Also fyi I’m going to be driving for 8-10 hours tomorrow, so don’t expect much out of me the first half of this phase. I’ll try to make a difference before I succumb to this coffee. This is why I prefer tea.

I observe that this new statement is contrary to Hyena's impulsive response to my vote moments ago. They say some stuff about me that I continue to not follow. My vote scared Hyena off of Mac. I was at one point a suspect, but not when I cast the Scary Vote, which was scary because it was unexpected, but I wasn't a suspect, but I was scary. I had no indication other than Hyena's harsh reaction to my vote that suggested I was ever a suspect. Apparently I was not a suspect at that time, but I had been earlier.
This does not compute. I don't know what the accusation is here. There might not be one. It was just a jarring thing that stood out to me.

This is not dissimilar to my own suspicion of Drago. I felt like his outright denial of me when I showed up yesterday was inorganic. I've worked with town drago in the past and had some good cooperation. I don't feel like there was any effort on his part to develop a read on me.

What makes you believe that Duskfall's suspicions are the reason he was poisoned? Why not just that he's a widely trusted player?

Funny has risen out of my scumpile and has settled into null territory, mostly because I'm now a little more suspicious of Jack and Dragomir -- especially Dragomir. G-Man has sunk to null territory, too, because I'm feeling better about Mac and Nanook now. Dusk is confirmed town, and Boo remains my strongest townread.

Now that the other game is over, I can say that I town read G-man here in part because I've got fatigue when it comes to him: I've been erroneously suspecting him in every single game recently and I just don't have the energy to pursue that again. He looks exactly like the version of himself that I've helped pile onto several times in recent weeks.

I think this was one of those volatile Day 1s where we mistake activity for agenda and inevitably the suspects that emerge are players who try to make things happen, whereas the actual mafia are keeping a low profile and trying to maintain the status quo.

It's an intentional thing. I'm pretty sure it's been turned off in games where it's been found to be annoying then useful in the past though. But I don't think it can be done on an individuals preference.

I liked leetic's initial vote, honestly. It didn't register as too serious, and I took it as nothing more than an effort to infuse some life into the thread. He succeeded at that, albeit indirectly. I don't fault him for not responding to ensuing kerfuffle. I think he's just not here right now.

It's fine to tell me that I'm misreading things. But it doesn't mean anything if you can't tell me why that's the case. So far I've just been trying to get you to follow up on things that you have already said, but your response has been "I didn't say that."
Because people were saying that what you did was a bad thing and I disagreed. So I voiced my disagreement.

I wasn't trying to imply that. What I meant is that I don't care if you consider what I did to be a defense. I've played a lot of games where someone always suspected me cause I would defend players and I disagree with mentality that defense = buddying = scum. So if you're going to call what I did as a defense to say that in scum for it then do that. I don't care and it won't stop me from defending players in the future.

These are just a few posts from very early on in that game. The tone was consistent throughout.
I suppose it's not so much that she avoided reads, but she definitely gave off a very carefree attitude. She didn't seem to be bothered by the few pushes on her and wasn't gonna let people bully her into playing the game any way other than the way she wanted. The fourth post down comes to mind in particular.

johann i'ma have to respectfully disagree with this strategy. i guess wagonomics is way different on this site than what i'm used to, but just agreeing to kill off suspects without using flips to develop our reads isn't the best way to go about things imo. nor is it the best for the person getting a gun to straigh-up follow town consensus-- that never goes well from what i've seen. let people do their thing; try hard to pick the right person to get the gun

also, self-killing: actually never.

i don't like focusing on myself so much but the fact that so many people are incorrectly reading me despite having a better handle of my play in past games is leading me to believe that there's a considerable proportion of wolves within the people who've already said stuff

i'm an easy person to off for ~reasons~, and i don't have someone around who knows me better to lay a legit read

like i'm positioned to be a d2/d3 shot rn and i see it and i don't like it. but if i really believe this then i gotta believe that we're gonna have a bad eod this phase

She doesn't deny or it tell me I'm wrong or anything of the sort. She just asks me to explain it some more and then transitions into some reflection on her position in the game. Maybe I should have gone back to see how she handled suspicion in the previous game, but I don't think it was like this. This has the look of a player who feels like they're being caught.
