Ok. I'm sure I'm able to have "good tone" as scum too. And I hadn't really gotten to it, as you say, when you town read me. But sure, you're not wrong lol.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2020 2:28 pmI had/have liked your tone. You've seemed like the classic free-flowing post-whatever I'll Make Waves When I Get To It Dyslexicon I most associate with my internal Dyslexicon lexicon. I don't get the impression you're trying to look like something.
I've appreciated ted's barbed, no-nonsense go at the thread. His first move was to shit directly into my very own Corn Flakes. Given that he [to my memory] has not played with me before but has some conception of JaggedJimmyJay gives that motion an emboldened solver look that I like.
And I agree on Ted now that I've paid more attention there.

Yeah, multiball sucks. But some players are just pure in heart. Like me. <3 I read your post to/about me, will respond.Master Radishes wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2020 5:15 pmThe caveats are pretty much the same caveat, e.g. 'Player X seems to be working hard to solve the game; this is a good look for them...except if they're just on scum team 1 and are looking for scum team 2.'
Ted and Sig pop into mind when I think of this.
Another example: normally I'd say Turnip's vote on me feels natural enough, as he hinted at it in earlier posts; but then again, if he's Scum A who wants to slip onto a non-leading wagon he thinks could be Scum B, then he's played it exactly right.

Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Day 1]
Ok, but your fight is kind of boring ngl. It's seems devoid of substance or at best filled with history I don't know about.
Saying you are waiting for Jack to change his mind doesn't really give him any out if he is in fact town and does in fact change his mind. I mean, have the read on him that you want.
I also don't get Jack's so sure read on you. Is that normal for Jack, anyone? I seem to remember a more tempered town!Jack.
Anyway Nut/Jack isn't really interesting to me right now. They make a lot of noise, but I bet there's many many scum among the people not making any waves right now.

Do you mean actual joke or just not serious read? Cause you just flat out said me and Sloonei has good scum equity. I don't see the punchline. It's fine that it was early, and it's fine if it's not relevant to you anymore. I just don't understand what the "joke" is.NANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2020 1:48 pmNo, I don’t. Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Day 1]
Also, looked at the setup. 10 non-town in a 24 player game is rough. So I'm just here for the love, the hugs and the blood.
The people that didn't pop into my mind are Turnip, Tranq, Epi, Dom, Drag, Colin, Mac, Speed and Sprit.
Out of these - I think Turnip is way cute and the few takes they have, I don't mind. I don't think I would be able to catch it if they were scum though. Epi I don't feel bad about from what I've seen. But it's not strong.

Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Day 1]
Some thoughts:
Nanook - I think I just decided he can be town because I don't think he would do honest self deprecation like "I must suck". I find these tells are consistent enough for me to go with it. I like it when he posts reads and less when he spends all the energy arguing about how others read him. I feel the "reading on D1 in multiball is hard", but we must be like Sisyphus in this.
Sig - Probably town. I like the pushing and the prodding and the activity and everything.
Michelle - Honestly not strong opinions. Could be town.
I wish Tony posted more. I felt town in my heart, but I miss him.
Jimmaaay and [b]Sloonei [/b]- Honestly no read. But I like the activity so yay.
Nut - Kind of interested in the perspective that Nut is scum. I don't really know how to read her myself. I don't feel I have enough knowledge to have an opinion on Nut vs Jack. Jack is just null.
Sabie - A low content "I will catch up later" sabie is not a good thing in my experience. Booooo.
G-Man - Hardly anything. Over rationalizing vanilla flavor is ..lol? Booooo.
Juliets - Underwhelming. Booooo.
Ted - Honestly don't hate their posts. Don't know anything about them though.
S-V-S - Not sure. All posts are like ok, but I don't particularly understand why she felt moved to ask Radish why he used the word "baddie" if she didn't think it would be AI at all. Seems like she backed out. The whole thing became a argument between Sig and Nanook, which I think are both town. And both S-V-S and Radish are not in it or trying to solve it at all, which I don't like.
Radish - [VOTE: Radish] aubergine This is the player I get the worst impression of.
Anyone I haven't mentioned should be less forgettable =p

Actually, hot take. Nanook might be town for one specific reason: He said "I really suck at this." He doesn't seem like the type to say he actually sucks if he was indeed scum. Seems more like town righteousness. ("You suck, I don't.") Haven't looked at his old town game yet though.

But if you're town, developing your own reads and engaging honestly with people in order to figure out their alignment would be more productive, I think. For example, I've asked you why you thought I had scum equity. Is that something you feel moved to follow up? Other reads?NANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 11:51 pm I’m probably wasting my time talking to sig now tho, it’s clear he doesn’t super care about whether he’s right or not. What make you compelled to town read me at this point exactly? Just curious as I'm just now starting to play for real.
Also can you tell me more about Ted? I've seen people read him town, so why?
I'm a bit vary of Ted and Nanook for narcissistic reasons. Almost every game here at least one scum likes to slap scum reads on me. I think I just give off "easy target" vibes for people that don't know me. It's happened a lot, and these two both mentioned a scum read on me and also have never played with me. For whatever that's worth.

Not great. I get the feeling that his presence is a bit flashy/comes across as performative. It's something I've seen with experienced players that they want to be a bit edgy/go against the grain give the impression that they are confident and have nothing to hide when they are scum. Compensating. Like when they asked "are we all seriously reading into ice cream flavors" (<-- from memory, might not be exact) or something like that. I don't know if I explain this right, but "performative" is what comes to mind and it feels not great.

And this thing. Honestly, I think "baddie" is a real unique word, and I've never seen it used outside of Cindy Kate. I've never adopted it myself (because it's seeeelly). So I don't think the question from S-V-S or hangup from Sig is weird at all. Do I think it's alignment indicative for Radish? Nope. People adopt or do not adopt words for all kinds of reasons. The brain is too complicated and there's too many steps of assumptions to get anything from it. But I do flinch every time someone who doesn't know me calls me "Dizzy" for example. (Though I encourage everyone to call me Dizzy, please.)NANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 6:53 pm Yeah who could possibly use the word baddie
I think Sig's follow up on S-V-S looks more town concern than not. Also the way he tagged certain players to get opinions.

Catch ups page something
Trying to break my posts up, cause they get ignored if they are too long lol
So this game is multiball, which means a lot of how the game is going to shake out is going to be really hard to control. The ghost mechanic that S-V-S pointed out can really help town here to get an actual core we can trust if we use it right. Scum can even use it to reveal info the have about the other scum team to take the heat off of their own team. In multiball, the death of a scum team is usually them ignoring the other scum team, cause they're so used to thinking town is their enemy, when in actuality the other scum team is just as much of an enemy with even greater disruptive powers.

So this whole thing.. I don't agree with Sig that trying to form town cores or just players you trust more or whatever is a bad thing. For me it's the best way I know how to play the game. But also, I'm unsure Sig would say that so upfront if scum? It's like "Don't make town reads, guys!" when he also is making town reads. That kind of contradiction strikes me more town stress than scum. If I was to guess.NANOOKTHEGREATANDFEARSOME wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 4:35 pm Yeah heaven forbid we have a town core, what would we do then

I had just skimmed lightly parts of the game up to this point. I liked Michelle's entrance of shading the vanilla choosers (even if the argument itself is meh). I think scum!Michelle is more careful. It's light as hell and mostly gut. Michelle and Tony are two players I've been decent at reading in the past, and they both gave more town vibes than not when looking at their posts.

Apparently the poll on Day 0 could've had a purpose. Probably not game changing anyway. Cindy Kate is seeelly. So that made me overthink those few people who picked vanilla and rationalized it in thread. I think Speed and G-Man. I have no reference for what such a poll could mean. I thought people were picking vanilla because it's the only flavor who's also a role in the game. And no matter what role you are, indicating that you are vanilla is usually good, so I thought it was just jokingly pointing to that. I don't know how much this needs to be a thing.

Kind of don't like this post. I know the perspective of "it's good to be read town" can also be a town thing (and I agree, town should want to be read town), but I think scum is generally more focused on it.

A fond memory for sure. =p I think I made a whole read list with cat gifs? I'm seeeelly.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 9:48 pmI'm a town boy, Dizzy. I was just staring at your posts here and back in Currents when we were both bad to the bone. I found nothing worth saying. You posted lots of gifs. Hello!
I haven't really gotten into this game. Just glanced over here and there. I'll probably have to spend time playing catch up in chunks as I wasn't really prepared for this right now. But I promise you my reads are sometimes good. Ask Tony. =p
I'm going to assume you are town because that makes me feel good.

I glanced at the thread and I have half an idea about Tony being town. I like first impressions, cause they are usually kind of good.

What do you think?Master Radishes wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 5:28 pm I'm half-heartedly reading through. Do you guys ever stop talking about hidden significances behind your choice of ice cream flavour? Do I need to care about this conversation?
You would know if the voting poll was open.

Apart from that I have at least some idea or a lot of ideas about the others.

I've actually had rocked salat ice cream once. It was surprisingly not disgusting.
