She's right, you know, about the book of Ruth. I just hope we can trust her as she says.Ruth wrote:I object. I have 48 hours to convince you I am reformed. I shall have it
And I live with my mother in law, you should read my book; I am about loyalty. But I still can't get a word in edgewise with that blessed woman; I intend to talk quite extensively, Pilate.

Re: Biblical Mafia [CHAPTER X]
What an interesting day that was.
Re: Biblical Mafia [CHAPTER X]
Could Ruth be heathen? Sure
But I tend to think she might be Belshazzar.

The fact that she knows Belshazzar's win conditions could be evidence this is true.Lot wrote:Could Ruth be heathen? Sure

If she could pick someone to rezz and then become them though why wouldn't she pick one of the good guys that died? She might still be suspicious but it would be a whole lot easier to come back as a civ. Maybe each of the horseman has to pick a side, Belshazzar picked heathen, and thus she had to rise as heathen. Or, why didn't she just come back as Belsh.
Lot these questions are not directed at you, they are just brainstorming in my head.

Re: Biblical Mafia [CHAPTER X]
11 In those days there was a man named Judas Iscariot who loved money. 12 And Judas heard that rich foreigners were among the people of Sin-d’kaht. 13 Knowing that the foreigners wanted Balaam the ass-driver dead, Judas took a flint knife. 14 Finding Balaam, Judas slew him,

Re: Biblical Mafia [CHAPTER X]
It's a difficult question, because answering it requires a lot of assumptions about things we don't know.Balaam wrote:Absalom- looking back at the first five or six days of votes, who do you think is looking worse after Belsh flipped Horseman?
Did the mafia know he was Death or vice versa?
Were they working together?
Do the Horsemen know each other's roles and do they have an incentive to protect each other?
What is his win condition?
What was his night power?
Without knowing any of these answers, a vote analysis is impossible. I still think Rahab is looking pretty bad, and I think we should lynch Ruth today. Even if she was reincarnated as Belshazzar, as Balaam suggests (and I have no reason to believe this is any more than a wild guess), that would still make her Death and I doubt it's a good thing to keep him around. Aso, given that Belsh was not a Heathen, I am going to look into his Rebecca suspicion further, as it is (slightly) more likely to be a real one than otherwise.
What do people make of Esther's top suspects being the people with the best voting records all game? Nefarious, or just not paying attention?

I just noticed that Balaam was killed by Judas, so we are either looking at a civ ninja or a recruit, and canonically, the latter seems more likely.

Seriously people?!? I've been dead for 16 hours and I haven't even gotten a single "RIP Balaam" from anyone? Guess that shows where I stand with you guys. See if I help you civvies at all if I'm rezzed.
Death is so... monochromatic. It's going to take a while to get used to this.

Thanks for a fun game Epi. I lasted longer than I thought I would.

Re: Biblical Mafia [CHAPTER I]
Balaam, my apologies. Sometimes I forget to RIP but it has nothing to do with whether I like the player or not. I agree you have done a lot of work for us and we will be missing big pieces without your contributions.
Re: Biblical Mafia [CHAPTER I]
I always suspected Judas secret was that he'd be a heathen recruit. The most obvious choice. In which case, for the first time this game, I feel doomed. Especially since I lost my buddy Balaam. Oh who am I kidding, he was an ass.
As backwards as this sounds, I'd actually advocate not lynching Ruth today. At worst she seems likely to be chaos. At best, she has been deliberately put in the thread so we'll waste a lynch on her when she actually only survives for a short period of time or something. We can deal with her later, I think.
I'd sooner be looking at Isaac or Lazarus today.
Bathsheba - it's nice to have you back, but could you please give a brief synopsis of what has been happening to you this game? It's difficult to read a post like your last one which suggests you've been reading and keeping up when other factors don't appear that way.

Lot, I have been skimming the game to see if i could figure out who is behind the socks. Then, Epi asked me to sub in so I did. (I asked his permission to tell that I am a sub.)
There are chunks of info I will be missing because when I was skimming I sometimes skipped over things. Like for example, I see you have Lazarus at the top of your list. The last time I can remember reading about Lazarus people seemed to think he was the one who got more votes as time went on (a civ role). What happened to that suspicion? Also, regarding Isaac, can you just give me a brief reason why you think he deserves to be at the top of your suspicions? I will read both he and Lazarus but if you would tell me those two things it would help me out.

Re: Biblical Mafia [CHAPTER I]
Well, on Isaac I've always felt his voting patterns look terrible and there has never really been anything he has yet done to persuade me he is civilian. I note, for instance, that there are STILL no new apostle activations, despite Isaac claiming to be a vanilla one. It seems to me at this point that the odds of him being heathen are strong.
On Lazarus, I see two possibilities. One is that he is Simon the Zealot, in which case within a couple of days I will be lynched. He will then be a confirmed civ, but I will be dead. The other possibility is that Martha is Simon the Zealot and Neb knows this so that Lazarus could fake it. If that is true, I wouldn't be lynched by leaving him alive, but he would be heathen.
Basically, on Lazarus, it's either:
He's bad and I survive; or
He's good and I die
So for me, I see merit in lynching him either way.
Also, Lazarus is the way I'm going to vote - see previous votes for why.

It's blatantly obvious why. I've made it incredibly clear. And I don't think any better of you for not paying attention.

No need for asshattery.
If you're not being mind controlled, then you're okay with dying to prove he's civ, and living to prove he's bad? Is it all that worth it when no one else is voting for him?

No, but YOU might be ok with that, since I've been going after you for do long.Isaac wrote:If you're not being mind controlled, then you're okay with dying to prove he's civ, and living to prove he's bad? Is it all that worth it when no one else is voting for him?
If he is civ, I'd prefer he died to prove he is civ, and I lived, since I'm actually making an effort to help win the civs the game, and he is just popping in to vote.

Re: Biblical Mafia [CHAPTER I]
I am not with you at all Absalom.
You have managed to control this thread day after day after day after day. Well done, by the way. You've been doing it since day 2, and you never stopped.
I bet you are heathen, and you've been throwing teammates under the bus.
But at this point, I think it's game over for the civs anyway.
I'm feeling quite frustrated at how out of hand this is. People like Isaac and Deborah should have died a long time ago yet they haven't. I just don't get it. It's actually a waste of time me even playing, because I just get overruled by Absalom anyway.
You guys walk like fools into Death's trap. I'll be lynched tomorrow anyway by Lazarus, no doubt.

Why do you think there's a trap? Why do you think Ruth is not exactly as she appears to be? It has to be based on one of three things. Empiraical evidence, either in or out of the thread, logical inference, based on what we already know, or random guessing. Which is it?Lot wrote:I am not with you at all Absalom.

Why do you think it's game over four the civs? If you're right about Ruth, there's only two Heathens left. If I'm right and we lynch her, there will be only two left after that. That seems like we're in a pretty good position to me.
I'm sorry you're annoyed at me leading the thread, but I am trying to find bad guys and, not to toot my own horn, doing a fairly good job of it. Who wanted to lynch Samson? Not me. Who wanted to lynch Geoff? Not me. Who anted to lynch Mary Magdalane? Not me. I didn't lead those lynches. Other people are welcome to lead if they can convince me (what's the case on Deborah?) but so far they haven't.

Common sense. The reason she is back is the interference of a horseman. Why WOULDN'T we let it playout. Why would a horseman bring a heathen back... just to delay us a day? To assist the heathen in winning? That doesn't make any sense. He did it because it's suits HIS purposes.
I think Ruth is probably Heathen, I just think she either a) won't die and we will waste another day or b) one or more civilians will die instead. We are messing with DEATH here.

I don't think Lot is a Heathen. I think Lazarus would have been NKed if Lot were a Heathen. But he wanted to protect Belshazzar and now he wants to protect Ruth, both of which are irrational in my opinion. It's very strange.Pilate wrote:It is madness. Who wanted to lynch Cain? Jonathan????
You've led SO MANY lynches in this game.... that it's literally impossible to drown your voice out no matter how hard anyone tries. If you say the word, it will be. Don't you think it's time you were a bit careful with that?
I think Belshazzar was probably Samson, and he probably wanted to tie the vote to prevent any lynch from happening that day and mess us around. I think he wants us to fail at lynches.
But mostly, I just want everyone to get out from under the spell of Absalom and realise that just because you say something doesn't mean it doesn't deserve THOUGHT. You still can be wrong, and rushing headlong into things is not a good idea.
And Pilate, by tomorrow or the next day you will have to make a call whether you want me or Lazarus more. Your call. That's just how it's going to be, unless we can get War dead and stop a vicious cycle.
@absalom - when did I want to protect Belshazzar????? In case you haven't noticed, when you've been right (Ruth, Belshazzar) I've been on your side. Did you miss all day yesterday me saying 'I think Belshazzar is a one shot' and being absolutely completely on your side????

I've made my points, I'm not going to argue forever. If you want it your way, have it your way. I don't actually have a voice OR a vote in this game, I haven't for probably about 10 days, I'm not actually sure what the point of me being here is.
FWIW, Balaam was off the poll back on day whatever because I had the opportunity to take him off it.

I didn't push at all against Mordecai. I did push hard against Isaac because I caught him in a boldfaced lie - something most people didn't bother to read. I just find this game too tiring right now. It's pointless being in the thread because neither my words nor my vote have value.
And because no-one believes me that Lazarus is bad, which (if they are all right) means they are not at all interested in having me here either. Why should I put in a whole lot of effort when people right now are basically saying 'yes, you are going to be lynched. We don't want to help. Bye!
I'm either right and no-one will listen, or I'm wrong and people don't see me as being more valuable than someone who is barely bothering to play. Either way - why be here?
