I need to give a special thanks to @juliets for all of her help this game. She signed up to mod, but I asked if she could also help me out with hosting duties because my job is not conducive to consistently meeting mafia deadlines. She ended up handling more deadlines than me and was on top of all the hammers in the late game. Thank you juliets, you made my life much easier for the last couple weeks.

I thought the desperado mechanic provided a slight boost to the town, but it was a bit understated: fingersplints was chosen (as I understand it) because she was widely town-read and would have been a nightkill target anyway under normal circumstances. It was basically just mountainous with one accelerated phase: either the town gets a free elimination, or the mafia team gets a bonus night kill on Day 3.
I liked it and thought it was a balanced setup. Any game that makes it F3 usually is. But (going back to the original inspiration to run this game) I feel like it would become very repetitive if it was used in a tournament setting.
The players might have different opinions about this though.

Elaborating on this. These details have already been shared in spec chat, so if you saw the explanation there, this isn’t anything new:
I was ambivalent about running the game with 15 players instead of 14 from the beginning. In Game #1, town has one extra member and it made their task that much easier. I felt the setup was town-sided but not broken. To even things out, I decided that I could modkill a civilian who needed a replacement if the opportunity arose. That was going to be my plan if it was possible. But if all the townbees showed up, fair enough, we would play the game as 12 vs 3.
So then all the townbees did show up... but one of the mafia members did not (1612 still has not picked up his rolecard), and Syn told me he’d be needing a replacement within the first few hours of the game. Martin was literally alone in scum chat. And, considering that I already had misgivings about the setup being too town-sided, I decided that I would rather pull the plug before anyone could get too invested rather than scramble for subs just to have a mafia presence at all in the game.
I asked you all not to talk about your roles from the previous game because I did not want anyone to attempt to base any reads off of this information. It would have been fruitless anyway (I decided on that rule before reassigning any roles or even filling out the roster), but I figured it would all be gone and forgotten within the first 24 hours of the new game anyway, and the only thing it could do to this game would be to drag it down into messy angleshooting hijinks.
Thanks again to everyone for putting up with that. It’s the first time in my many many years of hosting that I’ve ever needed to do anything of the sort. It was obviously not ideal, but I thought this game went quite well once it actually got to happen. I hope you all had fun, as always.

The hive was buzzing as the hunt for the last threat lingered on. And the Anti Bee Confederacy wasn't sitting still: in the night they plucked the wings off of Beesooa. It was obvious she was a bee, after all. It's right there in the name!
Esooa has been exterminated. She was a Bee.
It is Day 5. You have 48 hours to sting somebody.
Alternatively, this phase can end if a majority is reached: with 5 players alive, a majority occurs at 3 votes on any one player.

The bees came out buzzing at the first sign of a threat to their hive. With the queen in danger, they assembled into defensive positions and all gathered round to sting the falcon that was encroaching upon their territory. And it turned out that falcon was acutally... a skunk, in disguise.

And after their first hive sank into the swamp, they'll be damned if they let any harm come to the new hive!
There are some out there, however, that would seek to bring them down, topple their honey empire. And still there are others that just like eating honey and have no respect for the hard work of bees. In a time of peril, the Syndicate Bees must band together to rid themselves of threats both internal and external.

A note about this rule for this particular game: Discussion of any events, roles, or alignments from the previous version of this game will be considered as angleshooting and out-of-game info. Players are forbidden from discussing or speculating about any events or potential player alignments from the previous game, even if the discussion is centered around a player who is no longer in this game.
This rule is intended to protect the players in this game more than anything else. The previous game has absolutely no bearing on this one, and any speculation to the contrary would be fruitless. Nevertheless, it will be enforced the same as any other rule.
All roles and mechanics in this game are identical to the previous one.

Bee Mafia


The setup: Beesparado 2: Klimbelajio's Revenge
- 11 Vanilla Town (Bees) vs. 3 Mafia Goons (Anti Bee Confederacy)
- On Night 2, the Mafia team must select one Town player to receive a 1-shot daykill (the Desperado). Selected player must be different than the Nightkill target. If the Mafia team neglects to submit a name, a target will be selected at random AND they will be unable to perform a kill that night.
- The Desperado will be granted a 1-shot daykill ability on Day 3. They must shoot during that phase. Failure to do so will result in that player's death.
- If Desperado targets a member of the mafia team with their daykill, the targeted mafia member will die. If they target a member of the town team, the Desperado will die instead. The shot will be submitted privately to the hosts.
- Full claiming is legal.
- Days 1-3 will feature plurality voting. From Day 4 onward, a hybrid plurality/majority vote will be enabled: if a player receives more than half of all possible votes at any point during a phase they will be eliminated immediately. If this does not happen, the player with the most votes at the end of 48 hours will be eliminated. Exception at LYLO.
Other Rules
~ Day phases will last 48 hours. Night phases will last 24 hours. The thread will be locked at Night. We will do our best to ensure consistent deadline times.
~ Votes must be cast in the poll to be official. Additionally, players are encouraged to call their votes in the thread via [VOTE: vote tags] aubergine.
~ If players wish to vote for no elimination during any Day phase, they can do so by selecting "No one" in the poll.
~ When no Majority is available or reached, the player with the most votes at the end of the Day will be eliminated (plurality). When Majority is is available, a player is eliminated immediately upon receiving more than half of all possible votes in the poll for that phase (Ex.: with 15 players the majority would be 8).
~ Any questions about the setup or game mechanics should be sent to the host in private.
~ No excessive appeals to emotion, angleshooting, or application/exploitation of out-of-game information.
~ Remember above all else that we are playing a game with friends on the internet. Bee kind and respectful to one another. If, however, you become frustrated with anything in the game at any time, you are encouraged to contact the game's MoD to discuss your issues outside the game thread. For this game, the MoD is juliets.
~ You are allowed to have bees in here.
~ This is the Host color. All official host announcements will be made using this color. Players should try to avoid using it in their own posts.
