Re: Grasslands [Sign-Ups 13/13]

Not sure what the issue is with explaining strategy prerand. You aren't going to be able to read me based on whether or not I explain strategy. If you're town you should be happy that someone who you know doesn't have a scum role card (because it's prerand) is explaining what they think is the best strategy to help town out. And if you're scum then you don't really have reason to be that unhappy because like, were you really counting on town not finding that strategy anyway?

Re: Grasslands [Sign-Ups 13/13]

That just makes it regular voting with slightly more power given to Tammy then.

Re: Grasslands [Sign-Ups 13/13]

For example, let's say Sam the Scum is the player everyone agrees on to be the exe for the day (via pseudovoting) and Tammy the Town is the player everyone agrees on to be the most trusted player for the day. Everyone is then instructed to vote themselves, except Tammy, who votes Sam. That means Tammy has 0 votes, Sam has 2 votes (Tammy and themselves), and everyone else has 1 vote through the selfvote. So the 3P is Tammy and Sam, scum sends an additional person and I don't think it matters who. Tammy writes Sam as the exe choice, and everyone else agrees to confirm Tammy's kill order.

With coordination, that would allow us to brute force a regular voting system achieved through town consensus even with the unique mechanics. There is some flexibility - for example Tammy can go rogue and kill the third person in the Grasslands if they wish - but that is okay since Tammy is trusted anyway, and the choice is public so they can't get away with openwolfing, they have to account for their actions. It could be the right choice of Sam does something in the quicktopic that makes Tammy really inclined to townread them, and shoot the third person. Also, this methodology means that Tammy, the most trusted person, is protected from the nightkill, which is good for obvious reasons.

Also I think it's correct to force players to reveal all quicktopics at the first available opportunity under threat of policy exe - I don't think there's many scenarios where town would wish to conceal information like this.

Re: Grasslands [Sign-Ups 13/13]

As loath as I am to ruin the unique nature of this voting system, I wonder if it might be optimal to just brute force it down to a regular voting system (since I vaguely suspect that's better for town, and certainly easy for people to play in because they're used to it) by simply coming to a town consensus with pseudo-votes etc. on who to exe, voting that person to get them into the 3P, then allowing the most trusted player (with 0 votes) to select the consensus kill and voting their kill to be verified.

I think this might single-handedly eliminate the Syndicate game bias towards scum wins. That is a really powerful mechanic for town.

Anyway, I'm in.
