Good morning all and welcome Scirrus!

So those tildes under Powers. Back in the old, old, old days that represented text that we were supposed to try and fill in to discover what was being said (in this case what powers are in the game). Anyone else remember the tilde exercises? I think I'll ask G-Man what the deal is and ask him to respond in the thread.

This post feels a bit wordier than it needs to be. Stressing that she’s going to ask G-man feels like she’s going out of her way to demonstrate her forward-thinkingness. But that’s more of a mild ping for juliets than it would be for others.

I was just trying to explain it clearly because I knew most people wouldn't be familiar with it. I'm not sure what you are saying about forward thinkingness but that's ok. You can explain later if you still have issues with it.

I am curious about [mention]Dyslexicon[/mention]'s opening post though. Dizzy can't help himself, he automatically scum hunts. I have some impressions of town vs null but let me look back over the entry posts before I say who because I know your next question will be "why?".

Ok so I have a town impression of novaselinever because those quick posts with initial impression reads and his quick funny posts (crabs have 10 legs as a reason to vote for 10) are what I remember about town nova.

I have a town impression of Scirrus because his posts feel free of concern about how he looks even though he is new to most of us.

I have a town impression of 112 because she has already called a behavior wolfy so she is already on the lookout for things and I liked her explanation of how she hunts scum. It sounded genuine to me.

I have a town impression of Dizzy but would like to know about the scum hunting thing.

Everyone else I just don't have impressions of one way or the other yet.

Oh you know, thats true. You could legitimately scum hunt in that game which is probably why your scum play in that game looked like your town play in other games. I didn't consider that. My impression of you here then is town.

[mention]Scirrus[/mention] regarding Sloonei and nova, I thought they were asking me for early reads but they both clarified they were only asking for impressions. I just misinterpreted what they originally said.

Regarding Sloonei, my naked impression was towny but we played a game recently where I read him as town all game (our Game of Champions) when he was really scum so I kept him in my null pile because he can fool me. He reminded me here though that there were two mafia teams in that game so his behavior was to scum hunt just as if he were town in that game and that's probably why I was fooled for so long. That made me feel better about my town impression of him here so I changed him from null to town impression.

Regarding Dizzy, yeah I'm not worried yet. He mostly has just made me laugh because he's just Dizzy. I agree that his reason for saying he wouldn't be scum hunting will reveal itself eventually but that doesn't mean I'm not curious and shouldn't ask for the reveal early.

Also, I think it was you who asked, some of us use scum here, some of us just call mafia "bad" or "baddies", some use mafia, and some may use wolf but that's less common. Use whatever you like. Also, we many times use "civ" for town.

In most of the games I have played with him he is not a low poster though I seem to recall sometimes he doesn't go all out right at the beginning. I would not say high posting is AI for him - my memory is he was posting up a storm to keep me from suspecting him leading up to our F3 with Lexi in Inception where he was bad and he also posts a lot as town.

Do you mean her finding Sloonei as wolfy or something else? I went back to her post about how she forms reads and what she does as town and didn't see anything that was inconsistent in her posts. What am I missing?

Ok, so it's maybe not the way you would have communicated it. When it comes to me communications try to keep in mind I try to be clear, so at times you may find that wordy or repetitive or too much unnecessary information. It's just my communication style.

Is Soneji always this quiet? It's been so long since I played with him I can't remember.

Ok, thank you for explaining. Do you tend to think Sloonei is off or strange when he's mafia in more normal games?

I get what you mean about Dizzy, although personally I don't think he's likely to reveal anything before he's ready bc I get the curiousity. I just wondered if you found something off about it.

(A multiball game as town sounds like hell lol. I think I might have played one ever, but I was recruited so lol)

What I remember of scum Sloonei in a non-multiball game is he is more silent than he is when he's civ. It's been a long time since I've played with scum Sloonei other than GOC though so there may be some other tell-tale signs. I'll try to remember what game it was and take a look. He says he's playing more than one game right now I see so his quietness is a little harder to assess. I'm going to have to take another look at his posts though and question my own town lean on him given how many people are saying he is scum.

(And yeah, I find multi-ball tough.)

Well, Epi is a tough one. He will tell you he doesn't have a specific "town" or "scum" way of playing and that may be true but I've had some success reading him correctly as town. I erred though in GOC reading him town when he was scum (I did not have a good game this year in GOC). One thing I learned from that game is when he argues illogically he is likely to be scum. He is a tough one to read.

Dang, I hate to see nova go, I haven't played with him in ages.

In the beginning Sloonei was posting, throwing out thoughts and prods just like I'm accustomed to with civ Sloonei. His comment about me bothered me a little not because he suspected me but because of the reasons. As you pointed out I felt he should have known better. But, Sloonei is a power player and I couldn't see voting to lynch him over that.

In my post a little earlier today though I said I was going to take another look at his posts as people I respect think this is his scum meta. I will do that right after I finish catching up.

Not excusing him, but there's a world where jack hosting the jack of jacking off has him jacking around too much to post today and there's also the jack attack that happened in corrupt that may have jack jack back from the lines of attack that we normally see as whack.

But Jack's game is not going yet so he's not yet hosting unless he's hosting somewhere else or I'm mistaken. What was the "jack attack" that happened in Corrupt that might have changed his play style? I don't have a firm opinion on him yet but it does seem odd that he's not posting more.

112 is good but I'm not as sure as I'm not used to them.
Sloonei is likely bad and in contrast Epi is likely good.
I'm open to Dad being added to my list of nicknames.
Jack being mia is nbd for the moment.
Nanook is somewhat sketchy.
I'm not going to pretend that I can ever read LC.

It's a mixed bag here. Remember Inception where Master Radish was a 3P? We left him alive the whole game. I can't remember right off the bat what his wincon was but I think he could win with either faction. I think in his case he proved his usefulness to the town by killing Eva and maybe thats why we left him pretty much alone. Then in GOC Tranq was 3P and I think he too could win with either faction, correct me if I'm wrong on these somebody. To your point though 112 both Radish in Inception and Tranq in GOC won with the mafia.

I'm not sure what to do about Dizzy. He has died in the last several games I've played with him or seen him in in the first two days, and has been town. My opinion of him is if he has the choice of playing to win with either faction he would choose town so I'm inclined to let him live today even though I was brought up in the "kill the 3P" school. If he lives and there are two town kills tonight though my vote would go to him tomorrow. I have to acknowledge though I may be letting my personal feelings about him dying so early all the time get in the way of my game thinking.

I just read through Sloonei's posts. He posted exactly 4 times yesterday (Tuesday) and hasn't posted at all today. That's not looking good. I understand he's playing another game but he's got no time at all to post in this one on the day we have EOD? I don't like it, the only question for me is whether MP7 is right and we should give him another day because his value if he's town is high. (Is that +EV? Still not 100% sure on how that term is used)

Other than Sloonei, I'm looking toward LC or Soneji for a vote. Since LC and Sloonei already have some heat I'm going to throw a vote Soneji's way.

I'd also like to hear some more from [mention]TonyStarkPrime[/mention]. I moved that slot back to null from town until I can get a good feel for him.

I had the impression novaselinever was town based on his behavior but I just don't have enough behavior to continue to support the slot as town. I realize you have only been here a short period of time and I'm sure there will be enough behavior soon to decide whether to continue to read the slot as town. All it really means is give me some thoughts on your current reads and what's going on in the game so I can reassure myself.
