Re: Watchmen [Day 9]
I really have a problem, MM, with you waking up to claim Comedian with "three minutes to midnight" (reference intended) to go. Even if I'm to believe you, why didn't you do anything about it (i.e. getting night killed) during the previous seven Nights?
linki @MM: do you still have a plan to vote for me? I can't commit to voting DDL, if you and him will then push me into a tie, since I strongly suspect one of you of being Moloch.

Re: Watchmen [Day 9]
I know they were there. I've got a pretty good memory of what I have posted this game that's been game-related.Dragon D. Luffy wrote:For all it's worth, you replied to my question pretty fast. It seems you had already thought of those posts before.
Yes I have played a game to avoid suspicion, because I wanted to be nightkilled. But I also was not an avid mafia-hunter because I didn't want mafia to be killed too quickly, or I'd lose the chances to be nightkilled.Dragon D. Luffy wrote:Anything else? I mean, I think you played a game that would help you avoid suspicions, but would also prevent mafia from wanting to kill you. Do you disagree with that?
That honestly did not cross my mind until just recently. I spent all of my thoughts regarding the mafia or Moloch to nightkill me, I forgot about that possibility.Dragon D. Luffy wrote:Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but there was at least one time where you voted to avoid entering Rorscrach's list. Why would you do that if you wanted to be NK'd?
Also, I did not vote off the wagon to avoid being nightkilled. I did it just to give Rorschach a more likely chance of winning. I think llama is Rorschach though, so it may not have mattered either way. The way he played on Day 1 matched the tenacity of a player who wanted to lynch all three mafia in the first three days.

No I don't plan on voting for you. Re: Watchmen [Day 9]
We've only just reached the point in the game where that strategy would work, since we've only had one baddie left for a very short time. Had I thought of that strategy sooner, I don't think it would have worked anyway.Ricochet wrote:I really have a problem, MM, with you waking up to claim Comedian with "three minutes to midnight" (reference intended) to go. Re: Watchmen [Day 9]
So you actively abdicated from your vote at fear of being killed by Rorscharch, because you thought being killed by him would lose you the game even though it should logically make you win?
I'm not a psychologist, but I think the thought proccess is kind of weird. It would make sense if this was the reason for you not doing something, but you actively avoided Rorscharch.

Re: Watchmen [Day 9]
Well then what do we do? Voting DDL won't result in his lynch. I don't have any real basis to vote Russ or Made.
Do you think Moloch will grant you the night kill, instead of exterminating one of those who might hunt him down for good on the last day? I know it's slightly selfish, but I don't want to die simply because Moloch won't grant either of us our partial requirement for winning (you being nk'd, me being alive).
linki: I also thought he actively avoided Rorschach out of fear of death, but then he said in a rebuttal what he said earlier, that he looking out for Rorschach's win con.

Re: Watchmen [Day 9]
Your explanation that you didn't want the game to end so fast is kind of far-fetched too, imo. You don't have any more information than the rest of us, how could you control the results of the lynches? I made each one of my votes with the intent of making mafia die faster, and failed spetacularly with most of them. Wouldn't it be better to just look like the most civ player in the game, even if that results in a game 1 or 2 days shorter?

Why would you care about Rorscharch winning? Your wincon is already hard enough as it is.

It's one lynch and my vote was worthless since I was the only voter left. It didn't matter where I voted anyway.Dragon D. Luffy wrote:Why would you care about Rorscharch winning? Your wincon is already hard enough as it is.

I don't know. Depends on who is alive.
I have small reasons to suspect everyone, but I'll probably have to do some ISOs.
Never mind the fact Monday will be an incredibly busy day for me.

Re: Watchmen [Day 9]
All your evidence makes sense, but they also sound weird. The G-Man thing sounds like too big of a coincidence. The Rorscarch thing sounds far-fetched. The "not wanting the game to end so fast" thing sounds far-fetched. Nothing is too convincing. I don't like this.
But I think one of the three could be easily Moloch. It's not so hard for that to happen. They just have to scumhunt too like everyone else.
While you, while the less civie looking player around, could be still telling the truth.
Argh!

Seriously people, how do you find an indie without diving yourself in a pile of WIFOM?
Never mind the fact we don't even know exactly what his wincon is. If we did, we at least could guess whether he'd be trying to make the game end fast or not.

Re: Watchmen [Day 9]
This is the most fucked up (near-)endgame phase I've ever played (granted, not that many
).
I could vote DDL, but it won't lead to anything. I'm not keen on doing it ahead of either of you, for the risks I've mentioned (even if DDL hasn't stated a reason to vote me and MM said he wouldn't). Cracking that role claim would be sweet to at least reconsider, but I simply can't see it and DDL also asked me to just drop it, in this case.
In a way, the only option DDL can vote is MM, because any other vote might get him pushed in a tie, if me and MM then vote him.
MM doesn't want to be lynched, but can't seem to get out of this anymore.
linki: Well I did get a message that deciphered into what seemed Moloch's more explicit win con, but there's no way to know for sure if it's crap bait or genuine and I can't fully specify it in the thread either. Since he started killing, he probably is the activated LMS/SK.

I've had a civ read on Russ for most of the game. In fact, yesterday I was trying to predict the end game, and I concluded that if Russ was Moloch, we'd lose. He's not the MOST civ player around, but he is civ enough to avoid my suspicion.

Re: Watchmen [Day 9]
The irony is that if we catch Moloch tomorrow, I win the game. Depending on who the other civ is and what their wincon is, I might win alone.
So I'll win alone, a game where I had a terrible performance as a hunter. And everyone else will lose, despite most of them having played better than me. And the irony will be, a lot of them will lose precisely because they played better than me, so they got NK'd.
So my almost 100% inaccurate performance as a baddie hunter will be awarded with a banner I will be the only person to wear, while everyone else will have had their accuracy punished with defeat.
I hate this.

Re: Watchmen [Day 9]
RIP MM. Sorry it didn't work out for you in the end.
Then again you speak in hypothetical terms about the other civ in the lylo winning the game or not ("depending on who the other civ is and what their wincon is), yet you never speak in such terms of you surviving this Night ("if we catch Moloch tomorrow, I win the game" ergo "I'll be present Day 10"). Such certainty about you being present on Day 10 only narrows it down to you being a Watchman who can't be affected by the night kill or Moloch. So basically you're claiming to be either Manhattan or Ozymandias. Or you could be Moloch.
Talk about dreaming with eyes open about winning, anyway.
No wonder I said a while ago to MP that I can't trust you, if I were to end up in a lylo with you.
So by this you're basically claiming to be either either a pure-blood civ or a Watchmen whose additional win con is secured, as of right now, except for the general win con. Or you could be Moloch.Dragon D. Luffy wrote:The irony is that if we catch Moloch tomorrow, I win the game.
Re: Watchmen [Night 9]
Anyway, this isn't really why I came down here this morning.
Attention Moloch!
I have a final request:
Be a sport and don't kill me tonight, please! I don't want to die and I'd rather be in the lylo. I'm not saying the other civs left are less deserving than me to stay in it; on the contrary, you should also consider going into the lylo with all four of us - it's still going to count as a lylo, right? And there'll be more room for you to possibly blend in.
But what I'm sure about is that I'd rather play the lylo and lose as a total dumbass in case we don't catch you, rather than to die on the last Night of the game and lose the game unconditionally. I absolutely loved this game and this is the best shot by far I ever had at winning a speed game and, again, I would rather play that shot till the very end rather than get bumped out on the last 100 meters.
So face up to the challenge and have me opposite you on the last Day! It'll be exciting, don't you think? I don't have you pinned down, I merely have hunches and gut reads. So your shot at glory will be as good as mine and the other civ(s)'s and I just want to get to play it properly.
Thank you.

See you D10 or adieu.

Re: Watchmen [Night 9]
Funny how you make a big point about how you can't trust my wall of text, then make another wall of text full of things that are open to interpretation about your role and your wincon. You're not that trust-worthy, either.
Anyway, I only made that last post to rant about something about this site that I hate. If you got anything else from it, congratulations, but it wasn't my goal. I'm not interested in discussing that matter again, at least not until after the game ends.

Re: Watchmen [Night 9]
Anyway, since we're here to make requests, I have one for Derf, if he is still alive.
Don't use your ability tonight. You have a good chance of hitting a civ and I'd hate to see the final game day be decided on RNG because you didn't let someone vote. Let everyone vote, and let everyone talk. It will only be better this way.

Re: Watchmen [Night 9]
Unlike your post, the interpretation of mine is pretty straightforward: I need to be alive to have a chance at winning the game; it's called being a civ. I feared getting killed for a long time and I don't want it to happen at this final hurdle.

Re: Watchmen [Night 9]
Sure. My point is, it still narrows down your possible roles. Just like you say my post narrows down mine. But in the end, neither of us are more or less likely to be Moloch because of that.

Re: Watchmen [Night 9]
RIP MM. Sorry I was wrong about you.
This is so frustrating, and nerve wracking. It's basically a shot in the dark trying to catch a player with no ties to any teammates. And we've done so well on baddies who do have that. I could easily convince myself that any one of you is or isn't Moloch, and even though my feelings on some of you are stronger, it's tough to say if there's anything approaching hard evidence.
If I survive the night I'll be around from 12 eastern to lynch time tomorrow, and I intend to use pretty much all of it to catch Moloch.

What?
I don't like this. At all.
Guys,I remember a couple people got coded messages from Ozy in this game? Were any of you among them?

Re: Watchmen [Day 10]
I haven't gotten any coded messages. So that night post looks super ominous, but it looks like no one's dead?

Re: Watchmen [Day 10]
I'm gonna be busy tomorrow for the entire day. I intend to be online about 2 hours before the phase is over, to catch-up, answer questions and vote. So please don't mind my absence. I don't wanna miss the last day and will try to be online as soon as possible, though. I might be able to come online now and then during the day, but don't count on it.
Thanks for understanding.

This has been interesting.
