She looks throughout D1 as if she is hoping somebody will just tell her to vote for so that she doesn't have to come up with a reason she knows is fake based on almost nothing. It's a perennial scum dilemma and not everybody handles it so well.
Okay, you're not wrong here. I hate day one lynches. It takes time for me to get a read on people, and on day one I sort of hope for any easy scum-tell to go off of.

I dunno about Dom. Hard to read I guess.
Epignosis is not in this game but if he was I feel like he's have stuff to nitpick about this word usage.

I think.

I guess.
I want to clarify something about my town meta, DDL. When I'm town I'm a lot more adventurous with my posts, sometimes at the risk of getting lynched early. Also If I were on a scum team with Marmot, I would not be communicating with him in thread like this, I would use our BTSC. I'm insulted that you think I would be that obvious.
Anybody else think the "I'm insulted" bit looks a little heavy-handed? As in, are you really?

The biggest thing in Luna's favor, imo, is that she essentially built the case against Long Con and deserves credit for his lynch. It's possible that the team made a conscious decision to bus him, and Luna did a fair amount of bussing in U-Pick as I recall, so we should examine whether those reasons are contrived:
If this was planned, it would be an amazing, well thought out scum-play. And those kinds of things just aren't very likely. Sometimes the simplest solution, is in fact correct.
Lunalee wrote: Thu Jun 21, 2018 11:27 am Long Con seems more excited about screaming at the music videos than posting real content, so I'm going to look at him for a second.

He shoots down sig's proposition on day 1, but come on, who didn't.
He missed the day one vote.
He ended up on DDL's list of screaming banshees, but I'm not convinced that means anything.
Put off replying to sig with what he thought about the day 1 lynch.
Continues to scream back at King Ramses
Asks speedchuck and Kylmii why they voted for him (on what I assume was the day one poll?).

Overall feel on Long Con: He seems lazy in this game, and not very helpful. I give him a read of probably scum.
Ask yourself this: looking at the same pieces of evidence, would you come to the conclusion that Long Con is "probably scum"? I sure wouldn't, but I want other people to know. If Luna is scum, this is incredibly crafty of her, but insufficient reasoning would betray her here. It's made even more complicated by the fact that she reads sig later on with more stuff to go off of but is hesitant to give him as convicting a sentence. Hmm hmm hmm.

I thought I gave them the same consensus, but I deemed sig "could possibly be scum." It mean's "IDK." If you remember, I wasn't even confident enough in my Long Con analysis to leave my vote on him.
Lunalee wrote: Thu Jun 21, 2018 3:11 pm From what I see of nutella's posts, she is very set on getting speed lynched. And speed is trying very hard in this game, which makes him a threat to town mafia. I don't like that look on nutella. She also seems needlessly concerned with the King Ramses sock puppet account. At this point I don't see a reason to be concerned with a sock puppet account that posts random weird videos. And she's voting Lapluie, who I'm also looking at. So they are probably not team mates.

Lapluie looks like low-hanging fruit to me right now. She had a bit of a slow start, and appears to be struggling to keep up. I don't have reason to think she's not town, and I don't want to lynch her today, but I'll definitely be keeping my eye on her.

In fact, after looking at lapluie's posts, if just makes nutella seem that much more scummy for jumping from speed to lapluie. It's like she realized speed wasn't going down easy, so she found a easier target.
This post though does ring true as far as what I know about Luna's town meta. It's a perfect 1:1 replica of her town thinking if she is not actually town, at least as I understand it.

The tinfoil is strong with this one. The tinfoil, pending further discussion, says Luna is on a scumteam with Long Con and they're playing a long con of their own by sacrificing him to earn our trust, and Luna was the point man carrying it out. The evidence does not directly confirm the tinfoil though and I have to say there are proooooooobably more town points than scum ones.

If you need this much tin foil to see me as scum, then it is a far reach. I recommend you take it off.

Lunalee has earned a RED BADGE OF COURAGE (BUT POTENTIALLY RED IN A REALLY BAD WAY, LIKE RED = SCUM)

Re: [Day 3] Courage the Cowardly Dog Mafia

I do not have as much time to do stuff in thread today as I would like. So here's my thought-vomit post, hopefully followed by a competent vote:
I notice Colin seems like the popular train. I may trust the suspicions there and join it.
Vompatti is voting for Sig. I did suspect Sig yesterday, but he has responded to stuff since then, and I don't want to lynch him yet.
Why no one suspects nutella anymore when she was almost lynched on day 2 is a bit confusing to me. Did we just reason that suspicion away?
I don't know if I trust INH anymore. His hot-tub of trust seems like an excellent mafia ploy to "buddy" with the towniest of townies, and avoid getting lynched.
Lapluie feels like a low-poster lynch (unless she's actually done more today, and I missed it), and I don't think the scum team would be so apathetic to have two low-posters on it (Long Con and Lapluie). But if so, that's sort of unlucky for them.

I feel like regardless of my vote, Colin will probably get lynched today, and I'm okay with that. So I'm going to place my vote on INH for now because I don't have a good gut feeling on him. If you people change your mind on Colin you can join me.

Re: [Day 3] Courage the Cowardly Dog Mafia

speedchuck wrote: Sat Jun 23, 2018 9:22 am Could it be that Juliets death was the result of a redirect?

I guess nobody can answer that, but it needs to factor into our analysis. It's possible that one of the town players just killed a scum by finding another scum and redirecting them. Or even making them self-target, if it can do that.
I don't think that's very likely. Also the redirect role says:
"Hangs out in space, casually swinging his racket at various objects. Redirects every Night any power a player of his choice is targeted with to a random second player."

But I don't know why Juliets would have been targeted.

Re: [NIGHT 2] Courage the Cowardly Dog Mafia

Thanks for the detailed analysis speedchuck.
I want to look into sig. I didn't get the best feeling from his posts during/after the Long Con lynch, so I'm going to tin-foil that he's LC's team mate for a minute and see what that would look like.

He does vote Long Con, but it looks like he could also be hoping LC comes in and gives a defense so he has an excuse to move his vote

the LC/sig interaction where LC shames sig for acting like Epi. Colin points out that it could be a team mate interaction

Sig's response to INH.
Side tangent: Sig is in favor of lynching Ramses. According to Rico's role post, it says that both the civs and mafia "must possibly defeat King Ramses" I had missed this before, so it looks like it is possible that the sock puppet account is linked to a player, and the way to defeat King Ramses is to lynch that player.

Sig comments that it would be incredible if both LC and nutella were scum, because what are the chances, right?
I don't think it's likely, but if nutella, LC and sig were on a team together, this would be hilarious.

Sig is suspicious of my vote on nutella
Maybe it's just because I was riding off this high of helping get a mafia lynched, but this post just felt like cold water. I know I should have switched my vote back to Long Con to get "ultimate town cred" but I didn't, because I'm usually hesitant when it comes to lynches. Either way, at this point I have become a minor threat to mafia, and if sig is LC's team mate, he would want to frame anything I do as suspicious to get me lynched.

Decides to move on from INH because no one is buying it.
Could be a scum-tell to pursue a certain player, then back off when it doesn't catch on.

Final consensus on sig: could possibly be scum. I'm not ready to lead a lynch on sig tomorrow, but I will keep my eye on him.

Seemed a little cheap, especially when she was the one who helped construct the LC case in the first place. Nevertheless, I feel like her head is in the right place, so I'm willing to add her to the TUB-TEAM.

Asks speedchuck and Kylmii why they voted for him (on what I assume was the day one poll?).

Overall feel on Long Con: He seems lazy in this game, and not very helpful. I give him a read of probably scum.
Have you familiarized yourself with DDL’s ideas about the screaming?
I found this post, but it still seems inconclusive and bit far-fetched to me.

Sorry for the "scray" post, but Marmot and I both suspected Niju for the same reason. She dispelled those suspicions with her response, so I don't want to lynch her now. So why not coordinate with Marmot when we were both on the same lynch train?

I'm sorry you don't trust me, and that is understandable. But your suspicions of me sort of confirm to me that you're town, which gives me reason to trust you.
You wanna clear up a bit about why you suspected niju in the first place? I didn't quite get Marmot's initial accusation (in terms of why that it was scummy), and it'd be nice to hear another player that agreed with him talk about it a little.
Sure, here was my initial suspicion:

@Fractal Welcome! And same question I asked Niju
Hey! Indeed - I took some months off from mafia due to trying to be Superwoman at work and home. But I am on break, and am in need of a distraction from other important things :shifty:

I'll be honest - I'm never a fan of the question "what's your meta?" Your intention may be to get people talking into the game (and hey! It has! For me!), but it also backs people into a corner, regardless of alignment. Either someone you don't know makes up some bullshit, or the player you know is stuck playing their "meta" (or out of their "meta") when perhaps they're trying to, y'know, not do that. It boxes people up, maaaaaaaan :daisy:

But because I'd like to think (and I actually work at, or not work at, whichever works best) that my metas are pretty similar regardless of alignment, I'll answer your question with just that - I talk when I feel like it. I'm busy all the fucking time, except when I'm not, and it'll happen during this game, even though it's summer, because I always find something to stress about. I'm a creepy Blooper that people can't decipher. And I like it that way.

Bloop.
Nice to meet you Nijuukyugou! And thanks for the meta introduction, but I am wary of people who claim to have difficult-to-decipher metas. It looks like you've just placed your safety net out in case you look suspicious.

Based on behavior? I do feel a little weird about Luna buying into the idea of a random lynch so easily. Seems like it could be taking the easy way out. As a matter of policy I’d kinda rather get rid of someone who isn’t attempting contributions (no-posters) but that’s not ideal either.
It's a better vote than random-voting.

Statistically, if you look at the odds of a properly balanced mafia game, Town wins by randomization and roles more often than they do if hunting. The latter is susceptible to being fooled. The former is not.

However, odds of victory do not matter. We are here to play mafia, not roulette. Victory means nothing if we didn't hunt it down and strangle it.
So who do you recommend we hunt down and strangle today?
