Good question!Sloonei wrote:ahoy! i've done some research around here, but are there any rules or things here that may be different from the RYM norms? i'd hate to make a bunch of noob mistakes right off the bat.MovingPictures07 wrote:Sloonei! Welcome!Sloonei wrote:hello friends
RYM represent.
Here are the ones that first come to mind:
1) Votes must be cast in the poll versus bolded in the thread to count. As Epi noted, it's generally good form to post and explain your vote at the time you cast it in the poll, but it is not necessary.
2) As you can see, the roles are listed, since we generally play with open setups. Consequently, role claims are against the rules, and dumping information found from your role into the thread is seen as bad form. For example, say you are the role checker role and uncover that MP07 is mafia. Even if you don't out yourself as role checker (cop, seer, etc.), if you just go into the thread and say "MP is bad", that will be considered bad form. Instead, a player will case another player REALLY hard if they have particular reason to believe they're bad via their role power. So while role powers tend to more heavily utilized than RYM, information gained from outside the thread enters the thread via casing, rather than hard information claims.
3) Though these aren't necessarily differences, you should note that Days for this game are 48 hours, Nights are 24 hours. Night talking is allowed. Any BTSC (behind the scenes contact; i.e., masons or scum teams) is allowed during Days and Nights.
Can't think of much else at the moment... I'm sure you'll do great! And if you have questions, just ask at any point during the game, people are generally helpful around here even if they're arguing that you're a mafia (in this game, a communist). :P
