Actually, your reaction seems more fishy than his. I find that baddies like to vote early on, so they don't seem like bandwagoning. They find a small thing they can latch on to, and use it as a reason to vote. Granted, there are no really good reasons to vote on the first day, but I don't think I like the way you just jumped on him like that.Long Con wrote:I didn't read DH as specifically targeting you with that statement. I think all the early votes today are weird. On Day One, more than any other day, we need as much time as possible to pick up on subtle pings.

It was directed at both yourself and Metalmarsh. Both of you pulled early votes, with identical reasoning (even if your reasoning had slightly more merit than Metalmarsh, since I assume you voted for him not for "no reason" but rather because of his vote.)reywaS wrote:Can I assume since you responded with this 7 minutes after I voted for metalmarsh that this is directed at me? He voted quite early and gave a terrible reason for doing so. You voted quite early and parroted his reason, I'm guessing as a joke. I found that situation funny.
I wouldn't go so far as to say either vote was a legitimate attempt at playing the game, though. If that were either of your intentions, you probably would have waited a bit to throw down a vote.

DH's post was a continuation of the "straightforward mafia tactics" talk that you speak of, the way I read it. If you had never responded the way you did, I don't think anyone would have said "Weird that rey didn't respond to DH's allegations". But you got up in arms immediately about it, and I thought that was unnecessary.reywaS wrote:I'll just be direct. I think you fabricated a reason to vote for me. The fabricated reason of being defensive. The fabricated evidence being that DH had a whole slew of other posts he could have been talking about when in fact the conversation in the thread at the time was all pretty much straightforward mafia tactics talk. I didn't see anything that I would consider any type of day 1 tomfoolery. Maybe mafia has changed during my recent absence.

If I got up in arms about it, LC, I would be badgering DH about the comment instead of just making the 1 post. If my up in arms-ness was just in a single post, I would think that single post would be a good deal longer than what it was. Up in arms, to me, indicates making a federal case out of it. Not almost immediately moving off of it.

Do you have Federal Courts in Wales? A Federal Case would be a bigger deal than a local case. Not sure why, maybe the feds have stiffer penalties? Its a common phrase where I grew up.Snow Dog wrote:I'm not familiar with it.
