I'm glad you're still alive, because I gotta ask you, who do you think is WW now? You are the other likely candidate for a NK after buying 3 new properties, so I imagine you are also worried about this. I've got a list pretty narrowed down already. DF was my first thought for a vote, and even though I'm 100% certain, he would not kill tonight so he is not an immediate threat.

I guess it died with her, since it couldn't save her from a lynch. I was pretty certain that the RRs didn't have BTSC. Actually, if she did, she probably would have given B&O the other properties to her partner before she was lynched.

I could be wrong, maybe in the board game you mortgage properties but still own them, just don't collect rent while they're mortgaged... and then you can subsequently sell to the bank and open it up to buyers. I'm just not sure, let's just wait for boo to clarify before thinking any thoughts.

Well, my original thoughts to think were centred around you lying about the mortgaging, because I thought thoughts regarding the mortgaged property showing up for purchase.

Now I'm thinking I was misremembering the rules, and I'm probably wrong, but some clarification would be best either way. Did boo let you know when your death was imminent that you can do that? Or was it your idea?

Also, it seems TH is not a Red. Although now he IS a red, given that he has Illinois with a hotel. What a complicated world!

In the actual game, as far as I know (it's how I've always played at least) mortgaging just works as flipping over the card, getting the value on the back from the bank (half of what you pay for it), and keeping it. Then if you ever have enough money, you pay back the bank, and flip it back over. While mortgaged, you don't get to collect money for it. And before mortgaging, any houses or hotels have to be sold off.

It works pretty much the same way here (the even build rule applies to downgrading as well as building).

I would think that TH (and his team) would have had to sell Hotels to make it work, at least downgrading to one or two houses on each. I thought there were 6 hotels available before this night was over.

Shouldn't we be seeing some changes there? You have to sell off houses and hotels before mortgaging, so they should be showing up as available.

TH has been suggesting that Bass was his teammate. If that is true, then WW has his property, and since TH must downgrade evenly, he would be stuck at 4 houses with WW blocking him. Also the market has not changed since the beginning of Day 9, so TH could not have downgraded, even after the current cycle. Same deal with Illinois, as you said. The market hasn't changed, so he hasn't sold hotels.

Yes, TH has bought properties, he just bought 3 for $1 each, and if he does still have a partner (or even two) alive, then I'm sure he was able to collect the necessary cash via trades, etc. With as quickly as they built hotels on pink, I bet he does have a partner alive somewhere, not including the Bass reincarnate.

I'm not entirely surprised. He's stated that all his teammates are dead, and I think I've made a decent case proving that wrong. I haven't pressed to figure out who it could be.

And for all we know, he could have been a mere $5 short. But LC I rechecked his posts, and not once did he describe selling anything. That must be what you and I have put in our heads. He's repeated that he mortgaged properties.

When you mortgage a property you get half of what it cost to buy that property. For example board walks cost $400. So if you mortgage that you get $200 from it.

Oh that's right... I was confusing what you PAY when you land on it for the price of the property. My bad.

So it would just take five or six Boardwalks to survive the $1100 cost. More properties needed when you start considering that there's only one Boardwalk, you know?

He could have had any amount of money to start though. Maybe he had $800 and just had to Mortgage a little bit. I'm not even pushing for his lynch today, I'm willing to believe the DFaraday roleblocking story... and I predict that it will be a DFaraday landslide today.

The neatest solution would be to do exactly what they did to me yesterday. Make Long Con or MM have 4 more votes than the real lynch candidate (in today's case, DFaraday perhaps), so that they have to use the +5 votes to save themselves. That's hard to coordinate though. At least we got rid of the inactives, but there are still some players who can't be counted on to vote before deadline.

If LC or MM are still around when there's only 6 or 7 players left (or even one or two more, if they have teammates or people don't vote), then they will get to decide by themselves who gets lynched. And I'm not on either of their teams, so that definitely scares me.

We could also just straight up lynch one of them today. I wouldn't be opposed to a Long Con lynch, I think he's a red because I think Epi was his partner. But DFaraday seems like the obvious choice today.

We could also just wait and hope they get NKed. Baddies should be scared of them too.

It's possible, and I would be up for trying. It's hard to coordinate because we can't guarantee everybody will vote. Lorab and Bea have probably missed half the votes this game, and DFaraday himself only shows up every once in a while. So the numbers would be tricky. But it's possible. And I think it's probably worth it.

Well, another option is leaving them for another day and just making sure we have the voting power later and everyone agrees to vote for them, in the exact same scenario.

That way we don't have to worry about screwing it up today, we can just lynch DF, and maybe the baddies will kill LC and MM anyway.
