Re: Harry Stephen Keeler [DAY 1]
Man! I've been reading for almost 2 hours :P
So it's 4:00 and I have to start dinner and take the boys to scouts. So this post is going to be quick. But I'll be back tonight after I put the kids to bed.
My stock certificate it turns out is a worthless penny stock that is only good for starting fires. Whatever that means.
BF started out with vague suspicions before hardly anyone even posted and just snowballed from there. B/c I'm friends with MP and Spacedaisy IRL I have to fight the urge to buddy up with them in these games.
Golden, are you really mad about Rabbit or are you faking? I am of the persuasion that telling what you know is good for civs, but as I recently learned, doing so gives your enemies info about you and your team that can easily come back to bite you in the butt. I am going to resist all of my "infodumping" like urges in this game for sure. I really wish that you hadn't said that about your will. The way I see it, if you are civ, you just gave the baddies a target because they get the stuff you have if they kill you. If you are bad, then you just make me mad because you are probably going to be able to use what you said to convince others to vote for someone you know is civ - possibly to save one of your baddie teammates.
BR - I think your post about MP was legit baddie hunting but...I know that MP has been working really hard on school and I'm willing to give him BOTD.
Sheep - Hi! Nice to have you! I'm fairly new to this site also. I think you'll have fun.
TH - You seem different then you did in Death Note.
Epi - You seem the same as you do in every game. That being said, I will now call you out - just like I do in every game - for making the weirdest most unhelpful posts possible. However, as I said before, I do agree with you that BF shouldn't have said what he did about his will. Also, high school for sure is the most swearyest place on the planet.
Rabbit - Ha! I mentioned two prior games. I dare you to vote for me. Also,
Everyone else - no comment for now.
Mega linki that I'm not going to read cause I have to go.

Re: Harry Stephen Keeler [DAY 1]
Zombs - would I fake emotional crap as a baddie? Absolutely. I'm not going to say I wouldn't, I pull out all the stops in this game.
But no, it wasn't faked. I don't mean this in a dismissive way, but I recognise people will take that exchange whatever way they will. What was important to me was only that rabbit listened and understood - and I think/hope he did. One of the frustrating things I find in mafia is that you can't deal easily with that kind of thing out of thread - no-one wants to make the game worse with illegal btsc (and yes, I once tried to resolve a personal issue behind the scenes in that way and it did not work out well. People just believe you are extending the game into illegal btsc.)
Those who need to know that it was real know. Anyone else is allowed to come to their own conclusion.

Re: Harry Stephen Keeler [DAY 1]
MP i'm always getting people finding something dumb or silly that I do or say "baddie" on the first day. Something I say or one time because I came back to the thread to correct myself. Think back to the game rabbit doesn't want us to mention. It happened there. It happens a lot. But i don't walk away and get replaced. What happened to the MP I used to know that would just fight back, taking every question as an opportunity to further his case that he was civ? This is mafia. There will always be accusations. I'm beyond frustrated when it happens to me so I know what it feels like. Sometimes it feels personal but it's not. It's just the way the game is played. Don't walk away.

Somewhere in there Vompatti self-voted.
If everyone else just follows suit, rabbit would be lynched. Rabbit, you'd be ok voting for yourself to clinch your lynch, right?
Given the baddie role that has been talked about - the one who gains strength from votes that don't lynch him - I think we ought to be uber-wary about self-voting in this game.

I just want to point out that the points on MP are BS (in my opinion), and have decided that I don't care if I die, but I'm gonna defend something I think is unjust. The same thing has been happening every game to him recently, and I feel bad about it, especially since I've been one of those to target him for such things before.
Also, I just finished taking my finals today, and pulled an all-nighter at the library last night. So, right now, I don't feel like scum-hunting, and I'm going to be fairly busy through Sunday anyway.

Re: Harry Stephen Keeler [DAY 1]
I haven't read most of the posts that have been made since my recent derailing, but I feel I just need to explain where I'm at right now. I'm incredibly sorry to the host and to my fellow players. I hate the idea of derailing games, and I know that I have done that this game. I've really messed up.
I know, especially as the site administrator, that I should have vented any frustration or feelings to the Mod on Duty and not to the thread. I know that I should have counted 10 before posting almost every single one of my posts this game. I am perhaps my own worst critic, so I cringe at the idea of re-reading most of the posts I've made this game. I just want to sincerely apologize to everyone.
I feel as though the following portion of my exposition is OT, hence it is green, although it inevitably relates to the game at hand and my participation and post content in it.
That said, I'm feeling insanely emotionally overtaxed at the moment, and as much as I would love to play this amazing game that Llama has set up for us, I am quickly recognizing that spending my free time playing a game where I argue with people perhaps isn't the best way for me to unwind right now, given I just hosted an immensely satisfying yet immensely emotionally and mentally taxing game (Death Note), that I've been playing other game(s) while doing so, I'm hosting Smashfest, Annie just left for Houston on Monday, and all of my PhD work. I'm not saying this to complain or say that I'm too busy to play, but I realize sometimes it's too late for me to admit to myself that I've overloaded my mental and emotional capacity, and I feel as though it may be best for me to respectfully bow out at this time. Not due to any particular player or because I'm giving up, but because I realize that I just cannot handle playing a game from the start where the very object of that game is argument and deception.
Consequently, I'm currently mulling over my current situation, but it's very likely that I will be replaced. Not because I can't "take the heat", but because I need to take a step back in my life right now, and I don't want to ruin a game for my host or fellow players just because I was silly enough to overload my current life plate.

It doesn't just happen to him. My point was that him getting upset about it does not point to affiliation for me, so I basically ignore it.
And lots of people make bullshit cases on day one. I am looking forward to your ardent defense of others who have bullshit cases on them in the future

I want to look more into the votes for items. I need to reread the roles and see if there is anything in there that could make what someone voted for have any meaning. I think some brought up this point about some votes for items. I can't remember off the top of my head who, but I had the exact same feeling. Maybe I'm biased though since I got, NOTHING!
I said the key + safe is one thing I had an eye on, and also people who went for papers, because the baddies have a paper-storing vault.
Figures.

You were pretty awesome in Death Note, I thought you kept things moving, and your running commentary was very helpful. The mechanics of that game made a lot of unique playstyles possible.Turnip Head wrote:I can confirm that I'm not an invincible independent that needs to be lynched to win in this game.Zomberella12 wrote:TH - You seem different then you did in Death Note.
First I agree, down with Excel boo hiss.blindfaeth wrote:OK, I think I understand. I know you play from your gut too SVS, Excel is for squares. To put it simply, I expected opposition, but not to the degree that actually came to fruition. Regardless of others opinions, I still don't think it was a bad idea, I don't regret mentioning it. When multiple people oppose ideas I set forth, I get the hunch I'm onto something. All it takes is a couple mafia throwing in some doubt and letting the rest of the players ride the wave. So that is why I believe I am still likely to be correct if I had to guess. Does that explain better?
Linki with br, will read in a sec
It does explain it better, but it does not say much towards why I specifically suspected you. Since you & Golden are that close and often think alike, who is the person you most need to fool? I know when I am in a position where I am playing against someone (and with the win cons in this game, that would be everyone not on your team if you are bad) and that someone knows me well, I want them on my side. You were so hyperfocused on Golden. Your subsequent behavior, and your attempts to pooh pooh off what I was saying has not made me feel better, it only made me feel worse.
Then that whole "I know someone who has a lot of money! It must be The Millionaire!!" You can backpedal, but when you were approached with other possibilities, you basically said, "Yeah, that could be true, but my gut says something is stinky here". So either you have more info than you are saying (and if so, why did you give a reduced version?) or it's a red herring gone bad by the unexpected bad reaction to the "I have info!!" announcement. Personally, I am leaning towards the latter.
Far fetched? Perhaps. But plausible. I might be wrong, but this is what I saw and what I got from it.
Now I have to spend a bit more quality time with Rabbit v Golden v Epignosis from last night, a veritable intensityathon.

S~V~S is speaking closest to my own thoughts at this time. I am not too interested in the MP situation, I didn't think it was a strong thing to suspect him for, though it was an acceptable reason for a Day One vote.
Still looking mainly at BF for the lynch.

[quote="Zomberella12"]Man! I've been reading for almost 2 hours :P
Mega linki that I'm not going to read cause I have to go.[/quote}
You dare me? Do you think I'm like MM, Impulsive?
I like my votes to count for something. I will not waste, ever. If I think you're bad, I will vote for you.
Votes are important. If you try to trivialize them or use them in a non helpful way it's something that should be looked at IMO.

At least there are a few choices. I hate self votes. I don't think they point to civvie or baddie in anyway. They also don't help in anyway either.
Good luck with the experiment. Are you using the mafiatific method?

Metalmarsh is the subject of this experiment. My only remorse is that no one will get his Item if he gets lynched now.rabbit8 wrote:Long Con wrote:Ongoing experiment.rabbit8 wrote:Long Con wrote:Oh yeah! How do we know no-one will get the item.
