I think if Roxy was bad she would have voted for Vomps in order to avoid standing out.

Re: [Day 5]: Film Directors.
Also re Llama, I have gone back and forth. I was fairly sure he was bad until his reaction to Vomps lynch. It was fairly solidified for me when he went after Blooper; he would not have done that IMO right after the Vomps lynch were he bad. But then he will say something that makes me go hmmmm.
Can you tell me just what I said that you are referring to? It's hard for me toxic stuff up on phone at work.

According to the above post, you are buying llama's story. I don't blame you, I am too.S~V~S wrote:I have an idea as to why, based on what llama said, although I could be wrong
Perhaps more people should take part in Mongooses Special Events, hrm?
This post came before the former quote. So you previously suggested that llama and I could be baddie teammates. You also suggest this immediately after accusing me of giving Made's case momentum. You're doing the same thing here.S~V~S wrote:Well, we now know MP rezzed BWT. This sounds very non committal and waffly and wishy washy. This post almost makes me think MM is his partner.
But I still think that bad Llama would have been too careful to take a leading role in yet another lynch after the vomps fiasco, so I am still botd with an eye on him going forward.
Linki, because that was how it felt to me.
I don't buy your Roxy explanation. Vomps was a foregone conclusion on Day 3. Lynches like that are near impossible to pick someone out of the crowd. The last voter on the wagon stands out just as much/little as Roxy or I.

And you are conveniently skipping the second half of that post where I said I ALMOST thought that. The part where i pretty much said the same thing I just posted.

What's the point in saying it if you don't intend it it? I get the feeling that you want to lynch llama, but you're waiting for someone else to push the issue so you can follow along. You've offered no other explanation for BWT being rezzed while calling mine lame.S~V~S wrote:Lol it is not an explanation, it is an opinion. I don't much care if you buy it.

I'm still of a mind to lynch Rico. I also don't like the fact that discussion for him seemed to just drop off the face of the Earth. So unless a better option pops up, I'm going in that direction today.

Also, I have to finish the workshop project I mentioned a while ago by the end of this week, so my presence will continue to be infrequent. In fact, I may consider taking today (February 10) completely off Mafia, to try to do as much work as possible. But in case not, I'll contribute as much as I can, when I can.

Ok, I'm pretty much caught up, though I did read quickly and might have missed some degrees of subtlety.
I think that in addition to low posters (Bass, DF, sabie, Lizzy) I'm interested in reassessing my view on the following players, who up until now I've been feeling totally neutral on:
daisy
Dom
MM
Rico

Re: [Day 5]: Film Directors.
Okay, I'm really starting to apply myself in the game. I went over Rico's posts, and the results are muddled.
He maintained a Vomps suspicion (like basically everyone else) for much of the early game, and briefly mentioned suspicion of SVS and Roxy in connection to Vomps.
Later on, after Vomps was lynched, Rico had something of a row with Dom over Dom's less than enthusiastic reaction to BWT's rezz. As someone who is always a bit leery of such things anyway, I don't see anything suspicious in Dom's behavior. Rico felt like he was pressing the issue a bit much, imo.
Finally, he has begun looking more closely at MM, noting that MM has contributed to civvie lynches (although that's pretty much all we've had), and questioning MM's suspicion of Roxy.
I need to look over Dom, MM, and Roxy to see how this all comes together.

Re: [Day 5]: Film Directors.
If that's going to be your reason, I could name a handful of players who've contributed to more civvie lynches than I have. Regardless, contributing to civvie lynches isn't a baddie sign. Voting patterns would be better to look at.DFaraday wrote:Okay, I'm really starting to apply myself in the game. I went over Rico's posts, and the results are muddled.

Rest in peace Timmer
hope your hand feels better.
MM, we cannot look at voting patterns, we cannot look at who voted for civvies, because we haven't lynched a baddie yet. So none of those data points have enough context. That is why it's so important we get a baddie, like RIGHT NOW. Otherwise we will be flailing around aimlessly all game until one by one we're all put out of our misery.
I have to admit I'm a little perturbed at how Roxy handled this past lynch. She should have been lynched and obviously wasn't, and I think a good chunk of us have an idea as to why, but I still find it odd that Roxy basically had no reaction to that lynch. It makes me think that her reaction played out behind the scenes rather than in the thread. I also don't agree with SVS's opinion that a baddie Roxy would have voted to lynch Vomps, because wasn't Roxy defending Vomp? So why would she vote for him, civ or scum?

I don't suspect MM, but I don't have any solid reasons why. In my opinion this doesn't resemble his baddie game, and I don't have much experience with his civ game, so that makes me think this is it.
I need to consider what you're saying about Roxy. I haven't ever picked up on that trend you mention. You're saying she doesn't defend other players when she's bad, which makes me want to look into whether that's true or not.

Lower on my radar. SVS, LC, and you.
Players I've watched but can't decide on: Rico and Made.
Rico hasn't been on my radar, but I've noticed his activity level has dropped over the last day or two (since the start of Donner Family). I'm studying for midterms now, but I want to do a full reread of him after work tonight.
As for SVS: SVS doesn't feel civ to me. She's been hypocritical. I think she is connected to Roxy (who I'm pretty sure is bad). She continues to deny cases or ideas I have brought to the table about other players, even calling one of them lame. Two things I feel very uncomfortable about. 1) SVS denies everything I say with no interest of accepting it. The one exception was this post which she used my reasoning to hop on the MP wagon. 2) People (namely BR) seem horrified that I would suggest lynching SVS. I don't know if this is actually a game-related read, or SVS is just someone we don't lynch. As I said to BR, if you have an alternative option bring it forward. I still think Roxy is the way to go today, but I'd vote SVS as well.

Oh, and LC seems like he is just playing from the sidelines, which pings me to hell and back. I've not seem him this uninvolved in a game.

Wait, what exactly are you saying that you have in common with Roxy here, SVS? That you guys both defend people you think are civs when you're civs?S~V~S wrote:I could be wrong, but this is something she and I have in common when civ.

Re: [Day 5]: Film Directors.
If you are suggesting what I think you are, I don't think Roxy would even entertain voting for vomps at all. Multiple times on Days 1 and 2, she set herself up for possibly voting vomps. This being the obvious one.S~V~S wrote:I could be wrong, but this is something she and I have in common when civ. I honestly do not think she would have bothered to defend Vomps. TH, what was your opinion on MM?
Roxy wrote:Odd choice is right like others have said about Sabie. I also think her save was either a Role blocker or she saved herself which seems unlikely tbh.
I know everyone is still talking about vomps - which after what went down with him near lynch end last time I could poss vote this way.
SVS - I do see what others are saying and your posts have that dismissive tone to them esp noted it during your last interaction with Ricochet and in response to llama. You did not actualy address MP's questions and though I have asked twice you never responded to my question I have asked after Teeth was lynched. I would to hear from you and would like you to respond to my previous question even though it is kind of dated now. I could vote for you.
I however am still concerned with Made. He hasn't even bothered to mention my suspicion nor respond or acknowledge it in any way. I would vote for you.

I think SVS is suggesting that Roxy is Godard (vomps message partner) since she defended vomps, because how else would Roxy be certain of vomps being civ while also being civ? If Roxy is civ and she knew vomps was civ, there would be no reason to entertain a vote for him.
I might be wrong about what SVS is insinuating, but that's how I read it.

I was asked about my opinion on this so here it is:Mongoose wrote:*Required Watching: Un Chien Andalou

well, the film is obviously surreal and doesn't have a "plot" but what it did have is a lot of great imagery. The most striking to me was the shot of the ants in the guy's (i am not sure how to refer to either of the male characters) hand. Another one was the scene where the guy was chasing the girl and dragging all the stuff behind him. The film doesn't seem to be "about" anything but I think a lot of it is at least meant to evoke ideas about subconscious desires. The groping scene and the shooting scene stand out in particular as examples of that. There was also what seemed like symbolism in the use of the striped box, but I honestly have no idea what. I thought it was interesting how at the end they find the smashed box and the other man's discarded clothes (another example of the subconscious thing?). The arrangement of the soundtrack was interesting too. The middle was dramatic and serious sounding, but it was bookended by lively dancable bits. It makes it feel as if it were some sort of dream sequence. Also I noticed lots of different kinds of cuts. The bicycle part in the beginning had a couple different kinds of takes being used in quick succession (that hurt my brain) and there was that sequence of match cuts between the shot of the ants in the hand to the arm pit hair to the...sea urchin? that I thought worked really well visually. Not to mention the cloud crossing the moon interspersed with the eye cutting. I'd not seen that before (just a gif of the eye cutting). Now that I've read a bit about the film that was apparently observation that inspired the film. Personally, I liked the film because it was surreal while allowing me to interpret it in a personal way without feeling forced. Normally I am not a big fan of that sort of thing but this was particularly well done. It sort of reminded me of some of vomp's writing, like Ellen's Oiled Vagina. Seemingly random on the surface, but with an undercurrent of normal (possibly repressed) human feelings.

I remember one game where Roxy was a baddie in a two-mafia setup, 3 baddies on each team, very similar to this game: TV Show Mafia on RM. I just went back and reread all of Roxy's posts from that game, and I must disagree with your opinion that Roxy doesn't defend other players when she's a baddie. She did it multiple times in that game. She also did NOT hop on bandwagons just to blend in; if anything she did the opposite.S~V~S wrote:I could be wrong, but this is something she and I have in common when civ. MM, I didn't say I was suspecting you. I was saying that's what Rico said about you.Metalmarsh89 wrote:If that's going to be your reason, I could name a handful of players who've contributed to more civvie lynches than I have. Regardless, contributing to civvie lynches isn't a baddie sign. Voting patterns would be better to look at.DFaraday wrote:Okay, I'm really starting to apply myself in the game. I went over Rico's posts, and the results are muddled.

Not sure why my opinion means so much to the two of you, you seem to have spent the whole day talking about it.
