Exactly what about my suspicions seems circular to you Rox? I've been advocating against circular thinking, particularly in regards to Made.

What are your thoughts on that?

That day 1 vote is my typical don't know who to vote for playstyle. Nothing unusual there. I normally vote late and on this occasion it was very late.

Also, since Lily seems to have died out after a day doesn't that argue more for her being a Voldemort horcrux?

Timmer - great post about Snow/DH. I could be down tovote either of them tbqh.

DH - lemme pull quotes when I get home. Until I pull the quotes and you have responded I will not vote for you seems more champion-like.

Snow - why dont you stick it up your ass instead?

Long Con or whoever asked, yes i was talking about this game not another. The mad hatter cursed me on the night I got cursed twice. I figured this out when zeek referenced a "book" in connection with the hatter (I had to think a few minutes before I realized he was talking Alice in Wonderland). So I googled AIW for the words in the message I got and there it was, straight from the book. There was also another statement in the message that now in retrospect told me it was the Mad Hatter. So I think what MP was saying is my cursings happened at a time when INH couldn't have done them, maybe because he was dead. (Even though I said "them" there is only one curse from the Hatter. The other had to be from someone else).

Also, I'm not saying I believe SVS is bad but I don't see anyone else addressing that Lily Potter disappeared after one day. Is there a way to explain that that doesn't involve SVS? Generally when I discover something like this I'm all wrong in my thinking or missed something important in the discussion. Such as Snapes potions or horcruxes also disappear after one day. I don't know the books or remember the game well enough to remember that.

The role description for Voldemort says his horcruxes must be used each night and die out after use.

Nice post, timmer. I was going to do something like that myself but I think you put a better case than I would have.

I think voting off any of the people not playing is helpful right now. If the game gets to the point in which there's weak cases and nobody really stands out by all means lets start culling the dead weight, but right now it feels like a cop out.

I'm going to put my vote on DH and leave it up to someone to convince me he's not a Suit. If he flips that way, the last one is either Daisy or Snowy in my opnion. Both seem linked to him.

In regard to juliets' curse, Made was very quiet on the contents of his message. He said it involved a shape or some shit. How possible is it he was lying about his curse?
Snow Dog wrote:I do take responsibility for my vote but it UNARGUABLE that SVS influenced me.
I always want to believe you, Snowy, I do. Hence the rank bet I lost to MP in Who. But please show me a post showing this cause I can't find one.

Thanks for clarifying.

I think it makes sense for Lily to be around for one day whether it's Snape or Voldemort. They cast the 'Lily' spell the night before, and can post as Lily for the following day, or whatever. They have other spells to do the other nights, why would that spell effect hang around?

I actually thought Lily would hang around for a while as some of the extra non-playing characters in other games. I didn't realize at first she was a spell. But yes, through the conversation about this I agree it could be either but most likely Snape if it was an avatar of light.

Also, even if Hedgeowl is the Mad Hatter... why would we lynch her? It's not in anyone's win condition to kill the Mad Hatter, barring some secret. I'm especially surprised at MP for voting an Indy, for obvious reasons. What's up MP, is this a trolly jab of some sort? The Mad Hatter also hasn't killed anyone or really done any harm, beyond some forcing-curses or whatever.

And I agree with Zeek, people discussing voting for absent players is not helpful and makes no sense when those of us who ARE posting are discussing suspicions. And in my experience absent players are more often civ or bored indy anyway. Anyone pushing an absent player vote will get an increasing amount of :eye: from me the more they push it.

Linki LC, Im fine with DH today as well at this point.

So do you think Reys curse or similar posting effects could have been a horcrux? Or just normal night powers that last one day?
The only curse I remember of Rey's was the emoticon curse. I knew it couldn't be the silencers so my presumption was it was one of the others - and there are a lot of others with secrets and potions. I don't know if it was a horcrux, potion, or secret. I don't know if there would be a horcrux for such an everyday thing as a posting curse but then I don't remember exactly what a horcrux is. I think of it as a spell. Why would you ask about Rey's emoticon curse?

:haha:

Personally, I thought DH's theory was insane and proves to me he'll throw any idea out there to get attention elsewhere. I thought my insistent posts about no shows were evidently trolling, but I suppose not. :p

With that said, I do honestly think not showing up for a game, especially this one, is very unChampion like and INCREDIBLY annoying to those of who actually play. But Epig is running the game and I respect his treatment of dealing with nonparticipants.

But at the end of the day, I've said who my biggest suspects are, and I'd ideally be more than fine with a DH vote.

My Daisy and Hedgeowl votes were just to see what would happen. Lol. I am an outed Indy, guys, don't take me TOO seriously all the time. :p

Ebwop, I say 'most' because I know of one power that comes back over and over in this game. But MOST night powers only last one cycle in my experience.

And don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to vote out the no shows. I just agree that it's a total cop out if we're actually trying to catch baddies at this stage.

Honestly whatever. I'm fine with getting lynched in this game. My Hedge thing was not an attempt to get any attention anywhere.

If anything recent days just proves what I already thought. Mafia is no longer fun for me.

Don't get upset, DH, it's certainly an interesting theory. I just find it very unlikely, although I did entertain that writing a role where someone has to avoid the thread would be incredibly intriguing (but incredibly unconventional). I just feel like your gameplay this game has been very subtly pushing in a way that can be conceived as nefarious -- your change from suspecting Llama voters (Bass) to Dom during the Bass/Dom lynch after a Dom vote got traction, your Made is lying argument that almost got someone lynched due to being targeted by a power, etc.

I have considered that you've been genuine all game, which is why I keep going back and forth, but I keep going back to the thought that there's a very real possibility that you're bad. And you have possible connections to known and suspected baddies that could be proven or unproven after your lynch.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I especially always feel sad when someone says that and they're an engaging, participant player. I don't know what's going on in this game lately with people threatening to quit or not having fun, but I know mafia can be a very frustrating game. Especially when 5 people effectively aren't playing. But I don't understand how letting that defeat us or take the fun out of the game is constructive. I personally think Epig has set up an incredibly engaging game for all of us, and even if I lose now I have had a blast this game. But maybe that's just me.

I could give a shit if you think the Hedge theory has wings :haha: That's not what has me upset. I just don't have the stomach for the pile of mean shit that has been in the thread of late. Thats not the game I grew up on, thats not the game I love. And I've always been very clear about my thoughts regarding non-participation. To see it in a Champions game is just salt on the wound. Again, not the game I grew up on, not the game I love.

Its frustrating, and it shouldn't be. I want to be having fun and I'm not.

Oh right, i totally agree. The only reason I thought this one might be different is because it was another character. When I've run into this before, the game that sticks out is Inception where Tranq played an extra character, the character is around for more than one day. There have been other games with that mechanic, inception just sticks out for me. Your point is well taken. I asked the question, why hadn't people brought it up, and I'm sure this is why.

On another subject, as far as votes go I'm looking at Snowy. Timmers post was very well put forth to my thinking. I'm also looking at DH but its hard as I've seen him as civvie the whole game.

Sometimes it will naturally come out, but it can be contained if we just remember that this is a game on a message board forum that 99.99% of the population of the Earth has never heard of before. No matter how successful anyone is, it means just about nothing.

Dang. Lol.

I could also see myself voting for Snowy today, as I agree timmer made a lot of excellent points, but I've had suspicion of DH off and on all game, and Snowy not so much.

Timmer made a good case against Snowy (And I suppose myself)

While I can't see it as a case for us being teammates (we're not) I can see it as a case of Snowy not wanting to get blood on his hands? Maybe he knew he was damned if he did damned if he didn't, type deal. Wanted to try and pick the option with the least amount of blowback.

Except when it's lynching a Suit, DH, then he won't vote with the majority.

This is a good point, almost forgot about this.

And I do agree his D1 vote was opportunistic.

I'll be back later, but I could be convinced to switch my vote to Snowy for sure.
