie statement. I am town.

People are not obligated to do this. But since we goin old school here, I thought maybe some of the players who haven’t played a game like this, might be interested in knowing it used to be a thing.

I’m leaving for awhile, but when I get back, I’ll discuss a few pings.

That way I can see who responds to them, and whether any of the responses make me feel like ‘oh, ok. That makes sense’ or ‘ok, possible teammate’. I keep scribble notes, then at some point, I get my notes in order, and try to make some deductions. That is what I’m going to try to work on tomorrow afternoon, go back and reread a few people. I think Creature said something off as well, but I can’t remember specifics yet.

I accepted it, wasn’t much to think about. He said someone had asked a question about Ultra, so he posted some quotes as an answer. That explained it.

I don’t have a clue what he is. I didn’t feel all that great about him earlier, but it’s way too soon for me to label anyone. What is your opinion of him, or do you have one yet?

After noting that the game was a no claim game, Ultra started working on a way to claim without openly claiming. I wondered whether MM was trying to bring attention to that. I looked back through other posts, but I couldn’t find one that asked MM a question about Ultra, so I asked why he posted that.

@Matahari do you have any first impressions on players so far? What's your typical approach to a game? Which players are you already familiar with here?

I don’t have any solid impressions on players so far. I don’t know a few of the players at all, and I know most players who are old school here. My typical approach is to read along, try to form opinions about how people interact with each other, ask questions if I don’t understand what people are trying to say, and I rarely post a ton. It usually take two to three days in old school games before I get solid feels on a player.
