Re: Retrocausality Mafia - Night 3: Enter the domain of Chronos

I can't effect the night kill directly just cus of how real life time works. speedchuck couldn't text quin tonight and be like hey guess what you didn't die after all, go ahead and post a bunch in the past during day 3 except not after that cus you're dead already

but if my targeting causes people to get unblocked or unprotected they can die or undie or i guess... hypothetically re-die?

if there's any game where that would be allowed it would probably be this one?
MacDougall wrote: Sun Jun 24, 2018 3:58 amTarget the suspected killer and then someone doc Quin?
or target the suspected yersterday killer and have that player also be targeted with a block today so the past kill would be blocked in the future and the past death would unhappen though that would take crazy luck

i've already been told that wouldn't work, directly targeting a killer does nothing. :(

yes, exactly. it undoes the original action and redoes it a phase later. cut and paste.
What about macs point. How can it, for example, undo what I’ve seen?
it wouldn't, and i'm too sleepy to theorize the philosophy behind why it would be in a real time travel narrative, but basically this is a mafia game and basically it would be dumb as hell if speedchuck had to be like "hey btw some stuff randomly unhappened in the past plz pretend like you don't remember it"

if we don't prove turnip head's win condition tonight i think he needs to be lynched. Scotty wrote: Sun Jun 24, 2018 2:03 am GUYS no one needs to be replaced. Maybe take a step back from the thread and then look at the big picture:

-With no reveals, we’re all floundering

-none of us know the inner workings of this game to know if what we’re doing is successful or worth a shit. Perhaps that simple fact could hinder the front of putting forth regular “effort”.

I get what Epi and Mac are saying if they’re saying it from this context because the Cubs need to be a strong group.
I voted for lapluie last round because I found her on similar footing with sig. I couldn’t pull the trigger on him and still have no idea one way or the other. It’s like playing paint by number but the package only came with shit brown paint. And now it’s starting to smell like its color too.

But until someone starts disclosing some more info, all you got is that there are 3 doctors, 2 people that had masonry in D0 where one is an indie, and that’s it for the current folk.

What is sprityo? Should we go into claim mode yet to really lay it out?

Who is lapluie? We have no idea. What is a lapluie.

What happened to all the gusto of defending him all game?
first of all, "defending" is inaccurate.

i've been advocating attempting to remove him from the game though his win condition in order to prove or disprove his alignment claim.

i got nervous about the lynch, and my lizard brain said "hey there's a chance that sig is mafia, but there's also a chance that he's really civ and has the ghost power that he's talking about." and "turnip head is also possibly mafia but in the best case scenario he is an independent" "either one can be proven with time, but the risk in lynching turnip head is relatively low since he's not a civ"

those were the thoughts that went through my head while i sold a guy 4 goldfish, and that's why i changed my vote.

Well, I normally do an initial lynch on people to get them talking, and then I'll vote for the person who seems scummiest or whose lynch will yield the most information.

I lol’d. Good one, even though I’m sure this isn’t a joke.

Do you feel like your lynch of lapluie is getting him talking? Right now it appears that you ordered Haricots Verts with the expectation of cake and when the green beans show up you just nod and continue patiently waiting on your cake.
I just thought I'd give them a little more time. Chill.
@lapluie, who do you think is scummy? Answer quick, because I'm getting into loads of trouble.
I’m chilling, I have a fan blowing on my feet

Also what does it mean to vote for someone on D1 that will yield the most information? That’s a catch-all reasoning, because lynching anyone yields the most information. We have no information.

I don’t believe that you actually care about what lapluie has to say. By your own admission, you have no suspects.

Might want to at least look at some more people, ZMan (can I call you ZMan?)
I'm going to [VOTE: Scotty] aubergine, just because he seems too eager to back Zephyrus into a corner over his Lapluie vote.
This was lunas last recent post, I don't really like it, didn't contribute to much other than facts about why Scotty is digging at zeph, was it that much of an obvious case for her that one is convinced Scotty is bad? Idunno I have a bad feeling

what about my early behavior towards TH seems false to you? me pushing him to give reads? if you're locked in a btsc with someone claiming indie what are you gonna do, not try to feel them out?
It's not that it seems false, it's that it IS false, given what you know about Turnip. But the way you phrase that question does make sense to me so I sorta see where you're coming from ... I think.
i guess i see where you're coming from. it was technically false from the angle that i was asking a question i already knew the answer to, but the purpose of the question wasn't to say "wow i didn't know that" it was to make sure that other people *did* know it.

also technically speaking didn't know for sure my btsc partner was turnip head until that moment cus we were allowed to use whatever names we wanted

Kylemii wrote: Fri Jun 22, 2018 8:52 pm @ColinIsCool what would have been the purpose in revealing mine and turnip head's masonship? he provided an easily verifiable claim, i didn't need anyone else's help to test it and if he was lying and killed me before I could speak the relevant information I could just leak the information through the ghost myspace information super highway. plus if he was mafia and hoping to use me to gain some kind of credit or something, revealing anything he'd said in the thread would only give incentive to kill me, and devoid of anything else, indie reveals always attract the kinds of people who hear indie and panic even though the game is about lynching mafia, who probably half the time are actually just mafia trying to use Indies as a distraction.

plus it would have been kinda rude.
I don't know. Your whole situation with TH is just strange, though, I think we can agree on that, and your behavior toward TH early on was clearly false. I don't know why you would go out of your way to present yourself falsely when you can just not comment on it at all.

If Kyle is telling the truth about everything involving TH, why does he need to misrepresent his knowledge in the thread? Why does he need to comment on it at all?
"misinterpret"

dislike. turnip head's wording was ambiguous, my question was a push for him to be more direct.
OK, I guess I can concede the semantics here. But why push him in the first place? To test his claim in public and to let it get sorted out?
yes, but also to see if he'd go further and publically commit to his claim. there's a huge difference between saying "I win if I predict 2 elections" in the privacy of a sex cave and saying it in a public space.

Re: Retrocausality Mafia - Day 3: Time to kick back and rewiiiind

it's also way fucked up to assume that if I were mafia and getting ready to pull some bullshit with turnip head, who tbh would probably be in my list of top 10 favorite people to potentially pull some bullshit with, that id settle on "hey let's claim masons but im a civ and you're an indie and also you have a win condition that can be accomplished in literally 2 phases and also you're a spongebob character and im michael caine and we hang out together and that's just how it is i guess, yeah that'll work fine, this is probably a good long term plan"
