Oh, right, that. Didn't honestly expect for Boyhood to receive an almost shut-out. Keaton, though... :sigh:

I'm very satisfied with the Oscars for once. Grand Budapest, Birdman, and Whiplash, my 3 favourite Oscar nominated movies, all did very well. I thought Boyhood would get Best Picture for sure, and I really hate Boyhood so I'm okay with that decision. :p

Fairly happy with the results as well. Most of the big ones were pretty obvious and as I predicted, except for Best Actor. Glad Big Hero 6 won second place Animated Movie (cause first was Lego Movie!)

Ok, so Sabie had no real on-topic posts, and then was replaced by A Person, who has had basically one on-topic post, plus two more discussing how he doesn't know how the Uwe Boll lock works. His one post is "I had wanted to vote MM but the thread was locked :( I've felt he was fishy all game."

So that's a likely place to put my vote.

Lizzy had a handful of on-topics, casting some suspicion at Llama, and voting Metalmarsh with no real reasons stated. Made has been much more active, with some real analytical posts on DFaraday.

Made, why did you look at the votes on Days 5 and 6, and call out S~V~S and Roxy, but not Ricochet or Canuck?
So we should look at low liers?

Interesting.

Why not?
I'm curious.
I had a theory earlier in the game that proved to be wrong, I think. Very early theory just thinking about who might be on a team together--

LC was one of those people.
So, why LC? Why should I vote LC instead of you?

I'm not bad, either, but the problem is I really don't know who is. I've been so wrong about everyone I suspected, that maybe it's time to start suspecting the people I've trusted. Maybe you? Mate Dom, who has done little but ask deflecting questions all game? Maybe the players who were replaced because their baddie teammates were desperate to drop the dead weight of no-shows? I dunno. I'm lost.

I know my head is on the chopping block today, but I'm a civ and ice played like a civ (i.e. blindly and without success) the entire game.
That is a statement that is very misrepresentative of my game.

Interesting.
It's one way to look at things. I'm just brainstorming about what might be "going on" in this game. The baddies have been very successful in shaping a lot of Civvie lynches. I think it's possible that they sat back and let us lynch each other, rather than taking an active hand in the lynches.

Plus, low posters are easier to summarize, and I'm a busy guy. 10:15am, that was just before I went and spent an hour filling buckets with water and carrying them to horses because the barn tap is frozen. Thirsty horses, man, I can't be going through 60+ posts for a case at that time of day! :noble:

Why makes you vote AP of the three replacements, based on what you said about him? Also, since AP replaced sabie, i.e. the only completely inactive player in this game, I'd also have to ask how can you discern from her complete inactivity (and also her N1 survival) that she was a baddie in hiding, therefore that AP too was now assigned that baddie role?

That's tough because the people I've trusted have been dying. :/

But I think I would be least likely to vote Vompatti, Made, and... Ricochet? I keep wavering on him.

That was a hard question. :fist:

Looking through Bass' posts I think he just has a gut feeling about Roxy. He also thought she was doing hard distancing with MM. I'll need to look into Roxy's posts next to figure out why he thinks that, but I'm happy to report it isn't the case.

TH, we have not done well this game. We've only lynched one baddie, and it's Day 9. How many are left, like 8 or 9 players? Surely the baddies have accidentally killed each other at some point, but it's really hard to know. A lot of the prevailing suspicions have ended up wrong, except for Metalmarsh. Canuck defended Metalmarsh quite a bit, so take that however you like. We need to know what the baddies have been doing to be at this point in the game in such a good position.

Metalmarsh was Uwe Boll, who locks the thread. He did do a couple of times, including during his own lynch when he was up 5 votes to 3 over DF.

Roxy was not above suspicion, so neither are you... she was a big suspect, actually.

TH, why don't you play devil's advocate for us, and go through Roxy's posts to make a case that she was a baddie? :eye: I think it's the best way for you to join the game. Make a good case, and then, if you can, make a better case for someone else. Maybe me, if you like.

Yet she suspected him for many days, no?

And considering you replaced her-- well... I'm beginning to think that Roxy had no say in the NK of SVS if she's on that team.

That does change things for me, that Roxy did end up getting replaced.

SVS's death now stands as something we should treat either as an obvious kill, after her gunning for Canuck as MM's teammate, or as a diversion.

Just like, as I've said, we should revisit Llama's death, in light of DF not actually having tried to push it and frame LC for it. Same reasoning: either an obvious kill or a kill to shut him up, after announcing he'll go for LC, or a diversion.

My feeling is that both teams want us to treat these as diversions, considering that we were completely wrong the first time, when we lynched Vomps1.0 for thinking FZ's death was an obvious kill.

I believe we can still turn this thing around my friend. What do you make of Canuck defending MM?
Hard times sometimes call for insane measures. I'm still on the fence about Canuck.
I'm feeling Canuck might be bad just because I was on the fence and then SVS died-- idk, man.
What does S~V~S' death have to do with Canuck?
It's a WIFOM cesspool of "would she? wouldn't she?"

Just so we've got our semantics clear whilst we're catching up Ol' Nippy, let the record show tht I did not *defend* MM so much as I failed to see any compelling reason to vote for him. It's a subtle difference, but an important one.

I'm sad that we can't vote for RoxNip today, because I really am starting to think that they're badbad....but I guess there are still about 4 billion other baddies gleefully rolling about in the thread, so I guess I just have to decide which one to vote for.

I think Sabie/Ap is my most likely vote today. I will NOT be voting for Bass, myself, SD/Vomps, or RoxNip (but only because I can't). All the rest of y'all are fair game. :noble:

I still don't get why we should lynch AP for doing little to nothing. Again. It's like saying the most inactive substitute for the most inactive player is the most likely baddie of all.

Flying under the radar is a tried and true mafia strategy. The civvies focus all their energy on the louder/more active people in the thread (because it is human nature to pay attention to those people, and because there is more substance there to build "cases" on), and the baddies lie low and go relatively unnoticed until the late game, when the numbers are so low tht they can't hide any more (like now) but by that point there's no way to make a real case against them because there's just nothing there (like now).

This is not to say that all low-participants are bad (that's obvioisly not the case), but flying under the radar is (for me at least) a point of suspicion rather than a reason to exonerate.

I fully understand the theory behind this and am not trying to exonerate AP or any of the low-liers; you may recall that I was gradually wary of Spacedaisy actually being such a player: busy in RL, occasionally online, yet unwilling to even pop in around here. This was the type of inactivity that seemed to me that potential teammates would also be ok with, while they act "louder/more active" in the thread.

What you said, however, doesn't really change what I meant: most inactive sub for most inactive player = most likely baddie. Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't reach such a deduction right now.

Not to mention that I'm noticing how the two players who are (individually) suspects in a WIFOM nominate AP as their easy choice to make.

Also, AP, kindly address this. Or anything.

Hi. I don't think I am trying to fly under the radar, I've just not been posting. If you want my thoughts on the game, I think I'll vote Long Con today. Normally I'm too scared to take risks because I so often end up killing civs, but we're in peril of losing so there is not much to lose at this point. LC was the one to start the recent crusade against low posters, and I think it's because we're easy targets at this point. If they kill off a couple low posting civs, they win.

My first list was an off-the-top-of-my-head response to reading LC's question. My second was after actual thought on the matter. ;)
