All that planning didn’t stand much of a chance against this town. Even if I’d managed to claw my way to an extra day, I was virtually POE’d out of the game from Day 1, and that was a direct result of great town play across the board.Hally wrote: ↑Mon Oct 26, 2020 7:44 pm i just read the scum chat and am so impressed with how much thought all three of you put into your interactions and strategy. specifically sloonei setting traps in his iso and trying to get eliminated before lc. i really should expect nothing else from someone who places such value on interaction analysis as town, but it’s really awesome nonetheless. and spf and lc staging those interactions in the grasslands as well was very nice. just extremely well done all around from all three of you

Re: Grasslands [Game Thread]
I never thought Thunal would get voted out in a million years. While it was a mistake at the time, I think it (maybe) helped town win the game. I didn’t have access to the deadchat, obviously, so I’m not sure what town was thinking. But I’m pretty sure spf’s plan was to kill her the last night and go into F3 with nutella and whichever of tutuu/nanook was left standing. Voting Thunal out completely threw a wrench in that plan.

I am pretty much done. It feels like I can’t make it out of this day (or night, technically) alive. Good luck moving forward y’all. I’m still around and am not above a purely self-preservation vote. I think a nanook/alison team makes sense and advocate votes on either them, both right now and moving forward.
I can vote for Martin too if it's either me or him. Meh.

Without looking into it deeply, nanook’s vote on LC (which he insists should clear him) means absolutely nothing in an Alison/LC world. Their third partner needs to vote for one of them on Day 2. Casting the “deciding” vote is a good play.

Re: Grasslands [Game Thread]
I mean that you are the person who seems least willing to consider alternatives at this very moment. It’s great that you’ve put in work previously. But now it’s time for us all to make a decision and you’re just sitting there.Alison wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 2:56 pmWhat exactly do you mean by complacent? Do you mean:
...that I am the person who is most confident that I am right? I have good reasons to believe I am right; I showed my work, my POE analysis, my read on you all the way. If I am good reasons to believe I am right, I am going to be confident that I will be right. I am not going to downplay the confidence I have in my beliefs in order to avoid feeling ashamed in the event I am wrong. That would be misrepresenting my read of the game in order to achieve personal emotional fulfilment, which is not optimal play.
...that I am the person who is doing the least to cover the possibility that I am wrong? I've done my best to show you what I think you should do in the 3v2 if I am wrong. Because if I am wrong here, then the events of the next day will be fairly straightforward; town can't afford not to exe me, and frankly I would prefer they did so I don't get dragged to F5 as the designated game-losing misexe. So in the event that I am in fact wrong, I've already done work to show how I believe town should act in that scenario, which I believe counts as covering that possibility.
What is the single most compelling piece of evidence against me, Alison?

I am town. No one is asking for you to get mad. It is wrong to assume I will flip wolf. It js not wrong to continue to solve the game.Alison wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 2:40 pmThat is only true if you are town which I am not convinced is the case. But also if that was really the case then there's nothing I can do about it so why would I get mad? Like even if you convince me that town always loses in the event you flip town, what am I going to do about it? Not flip you? That's just wrong. You don't have near enough chance of flipping town for that. I obviously can't stop the town from exeing me if you flip town either. The only thing I can do in that situation is to tell the town who I think is scum in that scenario to help them win the 3v2, which is what I just did.
So even in that worst case scenario there's no reason for me to act in a different way from the way I'm acting right now.

If you are town and the game follows the path you are assuming it will over this phase and the next, then we are at a 3vs2 lylo. Does that not concern you? You are acting like that is an ideal spot to be in or something.Alison wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 2:34 pmMy guess is nanook/tutuu in that world. In that scenario I'd be exed next, which is fine and correct play, and then after that you'll have proven there's two deepwolves so you have to figure out who's the least towncleared. Which is nanook and tutuu (assuming my read on Martin is correct, which I believe it is right now). There's nothing indicating they aren't teammates. Obviously you probably don't want to sleepwalk exe in F5 and you'll have to do your own solving after I'm dead but like if you put a gun to my head and asked me who's the most likely scum team I'd say it's probably them.Thunal33 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 2:29 pmIf Sloonei does flip town, who do you think the scum team would be?Alison wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 2:24 pmI mean it's true. One good reason is that I am town. No homework required.Alison wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 2:16 pmGive me one good reason for me to believe that things will go wrong. I've done my homework, I know you're the correct vote for today. If it's two deepwolves and we've all been owned then nothing I say or do in this day phase will change that so there's no reason to panic. If it's not two deepwolves then I don't see how you can flip town.
Furthermore, panicking and self-doubt doesn't catch deepwolves; neither does random tinfoil spewed out out of paranoia. What catches deepwolves is calmly clearing the POE, proving there's a deepwolf, and then trying to figure out who in that position is the most likely to be a deepwolf. How does any of the behavior I've seen in the past couple of pages help anyone?
Why is everyone else town?
