Yeah, I am beginning to think that, the more I read all of those roles.DharmaHelper wrote:Yall trippin. Just pick anything.
You don't think there's any potential value in considering the decision carefully?DharmaHelper wrote:Yall trippin. Just pick anything.
Not particularly.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:You don't think there's any potential value in considering the decision carefully?DharmaHelper wrote:Yall trippin. Just pick anything.
What motivated your choice?DharmaHelper wrote:Not particularly.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:You don't think there's any potential value in considering the decision carefully?DharmaHelper wrote:Yall trippin. Just pick anything.
This seems incredibly uncharacteristic of you.DharmaHelper wrote:Not particularly.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:You don't think there's any potential value in considering the decision carefully?DharmaHelper wrote:Yall trippin. Just pick anything.
1 is the first number.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:What motivated your choice?DharmaHelper wrote:Not particularly.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:You don't think there's any potential value in considering the decision carefully?DharmaHelper wrote:Yall trippin. Just pick anything.
Incredibly is an adverb.MovingPictures07 wrote:This seems incredibly uncharacteristic of you.DharmaHelper wrote:Not particularly.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:You don't think there's any potential value in considering the decision carefully?DharmaHelper wrote:Yall trippin. Just pick anything.
On the other hand, it might be good to get a thread lock out of the way before intense discussion gets started.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:The one position 3 role that says "Thread Lock" is enough for me to never vote position 3 ever. :P

The answer: all of them, if you are a marmot.
I don't necessarily disagree; I just was surprised, especially when you were perhaps one of the most analytic and vocal players during the Death Note Day 0.DharmaHelper wrote:Incredibly is an adverb.MovingPictures07 wrote:This seems incredibly uncharacteristic of you.DharmaHelper wrote:Not particularly.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:You don't think there's any potential value in considering the decision carefully?DharmaHelper wrote:Yall trippin. Also, not really. There is too much information to sort through and make a 100% helpful decision. Every one of the roles is going to get used, and this position won't even last all that long before the next one. I don't see the point in splitting hairs over it.
Is there such a role on this roster?Metalmarsh89 wrote:A vanilla role would be less likely to care about which position to pick.
Are you conjecturing that DH has a vanilla role?Metalmarsh89 wrote:A vanilla role would be less likely to care about which position to pick.
Currently, yes. There are "5 vanilla" at the moment.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:Is there such a role on this roster?Metalmarsh89 wrote:A vanilla role would be less likely to care about which position to pick.
Oh I didn't even see that. Cool beans.MovingPictures07 wrote:Currently, yes. There are "5 vanilla" at the moment.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:Is there such a role on this roster?Metalmarsh89 wrote:A vanilla role would be less likely to care about which position to pick.
I was expecting it. How is this game setup going to affect your style this game?JaggedJimmyJay wrote:My initial inclination was to badger DH with a pile of interrogative content for that, but then I remembered there are only two actual baddies in the game right now.

Your explanation is logical enough, but I don't find fault with analyzing the positions to see if a good enough XX% helpful decision is possible.

The Hunger may be the single scariest role I've ever seen in my entire mafia career.S~V~S wrote:If you look at all of the roles, there are horrible possibilities with all the positions. The one that looked best to me initially, position 2, includes the Hunger! Having BEEN the Hunger and having been a victim of it, in two different games, I will say the Hunger sucks).
I think DH may be right. All options have positives and negatives, and that is how the hosts intended it.

Fair enough, I'm just trying to generate discussion myself.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:MovingPictures07 wrote:I was expecting it. Mafia hunting like a maniac will be a tough task given the current faction ratios. I might have to delay my behavior by a day. I've never played in anything like this (except maybe Game of Thrones Mafia on RYM, but that's only barely similar), so I'm not sure what strategies I might employ yet.
I hate that adverb shit I'm just pointing out yours to see if any of the people who drink that fucked up Kool Aid will attack you for it or not.MovingPictures07 wrote:DH, I will not address any of that adverb nonsense unless you have something you specifically want me to address. I'll contribute.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:One day when I have nothing else to do I am going to do a lengthy study on adverb usage in mafia and prove once and for all that it's always meaningless.
I know you do; you're just trying to draw the Epignosis out of his cave. Your adverb-to-post ratio is off the charts amigo. Confirmed baddie.MovingPictures07 wrote:I know you do; you're just trying to draw the Epignosis out of his cave. I endorse this.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:Assuming the idea here is that the positions will rotate throughout the game, I think the earliest stage (right now) would seem the ideal time to choose the position which features the most potentially frustrating roles that don't involve murdering someone. That would include things like lynch switches and day restarts -- both position 5. I'd rather have annoying things like those in play when the game is young than when we're dealing in a more evidence-based thread and vote choices are more meticulous. I'm still poking around though.
