Went ahead and voted DF. I hope we're onto something here but I wish we could have heard more from him.

I agree on Snowy. I don't trust or distrust him right now.
I don't feel confident about DF either, but I do think the points made against him have been legitimate.

You're right, you did say Boom not answering questions was suspicious. My b, I misread.MovingPictures07 wrote:But I did say that Boomslang's not answering questions concerned me.Russtifinko wrote:Well there's that and his lack of baddie hunting (though heck, you could accuse me or any number of other people of that). There's also refusal to answer questions, but right before my post you posted that you didn't think refusal to answer questions was suspicious so I left it out. :PMovingPictures07 wrote:That's interesting...Russtifinko wrote:Congrats, zeek! That's amazing news!
I want everyone to know I survived the Birthday Curse. Mostly because there wasn't a lynch or NK yesterday, but I still feel like I dodged a bullet.
Sorry all, I have been more occupied lately than I anticipated. The poll time is also proving tough, since I work 8-5 and then have to Skype my girlfriend before she goes to sleep. So I'm mostly logging on just around when things are ending.
Anyway, I'll try catching up as much as I can over the next few days. I've been able to read about a page at a time, but you're all posting about 5 :P.
As far as thoughts for now, I'm leaning Boomslang. It looks to me like zeek (I think?) cleared Made, and I'm inclined to give DH a bit more time to be DH before I decide on him. Boomslang has been known to be rightly lynched early, iirc. (At the very least he's done it once, in MOTU.) He also wanted to lynch non-participants Day 1, which is always a major potential baddie move in my book.
However, I admit to ignorance of what the case on DF is. So if someone could be so kind as to enlighten me before the poll ends I'll consider that as well when I log back on from Skyping.
*placeholder (and potentially final vote) for Boomslang*
Linki: Gaah let me post!![]()
You know Boomslang RL like I do, why did you vote for him? You said he wanted to lynch non-participants D1, is that the only reason?
The case on DF... TH had some really well illustrated points, and I've been saying for a while that his D1 vote for MM smelled opportunistic, and his refusal to comment on either LC or DH even though he previously said he was wary of DH seemed odd to me.
I agree with timmer that it's not a super strong Day 3 case, but none of the others I've seen are any better. Now, allow me to play Devil's Advocate on your DF case. You said in Boomslang's case that not answering (timmer's?) questions wasn't suspicious, but DF not answering questions about DH or LC is. That seems like a double standard to me. Especially if you asked him in one of your larger posts, because I know I've missed questions from you in big posts before and that I'm not the only one.
You've said opportunistic twice, but could you elucidate what you mean by that a little more? To me, slowly backing off of Made is just good mafia. I learned the hard way in Zelda that if you flip-flop too fast on people, no one will trust you and you'll lose. So I don't find that weird.MovingPictures07 wrote:Additionally, DF's suspicion of Made struck as equally opportunistic, and his most recent sentiment is that Made is still a suspect for acting "weird" even though he says he's less suspicious.
None of this to say that you're wrong about DF, just that the case on him seems no stronger than the one on Boomslang to me.
I would be interested to see the specifics of the opportunism you're alleging, though.
I've said opportunistic because it really seemed like DF was drumming up a reason to vote for MM.MovingPictures07 wrote:If someone can correct me re: Boomslang, I'm all ears. But frankly, while I have no idea what his alignment is, he has consistently read genuine to me and I do NOT get the suspicion on him at all.
The only things that have made me nervous about Boomslang are a lack of suspects/baddie hunting and his ignoring of answering certain questions/posts occasionally.
I don't understand. What's flip flopping about Made? DF said he thought Made was lying. But it's been shown that Made was NOT lying.
Who cares what's good mafia? You should post exactly what you mean. As a civilian, what do you have to lose?
If the case on DF is "no stronger", then is it weaker? I don't understand your wording here.
Your post really confounds me. I'm pinged by it.
In addition, why did I deserve the wand?
As to DF on Made, I'm saying he's NOT flip-flopping, and that I can totally understand why he wouldn't, because in my experience flip-flopping is the fastest way to make people ignore everything you say, and possibly lynch you. So you have plenty to lose as a civ by flip-flopping, like the game.
And I'm not saying the DF case is weaker, I'm saying exactly what I meant - no stronger. I think they're equally weak, but my gut leans Boom so that's where my vote goes.

Re: The Syndicate 2014 Game of Champions [Day 3]
okay, so I have 5 minutes to vote. I honestly thought it was about 6:30 right now and not 7:30. I've been in pain with a sore throat/ear ache and taking care of sick kids for two weeks straight (so very little sleep)....I am just not fully aware at this point. So..I think I am going to purposely not vote. Is that bad? I don't have time to read and my 2 year old is begging me to wipe his nose atm. "Mommy, I have snot" Sorry guys. Looks like there will be a clear lynch whether I vote to not.
Banners are cool, but a pain to scroll through so...
I've won a lot of games. I've hosted some games. The end.

Yeah, that's true. That's what I did on Made. I'm just saying I can see an angle where someone wouldn't do what I and others did, so it's not suspicious to me personally.MovingPictures07 wrote:No worries.Russtifinko wrote:

Oh! And as to why you deserved the trophy: you won the most games this year. And you always participate when you can. Very champion like. I didn't have anything in terms of people's alignment to go on, so that seemed like enough. And, like I said at the time, it didn't matter anyway - you had 9 votes already I believe. Also we're on a baddie team together.

Re: The Syndicate 2014 Game of Champions [Day 3]
The Young and the Unresponsive
When DFaraday sat down for the Sorting Hat, the Sorting Hat said, “The Danger Room.”A whirlwind emerged from the hat and began drawing the Champions within its vortex.
Darkness surrounded them, but not for long. Lights all around clicked on as a large computer booted up. It was the Danger Room computer.
Having gone first, DFaraday’s body was unresponsive; someone must have landed on him.
The Danger Room computer scanned the body of DFaraday. “Initializing scan. Done. Identifying features. Done. Matching...done.”
An old black and white image appeared on the screen.

DFaraday has been lynched. He was Vince McMahon.
++++

The Danger Room computer lit up further. “Before we begin today’s exercises, a prototype replica of Cerebro is ready for trials. A Person may use this device to imitate telepathy.”
“Please vote by PM this time,” A Person said, and teleported away.
It is now Night 3. You have 23 hours to submit your PMs.

Is that what we're doing? Voting by PM for someone to receive the helmet? I wasn't sure if the "vote by PM" thing was referencing tomorrow's lynch.
I would like the helmet, but if someone else who I trust wants it I'll vote that way.

YES!!!!! BIH DFaraday! Hope to play a game with you again soon though!
So, interestingly, that's the role that has a received vote of negative # of members on his team... so if he hadn't won by a landslide, he likely wouldn't have been lynched. Does this mean that his teammates were waiting to see what would happen and then bandwagoned onto him or voted someone else?
I also think DF flipping bad makes DH look worse. This is because DF and DH both tried to push Made just a bit at the start of D3 AND because DF voted for MM in the tied lynch between MM and DH on D1.
And since I received the wand, I'd be open to considering someone else for the helmet, though I'm hesitant to give it out nonetheless.

@Epi~ could we give it to a dead person? Like could it amplify MMs self protection powers so that they could be used retroactively? I still feel pretty bad about getting him lynched, and if I can help him I want to.

It also might explain why so many votes were missing. Since it was headed for a landslide, his teammates might have chosen to simply not vote at all.MovingPictures07 wrote:So, interestingly, that's the role that has a received vote of negative # of members on his team... so if he hadn't won by a landslide, he likely wouldn't have been lynched. Linki: we need to agree on someone for the helmet or else the baddies will end up with it. I'm good with everyone who has expressed interest in it so far, but I think we need to choose so the votes don't get divided. I might veto MP though since we should probably split up the prizes.

Actually, add Daisy to that list as well, especially since she trusted me with the wand, and I don't feel bad about her.
Usually, I feel really worried about her by now. :P
But I don't know if I'd consider anyone else.
What do you think about DH being bad?
I agree completely. Whom do you think, TH? And I'll take the helmet if folks want to give it to me, but I agree that someone else should get it. I just am wary of giving it to a baddie whom I'm mistakenly trusting.

Does this mean that his teammates were waiting to see what would happen and then bandwagoned onto him or voted someone else?
Linki: we need to agree on someone for the helmet or else the baddies will end up with it. I'm good with everyone who has expressed interest in it so far, but I think we need to choose so the votes don't get divided. I might veto MP though since we should probably split up the prizes.
What do you think about DH being bad?
I agree completely. Whom do you think, TH? And I'll take the helmet if folks want to give it to me, but I agree that someone else should get it. I just am wary of giving it to a baddie whom I'm mistakenly trusting.

You feel better about timmer than TH. Why? Just curious.S~V~S wrote:Of the names vetted, I feel best (in order) me () Timmer TH , leaving MP out.

Living only, please.S~V~S wrote:@Epi~ could we give it to a dead person? Like could it amplify MMs self protection powers so that they could be used retroactively? I still feel pretty bad about getting him lynched, and if I can help him I want to.
If not, i guess I could use a helmet myself

Re: The Syndicate 2014 Game of Champions [Night 3]
Day One, I suspected TH. I thought that was fairly obvious. I am still up in the air about DH. And I just felt the teammate vibe between the two of them, and TH keeps saying he trusts DH still. I have dropped both of them WAY down my list, but I am still slightly heebied by them. A tad.
But I still trust TH more than most people, so
I got the same feel for Timmer that i had for you; he feels solid, stable & srs to me. Like Timmer, not evil alt universe Timmer. But it is a marginal thing.
What I really want is to bring MM back, but I think that is a pipe dream.
Linki~ I expected that, but I had to ask

Yeah, okay. There are a lot of roles with three vowels. No real reason to list anything. The only thing we can conclude is that she is not DF's teammate which is really not revealing anything at all b/c why would Mr. Boddy try to force his own teammate.

Banners are cool, but a pain to scroll through so...

I would love to bring back MM as well, so hopefully there will be a rezz prize eventually.
Duly noted. I would be totally OK with a vote for timmer or you.
Everything TH has said this game has made a ton of sense, and I've not received bad vibes from him, but that in itself worries me just a bit for some reason.
Linki w/ Elo: For WIFOM reasons?

Wow, nice work DF voters! I'm pleasantly surprised.
I'll take the helmet gladly, but it seems like there's plenty of volunteers already.

MP, I'm not sure about DH. I agree there could be a connection with DF there, given how DF voted on Day 1. I plan to look into this more.

I can vote for TH, timmer or SVS (MP I only dropped you because you already won a prize). The three are pretty equal in my eyes, I haven't suspected them at all during the game.
Spoiler: show

No one on that team has 3 vowels, anyhow.

Yay, nice catch, y'all!
Dunno who I'll vote for for the helmet yet, but the contenders so far don't look too shabby.
Also, are vowels counted for words like "the," "of," etc. in the roles?

I counted them as written by the host, verbatim. Mr. Brown= 1 vowel.
