I would be happy with one and only one vote. I'm going to fry something now.

I read Nevinera vs. Kate as Civ on Civ, since I know a thing or two about his play style and I would expect it to ping people early (much as my own does.) I do think the plan of spreading out once there is a clear winner in the lynch poll is a good one, but I don't really have a strong sense of whom to lynch yet. I think probably someone who has been quiet, flying under the radar. Perhaps Russ, perhaps Vompatti.
I object once again to being included in the low posters. I also think lynching low posters on what is essentially a Day 1 is likely to be unproductive at best. Llama, what makes you mention me and Vomps over Elohcin and boogs, both of whom have posted less?

I was also gonna ask about the bf suspicion that has been mentioned. I reread him and didn't get much of anything, just like with bwt. He does only have 8 posts though, so I guess that makes sense. Is the suspicion of him a gut thing or evidence-based? I realize there's very little concrete evidence to go on yet with no deaths or obviously meaningful votes, but I'm trying to get a clearer picture of where people stand and why because I currently have no idea where to put my vote. I'm really glad we have 2 days to talk about this one.

I didn't do a thorough analysis of your posting, Russ. I just mentioned a couple of names whom I had noticed as not being very active. I probably should have checked the post counts, but I didn't think of it.

I agree with you that I don't really see where the suspicion of BF is coming from.

I also think that if Bob gets to choose his recruit, he would not recruit a very, very low poster, because he would want someone active enough to help him. If I were Bob, I would recruit someone active enough to be of use, but not so prominent that he would be likely to be lynched. You can all fill in your own names as to who you think fits that description.

Bob's minions can NK someone every night, unless they have at least one vote. If they get even a single vote, their NK doesn't go through. To win, Bob and his minions need to outnumber everyone else. Minions can still use their NP, and even have BTSC. If Bob is killed, only his minions remain.
Something I noticed which may or may not be simply an imprecision - this role description does *not* say that Bob has BTSC with his minions, only that they are a team, and that the minions keep their own night powers and even any btsc they may have received elsewhere.

On the other hand, having a group Night Kill kind of necessitates btsc. If that's present, is Bob included in it? He doesn't get to night-kill on his own..
If he's not included, do the minions know who bob is? Our theories about auto-rez and the like all require that they *not* know who bob is, because otherwise they'll come back as civvies who know who Bob is.

Do you have any comment on these role rules, Lord Host?

That would make this game insanely unbalanced, unless there's some cleverness yet unrevealed. His army grows every other round, and there're only 11 players. If they came back still with bob, then he would almost certainly win within 10 days.

Ok

I am sure this feels like a Day 1 all over again to me.

I feel like we should not leave more than 2 people without votes.
If we leave 3 people open it will take us longer to narrow it down.

I see people want Vomps, Nev and bf to have votes and thats fine.

Though tbh I still don't see the suspicion on bf, and really on Vomps.
Not sure about Nev just yet.

I am still down with whatever the majority feels like we should do.

Sorry everyone! I've been fairly busy lately with rl stuff and boo's game on RM. Speaking of rl stuff, I have an interview on Friday morning for a management position with my company, so I'm really excited about that!

I'm going to finish catching up on boo's game as well, and then I will post my thoughts right now.

For me it was his reaction to our lynch plan on day 1. Now of course it could be a civ reaction just not happy with the thought of being lynched by Ben's vote or by a die roll or it could be frustration because he is Bob.
But...if he was Bob would he more probably keep his head down and say nothing but gladly agree to any plan?

Idk......I just want to nail Bob. I seriously thought it was BF last night but now not so sure. Maybe Bob is much quieter low poster. Agreeing with all our plans? Seems more likely to me now.

Damn...I was set on a BF vote.

Alright. Going to post here first since I have to wait to post again in boo's game.

I'm fine with figuring out a majority person to lynch, and then spreading a few votes out to cover other people. My main suspects right now are Nev and BF. Nev might be more from his playstyle, since he's coming off as somewhat shifty to me. He must have subbed into MOTU after I had been lynched, because I don't recognize the name from that game.

I know BF has been fairly quiet mafia-wise lately because of his new job and everything. But the few posts he does have tend to make me crick my eyebrow a bit. I just hate the feeling that this feels like a Day 1 lynch all over again because I feel I'm just going off of weak pings for now. Hopefully today's results will give us more to go off of however!

I don't get the suspicion on me either. Just because I didn't agree with the terrible plan you came up with? We're lucky Horne picked the Indy. But regardless of said terrible plan I went along with it to be a team player.

off topic note I sincerely hope this is not some sort of gay bashing thing because I've just noticed recently that boogs was lynched in another game and I followed next, and it looks like it could happen here again too, it's just a little unsettling.

That being said I'm not really sure where to look so I will probably be holding onto my vote to either save myself or spread the vote to help prevent a NK.

Linki with BWT: again, all I can say is people are pinged by me and nevinera because we questioned the groupthink. Just because we are in the minority and went against your terrible plan doesn't mean we are bad.

To add to that thought I guess what I'm more confused about is how everyone seems to agree that this day 2 is like another day1 all over again because we learned absolutely nothing, and nevinera roxy and I were all trying to remedy that exact situation by coming up with another plan of action yesterday. But then you want to suspect the very people who foresaw this problem.

Yes it was. Im sorry in retrospect i need to be more mindful of my language i dont mean to be insulting. i guess its better to say the plan could have been improved. You prevented a NK but learned absolutely nothing because you could not analyze vote patterns. And made the lynch target completely random.

Yes we all realised that. It was a hasty emergency plan for day 1 until we came up with something better.

So it wasn't perfect but it did the job. But now we are amending it slightly it seems.

I really hope that you intended this comment as a joke, because if not it is not only very insulting to the rest of us, but a rather crummy attempt to play the victim card to guilt us into not voting for you.

True. I definitely would agree that Bob would have probably been more than willing to go along with the plan we had.

And honestly, the more I think about it, I'm starting to wonder if the plan we had for Day 1 was really a good idea. While we certainly got a good result out of it, I think most of it could be attributed to chance. I'm fine with the current plans of leaving a few people without votes to narrow it down, as long as some of the people we leave without votes are people we are genuinely suspicious of. Otherwise this strategy seems like a moot point. Plus idk if it's a strategy we can run with forever. Eventually, and very soon before Bob starts getting a lot more recruits, we're probably going to have to consider running one or two of these lynches like normal lynches. Otherwise we're giving the baddies an excuse to hide in the shadows.

Linki: What is making you put doubt in BF being Bob, Snow Dog?
If he was Bob I think he would have made less fuss of our plan(which was not terrible whatever he says)

Except who can you say is really hiding? MP is awfully quiet though, for normal MP...

I really hope that you intended this comment as a joke, because if not it is not only very insulting to the rest of us, but a rather crummy attempt to play the victim card to guilt us into not voting for you.
When I saw this comment I felt a bit insulted. But decided not to answer. However i agree with what you are saying.

I don't want to make a big thing of it, but I just wanted to point out that it was an inappropriate thing to say.

Boogs is dead and Elohcin has been replaced, maybe? :wine:
Right, thanks Kate! Duh.

So S~V~S, what happened there with your vote? I'm assuming you misread the poll time, but even still: the first vote of the day is a drive-by with no stated case against someone you hadn't mentioned before? I'm fairly strongly pinged by this. Do you have any reasons for your vote?

As do I, although I do know she is at work so she probably voted from her phone without much time to elaborate but that doesn't make up for the earliness or out of nowhereness.

Alright. I have to vote immediately. I'm willing to put a vote on BF right now, regardless of all my doubts about him. However, I do not think he is the person we necessarily need to lynch. Just keeping an eye on him for now. Sorry if I'm wrong about you!

Taking someone's real life personal details (income, race, religion, politics, education, sexual preference, diet, occupation, immigration status, or creepy doll collection) into account when participating in Mafia is a pretty foolish strategy, isn't it?

In any event, if one has evidence of this happening, I am but a private message away.

Teeth - do you mind, yah know, to give an actual reason for your vote and also the earliness of it?

TBH - I have been pinged by your last few posts. Here you even say you don't think he is the one we need to lynch - please 'splain it to me. :)

SVS :o please lets talk about your vote kk?

Is it just me or has MP not been posting as much as usual? Somehow I trust him less than [insert a relatively long list of names (including both SVS(!) and Nevinera) here]. I won't be here tomorrow so I'm voting now, and since no one else seems to suspect him and we still need to spread out the votes a bit, I'm tossing in one for MP.

*votes MP*

Earliness? There was like an hour left on the poll, it said it ended at 2:30 (never had a poll ending issue before?). No one had voted yet, just squabbling and bitching, lol, I voted for Vomp cause I had to vote for someone. Prety much next best to random, spreading the vote, whatever the non plan was.

The poll ends at 2:30 alright, but on April 23rd, not April 22nd. :haha:
