If Epi had not pushed so hard to lynch Elo - a low/non poster and saying she did not wish to really play without first considering a replacement I would not be voting for him but he did so voting Epi
He himself has said many times low/non posters are more likely civ/town.

I've voted for DharmaHelper. It's a random placeholder at the moment. Maybe I can find a reason to vote someone else in the next 18 minutes.

I don't think I have said that at all. More from the word manipulation brigade, I suppose.Roxy wrote:Did I say present context? Re: The Flash: Battle for the Gem Cities (Day 1)
I've reread it a few times, and Epi's post about why he wants to lynch Elo seems really genuine to me, even if I don't agree with him about Elo at all. I hope LC is right and Magenta pardons this lynch to gain BTSC with the Detectives. I don't think Epi is bad.
Re: The Flash: Battle for the Gem Cities (Day 1)
I'm going to *vote Llama*, because his Bullz reasoning isn't really convincing to me, and his shenanigans (especially his fixation on Grodd) feel like they might be a smokescreen, particularly if he's done this sort of thing as a civvie.

About an hour left, everyone!
We find comfort among those who agree with us - growth among those who don't.

This was a weird post from rey. It was made exactly 1 hour and 18 minutes before lynch deadline, so I think Rey was one hour off on when he thought it ended. But he didn't come back to change his vote or explain it in the next 18 minutes all the samereywaS wrote:I've voted for DharmaHelper. It's a random placeholder at the moment. Long Con wrote:I disagree that my post said nothing. I was responding to the post directly above - blindfaeth's last sentence said we would be "waiting to see who the Independents side with", and I saw that as an inaccurate way of looking at things. BF seemed to be viewing them as a group who could make decisions together, but since they don't have BTSC, there isn't really a concept of "seeing who they side with".Soneji wrote:-Longcon's post on the indies is one of those flagstone posts mafia makes, that look contributive yet really say nothing of value. What he said about them was obvious to the general public on top of being rather pointless even if it wasn't.
I don't think that's nothing, I think it's something worthwhile to bring up. And that was just my first two paragraphs, in the third I brought up the "S" of BTSC in the secret parts of the roles... and if you don't think that held any value, then we just have different views on the game, I guess.
I'm staying with my vote for this guy.

Somehow didn't realise the poll was due to end so early. I am not sure who to vote for... Maybe Llama because not only are his reasons for coming after me so ridiculously contrived, but BF also seems to have a vested interest in keeping him alive and pushing people away from suspecting him. I'd be interested to know why. In fact, why not. I'll be voting Llama.

The most common thing on The Syndicate is an open role list with certain abilities being hidden. The "secret parts to be solved" is used here and there. I don't believe I've seen any games on this site where the entire role list was a secret, but I've realized since Thingyman came to us that several of our Mafia styles are a departure from the broader norm.Soneji wrote:The S thing I can't make much comment on. I have no experience with an open role list where the important details of most roles abilities are layed out and revealed ala Wheel of Fortune. On NF we either have open role lists with certain abilities being hidden and only known to the player with the role/host or we have a closed set-up.

Epi - Maybe you did not use those exact words but you have made your feelings known on this subject - why should we lynch someone who is not playing or posting - is something else you have stated about this subject.
TH - I did not ask you to like it but when someone does something that goes against things he is knownto have said as a player and a host it strikes me as a major nose twitch.
Bass gave you flashbacks of what?

When I get around to hosting here you will see it more often. All three games I have hosted were closed set-up and its the norm on NF. Open set-ups only happened maybe 10% of the time on there.Long Con wrote:The most common thing on The Syndicate is an open role list with certain abilities being hidden. Yes, Rox's Monty Python game has been the only closed setup game on this site to date, and yes, Wheel of Time by timmer and yours truly will be a completely closed setup.
And yes, we are weird around here, but that's the way we like it. :P

Re: The Flash: Battle for the Gem Cities (Day 1)
I didn't realize the poll ended so early in the day. I have spent the last 15 mins going over the last few pages. I am still so undecided on where I want to place my vote. I don't really suspect Epignosis at this point, I just think he's a bit of a conclusion jumper. I might have to vote for Llama because I don't believe his day 0 antics were as innocent as he would like them to appear. I feel like he was trying to get something across to someone. I did like Aces post on SVS, its such a small thing but I understand what he's talking about.
Now that I have wasted another 5 mins staring at this post I think I will just vote Llama. I have this nagging feeling he can't be trusted this game. He's up to something.

Re: The Flash: Battle for the Gem Cities (Day 1)
Day 1: Monkey See, Monkey Don't
The Rogues had just heard the news from Piper. Bart Allen was dead and the speedsters were out for blood. They looked at the video footage in horror, not remembering a moment of what was unfolding in front of them. But there was no mistaking their identities in that clip. They killed a Flash. They broke their own golden rule and now they would have to figure out how to survive a vengeful speedster before it was too late.
Meanwhile, a diverse group of citizens from both of the Gem Cities gathered to make a big decision. Who would they hold responsible for the sudden uptick in crime? It seemed natural to look at Epignosis first. He was a convicted felon who had fooled the police and the Flash throughout his early life of crime. But would he ever attack the entire region on this scale? Epignosis did his best to assure the people that he was just a regular gentleman, like the rest of them. "I swear, I'm reformed this time around! It was probably my wife. She didn't even want to move here!".
Just as the mob was bringing out their literal torches and pitchforks, one of them began frantically rambling about a Gorilla.
"What are monkeys even doing here! He's talking, oh why is he talking?! This is just unnatural, get him away! GET HIM AWAY FROM ME, AHHHHHH!"
The man's behavior was erratic. In his paranoid fit, he bumped into one of the lit torches and was suddenly set ablaze.
Panicking, the crowd started running for the Central City Garden's nearest exit. In their rush, they knocked over the burning Llama and trampled him enough to put the fire out...but unfortunately also enough to crush his body.
Captain Cold and Heat Wave wandered through the streets later that afternoon, hoping to find where their friends, Mirror Master, Weather Wizard, and the Trickster had wandered off to during the commotion. Leonard was also looking for his sister, Lisa, the Golden Glider. They paused and gasped when they saw a charred figure lying on the ground ahead of them. Fearing for their allies, the duo rushed over to identify the victim.
It wasn't one of their partners. Even worse, it was their greatest rival: The Flash. A protector of the Gem Cities was dead, who knows what kind of trouble could sneak into town now? And who will Wally West hold accountable for his friend and predecessor's demise?
