I'd say it'd make you less reason to vote for you. Whatever strategy you're using to win isn't pinging, or at least isn't apparently threatening.

I think the hilarious and frustrating thing is shaking suspicion in this game is just as impossible as it is in any other game even tho in typical games have good and bad guys. Not sure what that says about the way mafia is typically played...

Painting Xs on peoples back is not a very polite thing to do, but it's last man standing, so yeah.

I think a fun thing to do, while we're still early in the game is to look closely at what people's strategies are, as this should be the part of the game where those are developing for the first time. Like i said previously, It's important to realize that this isn't traditional mafia, meaning that traditional mafia methods and thinking isn't going to be what wins this game, it's going to be avoiding death. Now there's many ways to do that, but some work better than others. Let's look at the ways that haven't worked this game thus far. and why they haven't worked.

1. Captain Creepy
Description: Acting like your the leader of a noble cause
Why they died: This alienated players, making them wary of the thoughts and motives this player might have
What can we learn from this death: Try to appear as transparent as possible to gain trust. Mystery draws fear and distrust

2. Vendeada
Description: Launching a personal vendetta against another player
Why they died: It gives killers a reason to kill you. Guilt by association, is a very easy way to keep control of who gets talked about during the game
What can we learn from this death: Don't threaten players by name, unless you're sure you groupthink will kill them by nightfall.

3 I AM MIA AMA
Description: Being a low poster
Why they died: No body likes killing people they perceive as engaged/interested. It's a guilt free vote.
What can we learn from this death: Posting enough to remain on the radar is important to surviving. as long as you appear often, you'll be harder to lynch.

Now let's look at some strategies that have worked so far!

1. Grouplove
Description: Agree with everything everyone says
Why this has worked: Agreeing makes you visible, and a potential ally to everyone, thus helping you to avoid both night kills and lynches

2.
Description: Say nothing that upsets other players
Why this has worked: Again, you're saying words, so you're visible, but you avoid any possible suspicion because what you're talking about ruffles no feathers.

3. Casebuilder
Description: Build cases/ demonstrate reasons why a person should vote a certain, then finish the job, and get the player lynched, or near lynched.
Why this has worked: Leave no ties! There's no reason to kill a player if they're attachment has died. It's not like typical mafia where the role reveal shows they player was actually a civvie. IF you're a persuasive player, this is a very valid strategy

There's many ways to skin this cat of a game, but outlining them might force rapid cat-skinning meta evolution, which sounds pretty interesting imo.

I don't think there's much point in putting stock in boo's claim, because if you do, you have to think one of the following: that nisani and his squad were all (or at least most of his squad) was killer/a threat, or trust his methodology.

For fun, however, I'd like to point at another target..... Standby. Brain is doing idea-y things and I need a fast method of entry (read keyboard rather than cellphone screen.

No but really it's plausible. Boo didn't talk night 2 death didn't kill night 2. Talked night 3, and death killed night 3. Keep in mind death kills every night, not just every other day.

Yes but look closer: Nisani and Nutella know dana outside of mafia, Nutella being the person who introduced her (and me) to mafia, so she's off the list. Nisani's off the list because the abovemented killing Dana would really dumb, and Nisani's smart.

Which is more of a threat: A role that can survive lynches (which btw make no sense to vote me if you believe that), or a role that can kill you?

*correction- Dana has played in 3 games including this one: MP, Misfits, and LMS 3*

Anyways, killing roles are the biggest threat to us all, I think everyone would agree, so they should take priority and focus. Remove them from the game would make those players who aren't killer now on equal (or at least more so) equal footing with their peers.

The best course of discussion right now would be who would kill who and why? I doubt anything more than double deflections or framing would of happen at this point as few people have yet to bring it up.

Starting with
"He who shall prolly die tonight"- Killing his teammate would be smart, but not this early. If people supported him, vocally or otherwise, it makes no sense to kill even one of them off during the early, wild wild west part of the game, especially considering his own deflection and crazy acting. His teammates/allies could of work as a deflection at the very least to prevent what's probably going to happen tonight.

It would make sense to talk crazy, it would make sense to kill teammates. Not both.

I think a great place to start would be Dana. Those who know who dana is would be the least likely to kill her for multiple reasons

1. Dana has only played in 2 games on this site, including this one, so i very much doubt that people who knew that would kill her, this early anyways
2. Dana's remote enough for the majority of the player base that it's very likely the killer choose her because remoteness.
3. A combination of knowing who Dana is, and killing her anyways would be very mean. While possible, a distancing strategy like that wouldn't work very well unless everyone had knowledge of Dana's relations to other players this game, which few players do.

And discuss!

Ok guys, if you may, throw traditional mafia out the window.

While I didn't want to admit it earlier (because death), SVS had the right idea early on, thinking about the game differently than you think of a typical mafia game.

In a traditional mafia game, as civvie, your goal is to work together against a common unknown enemy. This game is very different. The goal of this game is to misdirect, but without the use of secrets to hide behind. There's no outright lying because-- if you want to view the game from a traditional mafia perspective-- everyone is mafia

So where does that leave us? Each player can be looked at as a threat, and how much of a threat they could possibly be is based not on their alignment or behavior, but how much damage they could do to you. Using this we can sort of prioritize who is the biggest threat

Well, Epi and Bullz started their verbal sparing late in Day 1. Most of it was during Day 2 but it is possible that Cupid saw their banter Day 1 and went for the lulz. In speed games, disputes tend to spill over into the next day if both parties survive the night. It could have happened Night 2 but that would have been a major stroke of luck.

But Cupid's role states he picks at the beginning of the game.

Considering the fact that this list puts X near the bottom, and all the dead players on the top I think it's a fake- or at least nothing objective. Also keep in mind it isn't allowed to paste information from PMs.

I'll agree with G-man, If the list means anything, it's a list of personal significance to X...but what kind of list do you put yourself on? There's only two teams this game, so even if it's a ploy to distance or anything like that it's highly unnecessary, therefore unlikely.

IF it's meant to distract, why would X post it, and not his teammate? The reason he's about to die is because of his weird posting and vagueness.

Experience mafia players, how are roles about being the most talked about typically phrased? MaybeX's trying to get his name said a bunch of times or something? Not being in thread, while saying utter nonsense would be a great strat to get a hell of a lot of suspicion....Wait.....

What if X has a army related role, and thought he was supposed to role play? He is a relatively inexperienced player and i did that my first game....maybe he's Milton???? I've never seen Get smart (tv show), does this type of talk fit his MO?

x 1,000,000. Not sure why Epi is on there twice. The three separated names make me wonder if they are who Nisani believes to be the Agents of the Plague. If that were true, then we at least got rid of one of them- though I don't know how Epi could be on both lists. Nisani, can you explain your list just a tad?

Here's what I was thinking about Nisani: His pledge actually means something. Considering the only people to have said it are now dead, I'm not touching it with a 120 feet pole

As for the agents of the plague. I almost feel like Nisani is making this all up, as nothing in roles show up as agent or plague. There is however a "..." at the end of Bipolar Bear's secret. A super secret secret that can't be solved for involving Plague? Speaking of which, does anyone understand Plague? Is s/he like if you get targeted this player you get the virus?

What I can't figure out is how/or why Cupid linked Epi and Bullz. Unless Epi had information about his link to Bullz, how would Epi known to go after Bullz? Could cupid of known to attach the two for comedic effect by attaching them late? Was it just blindly hilarious luck?

I feel a likely solution would be that Epi had information on Bullz, but that information was limited.

Also it should be noted that something happened to Death last night.

I agree, I wouldn't confuse Epig's usual play style (which is what i feel i'm seeing) with an attempt to draw a night kill or lynch as timebomb.

Right now, i'm seeing nothing wrong with Nisani's game beside how cryptic it might be considered, I am curious why Boo is so quick to hop on nisani for such a strange play style.

OK, so here's what I'm thinking. SVS was the one who came up with the "vote low poster" approach demonstrating quite a bit of influence on the thread, as it worked to decided the first, and maybe even the second lynch *stares longingly at Nisani*

The majority of aligned players this game voted for me, while all non-aligned players had not. I think it would be in the best interest, powerwise, to have the nonaligned join an alliance against those who SVS has influence over. If everyone truly is a wild card, then aligned, persuasive, and liked wildcards are definitely the biggest threat in a game like this no?

Also, I think it's worth saying that I tried playing last night , but no one responded till after I went to bed so *shrug* damn timezones, and normal people sleep schedules.

Now, after me, Boo has the second most votes. If we want to use "alignments" as a possible to lynch the next logical choice would be Nisani. Nisani is a fairly low poster (by the time i finish this series of post i'll probably have more post than him, and his alignment has only one person.

Longcon, you should ditch the dead weight while you can. Join an alignment with actual people in it, so you're not forced to defend an afker. How would that make you look LC? I mean, with the gap between 2nd and last poster shrinking, we're going to need another logical person to vote for after Nisani, and you'd be next on the list, especially considering some players opinion on Nisani already

Guess I was too busy for this game. My check the thread twice a day approach doesn't work all that well when everyone votes before I check evidentally.
