Re: Dr. Who Mafia! - Day 3
I am going to quietly self-vote for today because I'm still lost, it's nearly 1am and I'm very tired, and I missed the last vote but don't want to again. Sorry for how much I've sucked in this game, hopefully who ever replaces me does better.

Re: Dr. Who Mafia! - Day 3
I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask to be replaced. I just can't keep up with this, I'm so busy and every day I get further behind. That is only going to get worse as time goes on so it's best if I drop out and let someone who can be active take over. I did say when I signed up I probably wouldn't have time for this game but I know that if I'd been less busy I really would have enjoyed playing this!

Does anyone else find that you can get so far behind in a game it's practically impossible to get back into it? I've been trying to catch up today but tbh I feel like I've just replaced in or something!

Re: Dr. Who Mafia! - Day 2
I have no problem with him using a randomizer on four options. If that's what someone wants to do, so be it. What I don't get is why he would take it so seriously as to change his vote from what he accidentally chose to what the randomizer said. As you say, an accidental vote is just as random. It's not like anyone would have known and said "Oh Dom voted x when his randomizer clearly told him to vote y. Super baddie move tbh."zeek wrote:I'm not entirely clear on your suspicions of Made, is it because he is unclear about your posts? Like he's trying to force suspicion on you over nothing?
The problems I have with your explanation are:
I don't buy that you used a randomizer for on four options.
Logically, an accidental vote is a random vote.
Obviously, you can't answer these criticisms if what you say is true. I don't know you - maybe you just religiously follow a randomizer, even for small polls, but it is odd.

I hadn't considered that. You do raise a good point. There's no indication that anything bad or good happened as a result of the night poll, yet if you listen to Zeek you'd think the world was going to burn if we didn't choose his option.

Great, I agree 100%, let everyone make their own choice. But that's not how you acted later in the night. Far from it in fact. Your agenda was very clear that we should visit Alzarius. No explanation why. You completely reversed your attitude on the night poll. Here's an example.zeek wrote:Listen guys, I doubt I'll survive the Night so I will detail my thoughts on people today instead of safely waiting for Day 2. But not yet.
You're getting my vote for now.zeek wrote:I am telling you all this is important. You don't have to trust me, you just have to vote for Alzarius. Enrique and Dom are my top suspects.

Should have voted and gone to bed hours ago but kinda glad I didn't because I wouldn't have known what to do then. This whole thing with Juliets looks quite suspicious, she almost seems to suck up to Epi with the whole 'since you're so good at picking out baddies comment'. It also makes it as though he's responsible for her vote and is the one who should be held accountable if she ended up voting for a civ. Not to mention she's basically saying she'll vote where someone else tells her to when there's no reason to really trust anyone that much yet. It just doesn't look good to me so I'm going to *Vote Juliets* and leave for the night.

is a bit of a bold statement. You weren't the only factor in either of those games. Maybe a primary factor in The Hobbit, I'll give you that. But I don't think two deaths in a row were entirely because of you, I know that in MP you had nothing to do with my vote for him and don't recall many people saying you'd influenced them. I'm not saying it means anything about you or your alignment, I'm just saying I don't quite think you can go around acting like some MP expert and claiming credit for things that you aren't really that responsible for. In my opinion MP's biggest tell is that when he's bad he makes his same huge posts but they don't actually say very much, I've used the phrase 'lots of words but not much use for them' in regard to him before. As a civ his dissertations generally tend to mean something. I'm not seeing bad MP either yet.

Re: Dr. Who Mafia! - Day 0
I'm worried now because I think I do this a lot and people must think I'm bad for it. Does what I've done to this post constitute cropping? I tend to chop bits out of quotes that I don't have anything to say to or aren't relevant to the conversation I want to have, mainly for ease of reading and so people know exactly what I'm talking about. Especially if I only want to respond to like three sentences out of an MP-scale post. It's not nefarious, just convenient.S~V~S wrote: Especially on this site, where we can't link to the original post via the quote. Taking things out of their original context can change the meaning sometimes. When someone asks you to produce a quote, as I asked Made "where did Zeek say that", producing the whole thing is better, cutting and pasting parts of it out looks like you are trying to hide something. This is only my opinion, of course, but I am fairly sure other people have said similar things in other games.
And yeah, I have done the "edit instead of quote" thing in other peoples posts, too. For some reason it's easier for me to do that by accident on phone, so I try to avoid quoting on phone if possible. I usually catch it in preview, when I realize that my comments are in the text~ it's one reason I avoid that trendy "replying in another color in the body of the quote" thing. I have only actually posted it once.

Those would be the Slitheen. Most people agree they're stupid and I'm actually pretty sure they never show up again after 9's run. You should check out some of Tennant or Smith's work. Actually the fourth episode of the current series is probably one of the best ever and might be still available on IPlayer.keys56000000000 wrote:*peeks into thread*

I tried watching the reboot of Dr Who a few years back. I got to the episode where aliens invade London, an episode I was looking forward to since I am a born and bred Londoner. But then the aliens just farted all the time and it was just, sorry to say, stupid. I stopped watching at that point. I may well pick it up at some point in the future, since I think my wife would enjoy the show.
So I only experienced the one doctor, and to be honest I wasn't that captivated by his performance, so I obviously have no idea which option to pick.
Having said all that, I feel compelled to pick the Doctor played by Matt Smith, which I believe is #11. *votes*

I was actually kidding at first! I suppose they could seriously be the Silence though, which would lend to the idea of them being bad.MovingPictures07 wrote:Wow, nice theory. That's a definite possibility and would explain why they're not listed. Would that be a third mafia team then? If so, that's kind of scary, but might actually be kind of a good thing since the baddies will have a lot of competing factions to worry about, and won't focus on just ridding civvies. When I had three mafia teams in Classic Rock, there was more fighting among mafia teams than I expected, with the Satanists rising to an advantage among the ashes of the other two. So I wonder if that's what's going on here.Bullzeye wrote:Yay, game begins!

I know it could be unlikely we'll guess correctly, so it probably is sort of pointless to speculate, but there's really nothing wrong with discussing it, especially since it appears we can change votes.

The War Doctor is who 8 regenerated into after deciding he needed to stop the Time War for good. He's the Doctor who wasn't the Doctor. Except he totally was.

I think Tennant was good but part of me thinks he's also overhyped. He had a lot of the best episodes but he gets a lot of credit just for being good looking as well. Matt Smith got me back into the show after I'd sort of lost interest and missed most of season 3/4 and the specials. He had some lame episodes but also some of the most badass scenes. Eleven is totally my Doctor.
Not quite right. From what I heard Ecclestone was invited to be a part of the 50th but decided it was best if he stayed away because he pretty much hates everything about the production. John Hurt (War Doctor) was always going to be that character, in 9's first episode he is implied to have only just regenerated. Also the things Matt Smith says about him in Name of The Doctor wouldn't make sense if he was talking about Ecclestone's character.Made wrote:Doctor from the 50th anniversary special, if I am correct, he isn't even suppose to exist. Capaldi's first episode was no Eleventh Hour but I thought it was decent. The second, not so much. The Robin Hood episode was fun and the latest one was quite interesting IMO, while Listen is up there with Blink as one of the best ever. I think he's going to do a great job.Dom wrote:You think so? Please, pretentious away. Really I think it's River Song who killed it though. Her plot was so convoluted and dumb that I barely even remember what happened in the season six finale or really what the overall point of it all was. I also think she kinda ruined Amy.
