Whatcha Watchin? (Spoiler Free)
Didn't see a general thread for this, so I thought i'd create one!
Currently I'm watching Joss Whedon's Dollhouse (episode 3). I went in blind, no clue what the premise was, but i'm loving it so far. I really appreciate the contrast of between the characterization and growth of the supporting cast versus the lack of growth of the protagonist.
After a quick google search, I learned the show got cancelled so hopefully it doesn't end on a cliff hanger!
(Btw, It's on netflix!)

Made - dollhouse is awesome! enjoy it. No spoilers - but the last season they did know about the cancelation. Things get wrapped up but you can tell how they shrunk longer arcs to fit everything in.

I'm not really watching anything at the moment! I'm in an awkward phase of nearly every show I watched being finished for good. I just have Doctor Who for now and Supernatural when it comes back in October.

I think you will like it. I was a bit unsure before I started it. I think I am always just a bit wary of sitcoms, but it really is pretty funny!Made wrote:I watched an episode in class last week, and almost started watching too. The Office is an awesome show. As an accountant, I imagine it's even funnier to me, but I can't imagine not enjoying watching it nonetheless.
Right now, I've been (re)watching Futurama (though I never saw the last couple of seasons before) whenever I need something quick to watch as a mind break. Too bad it got canceled (again), but I suppose it had a good run.

Re: Whatcha Watchin? (Spoiler Free)
I love Futurama. We had a marathon of it when I moved to England. Zoidberg is my favorite.
I'm also watching the current season of Boardwalk Empire as it airs. The first two episodes have been really good.
And I just watched episode 1 of Outlander. (I've read the book) It's ok so far but I am not sure how I feel about most of the casting. I pictured most of them so differently.

Futurama is so underrated, it is so much better than The Simpsons and Family Guy. Zoidberg, Bender and Professor Farnsworth are all amazing characters.
I just finished rewatching House of Cards (UK), as even Kevin Spacey couldn't keep me watching the US version. Just got a bit bored, but I'd recommend the UK show to anyone.

I've been watching the third season of Miranda (UK). My MIL said her the physicality of her humor reminded her of me, so I watched it and absolutely love it. However, I'm American and am forced to wait for its slow trickling release onto Hulu. I watch and rewatch the episodes; I love them so much.

season 3 goes downhill though, the end of it combined with most of the characters leaving left me too jaded to keep watching (plus enri says s4 is bad) but I might finish it eventually

Re: Whatcha Watchin? (Spoiler Free)
I only watched the first few eps of season 4. Nothing huge against it, it's just a completely different show at that point. Can't really top the original cast, and while it was a silly show from the beginning, every episode is just further and further out there.
Nothing as bad as the Nazi episode tho. Nope. Season 3 was alright but that seriously might have been the worst episode of television I've seen.

We're nearing the end of season 1.
It's hokey and contrived (and apparently, according to ABC, "true love" means lying and vandalism), but I think it's very well put together.

I'm loving it. I had the same problem; did you start with Season 1? Season 1 episodes are pretty weak, comparatively anyway, and it didn't grab me -- struck me as a poor man's The Office.Made wrote:Just started Twin peaks. Great show once you make it through the pilot

If you can just make it through those first six episodes though, they get better, and Season 2 it starts really kicking ass. The show benefits from a really great cast and it develops its own identity. Definitely worth watching, you could honestly skip to starting Season 2 and always go back and watch the rest of Season 1, I think.

Just marathoned Season 1 Orphan black tho. OMG. The thing i like about this show so much is that, while pretty trope/stock character heavy, I don't just like every main character, i want to be them. Not sure if the writing or Tatiana Maslany is more to blame for that tho.
Also naming my son Felix

A lot of good show choices! I loved Dollhouse. Paul Ballard was pretty much the coolest. And both the US and UK offices were good. Though I thought the US one went on a little too long and kind of ran out of good ideas. Right now I'm liking the Flash, Gotham, American Horror Story and oddly enough Jane the Virgin haha.

The Comeback is one of the best, most under-appreciated shows in television, and you should all be watching it. After it was cancelled in 2005(!), HBO brought it back this fall, and it's even better this time around.

I am in the middle of a Brotherhood rewatch. That show was on Showtime maybe 8 years or so ago? It only lasted a few seasons, but i loved it. It was loosely based on Whitey Bulger & his brother (as was the movie The Departed, which I also really liked, it's one of my favorite movies ever) and set in Providence, real working class gangster stuff.

Haha, yeah, don't we all? I always see actors from LOST as their characters from LOST, despite their different roles, and I know I do the same for other shows/movies as well.
