Oh, I'm here sweetcheeks, much to your consternation, since I will likely be voting for you.Mars wrote:This is a busy time of year for me, sorry I'm not around much.
As for my suspicions, Chronos, I do think it's odd how you seem to be calling everyone out, almost like you're just trying to see what will stick. I also am not sure what to think of Apollo and Phoenix, they seem to be locked onto each other. I'm feeling better about Apollo than Phoenix though. Helios I'm probably leaning the most civ on, he comes across as sincere.
Also, Electra has been pretty quiet lately. Wasn't she a fairly big point of discussion a couple days ago? Now she's just kind of gone.

Re: AMERICAN GODS~Day 8
I am mystified that the shrouded one has gone eight entire Days evading any form of meaningful scrutiny. Impressive.
About half of Vesta's 76 posts are fluff (entertaining fluff, but fluff still).
Day 1: Hermes
Day 2: Artemis
Day 3: Artemis
Day 4: Missed
Day 5: Phoenix
Day 6: Phoenix
Day 7: Missed
A terrible week, wouldn't you say?
Poor perception as well, at times:
Oh wait- Vesta figured out this principle the same day:
Going to post this now to give people time to reflect on what it could mean.

With no Day 1 Electra vote, how could Hinzlemann have made an attempt on Night 1?Vesta wrote: Very useful. 7 Wisconsin voters, one now dead, leaving 6 Wisconsin voters. Therefore it is no longer 1 in 7 odds. For each of us Wissies we know our own roles, so 1 in 5 odds. Of those on the list, Electra is not eligible for a vote today, leaving 4 options for today.
My options would be:
Persephone
Apollo
Athena
Prometheus
Irregardless of the Wisconsin vote, Prometheus stood out to me for his Day 1 defense of it doesn't matter who dies. However, since Hermes flipped civ that gives me pause. Persephone made a good point about Athena vs. Artemis switching focus away from Wisconsin voters. Of the 4 listed, I personally have the most suspicions of Athena and Prom-boy. My vote will be going to one of these two depending on what happens in thread.
This could all be a huge waste of time though if Hinzelman really is Electra.
Oh wait- Vesta figured out this principle the same day:
Indeed, much of Vesta's focus seems to be on tracking down Hinzlemann. Even after Hercules was lynched, there still seems to be a focus on the serial killer. And Vesta still spoke as though I could be it.Vesta wrote: Athena could not be Hinzelman if she didn't vote, but have any of his kills gone through?
Another thing that bothers me in retrospect:Vesta wrote:For possible last new gods I can't decide if a Herc teammate would vote to save or throw him to the wolves. If they had already lost a teammate than it might be worth it to try and save him, which makes me look at Phoenix's vote particularly because he tied in with Zeus. However if they gave up on him then Ceres or Zeus as the last Herc voters might be possible. Chronos and Mars are other options if they wanted to stop the tide against Herc, but I think that is less likely. Since Zeus was an early suspecter of Herc, it's more likely that Phoenix is the possible candidate for the last new god.
At quick count looks like Electra, Helios, and Poseidon missed the last vote.
(Herc too, but we know who he turned out to be)
Haven't heard anything from Electra really, have we? She was also a Wisconsin voter if I remember, but that option may have not done anything for Hinzie if WJ is right. If not, then highly possible as an inactive spook too. As of right now I am voting Electra as place holder since we can change votes.
I want to look at low posters next as well.
Votes Electra
Now knowing who Eros was, he clearly had people he trusted.Vesta wrote:Eros wrote:In other words, Vesta, you and I are at the same stage.Vesta wrote: I have a hard time believing that Eros has no candidates. I find I suspect everyone first, then slowly start trusting others, so my list is rather long, but not conclusive at this point, which is really the problem. Who to pick?
Going to post this now to give people time to reflect on what it could mean.

Re: AMERICAN GODS~Day 8
That leads me to examine Ceres. Voted Apollo Day 1. Artemis Day 2. Fortuna Day 3. Athena Day 4. Hercules Day 5 (14th vote of 16). Pandora Day 6. Helios Day 7.
If bad, Ceres either threw a teammate to gain credibility (unlikely at that point) or is on the other team. The only thing that strikes me odd is the Day 3 discussion. Anyway, Artemis and Fortuna were both civilians, which makes Day 3 a tough Day to read.

Athena voted third for Hercules. That does her credit.
I do wonder about this ancient exchange:
I do wonder about this ancient exchange:
Athena wrote:1. It was either civ on civ, or she's a seemer type role. And I can't help but know my own role. I'm sorry if stating that I'm civ is suspicious. I'm not sure I see how it is, but whatever.Ceres wrote:In an attempt to give Athena a chance to defend herself, here are my thoughts:
1. The Artemis episode was extremely confusing. I went back and forth on who was the non-civ in that equation because to me this was too elaborate to be a civ on civ dispute, and at one point I really thought there were two baddies involved. Artemis made a 'slip', which could have been completely plausible at the time, but that is not what made me suspect her, it was her very calm and calculated reply to Persephone's post. Athena on the other hand, has the "I know I'm a civ", "I'm just a civ' rhetoric which to me always sounds like baddies trying to convince themselves that they are civs.
2. Survived a night kill.
3. She has explained why she used the term 'curse' when people were talking about insanification in Arte's case, but I still get the feeling that she knew something the rest of us didn't.
This is the best I have so far, although I have to admit that Fortuna is in a similar situation:
1. 'I know I'm a civ which means that my defense attorney is also a civ.'
2. Managed to survive on day 3.
2. Yes, I did. And I am thankful for having been protected. How is that suspicious?
3. I really don't understand this one, still. In my mafia experience, the term curse is generally used as a posting restriction that a player has. How is that not what was happening? What term would you use for "a posting restriction that is given by another player through their role or by the hosts"? Curse has always been what I've seen used, and so I use that term.
Your reasons don't add up to me being bad. I respect that they make you suspect me, although I don't really see how any of them are suspicious. But, like some others didn't see what I did in Artemis' posts, we all play the game differently. Sometimes, things that are not how we play look suspicious because it's not what we ourselves would do.
linkitis: Again, how is surviving a night kill attempt suspicious? And how does suspecting another player and making a case mean someone is bad?

Not apparent. Blatant.Apollo wrote:The major point against Mars is his apparent defense of Hercules, who flipped bad. Before that, I just had a gut feeling on him.Chronos wrote:I have found Pluto's recent actions questionable. But can you give me a quick recap on Mars?Apollo wrote:Given Eros' earlier insight, I think it would be foolhardy to ignore his last warnings before perishing. It will be between Pluto and Mars. I will do a reread of both tomorrow and make my decision.Chronos wrote:Who are you looking at today, then, Apollo?Apollo wrote:Yeah, you missing the vote yesterday and Hinzelmann failing to kill last night does not look suspicious at all. Not to mention your inexplicable survival (along with Pluto) of yesterday's lynch. I was planning to vote for you today, so you are lucky you are not on the poll.
Mars wrote:I just realized my time setting is an hour off from the real time, so I missed it. I'm sorry, hostesses!
I hadn't been feeling the Fortuna suspicion, I think I would have ended up going with Athena. I'm also not suspicious of Hercules, but really he hasn't given me much to read either way.
Mars wrote:I don't see that there's anything damning about Athena, and actually I thought her defence sounded fairly genuine. But I'm geting progressively more leery of Zeus. His defence of Athena could be genuine, because they're teammates, or because he's trying to establish civvie cred if she gets lynched. I think if Athena is bad, it's as part of a team with Zeus anyway, so I'd rather go for the one who strikes me as more baddie to begin with. *votes Zeus*
P.S. I don't see Herc's behavior as terribly suspicious, and I actually think it's a bit odd that people keep bringing him up each day.

Hmmm... now that I think about it, I have a few questions. What has Eros's opinion been of Apollo for the duration of the game so far?
Also, what's the theory behind why players are being removed from the poll?
And who does everyone think is most bad right now (only one name please, if you had to choose) and why?
Thanks!!!!

Thank you, Sunface!!Apollo wrote:This is from memory, so I may miss a few things.Electra wrote: So Mr. Sunface, what's been going on in this game?
*deep breath*
We've been traveling around the country, killing each other.
Day 1: We lynched Hermes, he was civ. Boo! Eros insists that Poseidon is good.
Night 1: Atlas was NKed, apparently double targeted by the Spookshow and Hinzelmann. This is the last time we saw Hinzelmann.
Day 2: Artemis got the most votes, but Prometheus was lynched. He was civ. Boo!
Night 2: The New Gods tried to kill Athena, but failed.
Day 3: We lynched Artemis, she was civ. Boo! Eros insists that Fortuna is good.
Night 3: The Spookshow killed Persephone
Day 4: We lynched Fortuna. She is civ. Boo! At some point around this time Whiskey Jack tells us that at least one baddie is dead, so we start to question whether all the revealed roles are accurate.
Night 4: The New Gods tried to kill Poseidon but failed.
Day 5: Zeus and Athena start vouching for each other. We lynch Hercules. He was a baddie! Finally!
Night 5: Czernobog kills Poseidon. Eyebrows are raised.
Phoenix has attracted some attention as a possible Hinzelmann candidate. Pandora has recently caught my eye, as well as Eros, as being suspicious. A lot of people have been absentee and reborn. Nobody is really sure of anything. There has been a lot of insanifying/cursing. The hostesses have been doing a great job running a really fun game.
The end.
We can change votes?Eros wrote:That's not to say my vote will stay there.
If so, I'll do the same, just because I know I am sure I won't be around again before the vote is over and I have no idea what's going on yet and I don't want to miss the vote.
