idk about ms specifically but on mu someone ran the stats on this and it doesn't actually bear out that way in the long run

yes theres something to be said for cutting off associative content early

but i really do not think that applies in this game when (1) we have already gotten three mafia in a row with little resistance, town is definitely dominant here even if there is a deeper wolf and (2) day 1 was fairly contentious, it's not like nicole was dropped as dead weight by her team immediately, there were other viable wagons for a while and she wasn't a done deal so i think that it is in fact worthwhile to read into the motivations/associations there

I'd look at dubz long before I'd look at nutella right now. It doesn't fit with what I know of w!dubz, but d1 nutella is basically never a wolf unless someone can demonstrate to me that she is a hard-busser.

Yes And also because I am specifically the most reluctant busser in the entire world. I always lose as scum because I fail to bus early enough for cred and/or pair myself with packmates who go down before me. So I literally cannot fathom just murdering Nicole for no reason on d1 and then not even using the resultant cred to powerwolf the hell out of the thread. To me this reads as a towny who got a pelt and keeps seeing the town flip scum, so there's no reason to work too hard.

I guess my question to you is, why can't we just work on our current POE, and if we have a misflip or two we get to see if v!nutella reveals herself? Surely she would become readable in a threadstate where we would actually need her.

I do understand that mindset, it's a problem that I have struggled with myself. This is precisely the kind of situation where a wolf who plays like nutella says she does is going to end up bussing a lot. In fact, one of the only games where I have actually bussed was a game a couple of years ago where I replaced into a wolf slot and found that gims had gotten a towncore going and the whole team was in the POE. I had nowhere to go, and after getting accidentally turned into a slot that looked towny after one of my partners acted sus about flipping me, I strongly considered making a push on that partner as the deadline was coming up because I just didn't know where else to go. I got a few moments to check in on the game and a town player had started a wagon on that buddy so I popped on with a comment about how that was exactly what I had been thinking about doing!

And that game is why I adopted a "powerwolf or go home" mentality because trying to slog through the next month after bussing the buddy who was actually active while I was stuck in a neighborhood having to try to constantly put up a show of towniness to gims, knowing I was probably doomed all along, was MISERABLE

Anyway the point of that was that I think d1 bussing is way more common and effective than you do. It's often been said on MS that it's actually better for wolves for one of them to get flipped on d1, they win those games a LOT

I hear you, but I think there is a wide difference between d1 bussing and d1 murdering your packmate for no reason. Again... begging for the Nicole wagon is enough to have that in your ISO. Why do it a second time if you don't sincerely believe it?

Wilgy is playing to his town meta from what I've seen of him

He was wolf in the last game and I was suspicious of him because he was different than the towngames I'd seen

He is perhaps even less present than those towngames but that's not the direction his activity went as a wolf

Plus as I noted at the time, he showed up d1 just before EoD and pushed the wagon to Nicole when he could've voted me (and was looking very much like he was winding up to do so until he didn't, which just isn't a very natural position for a wolf to take when looking at wagons that are town vs wolf)

I am town, pushing me is not something a town would do. If I am not town, the team is porscha/me exactly. Since porscha is shielding me it could be porscha+x. this is essentially the reason why i think u b eing low effort/disengaged is probably towny for u in the specific context of this game

What specific context is that, because to me it just looks like a "I don't even have reasons so I'm going to shrug and hope people read it as towny indifference"

well im talking about the context in which we've collectively killed 3 wolves in a row, which has fostered a gamestate where folks are less likely to put their full heart/passion into solving, since the game has been essentially autopilot

and i think the context of the gamestate explains why nutella comes off as bored/withdrawn even more cleanly than her being mafia would.

i also think that if she was mafia she would likely feel pressured to look townier on a surface level, her complete disregard for the game feels less likely to come from a wolf in a good position

and i know you mentioned that nut has come off as apathetic/bored since d1 but i do think there has been a noticeable shift btwn her posting style on d1 and d2, at least in terms of the level of effor/activity, which to me tracks w/the overall progression of the gamestate

When mafia is getting beaten, mafia is going to lose morale and go low effort at least as much as town! This is not in any way towny! Town CAN go on autopilot, I have certainly done so myself, but it's very likely for mafia to do so!

Like, especially in this game where town can actually do things like redirect or copy the mafia kill and kill more mafia with it, mafia are going to feel especially vulnerable and not want to effort

Mafia bussing a buddy early then coasting with the towncred is exactly what people need to be wary of

he isnt per say. he has been mighty quiet today, so more than happy to vote there. I am just assuming we got it wrong today which is a statistical probability. 4 wolves in a row is rare. I also dont like scum reading him of gimmick for obvious reasons. But I am one of many and maybe someone knows something i dont and its just good to go with the vibe.
