What use could two players with one account have?Bela Fleck wrote:hydra is a slot that has 2 or more players under one account, me and silver did it all the time, as for the terms, its something that is common words for me, its like how i used pedit instead of what seems like linki. I dont mind bringing new terms over that i commonly used.Miles Davis wrote:One thing that would really help is if you stop using acronyms for every other word here, Fleck. And that goes for when you're ika here as well. 90% or more of the players here will not know any of the acronyms and references (like "hydra", no I do not know what that means) that I assume mafiascum players take for granted.
There's no meta players in this game because it's a sockpuppet game. I see plenty of analysis of players based on their previous games in non-sockpuppet games here. I love meta-analysis, I love to hear meta-analysis of my own play because it's like an instruction book other players write entitled "How To Trick Me Next Time".thats fair, im used to anythign from this to "I am mind screwing you"Many of the players here have probably never even played a closed setup game with a godfather, a cop, a doctor, and no other power roles.
so its jsut like my homesite and how i mod and make game? i do have to ask then, why are there like no meta players? Here on The Syndicate, almost all of our games are non-standard, with creative roles and experimental factors.

Well, I did tell you right away actually. Remember the post where I said we don't know if the Godfather tricked the cop, or protected his team, or had extra votes, etc?Well, if someone told me that sooner, it would of saved me a lot fo pain and efforts on what I was saying. The assumptions you made about this game are not assumptions anyone else is likely to make, because this style of game is pretty outside the norm in its standard-ness.

Thats........ Something I cant entirely help, im a busrt poster as i like to call it, so what i mean by that is i will come in and post a bunch of stuff in multi post fashion. On the flip side, sometimes it is nice to avoid a huge wall of text single post by splitting it up into logical sections in different posts.Chris Potter wrote:I'd also ask Fleck to try and not post thrice in a row. Eat a dick, Hiromi! jkHiromi Uehara wrote:@ the other folks, let's not criticize Bela for using acronyms that we don't know. He can't automatically know all of our terminology just from playing a game or two here. We can be a little more patient and ask what they mean, and share our own variation if possible. The beauty of having players from other mafia cultures come play here is they bring a new spice to our lives. They should not automatically have to play and act exactly as we do.
I mean, he used the acronym "PR" (which I believe is power role), and posted 3 times in a row. It's not like he told someone to eat a dick or something.

I didn't feel like I was being critical or harsh at all. I was friendly and helpful... wasn't I?

Sorry about that, Ornette! I was wrong to suspect you for your weird behaviour. Since my Fleck suspicion is just fake, I am down with lynching Dixon or Hiromi. Re: [Day / Take 3] Esbjörn Svensson Trio Mafia
Dixon has been a suspect of mine for a while, and I agree with the reasoning that he said he suspected Buble but then didn't vote for him. That would make him my best choice. Ornette has been playing sort of a 'chaotic-shallow' game as I recall, which makes him a totally acceptable target in my books. Fleck I have as my reddest red just because. So again, I'm on board with a Dixon lynch and am willing to vote that way. Bill Dixon

Re: [Rest / Night 2] Esbjörn Svensson Trio Mafia
You guys have no problem with the idea that the last scum cast the deciding vote to kill the Godfather on Day One?
You just voted to lynch Tito Puente based solely on his vote on the Fleck counterwagon. So you think that both Buble and Tito tried to save Buble by voting Fleck, and that their last teammate Mingus screwed those efforts over by casting a late vote on Buble?

Interesting to note the Sorsha-baddie-inactivity, let's remember that for future games.Billie Holiday wrote:Tito was on Buble's cw so yeah, it was him or Hiromi as easy choices.Miles Davis wrote: I think we got pretty lucky with Tito turning up bad, by going for an inactive.

Fleck, I do not believe that it is beyond your capabilities to post more and make spelling mistakes as a deliberate fake-out when you are bad. I mean... how gullible do you think we are?
On another note, I should say that I have been getting a bad feeling from Chris Potter. I looked to see where he voted, though, and he was second voter for Buble. So that's a bit lame, to suspect another Buble voter in addition to Fleck... but there it is.

This just felt like a baddie who knows Fleck and Holiday are Civ, and was buddying them.Chris Potter wrote:I believe Fleck and Holiday were the first ones to vote for Bublé, buddy. They're either town or just too goddamn dumb.Charles Mingus wrote:This is just hilarious.
Also, I love how Fleck says the baddies would never bus Buble, unless of course I'm doing it (the final fucking vote) in which case it's not only possible but probable. Right. Then we've got Chris Potter sensing a bandwagon or two brewing and ready to be one of the first to jump it without contributing any arguments as to why.

Re: [Take / Day 2] Esbjörn Svensson Trio Mafia
I don't feel all that comfortable basing anything on what "ika" is likely to do because this is a sockpuppet game. It's distasteful to keep referring to Fleck's real identity so flagrantly, and it's exponentially compounded by full-on multi-post defending him based on his real identity. We - you, Billie - shouldn't even know who he is beyond "Bela Fleck". I'm not biasing my opinion of the actions of Bela Fleck based on what ika is or isn't supposedly likely to do. I'm not likely to judge ika himself based on what ika says he does as a baddie, I think that whole idea sounds like a trap to prey on idiots... but it's absolutely not going to even be considered by me for judging Bela Fleck.

I'm picking up what Billie is laying down here, that she's reading Fleck as Civ... but the nail in the coffin for me is that he's going after Mingus, who was the final clinching vote for Godfather Buble -- AFTER Fleck went on and on about how a scum would never bus a teammate, especially the Godfather, in a game of this size.
I do not share any of the assumptions that Fleck takes as fact. I don't know if the Godfather was immune to rolechecks, or protected his team, of was able to block someone at night, or something I haven't heard of before. I don't know if there's a cop, or a doctor, or a roleblocker, or a lie detector, or a bomb, or a one-time ninja. Fleck seems to have it all figured out, I don't know why he expects a Syndicate game to be the same as some mafiascum standard fare.
Bela Fleck

Re: [Take / Day 2] Esbjörn Svensson Trio Mafia
Top suspects for today.
Bela Fleck - Distancing vote cast for Buble, and one received in return from Buble. After Wilgy is nightkilled, he attempts to pin the kill on... Wilgy. That lazy play, not real attempts to solve the game.
Ornette Coleman - Defended Buble, really under the radar player, and calls Coltrane a confirmed Civ, which I really don't like seeing at all.
Bill Dixon - says he'd vote for Buble earlier, but when it comes down to it and Buble has three votes, he decides Buble's responses are "sincere", and that he's going to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Lots of assumptions here, Trane. You have some sheet music the rest of us aren't aware of?John Coltrane wrote:I agree with Fleck here, it makes zero sense to bus the gd day 1 when they could've easily voted for another wagon. Assuming there are only 3 mafia members, they are down to two. The cop can red check both the living players. The mafia has just lost their most important player.
I also think we should look into the player who didn't vote, could be mafia there.

Too true, I wasn't around much Day 1. Ain't no thang though, just busy.Vince Guaraldi wrote:Coleman never really took a stand and only had one concrete thought Day 1. Not many posts there.
Coltrane was justified in moving past sock-hunting. It's not a fruitful exercise here because we don't know who all is playing. Now he did flip-flop in only a fee measures on Bela. First he said none of the Buble votes looked bad but then said Fleck could be. Strange but not terrible. I disagree on his bussing comments. In a game this small, bussing a teammate on Day 1 could provide crucial cover and put you on the trail to victory.
Davis was largely absent Day 1 with just a few riffs here and there. Nothing very above the radar at all. He could have hidden behind my vote but it would look worse to blindly glom on. He's been laying down some wisdom tonight though. As long as he's not trying to build a Day 2 train on Fleck, I'm cool with him for now.

Re: [Rest / Night 1] Esbjörn Svensson Trio Mafia
Fleck, you are talkin' all kinds of mumbo-jumbo here now. Not too impressed with your lack of grace under pressure.
Second, it makes no sense to ask to explain the idea of bussing "outside of town cred". Bussing is about getting town cred. Period. Again, you're trying to change the conversation.
I didn't SAY you are the kind of player who make smart choices, I have no solid opinion on that front. Maybe you are a balls-out risk-taker.
The FACT is that you have been listed as the towniest town that ever towned on several lists already.
Let that sink in for a second, and consider whether or not you really need to ask me how it would be a good play.
First, he said I have a point. He didn't make any judgment calls on whether or not it was superior, you added that in. You tried to change the conversation.Bela Fleck wrote:Like if your so adamant to say his point is superior to mine, explain my grand plan outside of the idea of town cred

I assume that by "3pr game" you meant "13 player game"?Bela Fleck wrote:and are you aware how the entire play went out? Are you aware that in a 3pr game that scums will prob fight a little more to keep a GODFATHER alive and not go "lol bus"Miles Davis wrote:You are aware of the normally desired benefits that result from successful distancing from a scum teammate, aren't you?
Tell me how its better play to bus a GF on day 1 and hope for town cred than jsut vote elsewhere based on how the dicussion went

My first thought was that Fleck would be crazy enough to do some mega-distancing with the early vote for Buble... but that don't really seem like a popular idea, Coltrane's runnin' hot on the notion that no one would bus the Godfather... but if I had to pick one that is, it would be Fleck. Just one man's opinion.

Re: [Take / Day 1] Esbjörn Svensson Trio Mafia
I can get down with this attitude. I actually did read the rules first, they mostly caught my attention because of the crazy numbering system. Felt like somethin' sketchy was going down, so I looked deeper into it.Vince Guaraldi wrote:I dig your line of thought. I do, I do. But I'm going to throw my vote at Billy Boy Dixon at the start. That cat was the first (and for a while, the only) one of us to do something the host wanted. Not a bad thing on its own. Waving that fact in our faces in an attempt to gain favor with the host, however, is brown-nosing. Can't stand for that here. No siree.Fats Navarro wrote:Coltrane why did you dismiss a subject of discussion?
Who's down to vote this man with me?
Point being, I felt good about seeing the jazz hands thing before moving on, and I would have appreciated no discussion of it at all in the thread. That way, I get to show that I really passed the test, instead of just reading about it in the thread from some blabbermouth who can't keep their cool for five minutes.
Does it make him bad? No. But I take things personal sometimes. Bill Dixon
