Sorsha's play being scum is well documented, you only have to look at her recent posts to get a sense of posting nervously as scum playing poorly with a lynch on them tend to do.

I would then look at everyone who tried to keep you lynched over golden in light of the fact that golden had been talking like scum were going to be damaged by lynching him. You town plus his lynch being scary equals your wagon yesterday is full of scum.

Or you are scum and then you look at people who had their votes on the other recipients.

Is it unusual to take the odds to a civ lynch for future knowledge? I have seen it loads of times on RYM including people getting themselves lynched.

I like the fact that you have zeroed in on a minor detail that was quite self explanatory. Makes me more confident in a scum flip.

I'm also curious how your read of Sorsha can be explained. Why does she seem like scum, and conversely why does it feel like a setup? That's an extremely important distinction and I think you need to pick a side immediately.

This is my problem with Diiny, his content looks great, he was aggressive day one which perfectly matches his meta. My issue comes with his later participation specifically regarding day 4.

He mentioned that he would be off for 1 day and just make brief checks from his phone. Day 4 has under 24 hours left and Diiiny is well absent. I had expected his content level to remain high yet he doesn't exist, he has not voted yet either. Has absence is troublesome but probably not enough to warrant where I placed him in my rainbow based on this analysis. I will need to reorder it based on the bit of info digging I have done thus far. I was still probably focused on his harking on my meta as I reviewed all the content, his read should be more neutral based.

I am making an assumption that his lack of day 4 is continued, extended issues from day 3 mobile restrictions.

Where did you get that shovel from? You are digging yourself into a "hole" lot of suspicion!

In all seriousness, why would the town lynch a town member knowing she is potentially town. There are plenty of other reads out there to be made rather than going after an easy lynch. Time is better spent getting reads and analyzing the current 2751 posts and 28 members rather than settling on a lynch when there are still 19 hours before the day is up. This is illogical and scum reasoning. If there is no further reads to be made by the end of the day maybe then a Sorsha lynch for information but I think there is plenty of additional content to look through.

I will grant you that Sorsha's posts don't look great, but if you look back through my posts, it's not that far back, you will find my reasoning for why I think that Sorsha is a bad lynch, you are of course welcome to disagree with what I have to say but to be honest, I had you marked as neutral but now, I think you just jumped to likely scum.

Thoughts?

I don't even understand what you're trying to say in the first paragraph there. I don't think all the people voting for me to be lynched yesterday were bad. In fact I'd say most of them weren't. The scum know I'm not one of them so while one or maybe two might jump on a bandwagon I think most would place their votes elsewhere, knowing I'd come back civ.

I can't think of a time we have openly lynched someone we thought was civ just to get better reads on other players. Which is really what I think you're doing.

Dude, I'm sorry you feel that way, but you are the only one. I never intended to mean that you had illegal btsc. I even posted this earlier, which you never responded to...

This right here is precisely why I continue to get pings from you despite my initial suspicion being invalidated. You continue to make shit up to make me look bad.

Roxy, let me clear this up.

I was DEFENDING you (from myself, admittedly) when I said "Maybe Rbz PM'd Roxy to talk about old Piano days." Furthermore, I was NOT inferring illegal BTSC. Is it ILLEGAL to PM an old friend from a different message board even if you two are playing a game together? I don't think so! I don't think anyone else thinks so, either. So, like I said to you before, in fact I'll just quote what I told you before...
Matt F wrote:If you are civvie, you need to stop making stuff up like that.
Again, I was not inferring that you had illegal BTSC. I do not think it is considered illegal to Private Message an old friend, even if you are playing in a game with them. If I am wrong on that count, my apologies, I did not realize, but I do not think I am wrong.

Roxy - I know in the past we've had these little battles, but I do think you're swell.

If you are really unhappy with my play after seeing this post, let's take it to PM with SVS or MP.
How long has this misunderstanding gone on between you guys? Feels like before my weekend at least. Cos it's a lot of banter but not exactly progressing anything. Linking you guys in a "friendly" way that there's no way scum would make connections that obvious right

No, I don't think you are a townie. I don't know what your alignment is. I have no BTSC with you and I haven't been given the roles so I am at best guessing just like everyone else in regards to everybody's roles. I'm saying we lynch you because through your play up until now, and I cased you yesterday if you recall and was close to voting you over golden until he all but begged town to lynch him for the promise of a scum flip, you are more likely scum right now than anyone else in my opinion.

I just happened to also point out that should you turn out civ (and I'm not the kind of townie who assumes I'm a telepath, so I am open to the possibility :P) that there is some to be gained from your flip. More so than anyone else flipping civ in fact. Your interactions, the votes on you, the days and days of suspicion you've gathered. It's about the best possible breadcrumb trail that any flipped civ would have.

It also bears pointing out that I was one of your top two town reads. I think it's quite strange that you would look at one single isolated post that is really inconsequential to anyone with the capacity to understand the benefit of sacrifice for gain, and let it erase your days of built up trust. It makes all your casing and all your reads up until now seem very non genuine.

I've not outright tried to lynch anyone who I knew to be a townie before either. But I have pushed for lynching scum candidates over others before when the potential of their town flip has been putting the town in a better situation. This is the same situation. Have you genuinely never factored into a lynch the benefit to the town of the potential of the lynch being a civ flip? Because that's good strategy sorsha.

I note that I'm pretty sure that's the first time bcornett has made mention of me, and I happened to be a full fledged scum read. Interesting. I note that you've been flying nicely under the radar since nearly getting lynched on day 1. Talk more.

If I feel more pressured I can point out half a dozen other things that make it impossible for me to be scum, but for now suffice to say I think you're just overreacting to your possible lynch and jumping at shadows.

Unfortunately, it's not as I read the thread (I only ever did that in Death Note and Watchmen and it still wasn't entirely helpful to jump in with reads in real time :sigh:), it's a process of re-reading for hours and writing conclusions for another amount of hours. I would assume that the votes are going to magically appear at the end of the lynch (mod feel free to clarify). So who we think we are lynching may not end up being that person. If we can largely agree on a lynch candidate it's probably a good idea to ensure that everyone else is far enough back from them to not be able to change the lynch. I would also say it's unlikely the person is going to use this role so early unless we have a scum candidate because it'll just give us a pile of people to choose a lynch candidate from tomorrow. But if I were using this role, I'd make sure that I voted for someone on a vote that was full of townies so that the pile is diluted. I expect this will turn out to be a very dangerous role and I expect it will end up being a huge advantage to scum. Think about it, how are we going to lynch this person in particular unless they are so far ahead on the lynch tally that they can't protect themselves by voting on the second highest tally?
1. Best place to hide is in plain sight. The ones who are most aware of this role are the role and their teammates.
:ponder:

Many have stated they feel MacDougal is definitely civvie because of his interactions with Long Con, I think, but I quoted this from Devin's post because of what Devin put in yellow here.

Long Con, discussing his role with another player, says "Best place to hide is in plain sight. The ones who are most aware of this role are the role and their teammates." We know Long Con was speaking about his own role by talking about being in plain sight, but what pinged me was the fact that he was talking with MacDougall about this role, and says that line about teammates. Could Long Con have been talking about himself and MacDougal? That would certainly be interesting. For now, putting it away because others seem super convinced of his civvieness.

Floyd - You have not been punished in the thread as others have been for non-participation, so you must be sending in your Night PMs. You vote in every lynch. Do you have any current reads on players, good or bad?

He was actually the second, behind me but I swapped off Long Con for a bit. It was an unexplained vote too which I'm still curious about although its so far in the past i might be beating-off a dead horse. Just want to know if it makes a difference to your read at all?
Was not aware of that. Regardless, as you can see, I skipped a read on Choutas because I saw that vote, and still had many players to read through, which I never got to anyway because after reading another player or two, I was done haha.

Choutas never changed his vote, though, as far as I know, so I think he still looks clean. The whole problem with this is Long Con's power, though, so theoretically, any of his teammates could've voted for him and thought it would be fine considering his power. Without ISOing Choutas, though, just based off of what I recall about him, he seems fine to me. I will do a complete read of him before moving on to the others, though.

This made me laugh. XD Seriously, though, what's wrong with Golden's plan? I see no fault with it.

As MacD pointed out with me using my own meta against Floyd which may seem unreasonable to some but not to me, in my first game as a baddie Mafia, in my second or fourth post, I believe, I told everyone how confused I was.

I'm really sorry to anyone asking me not to look at this, but this kind of question makes me really uneasy based on my own experience as a rookie bad guy in his first game.

Wow, right after you posted that, two out of three players who are civvies vouch for Mac. Golden and Elohcin, what do you think of the theory I pose at the beginning of this post? 3J can answer too, of course.

My issue is that you seem to be stuck on one person (sorsha) when there is plenty else to take care of up until that time comes around. I feel as though this focus on this one person is detrimental the town. Another issue is that you say there is a breadcrumb trail there. I have also looked over all of her posts and I found nothing that would bring about sufficient knowledge that would warrant her lynch. That doesn't mean that there isn't anything there or something that might be revealed. I just think everybody is already in agreement that her lynch might yield information but that does not mean that we should stop looking at others. This is the tone that I got from your post. When I encounter this tone I immediately think of a scum mindset. Focusing easy lynches to divert attention.

As for flying under the radar, there are still quiet a few people who have less content than myself. Real life demands time and therefore I was tending to this.

Hey, let's look at Brian.

bcornett24 ★★★ Temple
Spoiler: show
1. Votes Devin and rundontwalk for CEO. As of the time of writing, Brian now suspects Devin solidly as scum.

2. This is more of a note on Diiny but I really don't like Diiny's post here. Brian himself points out that maybe Diiny's been deliberately overreactive and aggressive to get responses and 'generate content,' but I'm wary of Diiny's tone here. Okay, back to Brian.

3. Comes to bea's defense when bwt gets on her for advocating RVS.

4. His comment, 'my lynch would be a waste of time' throws WIFOM in my face like I said something to offend a fancy person. I've seen both scum and town say something along these lines when they're in present danger of getting lynched, so it doesn't sway me either way, but like good WIFOM, I am breaking my brain around it. I'm soothed by the fact that Long Scum did the exact same thing back to him. Could have been two scum bussing each other, but I don't think that's likely. Is it? When they're both on the chopping block?

5. There's a line in a Eugene Mirman stand-up about Wendy's chicken strips, where he says, 'I never suspected the food wasn't real...until you insisted it was real.'

6. Implies that the JJJ/Golden scuffle was staged. To which I say... Honest question: When was the last time scum had a big staged duel? I feel like this possibility gets brought up a great deal, but I don't remember it happening. I'm talking big debates like JJJ and Golden here.

7. Calls a kettle black. Devin has few posts, Brian has few posts. Low post count ≠ scum. Rather, it's not indicative of scum, or town. This is a pretty small thing to suddenly put someone in the 'probably scum' category in your rainbow list. Yet, Diiny, into whom you put a great deal of work, remains in 'neutral/unknown'. That's weird. Probably the weirdest, most inconsistent thing about Brian at the moment.

8. Regarding MacDougall and his wanting to lynch Sorsha no matter what alignment she is, I feel like Brian's [url=http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 44#p184744] feels a little misplaced. Firstly, everyone is 'potentially town', just as everyone is 'potentially scum'. Name of the game. Unless someone can gain certainty of a player's alignment through a power role, any lynch we set up is something nobody but scum are going to be sure of. Secondly, Mac's right: to borrow his terms, whether she's scum or town, she's going to leave 'breadcrumb trails' that can help us get better reads vis-a-vis her reactions with them. Brian, you're more than entitled to disagree with this line of thinking, but just know that it's true. Town lynches can be informative.

That's all I got. Brilliant Point #7 is the big ping, and there are a couple smaller ones throughout. Overall, I'm juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust {gasp} ...ust leaning town. Just a little bit.

Actually on this same note, I think several people are stuck on sorsha. If you are convinced that she is scum, that does not mean that we should be idly sitting by wasting a day away waiting for her lynch, there is plenty of info to gather.

1. I know nobody on this forum, I voted for a random person because he had a cool name, I also though that RDW would be amusing as CEO. That is all that is it.

2. not directed at me

3. BWT contradicted himself from what I was reading, perhaps something was worded badly but I did not find anything he said after that point to be sufficient enough for me to change my vote.

4. My lynch would be a waste of time since Im a civ. If I was scum bussing him I wouldn't be almost getting myself lynched in the process. That theory makes no sense.

5. I have no idea what this is referencing.

6. I have no idea, I have only played 5 games including this one.

7. I am aware low post is not equal to scum. I stated my reason for disliking devin and it had nothing to do with post count it was the content of those posts, and that the majority of his content felt like filler rather than actual content, now after I said something he has posted more stuff which I have not looked over in depth yet. I will aim to do a content analysis of him tomorrow to further verify this.

Diiny is neutral because his first posts were actual content but he has since dropped off the face of the earth. None of the content that he had seemed to be anything but neutral/townish in nature. And since he is not here at the moment, you cant ask him what his intentions are.

8. I agree to this. I never once implied they aren't useful, I stated my reasons earlier for thinking sorsha is town. And if there are no other good candidates by all means there can be an info lynch, I will not join in on this other than to break a tie as I think she is town. My issue was with Macs focus on her, the way he handled that focus, felt scummy to me. And sorsha's lynch feels like easy mode to me. I think time is better spent elsewhere up until lynch time.

Mac, if it helps, I'm not sure what he sees in JJJ, but I have an idea what he sees in Golden (well not like it's that hard) and Elohcin.

I noticed Floyd switching to Eloh and not giving one bit of statement on it and this is how I feel about him right about now

It's possible but I think very unlikely... More likely is you are reading into something he said pretending to be a townie mate.

I think you are trying to stitch me up on some very sketchy pretenses Matt. But that's to be expected by scum.

If Elohcin is obvtown why wouldn't the scum have murderfied Elohcin? Matt F can you tell me what reason you have for not killing Elohcin?

Can you also explain to me your motivation for killing Zebra last night instead of Elohcin?

In fact I'd say most of them weren't. The scum know I'm not one of them so while one or maybe two might jump on a bandwagon I think most would place their votes elsewhere, knowing I'd come back civ.

I can't think of a time we have openly lynched someone we thought was civ just to get better reads on other players. Which is really what I think you're doing.

Well, I'm goin' to sleep now.

Tomorrow I work earlier then usual, won't be home until late. I'm going to vote Sorsha right now, but I'll be back in the morning before work to see if I want to switch it up.

Oh, and for those of you living in 'Murica, tomorrow night m'man Bernie Sanders is going to wipe the floor with Hillary Clinton on DEBATE NIGHT. Hopefully some of you watch our future President in action, unfortunately I'll be at work so I'll miss it. :(

Peace out

Linki - Well then maybe I have to post one more... :sigh:

Linki - :ponder: @ Golden's vote. Interesting.

Ah screw it, answering MacDougal in this post.
MacDougall wrote:If Elohcin is obvtown why wouldn't the scum have murderfied Elohcin? Matt F can you tell me what reason you have for not killing Elohcin?

Can you also explain to me your motivation for killing Zebra last night instead of Elohcin?
1st question - I dunno? Prolly cuz her role doesn't seem all that terrifying.

2nd question - Well for one, I don't have a NK. For two, she's civvie and I'm civvie, so that wouldn't make sense if I did have a NK.

3rd question - Well for one, I don't have a NK. For two, if I did, that would've been a magnificent choice considering Zebra at one point painted me "definitely town", so who would suspect me if I had killed him? :mafia:

Really interesting about Golden's vote, and I'm going to guess that he may think I'm on to something.

Anyway, night peeps. We'll see what's going on in the morning.

You literally asked people to vote for you yesterday promising good things and a townie got lynched. Your scum radar sucks and you should post less unless you want the town to lose.

Wow this is a mindfuck. You're putting a seventh vote on sorsha instead of a second on me? What the fuck is that about?

Linki - I have no idea if JJJ is civvie or scum, but if he is able to post the billions of posts he's posted this game, while also having the time to plan with a team, then kudos to him.
That's pretty weak townreading. Why wouldn't JJJ, of all people in fact, be able to cultivate his persona to seem like everything is in check and he's posting the way he always does?

What do you think about my take on him, in my LC spreadsheet? Worth thinking about or not?

I'm actually unvoting sorsha and changing my vote to MattF. Something about him is not what it seems my friends. And I aim to get to the bottom of it.

Am I tripping or did he just reveal that he knows these three players roles?
I know two out of three of them are civvies.
Yeeeeeeah how? It's fair to say golden has all but revealed himself as a specific role but what's Elohcin done to make you so certain? I know you are passing it off like you are stating as fact what is actually your opinion but it looks like a slip to me. If it's not, your confidence is unusual at any rate and still borderline a slip.

But alas, you could be telling the truth my friend. For this is a game of forums mafia, and all may not be what it seems. I often ask myself, am I right? Am I wrong? And sometimes I say to myself ... my god, what have I done? :ponder:

Most of the actual IDs were thanks to the rest of the players, especially golden8 who blew holes in both enemy factions on first try.
Before talking about my scum radar, perhaps misclassified should Dusty Spoon to know me.
