In what scenario was my pocket declaration wolf motivated?

It's a fine strategy for a canny Wolf to declare themselves pocketed, in that it layers some reinforcement of the implication that you are Town. Without saying "Guys I am Town!", you publicly speak from a Town perspective. While blatantly declaring oneself Town could engender some dubious reactions, declaring oneself pocketed slips it in somewhat subconsciously, the Town self-declaration quietly waving for attention in words unwritten.

Further, such a declaration also carries a targeted factor, as you ironically pocket the very player you claim to be pocketed by.

Fuck. I forgot to check this. I work insane hours on the weekend. I’ve been working 10 hours so far today and still have 7 more to go. No one fought me / I didn’t do anything last night. I haven’t caught up yet. I’ll try to find a bit of time if I can manage a break in the next couple hours. If not, I’ll have to be attempting to contribute meaningfully while at the airport exhausted early tomorrow morning.

(verbatim was “pacified”) But I didn’t fight anyone at night, I’d have gotten a message asking what I do right? Unless I really don’t understand how this works because I didn’t submit any action at all during the day or night.

Tbh, fighting feels like giving extra role locks to wolves and watches to town that can only catch wolf roleblocks and townies being dumb.

But maybe a fair number of us have fighting based conditions, like the player who died if they lost a fight.

I tend to wait a bit to read Mac. He becomes clearer by D3 ish imo. His push on me felt too confident at first and he's a bit one track mind, but I think I'd expect scum Mac to bounce around more by now to imitate his town game, leaving me to consider he might believe it.
