A look at Sockface's list of essentials.

I have listened to 82 of 350. (23%) This includes albums I may have only heard a couple songs from (typically via radio).

I have heard of 196 of 350. (56%) This includes bands/artists whose music I have not actually heard, but whose name I instantly recognize.

Some noticeable non-inclusions that are not standard pop/rock, as you have tended to avoid such artists aside from the major pioneers. Grateful Dead, Supertramp, Muse (I think you did include them but I forgot), Michael Jackson (such a large influence to ignore, even though he's pop), Uriah Heep, Procol Harum, Sex Pistols (Another you may have added, but I forgot), Thelonious Monk, and Art Blakey. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall seeing any of these on the list. And no I'm not bashing your list in the slightest. I'd just like to put it up for discussion if there was a reason for the omissions, or if I have just in fact overlooked those particular artists.
