And thanks to everyone who even watched a portion of one lecture video in this game and to those who diligently attempted those quizzes. This theme was kind of meant to be a dumb joke, and I threw it into the queue on a whim. I did not anticipate this silly thing to attract so many friends from the broader Mafia community, and when it did I kind of straightened my tie and decided to take my own game a little more seriously.![]()

So from that standpoint I guess I don't care, but I am very much otherwise invested in this game outcome and I'd really really really really like to talk to people about this tomorrow if it's relevant because I don't get it all.

I don't really care who dies of the two I guess, just had one minor good vibe on one KZA post and nothing with Gavial, but they're both not really helping move the game along. It sucks that we have to worry about this in this game.

I like this post mildly. Otherwise I got nothing from KZA I think.KZA wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 9:30 pmVulgard wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 4:38 am c4, dya and KZA are in the "no impressions made" club and I would like them to play the game. dya and KZA just haven't talked about the game much yet. Dya got offended based on a single accusation if I read that correctly, and KZA 5-posted and dipped.sorry to bring up old stuff, I've been working a lot and not really postingVulgard wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 8:12 am I could say similar things about KZA, for that matter. Except KZA's ISO is even worse. Not only does it have fewer posts, but its only attempt at engagement is a thin townread on SPF. Also, bows out of reading Gavial instead of even trying. Terrible look so far. The point about "looking out of touch with the thread" also applies here. Dizzy just above me is open about the fact they won't engage with the game (not sure how to read that at the moment). KZA here is low-efforting and being quiet about it.
Stupid read, but KZA and Dizzy aren't W/W based on that. I doubt they would both do this as wolves, and in such a different manner, too. If they wanted to meme and become the slankwolf collective, they'd either both do it like Dizzy or both like KZA. I understand if people consider this read stupid, though.
wanna walk me through this 0-100? I don't really see how you made this progression when I had 0 posts between those 2
I don't exactly know why he's being voted, I guess I need to continue reading, or can someone summarize it super quickly for me? I'm assuming it's just a KZA and Gavial are the dual "can't tell if they're town" votes, like someone who is voting KZA tell me why that's better than Gavial I guess is what I'm wondering.

I mean they talk to people and post lists and stuff but it's never for a purpose other than itself. I don't think I'm making this argument clear but it's like, posting reasonable posts but not caring about the outcome, they are fine on an individual level but taken as a whole you don't feel they care about ''''solving the game''' and instead it's just looking like they've given thought to stuff
I don't understand why you don't feel like I care about solving, I feel like I've been trying to do that. Like what do you mean a purpose other than itself?

"there is no universe in which that is a genuine thought" is not exactly uh inviting any sort of discourse, so I'm just going to ignore that sentiment and kindly request that you and others refrain from such statements.
I'm not sure how to answer your question briefly, I think my progression on those five players is traceable enough if you look at my first reads list and accompanied posts in between? I guess I would suggest, try glancing through my ISO and then let me know if you still don't understand and I'll try to explain in greater detail.

I don't think so, maybe it was more visible because I had it alphabetical last time and my POE shrunk. Either way, it can be a typical tendency of mine when I'm town, especially in the early game, to naturally gravitate towards working more with and/or town reading players who agree with me, and I suppose a portion of that is inherent agreement with the only bit of TMI that I have (my own alignment). I wouldn't say that's the main reason for either of your placements, although I spoke to how I wasn't sure if I bought Arete's treatment of me in the first reads list post, and that still stands.Vulgard wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 1:27 pm @Tangrowth There's one thing I've just noticed about your updated readlist. Asking more about Arete than I'm asking about myself, but curious about both. Didn't notice other townreads moving down.
Your falling was sort of like... like Zack, I was grouping both of you together in a sort of like "these people felt pretty solid to me when composing first reads list post-catch up" and post-second catch up I felt that less with each of you, um I'm not entirely sure how much of that particularly in your case was due to not giving you enough attention either, so that's entirely plausible and I wouldn't mean to say like "hey work with me" and get a bit snippy about it and then make no effort to do so and move you down myself, but that may have been more of a factor than I would have liked, lol. This is a lot of words to say your solving stood out to me more during first reads list compilation than the second time around.
I hope this makes sense, let me know.

I don't have time to elaborate much, unfortunately, but I'd be happy to engage with anyone about reads upon my return... whenever that'll be. I'm hoping an hour before EoD at the absolute latest but I just don't know. There's a chance I miss it, but I'd really hate to do that.
I ranked players within tiers as thoughtfully as I could with limited time. Some words off the top of my head... just going to trust spf right now, we're mindmelding, she seems legit. dya feels right to me, I want to see what they can do going forward. I need to actually interact with Dizzy at some point to make sure. sunbae I still have some misgivings on but I think he looked a lot better after I got to witness his gears turning in real time. Alison is the one I'm most torn on but for some reason I just believe her.
The reads below that I'm having a lot more trouble sorting. I'm seeing what I want to see with Zack, but I'm increasingly concerned that... it's by the numbers or something? I still think he's probably town but I couldn't keep him up there for some reason... really running out of time, gotta stop here I guess.

Alison
Upper POE - light town

I agree with this take.sunbae wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 3:08 am My hottest take after those pages is that Dya/Alison is v/v. I think Dya truly believes that Alison is a wolf for the way she's handled Gav and the other game. I also believe that Alison strongly believes that Gav is town. And these two thoughts are clashing past each other. I also think I entirely follow Dya's reasoning for pressing Alison over Gav and it's not some sinister "parters with Gav" thing where she's calling Gav a wolf but pushing Alison first. I think Dya is pushing Alison first because she thinks regardless of Gav's role, Alison is full of it here (either as teammates defending or as a wolf with tmi) and is more likely to flip W.
I feel ... medium ... confident about it

I don't feel like sunbae is interested in these reads and just wanted to toss them out and move on. Compare this to their SPF read which they went in depth to and went back and forth with SPF about. I also don't really agree with the basis of the reads, insofar as I don't really get the impression sunbae's playstyle is similar enough to Dizzy's to really draw direct comparisons between their town entrances like that, and I definitely don't agree with the shade on Marl because I think Marl has been pretty townie and those posts aren't reflective of his scum play at all.
The other thing that bothers me about sunbae was their willingness to just let go of something they found townie about me once other people started scumreading me. If it was a gut or meta read, I could see it, but they had a fairly convoluted thought process/logic behind why they townread me, and they just went "oh well, everyone else hates her, I guess I'll throw that logic away".
sunbae isn't egregiously wolfy, but I've been pinged by at least a couple of their takes and I think they deserve more scrutiny.

Re: PSY 2310 - Cognitive Psychology [DAY 1]
I’m going to move to Arete vote as I think I feel a bit better about Hally in my gut after catching up quickly. I have to be away from thread for real for a solid block now, wish me luck with more grading of the words and numbers

You’re so much more than meh as a person, and your efforts in this game are appreciated.Hally wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 9:19 pm fwiw i think the general consensus that i’m meh at best and wolfy at worst is a fair assessment of my play so far and that v reading at this point would be kind of absurd
if anything i’m more sketched out by alison wanting to v read me for “good tone” and i don’t really believe she believes that

Omg not at all! We just see things differently often and I think it’s cool.Alison wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 8:44 pmis this a polite way of saying my reads are usually badTangrowth wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 12:46 amThank you!
(More generally, to you or anyone) in the future thank you for answering any of my questions, I may not get around to expressing it due to the post cap.
As for the Alison thought, I don’t find it an unbelievable thing for Alison to genuinely think. She sometimes has some pretty strongly delivered takes that struck me as... notable (for lack of a better term) in a similar way.

Re: PSY 2310 - Cognitive Psychology [DAY 1]
That would be awesome! I have no idea what your time zone is (I’m on phone), um, maybe we can regroup with new reads lists either in like a handful of hours or in like 15 or so, or we can not real-time and just say some things back and forth, anything works really. Let me look again after I catch back up and see what names are the most notable or urgent.

The fact that this is a delayed response makes me feel even better, but if you’re messing with me then lol.Dyslexicon wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 8:02 pm Oh, that's right! @Tangrowth If you are town this will be our first game as the same alignment!!! Re: PSY 2310 - Cognitive Psychology [DAY 1]
Sorry, that is probably confusing, I was showing support for the pressure in spite of that being the case. I'd probably rather yeet Arete or Gavial still, I'll reassess more later when I can.

Re: PSY 2310 - Cognitive Psychology [DAY 1]
Makes sense, thanks Amy, I'll take that under consideration. I really need to pull myself away from the thread now ahhhhh. I guess it leaves me with... 43 posts? Okay, that leaves me 1 post to say something of importance while multitasking heavily if inclined, so then I can have 42 for my more attentive stages of the game tonight and/or tomorrow morning.

Re: PSY 2310 - Cognitive Psychology [DAY 1]
Also, I love that the back and forth between sunbae and spf was about me.
As for how I feel about each of them as a result, I think it was actually helpful for getting me somewhere on sunbae, as I got to witness his gears turning in real time. I'm not sure it moved me much on spf but she was already a light town read.
